Abstract

Retaining walls are the structures which retain soil behind it. For analysis and design of retaining wall complete knowledge of lateral earth pressure is required for both active and passive conditions and knowledge of seismic active earth pressure is very important in earthquake prone region.The present study is focused on analysis and design of cantilever retaining wall and comparison of active earth pressure calculated by static method and dynamic methods by changing the various parameters. For this purpose MS excel program is used for the analysis and design of retaining wall.
