An Introduction to Fuel Cell Technology and Application: Alternative Energy System for Future
-Anil Kumar Rao ; Khuvendra Yadav
A fuel cell is most interesting new power source because it solves not only the environment problem but also natural resource exhaustion problem. In this paper a description of fuel cell operating principles is followed by a comparative analysis of the current fuel cell technology together with issues concerning various fuels. Appropriate applications for current and perceived potential advances of fuel cell technology are discussed. A brief account on evolution and working of different fuel cells namely SOFC, PEMFC, DFMC, PAFC, MCFC and AFC followed by their comparative analysis The potential application of fuel cells can be used in automotive vehicle in low cost that gives high performance and high efficiency. This investigation examines the economics of producing electricity from fuel cell systems under various conditions, including the possibility of using fuel cell vehicles (FCVs) to produce power when they are parked at office buildings and residences. The analysis shows that the economics of both stationary fuel cell and FCV-based power vary significantly with variations in key input variables such as the price of natural gas, electricity prices, fuel cell and reformer system costs, and fuel cell system durability levels. The Grid-connected FCVs in commercial settings can also potentially supply electricity at competitive rates in some cases producing significant annual benefits particularly attractive is the combination of net metering along with time of- use electricity rates that allow power to be supplied to the utility grid at the avoided cost of central power plant generation. FCV based power at individual residences does not appear to be as attractive, at least where FCV power can only be used directly or banked with the utility for net metering and not sold in greater quantity, due to the low load levels at these locations that provide a poor match to automotive fuel cell operation, higher natural gas prices than are available at commercial settings, and other factors. In the long term, a hydrogen-based economy will have an impact on all these sectors. In view of technological developments, vehicle and component manufacturers, transport providers, the energy industry, and even householders are seriously looking at alternative energy sources and fuels and more efficient and cleaner technologies - especially hydrogen and hydrogen-powered fuel cells. At the end of the paper some potential application of fuel cell that are capable of catalyzing revolutionary impact on energy scenario are being discussed, along with the advantages and disadvantages/ limitations of fuel cells. THE FUTURE OF BIO DIESEL
-Mina Sahu ; Satwindar kour; Madhu lata Dhruwe; Prakash Kumar Sen; Shailendra Kumar Bohidar
Fuels are of great importance in our daily life because they can be burned to produce significant amounts of energy. Fossil fuel contributes about 80% of the world’s energy needs. Most industries use diesel machines for the production process. In the transportation sector, private vehicles, buses, trucks, and ships also consume significant amounts of diesel and gasoline. Fossil oils are fuels which come from ancient animals and microorganisms. Fossil fuel formation requires millions of years. Thus, fossil oils belong to non-renewable energy sources. It is necessary to look for alternatives fuels which can be produced from resources available in atmosphere within country such as alcohol, bio diesel, vegetable oil etc. Biodiesel production is a important field of research because the relevance it gains from the rising petroleum price and its environmental advantages. This paper reviews the recent developments of Biodiesel, including the different types of biodiesel, resources of bio diesel conversion technologies and production of bio diesel. The challenges of biodiesel industry development and the biodiesel policy are discussed as well. Read More...

