Abstract |
The increase in the intake of students, constant change in consumption pattern and social behavior has increased the generation of solid waste in THE KAVERY INSTITUTIONS. The problem of solid waste management (SWM) is prevailing in the academic environment of THE KAVERY INSTITUTIONS also. The investigation includes the methods of practices associated with sources, quality generated, collection, transportation, storage, and disposal of solid waste in the institute. While given attention to recycle the inorganic waste such as papers, plastics, glass, the organic waste can be recycled into compost. This work is to create an organic processing facility to generate biogas which will more eco-friendly. It is intended to collect the data using questionnaire, field visit, and interaction with inhabitants. This work will evolve appropriate solid waste management strategy based on the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle to implementation of recycling plant. This work will be a feasibility study for a solid waste management system and bio gas plant for the campus. |
