As the component is some form of a casting tube like structure which is to be leak tested. For this specific purpose and requirement of Leak Testing Machine the industry will train us in terms of design and manufacturing of whole machine. Testing method was the most important consideration. For which Testing method is selected according to the applications of component. According to the first meeting with the customer the specified their component details that the component is an aluminum casting and should be leak tested. As it is a casting component not a machined component, if a crack is detected on a casting component then it is of no use as casted component cannot be welded or machined to fill the crack. For this purpose, dry leak test method is appropriate. As customer just needs to notify that the component has a crack. He is not interested where the crack is. So, dry testing method is appropriate. When company needs to detect the location of the leakage of the component then we used the wet leakage testing method. Read More...

Pollutants must be removed from the water to protect the environment and public health. When water is used by the industry, the water becomes contaminated with pollutants. If left untreated, these pollutants would negatively affect the water and environment. Treatment of waste water is an essential process that prevents contamination and the destruction of water way, drinking water resources and natural resources. Waterborne diseases are also eliminated through proper wastewater treatment. Wastewater is approximately ninety-nine percent water and only one percent solids. The removal of these solids and disinfection of the water before discharge is the basic concept of wastewater treatment. Zero discharge plant has many advantages in comparison with the older methods used for treatment. One of the Yeast unit generates effluents, it can discharge effluents into the CETP (Common Effluent Treatment Plant) per day. So it has been decided to treat all the effluents in their plant itself and recycle maximum water by installing zero discharge units. Treatment of effluents is a must as per UPPCB (Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board) norms. Collision Avoidance System
-Prerna Khandelwal ; Ria Shetty; Parshwa Sheth; Amit Hatekar
In order to avoid accidents on highway roads, it is essential to maintain safe distance between vehicles which is referred as "Inter-Vehicular Distance". A warning system should be employed inside the vehicle, so that the vehicle could sense the distance between other vehicles by using ultrasonic sensors on all the four sides of the car. This paper presents an ultrasonic automatic braking system for collision avoidance accompanied by comprehensive and suitable breaking depending upon the external conditions. This system consists of ultrasonic sensors which are made up of ultrasonic wave emitter and ultrasonic wave receiver. The ultrasonic wave emitter is provided in all the four directions of the car, producing and emitting ultrasonic waves in a predetermined distance from the car. Ultrasonic wave receiver is also placed besides the ultrasonic receiver, receiving the reflected ultrasonic wave signal from the obstacle. In order to get the distance between vehicle and the obstacle the reflected wave (detection pulse) is measured. A graphical LCD is used to display and alert the driver through an audio module about the incoming distance and threat of an accident. Then arduino is used to control the motor based on detection pulse information, and the motor in turn automatically controls the braking of the car. This paper presents the possible use of an accelerator pedal disengagement mechanism in this system. This solves the problem of safety in case of low visibility in an area. Read More...

A Review on Light Weight Concrete using Coal and Fly Ash
-Arun Kumar ; Satya Veer Singh
Lightweight concretes can either be lightweight aggregate concrete, foamed concrete or autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC). Such lightweight concrete blocks are often used in house construction. Nearly all LWACs are fire resistant. In addition, depending upon the densities and strength, the concrete can be easily cut, nailed, drilled, and chased with ordinary wood working tools. This paper is a study about Lightweight concrete which are manufactured by composition of Fly ash, cement and sand with requisite quantity of water mixed in proper proportions. These concrete are comparatively lighter in weight and stronger than the ordinary concrete. The Fly ash is one of the major by-product of thermal power plants, 1kg of coal on burning produces about 200 to 500gms of Fly ash. Thus, Fly ash is very easily available which can be used to manufacture light weight concrete as a substitute of ordinary concrete which could lead to reduce the environmental pollution and help in conserving natural resources. I will calculate compressive strength using fly ash and coal. Read More...