Parametric Study of Dual Structural System Using NLTH Analysis
-Ismaeel Mohammed ; S.M. HASHMI
The dual structural system consisting of ordinary moment resisting frame (OMRF) and concrete shear wall has better seismic performance due to improved lateral stiffness and strength. It is obvious that a well-designed system of shear walls (non-planar c shape or core type) in a building frame improves its seismic performance, but in this paper, study is carried out on planar shear walls. For the research purpose the time history function (BHUJ) is applied in the direction orthogonal to the planar shear wall towards which the seismic performance is inferior compared to its application along the shear wall direction. An in-elastic (nonlinear) analysis is carried out for the evaluation of seismic performance. The configurations of symmetric RC moment resisting framed building structure with five different arrangements of planar shear walls are considered for evaluation using nonlinear time history analysis, so as to arrive at the best suited pattern of shear wall in the structural framing system. A comparison of structural behavior in terms of strength, stiffness and damping characteristics is done by studying the parameters like time period, base shear, overturning moments, storey displacements and drifts by arranging shear walls at five different patterns in the structural framing system. Cloud computing provide different services on internet using different service models. With the increases benefits and demands of cloud computing infrastructure, real time cloud applications can be performed on cloud infrastructure. A real time application can take advantage of demanding computing capabilities and scalable virtualized environment of cloud computing to execute real time tasks. In most of the real time cloud applications, processing is done on remote node in cloud computing. So there are more chances to occur errors or faults. The major problem area in cloud computing is fault tolerance. In this paper, we propose a model to analyze how system tolerates the faults and make decision on the basics of reliability of the Virtual machines that are processing nodes. In this proposed system, reliability is assessing using resource availability of all each virtual machine which provides correct output within time limit. So the reliability is calculated on basis of correctness, timeliness and resource availability for fault tolerance. Read More...

Analysis of Axle Loadings and Determination of vehicle Damage Factor and Design of Overlay for Outer Ring Road in Bangalore , Karnataka
-Sunil Kumar R ; Sri. Manjunatha.S; Dr.B.V.Kiran Kumar; Sri. P. Praveen Kumar
Over loading by commercial trucks in India is a serious problem. The over loaded trucks stress the road structure beyond safe bearing capacity. Traffic load is dominant function on pavement design because the main function of pavement is to resist traffic load. Efforts to repair of the road damages have been done, but almost meaningless since the overloading trucks keep in progress, even reached twofold from the normal load. In this work vehicle damage factors (VDF) is determined for single, dual, or multiaxle trucks. Average equivalent axle factors per vehicle. It can be seen that an average vehicle on the road adopted as case study, possesses an average equivalent factor of 3.0 which is about three times the standard axle weight for road pavements. This implies that an average truck on this road, used as case study causes the same pavement damage as three standard axles would cause. It shows that, there is high degree of overloading on the said road which is one of the major causes of pavement deterioration .The required overlay thickness has been calculated using WINFLEX 2000 software. The result analysis shows that the maximum axle loads were carried 3-axle trucks they carry the maximum average rear1axle load upto 10.45 tonnes and 10.16 tonnes on rear2 axle .So we need to prevent the trucks which were carrying wheel load more than 10 tonnes, otherwise they need an overlay thickness of 152mm. Overlay thickness for gross average loads of overall truck was 152 mm. From economical point of view providing 152mm thickness is not feasible, so as much as possible over loaded vehicles should be avoided on this road. From the results we have concluded that, enforced the 2-axle and 3-axle trucks which were carrying bulk manufactures, mining and quarrying. Read More...

A Framework for Correlated Pattern Mining in Intraday Stock Trading Transactions
-Rajeshwari.K.Gundla ; R.V. Argiddi
The search for association rules in market is one of the most prominent studied problems in Data Mining. This problem often referred as association rule mining and also roughly as correlation mining. Association rules are intended to identify patterns of the type: "A customer purchasing item X often also purchases item Y." These associations identified further can be generalized as correlations and dependencies among the item sets. Highly motivated by the inferential nature of association rule mining and its implementation feasible nature for applications beyond market basket data, we develop the notion of correlated patterns in Stock Market Trading and further focus around trading patterns during In traday period. A typical Inter transaction association rule mining in Stock Market is of form "If company ABC's stocks go up on day one then company XYZ's stocks goes down on day two", these inter transaction rules highlight associations between different transactions. We in our work propose a framework which would find and describe relevance of inter-transaction associations mined as intraday patterns to transactions with inter transaction associations mined across inter day patterns. We use modular approach for designing the system for its easy integration and scalability. This proposed modular framework will be put to test by using data obtained from Indian Stock Market using stock feed extractors for Intraday Trading volume data for Stocks. Read More...

