Abstract

The present work is aimed at assessing the Studies of Physico-chemical characteristics of groundwater and quality index of Aland Town, Kalaburagi District of Karnataka have been taken up to evaluate its suitability for Drinking purpose. 27 ground water samples were collected from different ward of Aland Town. The quality analysis has been worked out parameters like pH, Chloride, Total hardness, Dissolved Oxygen, Calcium Hardness, Magnesium Hardness, Fluoride, Sulphate, and Total Alkalinity. The sampling sites Aland town the physico-chemical characteristics are within the water quality standards and the quality of water is good and it is fit for drinking purpose. The water quality index also proves water falls under “B” grade hence good quality water and GIS mapping for considered parameters.
