Comparative Study on Discovered Rules Using Genetic Algorithm

Abstract

Data mining is the computer-assisted process of digging through and analyzing enormous sets of data and then extracting the useful information. In data mining, association rules are useful for analyzing and predicting customer behavior. It is intended to identify strong rules discovered in databases using different measures of interestingness. Genetic Algorithm is a model of machine learning which derives its behavior from a metaphor of the processes of evolution in nature. It is a robust search method requiring little information to search effectively in a large search space. Global search can be achieved and system automation is developed with genetic algorithm. Many researchers have proposed Genetic Algorithms for mining interesting association rules from quantitative data. In this paper the rules discovered using Genetic Algorithm are analysed and discussed.