Breakthrough in the inconsistencies to nuclear fusion: nanotechnology assisted nuclear fusion
-Vihir H. Raykundaliya ; Mudit Vajpayee
At present the usage of electricity is more than it had ever been. So, to meet such high demands of electricity, we need to burn tonnes of coal daily. Scientists, on the other side look forward to the nuclear reactions as a tremendous scope of energy. Nuclear fission and nuclear fusion are two main types of nuclear reactions that produce energy. We talk here about the nuclear fusion reactions. The simple idea behind the nuclear fusion is to fuse the nuclei of elements with atomic numbers lower than iron, to release their binding energy. But, as per the potential energy versus interatomic distance graph, to bring two nuclei closer than the interatomic stable distance, they need to overcome the columbic repulsive forces. This can be made possible only if they have very high kinetic energies. These high kinetic energies are conventionally obtained by increasing the ambient temperature to the order of 106 Kelvin. But to produce such high temperatures and further to maintain them is very costly. So the vast seawater that houses the required hydrogen in plenty remains unused. This paper focuses mainly on the utilization of nanotechnology in performing nuclear fusion reactions. The advancements in nanotechnology provide us with a wide scope to be able to handle processes at the atomic level and even manipulate some of the processes. This advancement in nanotechnology can be used to energise hydrogen nuclei for neutronic; or deuteron and helium nuclei for aneutronic nuclear fusion reaction. This paper discusses the elaborate processes to harness the above discussed goal, its advantages and applications and probable challenges and even their solutions. Read More...

Distance Based Greedy Routing in VANET
-Ms. Prajakta V. Ambekar ; Prof. Nilesh R. Wankhade
Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) have become viable and valuable for their wide variety of novel applications, such as safety of road, content sharing of multimedia, commerce on wheels, etc, using advanced wireless technologies. Distribution of multi-hop information in VANETs is constrained by the high mobility of vehicles and the frequent disconnections. Geographic routing do not require route maintenance and route construction phases hence they are widely adopted for VANETs. With connectivity awareness, they perform well in terms of reliable delivery. Flooding is use in some protocols to obtain destination position. Further in case of regions like sparse and void regions, upraise hop count by frequent use of the recovery strategy. Some geographic routing protocols adopt the minimum weighted algorithm depending on distance or connectivity to select intermediate intersections. However, the path with higher connectivity or the shortest path may include numerous intermediate intersections. Therefore, these protocols yield routing paths with higher hop count. In this paper, we propose a distance based greedy routing and hop greedy routing scheme that yields a routing path with the minimum number of intermediate intersection nodes while taking connectivity into consideration. Moreover, back-bone nodes are introduced that play a key role in providing connectivity status around an intersection. Also the back-bone nodes allow packet to be forwarded in the changed direction by tracking the movement of source as well as destination. Distance based greedy routing overcomes the limitations of a Hop Greedy Routing algorithms. In this paper we have considered design and implementation of routing algorithms that will provide maximum packet delivery ratio and minimum end to end delay. Read More...

Learning to Rank Search Result for Time-Sensitive Queries
-Shivangi Shah ; Ms. Jasmine Jha
In recent years, semantic search for relevant documents on web has been an important topic of research. The World Wide Web consists of millions of interconnected web pages that provide information to the users. The WWW is expanding and growing in size and the complexity of the web pages. That's why it is necessary to retrieve the best or the web pages that are more relevant in terms of information for the query entered by the users [1]. Time is an important dimension of relevance for a large number of searches, such as over blogs and news archives. The search is generally carried out based on the similarity of the documents being searched for. , and then "boosts" the scores of the most recent documents, to privilege recent documents over older ones. Unfortunately, topic similarity alone is not always sufficient for document ranking. Earlier work was based on improving retrieval for "recency" queries that target recent documents. Retrieval of temporal queries can be improved by considering the time dimension implicitly or explicitly. [5] Read More...

