Abstract

This paper proposes an improved control of variable speed wind energy conversion system that consists of permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG). The system uses fractional order PI controller to get the desired active power at the PMSG output terminal and load terminal. The simulation results in terms of active and reactive power at PMSG output terminal, PMSG output voltage, active and reactive power at inverter output terminal, DC link voltage and load voltage at resistive load are analyzed.