-Abhishek Dilip Gawade ; Akash Maruti More; Prashant Bhagavan Hatiskar; Shubham Nagesh Bodekar; Abhishek Rane
The aim of this project is to design a machine which will produce bags using NEWSPAPERS as a raw material. Carry bags have become a more convenient way to carry daily necessities. Most of carry bags found which are made of plastics. Plastic packs are one of the most exceedingly awful and most pointless plastic polluters of the earth. Despite of all known hazards of plastic pollution, Plastic bags are used on a large scale by retailers for a simple reason that plastic bags are much cheaper than paper, cloth or other ecofriendly bags. The project aims at designing a model of paper bag manufacturing unit which will manufacture paper bags from newspapers. Newspapers which people read daily, becomes almost useless on the next day. These newspapers are used as raw material for this manufacturing unit. The paper bags are designed by taking into consideration its cost, load carrying capacity and aesthetics. These bags are tested for standard conditions and were found to have enough strength to replace 20-micron plastic bags. This project is based on reuse of newspapers instead of any recycled papers. It also aims on reducing the time required for manufacturing newspaper bags manually, so as to decrease the cost of bags. Project is semi-automated so that mass production of bags can be achieved, so as to make its production cost comparable to plastic bags and inherently increase its production rate so as to fulfil the ever-increasing demand in India. The pump casing is bolted to the drive flange rather than being installed on pump feet. This enables straightforward installation as the shafts and casings do not need to be aligned. This reason itself added by improper or no lubrication of bearings results in 80% of pump system problems and hence we have decided to give a thought to eliminate these major problems in our closed coupled pump. In this manuscript, Nowadays exhaust emission control from internal combustion engines have become one of the most important challenges. Oxides of nitrogen (NOx) are one of the major hazardous pollutants that come out from diesel engines. There are various techniques existing for NOx control but each technique has its own advantages and disadvantages. Technologies available for NOx reductions either increase other polluting gas emission or increase fuel consumption. The objective of this paper is to determine the maximum reduction of NOx emissions by varying concentration of urea solution with reduction catalyst. An aqueous solution of urea was injected in engine exhaust pipe for reducing NOx emissions in single cylinder light duty stationery DI diesel engine fuelled with diesel and diesel- (10%) ethanol blend. A concentration of urea solution varying from 30 to 35% by weight with constant flow rates and tested with fitting Titanium dioxide (TiO2) coated catalyst which controls by products of ammonia and water vapour. Results indicated that a maximum of 70 % of NOx reduction was achieved an engine fuelled with diesel ethanol blend and constant flow rate of 0.75 lit/hr with an urea concentration of 35% and 66% NOx of reduced with neat diesel using Titanium dioxide catalyst in Selective Catalytic Reduction system. A diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) injector assembly is provided for use in an engine exhaust after-treatment system. The DEF injector assembly may also include a valve that opens and closes the fluid outlet of the injector body. An exemplary DEF injector assembly further includes an impact structure with an inclined impact surface that disperses and distributes the injected DEF into the engine exhaust streak. Read More...

Effect of Copper Slag when Partially Replaced with Fine Aggregate in Concrete
-Mayur Bahadur Singh ; Yash Patil; Abhay Singh; Manishkumar Yadav; Shantiaum Khatavkar
An experimental investigation was conducted to study the effect of using copper slag as a fine aggregate and the effect fly ash as partial replacement of cement on the properties high performance concrete. Totally eight concrete mixtures were prepared. Four mixes containing different proportions of copper slag ranging from 0% (for the control mix) to 65%. Four mixes containing fly ash as partial replacement of cement ranging at 25% constant. Concrete mixes were tested for compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength. The results indicate that there is a increase in the strength about 40% with the increase of copper slag content, whereas the workability increased with increase in copper slag percentage. Addition of up to 45% of copper slag as sand replacement yielded comparable strength with that of the control mix. However, further additions of copper slag caused reduction in the strength due to an increase of the free water content in the mix. Mix with 65% copper slag replacement there is decreased in strengths. For this concrete containing 45% copper slag, fly ash is introduced in the concrete for better strength. Introduction of fly ash gave better results than concrete containing 45% copper slag. Workability got increased with further increase in fly ash content. Therefore, it is recommended that approximately 40% of copper slag can be used as replacement of sand and 25% fly ash can be used as replacement of cement in order to obtain high performance concrete. In the strength of concrete sand includes a major role. The main aim of this research paper is to recycle the waste material from saw mill & utilize it as concrete ingredients in the state of partial replacement. Partial replacement of sand with sawdust in concrete is defined as a composite concrete made with Portland cement, aggregate and fine churns of sawdust. This experimental work is carried out to decide the strength of concrete by adding sawdust as partial replacement of sand in concrete of grade M15 and M20. Concrete cubes having dimensions as per IS 10086 (150 X 150 X 150mm) were casted. Cubes were tested at an interval of 7, 14 and 28 days. . The results indicates that the density of concrete reduces as the percentage of replacement increases but an increase in percentage of sawdust produces a percentage reduction in compressive strength than in density. Variations taken for sawdust replacement in M15 grade are 2.5%, 5%, 10% and in M20 grade are 5%, 10%, 15%. Read More...

