Abstract |
Due to the increase of severe seismic activity in the late 20th century, adversity from the damage/failure of buildings or infrastructures with massive losses of both human life and properties is inescapable. Recently, most of building utilizes the Concrete Filled Steel tubes (CFST) concept as prime for lateral load resisting frames. The concrete used for enfolding the structural steel segment not only enhances its strength & stiffness, but also protects it from fire compensations. Composite Circular Steel tubes are tested for ultimate load capability and axial shortening, under Monotonic loading using MSC-NASTRAN/PATRAN software. Steel tubes are associated for different lengths, cross sections and thickness. Specimens were analyze individually after implementing Taguchi’s L9 Orthogonal collection in order to save the preliminary investigational cost on number of samples and investigational recess. Outcomes were related with American Concrete Institute (ACI), Euro Code- 4(EC-4). |