Survey Paper on Creation of Dynamic Query Form for Mining Highly Optimized Transactional Databases
-Pooja Suthar ; Ms. Jasmine Jha
In Scientific databases and web databases maintain large and heterogeneous data. The databases contain over hundreds or thousands of relations and attributes of data. Previously defined old query forms are not able to satisfy various ad-hoc queries from users on those databases. Dynamic query form, a new approach for generating database query form interface is used to dynamically generate query forms. The use of DQF is to capture a user's interests, preferences and rank query form components, assisting user to make decisions without actually typing queries. The dynamic query form is an iterative process and is guided by the user. The system automatically generates dynamic ranking lists of form components and the user then adds the desired form components into the query form. Ranking of form components can be done based on the captured user interests. User can also modify previously generated query forms and by fill the query form and submit queries to see the query result. A query form could be dynamically refined until the user satisfies with the query results. Read More...

Literature Survey on Extraction of Top-k Lists from Web Pages
-Darshana R. Dabhi ; Ms. Jasmine Jha
The web contains data in huge amounts. This data is a large source of information. All this information is in the form of structured or unstructured data. List is a crucial source of structured data on the web. Ranking the list data is generously important for information retrieval. Tremendous efforts have been done for extracting information from the structured data, especially from web tables, which contain quality information. Instead of focusing on context- free structured data, we aim to focus on context that we can spot, and then using the context to render less controlled information and proceed to its extraction. Here we highlight expensive as well as, rich source of information on the web, those are top-k web pages. Top-k web pages contain rich and quality information. They aim to identity the top attribute values for the entities of interest. Extraction of such lists can help answering engines to generate different fact and can act as a pre-processing step. -Parth C. Patel ; Jignesh Vania
Search engines play an important role in retrieving and arranging relevant data for various purposes in today's e-world. Internet is highly used to get information and satisfy user needs in these days. But, in real the relevancy of results given by search engines are still disputable because of its results having huge amount of irrelevant and unnecessary results and user information needs are not satisfied on submission of uncertain query to search engine, because different types of user needs different information for a same query fired to a search engine on various facet. So discovery of different user search goals becomes complicated. Web mining is sufficient and powerful research area from which retrieval of relevant information from the web resources can becomes faster and better. To improve user experience and search engine relevance the evaluation and illustration of user search goals can be very useful. Web usage mining is very important in deciding user search goals. Different user search goals can be discovered by analyzing user query logs from various search engines. Different user search goals from click through logs for a query can be clustered and the user feedback sessions can be useful to discover different user search goals and restructure the web search results. World Wide Web is being prolonged by an impulsive speed. As a result, search engines encounter many challenges such as yielding accurate and conversant results to the users, and responding them in an appropriate timely manner. A crawler is a program that downloads and stores Web pages, often for a Web search engine. Web crawler (also known as a Web spider or Web robot) is a program or automated script which browses the World Wide Web crawlers are mainly used to create a copy of all the visited pages for later processing by a search engine, which will index the downloaded pages to provide fast searches. We have proposed an amalgamation of Path-mounting crawler with the page ranking algorithm that computes a set of PageRank vectors. The advantage with Path-mounting crawler is that they are very effective in finding isolated resources, or resources for which no inbound link would have been found in regular crawling. Read More...

