Abstract

Performance of researchers in a science research institution is recognised as one of the most critical indices for evaluation of a research institute. However, very few prior scientific studies have concentrated on how HR practices effect employees' performance at Sri Lankan science research institutes. Consequently, identifying the HR practices including Recruitment and Selection, Training and Development, Compensation, Performance Appraisal and Promotion practices that influence the NIFS's employee performance is potentially of great value. The study focusses to identify whether the employee performance of NIFS is affected by the above mentioned 5 HR practices.
