Abstract

Fatigue analysis helps in predicting the possibilities of failure. This helps in reducing the waste of time and resources, after the manufacturing process is complete. Every product will have an expected life, after which it will perish. The manufacturer will have an idea about the life of each product. The fatigue analyst has to check thoroughly whether the product is likely to complete the expected life. Accessory Gearbox Housing is one of the most critical components of a gas turbine engine that lies between the core engine and the aircraft. Accessory Gearbox Housing is to give support for the0gear drive assembly that transfer power from engine to the engine0accessories and to the0power takeoff drive for the0aircraft0accessories. It as well functions as an oil tight container and passageway0for lubrication. A 3-D0Finite Element Analysis (FEA) model of the Accessory Gearbox housing will be developed to0assess the design requirement. High cycle fatigue analysis is done for most severe loading conditions and determining the fatigue damage using SN approach.
