An Investigation of the Strength and Workability of High Volume Different Standard Grades Concrete of Fly Ash
-Apurba Debabrata Sinha ; Jyoti Yadav
The use of a High Volume of Fly Ash in concrete is becoming more important and is seen as a sustainable choice for many concrete buildings. However, as time goes on, the strength of HVFA concrete becomes steadily stronger. This has been shown via several tests. Comparable prices, higher strength, and improved workability may be found in HVFA Concrete. It is thus more suited for warm-weather sand when early strength is less critical. High Volume Fly Ash Concrete's workability and strength are shown in this project. Progressing construction methods focus on high-strength, thick, and consistent surface texture, extra trustworthy quality, enhanced sturdiness, and faster building. Regarding its predecessors, such as High Strength Concrete (HSC) and High-Performance Concrete (HPC), this project demonstrates the development of High Volume Fly Ash Concrete for building purposes (HPC). HVFA concrete acquired strength at a slower pace than conventional concrete, according to this study. By the time it is 60 days old, HVFA concrete is as strong as regular concrete. Read More...

Application of Waste Foundry Sand for Evolution of Low Cost Concrete
-Natasha Nagle ; Prof. Dilendra Jasutkar; Prof. Hiradas Lilhare
Metal foundries use large amounts of sand as part of the metal casting process. Foundries successfully recycle and reuse the sand many times in the casting process. When the sand can no longer be reused in the foundry, it is removed from the foundry and is termed as foundry waste sand. The generation of waste foundry sand as a byproduct of metal casting industries causes environmental problems because of its improper disposal. Thus, its usage in building material, construction, and other fields is essential for the reduction of environmental problems. Like many waste products, foundry sand has beneficial applications to other industries. Foundry sand consists primarily of silica sand, coated with a thin film of burnt carbon, residual binder (bentonite, sea coal, resins) and dust. Foundry sand can be used in concrete to improve its strength and other durability factors. Foundry sand can be used as a partial replacement of cement or as a partial replacement of fine aggregates or total replacement of fine aggregate and as a supplementary addition to achieve different properties of concrete. This research is carried out to produce a low-cost and eco-friendly concrete. This work demonstrates the use of waste foundry sand as a partial replacement by fine aggregate in concrete. An experimental investigation is carried out on a concrete containing waste foundry sand in the range of 0%,10%,20%,30% 40%, and 50% by weight for M-25 grade concrete (PCC). Material was produced, tested, and compared with conventional concrete in terms of workability and strength. These tests were carried out on a standard cube of 150*150*150* mm for 7, 14, and 28 days to determine the mechanical properties of concrete. Through experimental results the variation of compressive strength with the partial replacement of waste foundry sand can be found out. This work aims to know the behavior and mechanical properties of concrete after the addition of industrial waste in different proportions by tests like compressive strength. Read More...

An Investigation into the Flexural and Bending Properties of Activated Fly Ash Concrete
-Apurba Debabrata Sinha ; Jyoti Yadav
In many infrastructure projects, cement concrete is the most extensively utilized building material. The construction industry is increasingly developing and using mineral admixtures for cement substitution, owing to cost savings, energy savings, environmental production, and resource conservation. The goal of this research is to replace cement in concrete with activated fly ash. The chemical activation of low calcium fly ash is highlighted in the article. Activation of fly ash is now widely used to improve the efficacy of fly ash and speed up the pozzolanic qualities of the material. Activated fly ash enhances the strength and durability of concrete at an early age, as well as its corrosion resistance. The fly ash is activated using a variety of processes, including mechanical (physical), thermal, and chemical activation. Chemical activation of fly ash by alkaline activators (i.e. alkaline solutions of high alkaline concentration chemicals like gypsum, sodium silicate and calcium oxide, KOH, etc.) improves the effectiveness of fly ash by dissolving the glassy layer of fly ash particles in cement concrete, increasing corrosion resistance. Chemical treatment of fly ash using chemical activators is used in this dissertation to increase its quality. The mechanical parameters of activated fly ash concrete, including compressive strength, split tensile strength, flexural strength, and flexural strength of active fly ash reinforced concrete beams, are investigated. Chemicals such as sodium silicate and calcium oxide are utilized to activate the fly ash at the ratio of 1:8 for this project. Read More...

A Review Paper on Change in Properties of Pervious Concrete by Using Fly Ash
-Karan Choudhary ; Avinash kumar
The pervious concrete block is used to make the pavement which is able to pass the water through it. The pervious concrete block is a specific type of block which have high porosity; the main objective of porous concrete is to recharge the groundwater table by using precipitation. Due to the lowering of the groundwater table, there were any adverse effects seen. The porous concrete block also helps in reducing the chance of flood since it takes a large amount of floodwater to recharge the ground. The reason for the porosity is large interconnected voids that help in the passing of water through it. Due to the large interconnected gaps, the infiltration rate is high. The pavements made from pervious concrete block are suitable for low traffic load such as local street, cycling, footpath are most suitable for pervious concrete block pavement. Read More...

High Resolution Satellite Images are of a significant importance in many fields of research. For the last few decades Wavelets are playing a key role in image resolution enhancement technique. Gaussian component densities instead of weighted sum of neighborhood pixels such as bicubic or bilinear interpolations. There are numerous ripple domain primarily based strategies like AHE, separate ripple remodel, CLAHE, distinction and Stationary ripple transform. In this paper we use DWT transforms, these transforms decompose the given image into four sub-bands, out of that one is of low frequency and therefore the rest are of high frequency. It is proved with the quantitative (peak signal-to-noise ratio and quality index) and visual results over the conventional and state-of-art image resolution enhancement techniques. The HF parts are interpolated using typical interpolation techniques. Then we use IDWT to mix the interpolated high frequency and low frequency parts. Read More...

