Abstract |
The reinforced earth wall become more popular nowadays due to its ease of construction, speed of construction and economy. The tests were carried out to know load displacement characteristic of reinforced earth wall with backfill material as sand and ML type soil. Experimental set up is created for carrying out test on reinforced earth wall with different type of backfill material. A geogrid are used as reinforcing material in reinforced earth wall having tensile strength of 50 kN/m. It is placed at spacing of 165 mm in five layer having length of 525mm. A load is applied through hydraulic jack on reinforced earth wall and load displacement characteristic obtained. After performing experiments it is observed that displacement of facing panel of reinforced earth wall with backfill material as sand shows less displacement than ML type of soil. |
