Comparative Study on RC and Steel Outrigger with Vertical Irregularity Subjected to Lateral Loads

Abstract

The outrigger system has become the one of the most efficient lateral load resisting system in modern tall buildings. By providing the outrigger, the stiffness of the building increases, so that which increases the performance of building under the lateral loads. In the present comparative study the static and dynamic behavior of the reinforced concrete structure for different cases in vertical irregular building 40 storey 3D RC structure is modeled in ETABS software program. In this comparative study mainly the bare frame is compared with RC and Steel outrigger with core for irregular building. Efficiency of the structure measured in terms of lateral displacement, drift, Base shear and time period for different cases of models. Parameter should be in such a way that it should prevent the structural and non-structural damages to the building.
