In the present scenario a lot of research works has been carried out in various fields aimed to achieve various objectives in which cost reduction is one of the major issues of concern. Particularly in automotive industry researches are involved in finding and developing newer and better cost effective materials than the existing ones. For these purposes aluminium has been a boon to the industry. This is due to their light weight, high specific strength, high stiffness and corrosion resistance as compared to other alloys. Aluminum-copper combinations containing 2 to 10% Cu, by and large with different augmentations, structure critical groups of compounds.
