Ad Hoc Networks, Intrusion Detection, Wormhole Attack

Security techniques have been designed to obtain certain objectives. One of the most important objectives all security mechanisms try to achieve is the availability, which insures that network services are available to various entities in the network when required. Intrusion detection system is required that monitors the network, detects misbehavior or anomalies and notifies other nodes in the network to avoid misbehaving nodes. The ultimate goal of the security solution for wireless network is to provide security services such as authentication, confidentiality, integrity, anonymity and availability to mobile users. This paper provides a survey on wormhole attack and its counter measures in ad-hoc wireless network.
