The utilization of pervious concrete for the advancement of black-tops, vehicle stops and carports is getting celebrated. To make material explicit for pervious strong, it is fundamental for guide testing to overview the presentation of this new kind of supreme concrete. Moreover, carbon dioxide discharge from Portland strong creation is huge and adds to a hazardous climatic deviations which prompts grievous environmental change. Subsequently, it is basic limit the utilization of Portland concrete in pervious substantial blends by not totally dislodging the strong with mechanical outcome, for example, fly rubbish and slag which have been utilized effectively as significant cementitious materials in fundamental substantial blends. The center strength pervious cement is made by utilizing standard cementitious materials, totals, and water. This solid is pursued for its properties, like thickness, porosity, compressive strength, water weakness and drying shrinkage. The rule property of pervious cement is its water weakness. Before long, there is no standard exploratory method to decide to this property. A method was thusly cutting-edge to pick the water porousness. Fly trash is utilized as a supporting cementitious material to not altogether supplant Portland concrete in pervious substantial works up to half by weight. To work on the attestation of pervious solid, it is basic to work on a superficial level. Because of the obnoxious surface and more unmistakable void substance, it could be hard for pervious cement for wide insistence by the headway business. In that capacity, fine finished pervious mortar is made utilizing cementitious materials, total and water, and its properties are examined. New kind of pervious dark top, a blend of pervious concrete and pervious mortar, is made and its properties are investigated. Pervious cement having thickness around 1800 kg/m3 shows the going with properties, porosity 0.32 to 0.36, 28-day compressive strength between 5.7 MPa and 10.1 MPa, water weakness between 9.2 mm/s and 17.3 mm/s, and 56-day drying shrinkage a few spot in the extent of 470 and 600 miniature strain. The properties of pervious mortar having 0.35 water/strong degree with hand compaction are as per the going with; thickness of 1690 kg/m3, porosity of 0.34, 28-day compressive strength of 5.8 MPa, water penetrability 2.6 mm/s, and 56-day drying shrinkage of 490 miniature strain. Study of Effect of Aspect Ratio with Uniform Plinth Area on Seismic Behaviour of R.C. Structures Using Outrigger System With and Without Belt Truss
-Ajay Sharma ; Dr J N Vyas
The rapid developments of materials, construction technologies and structural systems have given rise to a significant increase of skyscrapers over the past decades. The reduction of the top drifts and base core overturning moments under lateral loads, such as earthquakes and wind loads, has drawn increasing attention in the structural design of super-tall buildings. When building height increases, the structure should have a lateral load resisting systems other than shear walls for avoiding the effect of these loads, since the shear walls when used alone are suitable only up to 20 stories high. Outrigger systems are one such prominent system and are considered to be the most popular and efficient because they are easier to build and provide good lateral stiffness. The principle of using an outrigger system to enhance the structural lateral stiffness and overall stability is that the core-tube and the external columns are connected by rigid horizontal cantilevers. Optimum locations for Installations of outrigger systems with and without belt truss system can be founded. A relatively new concept of Virtual Outrigger is introduced in this paper. In which, using only the belt truss in the building in order to increase the performance of the building under the dynamic loads is studied. Emphasis is given to the various benefits of employing Virtual Outriggers instead of Conventional ones. Overall displacements and lateral drift can be reduced. Outrigger systems enhance the stiffness of high-rise buildings by the introduction of stiff outriggers and belt truss at different locations. The loads considered are as per IS codes. An ETABS model of 30-storey building is considered for this study. Read More...