Gum Acacia and Methacrylic Acid Hydrogels: Preparation and Swelling Characteristics
-Mohammad Mateen M. Shaikh ; Nitin S. Gramopadhye
pH sensitive hydrogels of gum acacia (GA) and poly(methacrylic acid)(PMA) were synthesized by ceric ion initiated graft copolymerization in aqueous medium in the presence of varying amount of N, N–methylene bisacrylamide as a crosslinking agent. The copolymers were characterized by FTIR spectroscopy and swelling measurement. These hydrogels were used for the in vitro drug release studies using paracetamol as the model drug. The drug release was studied as a function of pH. The release was much slower in first 3 hrs at pH 1.2 for all the hydrogels which may attribute to the matrix compaction and stabilization through hydrogen bonding at lower pH. At pH 7.4 the amount of drug release was 60 – 70% in 12 hr. The kinetic study shows that the release of the drug from hydrogels was probably controlled by the swelling and relaxation of the polymers indication a super case II transport. These results indicate that the hydrogels may be useful to overcome the harsh environment of the stomach and can be used as excipient in colon targeting matrices. Read More...

-Patel Harsh ; Mayank Chhatrala; Ayush Gohel; Himanshu Rana; Mahesh Chavda
An improved adaptation of vibration segregation frameworks utilizing negative solidness joins a payload and payload stage on only one 6-DOF isolator in an exceptional and imaginatively minimal design. The isolator incorporates a stage bolstered on a get together of autonomously acting flexure components which are associated in sequential style, tilt over level over vertical, and thusly associated a base. Appropriate course of action of the components and the payload/stage focus of mass gives exceedingly powerful decoupled isolator execution. In addiüon, an inventive flexure preloading strategy which altogether improves vertical separation execution is fused. This technique can be utilized with earlier (unsymmetric) plans or joined with a lot of shear flexures in an imaginative symmetric course of action portrayed underneath to give more affirmation of perfect decoupled reaction to commonly opposite base excitation input. An adapted instrument is additionally consolidated to encourage manual modification of a fundamental help spring at whatever point payload weight is changed. Read More...

A Review on Coconut Fiber Reinforced Concrete
-Sanjay Kumar Yadav ; Avinash Singh
Concrete is most widely used construction material in construction industry. Brittleness of concrete is fails to handle tensile loading which leads to brittle failure. Fibers have the property to enhance the toughness of concrete. This paper presents a theoretical discussion on the subject of coconut fiber-reinforced concrete, CFRC. Coconut fiber is obtainable in abundance, which makes it quite viable as a reinforcement material in concrete. Further, it acts as a new source of income for the coconut producer who gets the benefits of the new demand generated by the construction industry. It discusses commonly used terms and models of behavior that form a basis for understanding material performance without presenting mathematical details. Different references from both early and contemporary authors are included as a means of tying the subject together along a time line. Historical review is intended to help build a background for what is currently understood about CFRC rather than as historical reporting. Read More...

GSM Based Security Device
-Farooq Shaikh ; Nikhil Shetye; Gaurav Shinde; Yash Tendulkar
Even though being a developing country, still there are number of crimes taking place against women. This problem can be tackled by our system named “GSM Based Security Device†using AT mega 328P microcontroller for the hardware device and push button to trigger the controller. We’ve analyzed that there are no security devices that can stop the crime immediately, for this instead of a device we will be providing an entire security system consisting of siren secured zone so that if crime takes place in that zone immediately the sirens will be triggered and alert call and message would be sent to preset number. This would be working in smart cities that have Wi-Fi installed all over the place. The device would automatically connect and disconnect according to the area in which the victim is present. As soon as there is a threat in the area the device gets triggered and the siren in that particular area gets activated and the people in that area would be informed about the incident and accordingly act to it.
