Abstract

Concrete is the most widely used construction material in civil engineering industry because of its high structural strength and stability. For low and middle income people very difficult to construct the buildings .Ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) and stone dust are among the solid wastes generated by industry. To overcome from this crisis, partial replacement of cement by GGBS and natural sand by stone dust can be economical alternative. This research is carried out in 2 phases, In first phase mix M30 cubes & cylinders are made by normal conventional concrete to determine the maximum compressive strength is achieved. In second phase cement is partially replaced by GGBS by 40%, 50%, 60% and natural sand partially replaced by 50% is constant to determine the compressive strength as 3,7, 28 days. This research evaluates the strength and strength efficiency factors of hardened concrete, by partially replacing cement by various percentages of ground granulated blast furnace slag for M30 grade of concrete at different ages.
