Response of Functionally Graded Material Plate under Constant Thermal Loading

Abstract

Functionally graded material comes under the classification of composite material that have a continuous variation of material properties along the thickness direction. The overall properties of FGM can be varied according to our needs, thus one of the main advantages of such a material is that it can be tailored specifically for serving a particular function that makes it unique from any of the base materials used in its synthesis. In the present project, a study on the thermal behavior of metal-ceramic FGM plate is conducted under constant thermal loading. The results thus obtained are compared with other standard results and thus validated. The material properties are varied using different homogenization schemes and the results are compared.
