Filter Rod Detection By Using Poka Yoke
-Girase Karishma ; Jain Aditi; Yavankar Sakshi
Diesel fuel is a complex mixture of hydrocarbons and it is well known that in extreme cold operating conditions some of these (paraffin) form wax crystals that will block the fuel filter and prevent engine operation. Also, due to dust and foreign particles engine may get damage. Filtration is mainly done with filter rod. If this rod is missing, then filter will not work properly and hence will result into the dysfunction. Poka-yoke is a concept in total quality management which is related to restricting errors at source itself. It deals with "fail-saving" or "mistake-proofing". A poka-yoke is any idea generation or mechanism development in a total productive management process that helps operator to avoid (yokeru) mistakes (poka). The concept was generated, and developed by Shigeo Shingo for the Toyota Production System. This paper is based on project for detection of the missing filter rod by using Poka yoke method. Design and Analysis of IIR Peak & Notch Filter
-Ravi Choudhary ; Pankaj Rai
The design and analysis of infinite impulse response (IIR) peak and notch filter has been performed, which is employed various communication systems to eliminate unwanted narrow band interference. In communication system, radio frequency band for FM lies between 88MHZ - 108MHZ. A method for design of digital peak and notch filter of center frequency 90MHZ has been presented. Two parametric values like pass band ripple & stop band attenuation have been calculated by using mathematical modelling. Various transposed second order system (SOS) algorithm such as direct form I and II elliptic design method have been applied. By tuning quality (Q)-factor, peak filter (order 4) and notch filter (order 2) for range of Q between 2 -18 and 2 –100000 respectively have been generated with the help of different RF & AF oscillator. Filter approximation and order of the notch and peak filter determines overall performance in terms of multiplier, adder, no. of states, multi per input sample (MPIS) and add per input Sample (APIS) narrow band interference. From the realization perspective, the filter consumes more power and becomes more complex with increase in filter order. It is easy to implement in communication at transmitter or receiver point and has good communication system response. The observed settling time & fixed bandwidth gain confirms the performance of designed filter. Read More...

Experimental Investigation of Machining Time in Turning Mild Steel Component using Multi Tool Turning Method
-Pradeep T Patokar ; Dr. S P Trikal; Chinmay V Patil
The basic endeavor in any production process is to produce an acceptable component at the minimum possible cost. In order to achieve this objective in metal cutting or metal machining, many attempts have been made in several different ways; such as optimizing the tool life in order to minimize the production cost, maximizing the production rate to reduce the production cost, etc. but no single effort has been found fully successful because of the numbers of complexities involved in the process. For example, if cutting speed is reduced in order to enhance the tool life, the metal removal rate is also reduced and therefore, the production cost increased. A similar effect is observed if the efforts have been made to increase tool life by reducing the feed rate and depth of cut. Against this, if the effort is made to increase the production rate or to reduce the machining time by substantially increasing the cutting speed, feed and depth of cut, the tool life shortens and therefore, tooling cost increases and so the total production cost is also increased. A balance is therefore required to be stuck and a reasonable cutting speed determined, corresponding to which an economical tool life will be ensured and an economical production will result. The present study introduces one such method of improving the production rate in turning operation. Read More...

