Abstract |
The basic concept fir this study is strengthening of pre-cracked reinforced concrete beam with GFRP sheet. In this study total six beams were casted for the concrete grade of M20 and M35. As per design, four beams will be flexural deficient and two beams will be shear deficient in casting. Loading on the beams will be given up to occurrence of first crack load as per design and then will be released after development of first crack occurring in flexure or shear as per design. Design of flexural or shear strengthening will be done to restore the original capacity of the beam. Bottom strip strengthening for flexural crack and U shape strengthening for shear crack of pre-cracked RC beam will be done using GFRP sheets as per design. Experimental evaluation will be done to check the restoration of design load by strengthening approach. |
