Modelling and Analysis of Flow through an Inlet Duct in an Electrostatic Precipitator

Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) are well accepted and widely used for air pollution control due to reasonable collection efficiency, low pressure-drop, and low capital and operating costs. The objective of the present work is to improve the flow distribution in the duct. In this present work, CFD analysis of flow through the ESP inlet duct has been performed using ANSYS FLUENT, in order to improve the efficiency of duct. The analysis for path lines, velocity contours, pressure distributions for various cases involving no guide vane and with guide vanes has been done.
