Abstract |
Nickel pollution is a significant type of pollution for steel and alloys manufacturing industries. Nickel and Nickel compounds are used in various industries, which are discharged into water/waste water through industrial effluents. These causes contamination of water by nickel, posing several health hazards, if concentration in water is above the TLV. In the present paper a batch mode laboratory experiment was done using adsorption technology. Here, engineered carbon (EC) was used for removal of Ni(II) from water. A significant amount of Nickel is removed by adsorption on EC. The parameters like pH, temp, contact time, concentration of solution etc. are studied to find out the adsorption capacity of the adsorbent. |
