Abstract |
The use of Composite Materials are increasing now a days. Composites are of three types, metal matrix, Polymer Matrix and Ceramic Matrix. The advantage of using composite is that an alternate material is obtained with increase in several parameters without effecting in the strength. In this Study a Pressure vessel is designed and modified by using composite material. A pressure vessel is a container designed to hold gases or liquids at a pressure substantially different from the ambient pressure. Design of Pressure vessel involves parameters such as maximum safe operating pressure and temperature, safety factor corrosion allowance and minimum design temperature. The Current Pressure vessels are made of highly delighted Haste alloy C-276, Inconel 600/625. The vessels are designed for containing liquid of Capacity from small scale to large scale. In this work, the pressure vessel is first designed and modified using Inconel and Haste Alloys, later on the Material of SS316 and aluminum matrix composites, is used as replacement of Inconel. The shell optimization thickness is done by using Iterative analysis method using different thickness for shell. The FEA is done for comparing results of current available material Replacement material. |