Preventive Maintenance for Heat Exchanger Subjected to Fouling
-Meenakshi Mall ; Alok Singh
Heat exchanger is equipment used to transfer heat from one fluid to another. It has extensive domestic and industrial applications. The proper performance of the condenser is critical to minimizing the operating costs of a turbo generator unit, in terms of both heat rate and generation capacity. After reviewing the major causes for deteriorating condenser performance, a distinction is drawn between those causes that are cyclical or predictable and those that occur at random time intervals. In the first category, the fouling of condenser tubes and/or tube sheet can be corrected by cleaning, the intervals between which can be optimized. Extensive technical literature is available on heat exchanger maintenance, but it is widely scattered throughout the industrial bulletins, industrial design codes and standard, technical journals, etc. The purpose of this paper is to consolidate into basic background and preventive maintenance and to calculate the effectiveness after maintenance of heat exchanger closely related to the industrial practices. Designing and Simulation of Single Phase Induction Motor with a Smooth Start
-Harpreet Kaur Channi ; Yasin Mubenga Katanga; Amandeep Jamwal; Amik Sharma; Adarsh
Due to supply of abrupt voltage at start the motor may gets damaged and many times the winding gets burnt. An induction motor during the initial starting condition draws up much higher current than its capacity and the motor instantly reaches the full speed. This results in a mechanical jerk and high electrical stress on the winding of the motor In this project we intend to present a single phase induction motor with a smooth start. By using SCRs and other components such as op-amp, the speed of motor picks up gradually up to maximum. The motor and the two anti-parallel SCR are connected in series. The SCR receive a delayed firing angle due to delayed pulses received from the operational amplifier. The operational amplifier develops a saw-tooth voltage by comparing the zero voltage pulse. The saw-tooth voltage is further compared with the varying voltage produced by the charging and discharging of the capacitor. Henceforth, producing a delayed pulse and feeding it to the SCR as delayed pulse for firing angle. Read More...

The Moisture Variation effect on Soil Subgrade in Flexible Road Construction
-Rupesh Patel ; Shashikant B. Dhobale
The estimation of subgrade strength and the volume of traffic to be carried begins the design of the pavement layers to be laid over subgrade soil. The strength of the subgrade soil over which the various pavement layers will be laid has a significant impact on their design. CBR is the most common measure of subgrade strength (California Bearing Ratio). Weaker subgrades necessitate thicker pavement layers, whereas stronger subgrades benefit from thinner pavement layers. Precipitation, capillary action, floods, and abrupt rises or subtidal of the water table all affect the saturation level of the subgrade. The strength of the subgrade changes as the moisture level in the subgrade changes. It is therefore critical for an engineer to comprehend the precise nature of the relationship between subgrade strength and moisture variation. Understanding how the CBR strength of local soils is affected by water content will help to improve design and maintenance practices. The amount of saturation in the soil, i.e., the amount of water exposed to the soil, can affect the strength of the subgrade. As a result, an attempt was made in this study to vary the degree of soaking and thus the saturation level in various types of soils, as well as to investigate the engineering properties of soils, including CBR, at various saturation levels. The worst engineering properties are observed for coarse-grained soils after three days of soaking, and the same is observed for fine-grained soils after four days. Read More...

In this modern world, people are growing more sedentary. This is indeed a phrase that relates to the decrease in physical activity. This decreases the overall oxygen concentration within their bodies. As a result, their artery cells are stimulated, resulting in spider veins. This mostly affects our lower limbs, but it can damage any part of our body. This condition, called "spider vein" or "varicose vein," develops whenever a vascular artery clogs, and it is often highly uncomfortable. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, the data obtained is employed to construct a predetermined database. The preconfigured information serves as a prepared lower limit. This component would analyse the information about a person's location. Seating, knee flexion, and motions throughout the duration are all information which should be examined. This accumulation data can also be processed in the Ardiuno microcontroller (98dB) with the use of an EMG CMMR electrode. It is a non-invasive varicose veins diagnostic and treatment procedure that depends upon artificial vibration production. Read More...

Causes, Prevention and Repair of Crack in Building a Review
-Dikshita Chavhan ; Prof. Shruti Ladvikar; Praful Kokane; Akhil Kokate; Shital Thakur
Crack construction is the most common type of problem in any type of building. So, it is important to understand the cause and the measures to be taken for prevention. Some erroneous steps during construction and the inevitable reasons for different types of cracks begin to appear in different parts of the building and non-building. Therefore, timely identification of such cracks and preventive measures is essential. Though cracks in concrete cannot be prevented entirely but they can be controlled by using adequate material and technique of construction and considering design criteria. Structural cracks are the one whose inherent cause lies in either in incorrect design, or faulty construction or overloading and are the one which can endanger the safety of a given structure. On the other hand, the non-structural cracks are the one which have the underlying origin due to moisture or thermal fluctuations, elastic deformation, creep, chemical reaction, or reason related to the foundation soil such as it movement or settlement or unhindered vegetation. Non-structural cracks are usually caused by stress caused inside the building materials and this usually does not directly cause structural deterioration. In this paper, we will discuss the types of cracks, the causes of cracks and the precautionary measures to be taken and the strategies for treating cracks. Read More...
