The Mechanisn of Flavonoid Fraction of Ixora Coccinea in Attenuating Oxidative Damage and Inflammation in Adjuvant Induced Arthritis in Female Albino Rats
-Archana V ; Dr.Helen A
The purpose of the study was to investigate the efficacy of Flavonoid fraction of Ixora coccinea (L.) in reducing the oxidative damage and inflammation in adjuvant induced rat models. The preliminary screening of percentage paw edema inhibition by aqueous and methanolic extracts of Ixora coccinea in carrageenan induced rats were done. The percentage inhibition result showed that aqueous and methanolic extract of Ixora had maximum effect. A dose dependant study was done with different doses of ICFF such as 1mg/kg, 2mg/kg, 5mg/kg and 10mg/kg. 5mg/kg body weight ICFF retained the normal oxidation status. So 5mg/kg dose was selected for further studies in chronic inflammatory model using Freund's Complete Adjuvant (FCA). For the study the rats were divided into four groups- A control group, Adjuvant alone (1mg/kg body weight), Adjuvant +ICFF (5mg/kg body weight), Adjuvant+ Indomethacin (3mg/kg body weight). The results of the study suggest that flavonoid fraction of Ixora coccinea inhibit the inflammatory mediators like COX, LOX, NOS and MPO thereby decreasing the inflammation induced by an adjuvant. The administration of ICFF also down regulated the transcription factor NF-kB and thereby the expression of cytokines TNF-α and IL-6 in rats. Thus, the present study suggests that ICFF has potential anti-inflammatory activity. Hence the flavonoid fraction can be used as promising anti-inflammatory drug. Read More...

Analysis and Design of Flat Slab
-Atul Chavan ; Pritesh Deshmukh; Shreyash Shetti; Mithun Kumar; Navnath Khadake
Flat slab construction is a widely used technique in the construction industry due to its versatility, speed of construction, and ability to accommodate flexible column grids. However, this construction technique can lead to large bending moments and shear forces near the columns, which can result in cracks in the concrete and even failure of the slab. To address these issues, the paper proposes the use of column heads, which provide a larger area at the top of the column to distribute the stresses more evenly and reduce the risk of failure. The paper also reviews the design methods for flat slab structures based on Indian and American standards, which provide guidelines and recommendations for the design and construction of safe and efficient flat slab structures. Overall, the paper appears to provide valuable insights into the use of flat slab construction in India and the design methods for such structures based on established standards. Read More...

-Kajal Vasant Gaikwad ; Divya Chaudhari; Massera Sayyed; Adnan Shaikh; Prof.P.N.Pathak
Trying on new clothing at stores can be very difficult for people who are always conscious about their health in such times. This has caused people to turn to online shopping, but it also brings the problem of clothes being too loose or too tight and users have to return them often before finding the right size. Our project targets this problem by introducing a virtual fitting room, in which the users can scan their measurements perfectly and browse different styles and see how they would look in those clothes using Augmented Reality (AR) technology. Although Augmented reality (AR) implication has increased in the cosmetic industry, the technology seems to not be always accepted and used by consumers. This is a challenging issue calling further investigation. The present paper addresses this challenge in an attempt to provide the needed understanding on the key drivers of AR experience and how these might enhance the consumer purchase experience itself. After trying a product via virtual try-on, participants in the current study had to provide evaluation in terms of both AR and purchase experience. In addition, qualitative data including interviews are used to complement and interpret the results. The results show that virtual try-on affects the sales results: the average sales per customer increased by 14,000 won (13USD). The most important finding is that the return rate decreased by 27% by filtering out incorrect sizes and fits. Virtual try-on may very well replace physical fitting rooms. This study presents an advanced technology of 3D virtual try-on and shows that virtual try-on is an effective tool to boost sales and decrease customer's returns in a case study of women's casual L brand. Fiber reinforced soils have become one of the construction materials in civil engineering. Construction of building and other civil engineering structures on availability clayey soil is highly risky, on geotechnical grounds due to poor strength properties of the clayey soil. There may be the need for soil treatment to improve the engineering properties of soil. The purpose of this investigation is to identify and quantify the influence of coir fiber on performance of fiber reinforced soil specimens. In this study, coir fiber mixed with clayey soil in various proportions (0%, 0.5%, 1.0% and 1.5% by weight of dry clayey soil) to investigate the relative strength gained in terms of compaction CBR & Unconfined Compressive strength. The results clearly indicate that 1.5% coir fiber when unsoaked have noticeable influence on CBR value of expansive soil it improved from 1.03 to 2.04. As well as the CBR values after curing for 28 days also showed an increase by 15% after soaking. The unconfined compressive strength was improved by 60% at 1% coir fiber. The UCS also showed an increase about 23% after curing for 28 days. This is because of composite effect of waste materials, which changes the brittle behavior of soil to ductile behavior. So from this study we can state that coir fiber is a good material to enhance the soil properties. Read More...

News Text Summarization Using Latent Semantic Analysis (LSA) Algorithm
-Manisha M. Langote ; Dr. Ranjit Gawande
In proposed work, we successfully implemented a news text summarization system using Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and the Latent Semantic Analysis (LSA) algorithm. The purpose of our project was to extract important information from a large volume of news articles and present it in a concise and easily understandable manner. To achieve this, we utilized the LSA algorithm, which is known for its ability to capture the underlying semantic structure of text. LSA employs a mathematical model to analyse relationships between words in a document, creating a semantic representation where words with similar contexts are grouped together in a vector space. The LSA-based summarization process involved several steps. First, we pre-processed the news articles by removing stop words, punctuation, and other non-relevant elements. Then, we constructed a term-document matrix, where rows represented words and columns represented documents, with matrix values representing word frequencies. Next, we applied Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) to the term-document matrix. SVD helped reduce the matrix's dimensionality by identifying the most important latent semantic concepts. This resulted in a lower-dimensional representation that captured the essential information. Finally, we identified the most important sentences in the news articles by measuring the cosine similarity between each sentence and the summary. Sentences with the highest cosine similarity scores were selected as summary sentences. The proposed system demonstrated the effectiveness of the LSA algorithm for news text summarization. By capturing the semantic structure of the text, it generated summaries that allowed users to understand the key points of a news article quickly and easily. Our implementation had practical applications for content recommendation systems, news aggregation platforms, and personalized news feeds. However, it is important to acknowledge the limitations of the LSA algorithm. It may struggle with handling idiomatic expressions and can be sensitive to the quality of the input data. These considerations highlight the need for ongoing research and development to enhance the performance and robustness of news text summarization systems. Read More...

Compared to traditional methods, the Internet infrastructure has undergone enormous advancements. The internet is a strategy for building a world in which all objects, people, and services are linked to one another and capable of interacting and working together to aid in the gathering, storing, exchanging, and monitoring of data. Therefore, extra care and protection are needed for extremely confidential patient health information. The availability and affordability of the Internet have created the rise of a healthcare trend known as e-healthcare. The steganographic algorithm LSB is used to encrypt patient health information/prescription which is embedded in a digital host before begin sent to the network, thus their existence is uncertain in nature. In addition to adding an extra layer of security, the cryptographic algorithm MD5 Hash function enables the validation process from the stego image to decrypt the patient's health information/prescription and MRI images. In the case of text data, the base 64 encoding algorithm will be used to encode and store text data in the database. Two things will be checked, the image will be decrypted, if there is an MRI in the database and else the data will be unlocked if not. After verification, the health information and prescription for the patient will be recovered.
