Abstract |
The FEA is a numerical procedure for analysing structure of complicated shapes to apply complex loading condition and predict stress lavel.it works on the principle of divide the rule that is transformed a physical system having infinite unknowns into small finite elements having finite number of unknowns. It’s called meshing. Accuracy of the FEA result will depends on the quality of mesh. Selection of meshing method, element size and element shape are most crucial steps in the FEA analysis. More number of elements more accurate is the results; however this also increases the calculation required for the solution. An acceptance criterion of result is to check convergence error for each iteration. Order of element is also important is also important for the stress prediction in complex loading condition. This paper represents the successful attempt to give detailed guideline about the selection of meshing method, element size meshing quality, meshing refinement and effect of it on the accuracy of the FEA analysis result. |