Enhancement of HSWA-TCP Congestion Avoidance Scheme for High Speed Satellite Communication Network
-Prof. Riddhi P. Pandya ; Prof. Ayesha S. Shaikh
The Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) is the mostly used protocol for data transmission over terrestrial-wire line networks. However, TCP's congestion control algorithm wasn't created to match the special characteristics (long delay and high Bit Error Rate) of satellite links, resulting in a drastically performance degradation. For high speed satellite communication networks to match its characteristics such as long delay and high Bit Error Rate several protocols are designed. SCPS-TP is one of the protocols designed for satellite networks but its throughput is low in high speed satellite environment. SCPS-TP congestion avoidance algorithm is modified to adapt the characteristics of high speed satellite communication network which is called the HSWA-TCP. HSWA-TCP is simulated and results show that performance of HSWA-TCP decays very sharply in high BER. To overcome these limitations Enhanced HSWA-TCP protocol is developed which depends not only on RTT and BER but also on bandwidth estimation. Enhanced HSWA-TCP continuously estimate bandwidth utilized by the sender, and based on that adjusts the cwnd rather than just at the time of packet loss. Simulation results show that, Enhanced HSWA-TCP throughput is improved and remain constant even in high BER and on average, throughput of Enhanced HSWA-TCP is 56% improved compare to HSWA-TCP. In this paper, we propose a new design and implementation method in supporting a smart surveillance system that can automatically detect abandoned objects in public places such as bus stations, train stations or airports, etc.. The developing system is implemented by using image processing techniques. In the circumstance such as when suspicious objects i.e. unattended objects have been detected, the system will alert to people responsible for the role such as security guards or security staff. In this paper, we also differentiate between the stationary objects and the objects that are in motion. The detection process consists of four major components: 1) Image extraction from live video feed 2) Image Processing 3) Object Detection and 4) Result Presentation. In this paper we put our attention into background subtraction algorithm for detection of object in low quality video i.e. improve accuracy. Read More...

The influence of using stress feature on reducing stress in spure gear.
-Pratik Maheshwari ; Aum thacker
Gears generally fail when the working stress exceeds the maximum permissible stress. Number of studies has been done by various authors to analyze the gear for stresses. Gears have been analyses for different points of contact on the tooth profile and the corresponding points of contact on the pinion. In this study the technology of gears is presented along with the various types of failures that gears have. The causes of these failures are studied and one type of stress related failure due to fatigue failure of a gear tooth due to stress concentration is detailed. This work presents the stress redistribution by introducing the stress relieving features in the stressed zone to the reduction of root fillet stress in spur gear. In this work circular stress relieving features are used and better results are obtained. A finite element model with a segment of three teeth is considered for analysis and stress relieving features of various diameters are introduced on gear teeth. Analysis revealed that circular stress relieving feature at specific locations is beneficial. Read More...

SENSOR LESS CONTROL OF Z-SOURCE INVERTER FED BLDC MOTOR USING SLIDING MODE OBSERVER
-K.Kalpanadevi ; S.Sivaranjani; M.Ramesh kanna
Z – source inverters have been recently proposed as an alternative power conversion concept as they have both voltage buck and Boost capabilities. These inverters use a unique impedance network, coupled between the power source and converter circuit, to provide both voltage buck and boost properties, which cannot be achieved with conventional voltage source and current source inverters. This paper deals with sensor less control of Z-source inverter under Direct torque control to get an instantaneous torque control. Sliding mode observer is a parameter for estimating the phase to phase trapezoidal back-EMF in sensor less mode. Z-source inverter is used to boost up the voltage. The simulation results of Z-source inverter is shown. Read More...

REVIEW ON IMPACT OF CONTROLLING TECHNIQUES ON THE PERFORMANCE OF BLDC MOTOR
-RAMESHKANNA.M ; SHIVARANJANI.S; KALPANADEVI.K
This paper presents a comparative study on speed control of BLDC motor using various controlling techniques. Speed control of BLDC motor can be achieved by estimating different parameters such as rotor speed, position and phase-to-phase BEMF and torque through DTC, P, PI& PID control, Fuzzy logic PI control, CCSVM based control and sliding mode control. Now a day the demand of BLDC motor increases due to their high efficiency, simpler structure, better controllability and large torque to inertia ratio compared to BLAC motors. In many applications, obtaining a low-frequency ripple-free torque and instantaneous torque and even flux control are of primary concern for BLDC motors with non sinusoidal back-EMF. It is very much essential to propose a study to know about the effectiveness of the control methods employed for BLDC motor drives. Hence a theoretical study is developed and the results obtained by simulation are presented to show the effectiveness of the various methods. Read More...