Stir casting is one of the unmistakable and affordable strategies for preparing particle reinforced metal matrix composites. Computational fluid dynamics simulation along with the optimization technique is one of the effectual combinations to guide experimental research. In this stir casting process, flow pattern is the important factor for the dispersion of particles in the liquid metal. However, a complete study of analyzing the flow pattern of the particle is a challenge for the research community. Effectual flow pattern and uniform distribution of particles can be attained by optimizing stir casting parameters such as volume concentration, blade angle, impeller position, viscosity and holding time. In this research, computational fluid dynamics has been used to find the vortex pressure which influences the particle distribution. With the help of results of CFD, the stir casting parameters are optimized using Taguchi method. Visualization experiments also help to choose the exact parameters that need to be optimized. Finite Element Analysis of Cob Wallettes Using Etabs
-Rahul Sanjay Kashid ; Sangketa Sangma
Present study conducted a novel analytical programme to evaluate the compression and shear behaviour of cob wallettes. Earthen material shows environmental advantages when used as building materials. There are several available techniques where these materials are employed with structural purposes, likely as earth blocks (adobe), compressed earth blocks (CEB), cob and rammed earth. Adobe masonry is built with earth block units laid with an earth mortar. The manufacture of adobe masonry usually follows the same principles as those used for fired clay brick masonry. This is the comparative study on the experimental results of rammed earth and cob in compression and shear behaviour of cob wallette’s reinforced with bamboo and steel mesh evaluated and finite element analysis of cob wallette’s using software that is by using Etabs. Earthen wallettes were tested in the laboratories within an experimental program whose goal was to derive the compressive and shear strength of the cob wallette’s reinforced with bamboo and steel mesh. The material characterization and its modelling are hardly predictable due the variability shown by the raw earthen materials. For this reason, a detailed characterization of the earthen materials properties is required when the use of complex constitutive laws is necessary. In addition, considering the aforementioned aspects, the constitutive model, selected referring to the material behaviour and the analysis computational demand, needs to provide a good match between representativeness, complexity, accuracy and reliability. The first part of the study presents the mechanical characterization of earthen materials carried out. Earthen wallettes were tested in the laboratories within an experimental program whose goal was to derive the basic mechanical properties to employ in the numerical simulation. The second part of the study deals with the numerical modelling of the earthen wallettes implemented in FEM software Etab. The aim of the finite element analysis is to simulate the non-linear shear behavior of earthen materials. For adobe masonry the non-linear constitutive laws are based on the multidirectional fixed crack model and combined interface model. The macro-modelling approach was considered for the simulation of the experimental results obtained. Additionally, the micro-modelling approach intended to evaluate the influence of the interfaces between layers on the shear behaviour of rammed earth and failure mechanism block-mortar in adobe masonry. -Vishwajeet ; Vikas Choudhary; Faisal Shameem
NACA 0012, a mathematical reproduction of tempestuous wind stream around a balanced airfoil, changed pair. They were changed at various approaches and acted in ANSYS 19. The advancement in research on the stream structure and streamlined qualities of an airfoil at a low Reynolds number, as experienced by close space low-speed airplanes and miniature air vehicles, is summed up in this Review. This work mathematically depicts the effect of adding miniature chamber, as a detached stream control around NACA0012 airfoil, on streamlined execution under different working circumstances. The outcomes showed that utilizing a chamber with width equivalent to driving edge breadth causes more strain drop as the pair hole diminished, seeing that this impact turns out to be more critical at a high approach. It additionally shows that the expansion in the width of the miniature chamber defers the slow down peculiarity. Besides, the wing streamlined execution are improved as drag is decreased and lift is upgraded. Read More...

Design, Analysis and Experimental Validation of 1TR Dual Inverter Air Conditioner Using R32
-Ashish Kumar ; Prof. Sanjay Mitkari; Dr. Dipak Patil; Dr. Adik Yadao; Anand Patil
In Air Conditioning application, it is very important to provide conditioned air at indoor side by maintaining the temperature, pressure, humidity, velocity and noise level of indoor air, by cooling and dehumidification psychrometric process when the outdoor side whether conditions are too hot and humid. To provide the conditioned cooling at indoor side through evaporative unit, the outdoor side unit having compressor along with condenser and expansion device should work efficiently according to vapor compression refrigeration cycle. Throughout this cycle, power consumption plays a crucial role. In conventional air conditioning systems, compressors were constant speed compressors and on off compressors, which consume more power respectively when compared to variable speed compressor i.e. inverter compressor. Here compressor is rotary type compressor. Inverter compressor works more efficiently by maintaining cooling capacity and consumes less power. Inverter compressor controls the motor drive speed input i.e. inverter controls the rotational speed of compressor by which we can control the quantity of refrigerant entering and leaving the compressor required to maintain the variable cooling capacity as per outdoor heat load conditions. The term dual inverter refers to two-stage compression of refrigerant using two rotors one after the other. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the performance evaluation of 1TR dual inverter air conditioner with two different refrigerants specified as 3 star model and five star model performed in psychrometric chamber. To validate the cooling capacity and reliability of the system, different temperature conditions are maintained at indoor and outdoor chambers. To determine the energy consumption for inverter air conditioner, ISEER (Indian Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) should be calculated according to bureau of energy efficiency (BEE). Refrigerants R32 is used in 5 star model and R410A used in 3 star model. Read More...
