Abstract

EDM is a non-touching and automatic machining process for commonly used very hard metals machining which are impossible to machine with conventional machining type methods. This paper represents the results of experiment works carried out in Electrical Discharge Machine in other words EDM of EN 36C Steel using copper electrode in different diameter like 04mm, 0.6mm and 0.8mm with same lengths of each 1 inch. The machining process was carried out at three different supplies levels peak current (Ip) 3Amp, 4Amp and 5Amp, pulse-on time (Ton) 100 micro sec, 200 micro sec and 300 micro sec and pulse-off time (Toff) 15 micro sec, 30 micro sec and 45 micro sec and their influence on surface roughness (SR), material removal rate (MRR) and tool wear rate (TWR).