PATTERN MATCHING ALGORITHM DEVELOPMENT
-Kanumporn Asawasiriroj
String matching is a fundamental problem in computer science. The main problem is to find all occurrences in the text file. Normally, string matching algorithms consist of two processes. First is the comparison between each character of a pattern and a substring. Second is to determining the position of the next comparison. Those are called the pre-processing phase and the searching phase. In the searching phase if increase the shifting value, the algorithm must has more performance. This thesis has improved the algorithm by choosing the maximum of shift value and apply with Raita compare ordering technique. The testing environments are simulated and the results are compared with other traditional algorithms and many types of text files used too. From the experimental results, the improved algorithm outperformed other string matching algorithms currently in use in all cases of text files that are tested in this research. Read More...

Stegnography Using Visual Cryptography, RSA and DWT
-Madhuri Ghuge ; Prof.Kanchan Doke
Visual cryptography (VC) schemes encrypt a secret image into two or more cover images, called shares. The secret image can be reconstructed by stacking the shares together. Encoding data based on binary encoding methods and visual cryptography schemes is used to share pixels of a covert data to form two shadow matrices. Then, the two shadow matrices are encoded into a host image to form an overt image. The overt image contains matrix in encrypted form that is derived from two shadow matrices using RSA algorithm. Encrypted matrices are embedded in host image. This method makes use of binary encoding, visual cryptography, cryptography and Haar transform for hiding data into image. Read More...

Identifying Fingerprint Using Wavelet
-Er.Prerna Bansal ; Er. Meenakshi Sharma
Fingerprint evidence is undoubtedly the most reliable and acceptable evidence till date in the court of law. Fingerprints are obtained at the site of crime and in many old monuments and in excavated things. Estimating the gender of fingerprints is an emerging field and many methods using the fingerprint physical features like the ridge count and the ridge thickness have been used so far. Due to the immense potential of fingerprints as an effective method of identification an attempt has been made in the present work to analyze their correlation with gender of an individual using frequency domain technique and a pattern recognition technique. The performance of a fingerprint recognition system highly relies on the quality of the fingerprint images. The enhancement is an essential step required to improve the quality of the fingerprint image. In this paper, we propose a enhancement method based on Gabor filtering in wavelet domain. Read More...

Restructure of Electricity Market in India: A Business Prospective
-Sumit Saroha ; Ajay Kumar; Harjeet Singh; Chitwan Jain
In the regulated regimes many of the old, inefficient or obsolete plants may continue to function and recover investments while in the competitive regimes they may be out of the market. One of the important aspects of Electricity Act'03 is to bring about completion in Indian Power Market. Short term trading in electricity is an important step in this direction. The most basic factors that influence the prices in any market are demand and supply. But in case of electricity, the prices are essentially influenced by demand and not supply. It is because the generating cost of the sellers in a power market either remains constant or varies over a narrow range. While bilateral trading is in existence for quite some years, collective transaction through power exchange has become a reality only in 2008, with the commencement of Power Exchange in India. The purpose of bringing competition in the regulated Indian market is quite beneficial. So this paper fall the light on electricity business in India on the basis of power exchange prospective by considering the electricity Act 2003. Read More...

-K.S.Mohan ; M.Udhayamoorthi; D.Sridhar; C.senthilkumar
The mobile communication users have two types, primary user and secondary user. That communication, to register the users based on bandwidth and priority. The primary user registered in high bandwidth and high priority and also the secondary user registered in low bandwidth and low priority. Those users also called licensed users. The mobile communication used for Cognitive Radio Networks (CRNs). In that mobile communication have some scheduling problem and traffic analysis. Those problems are mainly effected the secondary users. The Spectrum Switching Delay Aware Scheduling Algorithm (SSDASA) and Handoff protocol used to avoid those problems. To formulate a scheduling problem that takes into account different hardware delays experienced by the secondary users (SUs) in a centralized cognitive radio networks (CRNs) while switching to different frequency bands. The simulation results indicate the proposed algorithm is robust to changes in the hardware spectrum switching delay and its performance is very close to its upper bound. To compare the proposed method with the corresponding constant switching delay based algorithm and demonstrate that suggestion of taking into account the different hardware delays while switching to different frequency bands is essential for scheduling in Cognitive Radio Networks.