As the energy is the backbone of the technology it affects the price of product as well as the overall economy of the industry. Energy is the most important factor in industrial production as well as in the domestic use ecofriendly system as it uses solar power. Assun is the huge source of energy solar energy is the perfect alternative for some energy sources such as electricity, petroleum .In India the large part of the solar energy is wasted because of lack awareness about the solar energy. Mostly the solar energy is used to dry the food grains and mostly to dry the cloths. But last few years are the most memorable years for the India from the last few years most of the peoples decide to install the solar units. We are focusing on the need of the alternatives for the conventional energy source. we are using the vapour absorption refrigeration system operated by using solar power, In this we are using R-717 as refrigerant and water as working fluid. system consist of collector, evaporator, absorber the refrigerant in the system when come in contact with the water the cold water absorbs most of the ammonia in it after that the strong solution is conveyed up to the collector where the strong solution is heated to form a vapour then this vapours are condensed in condenser and then passed to expansion valve where temperature falls down then it is passed to the evaporator where the refrigerant absorbs the heat from the surrounding of the evaporative section. CFD Trials for Comparative Evaluation and Recommendation of Nozzle Geometry for Gas Atomization of Aluminum Alloys
-Sanjay Phatige ; Srinivasa T.N.
Atomization is often chosen as one of the powder production techniques because of high production rates and ability to make alloy powders of the desired composition. In gas atomization process, the liquid metal is broken into droplets to form the powders upon solidification. Gas-metal interaction influences the break-up of liquid stream in to droplets. Geometry of the nozzle governs the gas-metal interaction. Selection of nozzle type and the flow geometry is the most important parameter for gas atomization process. Design of nozzle determines the degree of contact of liquid metal with the atomizing gas. The atomizing nozzles have co-axially placed Metal Delivery Tube (MDT), which carry the molten metal to atomizing zone. Flow properties of gas are considerably affected by the presence of MDT. In the present analysis, an attempt has been made to compare Convergent nozzle (C - nozzle) and Convergent- Divergent (CD) nozzle for parameters like flow and heat transfer aspects using CFD technique. Further, DAR (Decision Analysis and Resolution) a CMMI (Capability Maturity Model, Integration technique) was adopted to recommend a nozzle configuration for gas atomization of the aluminum alloys. FPGA To PC Ethernet Communication Using Media Independent Interface (MII) Mode
-Preeti Kumari ; Sidharth Kashyap; Ajit Jain; Lokesh Sharma
As the advancement in the embedded system technology, Field programmable gate array (FPGA) based systems are playing significant role. In many application there is need of high speed communication between FPGA and external world (e.g.-for providing the data of a sensor to the web server in some real time embedded system). In initial phase of development of FPGA Board we had used Universal asynchronous receiver transmitter (UART) for communicating the FPGA to other devices but its speed is too slow in order of thousands of bps. But nowadays modern FPGA board comes with high speed interfaces e.g. Ethernet and PCI Express. We can achieve data rate up to hundreds of Mbps. Ethernet communication provides the required bandwidth for most of the applications. This paper describes the transmission of User datagram protocol (UDP) frame from FPGA to computer via Ethernet. We used Digilent Atlys board which includes a Marvell Alaska Tri-mode PHY (88E1111) paired with a Halo HFJ11- 1G01E RJ-45 connector. It supports both Media independent interface (MII) and Gigabit Media independent interface (GMII) modes at 10/100/1000 Mbps. We used MII mode at 10 Mbps data rate which is default set at power on or reset. For implementation and simulation we used Xilinx ISE Design Suite (version14.2). Read More...

-Karpe Ganesh Gorakshanath ; Dr. C.L. Dhamejani
The present work describes the development of polymer composites consisting of Polyether-ether-keton (PEEK). This work reports the wear performance evaluation of a new class of PEEK. The effects various range of temperatures on the tribological properties of PEEK composites were studied under dry friction conditions. PEEK composites are maximum used as compressor piston rings or valve for their outstanding mechanical and thermal performance at harsh operating conditions, where PTFE composites fail to service. However high wear rate and friction coefficient of pure PEEK limitation its wider use. Maximum researchers found that PEEK is good in mechanical characteristic but inferior performances of tribological properties. The effect on the friction and wear nature of PEEK polymer composites has been improved, at room temperature. There are various operations performed in industry at elevated temperature on different machines and high wear rate at maximum temperature is a serious problem in a large number of industrial applications. The objective of this work to study the friction and wear properties of PEEK elevated temperature as well as to increase tribological properties of PEEK without loss of mechanical properties at elevated temperature. -Prasanna ; PROF. MANEETH P D; PROF. BRIJ BHUSHAN S ; PROF. ROHAN S GURAV
Cement concrete is an adaptable building development material in structural designing and it is likewise one of the world's most broadly utilized development material around the globe in all development ventures and in numerous development applications. Essentially cement concrete is a composite blend of concrete, very much evaluated fine totals and coarse totals, water and admixtures. Development exercises and activities are expanding the world over which has come about into the extreme extraction and use of normally accessible materials like common waterway sand, stones and shakes, lime, earth, water and so forth. As of now the issues confronted by the utilization of cement concrete incorporates popularity of concrete solid, expense of bond and solid making materials, contamination, over the top extraction and use of common stream sand and stones, water and so forth. Since the sand is as a rule widely extricated from the waterway bed stores, it is exhausting at a speedier rate. Henceforth it is important to locate an option material, for example, mechanical waste slag and waste bits of stones from the stone quarries in the bond solid generation and waste ashes which are abundantly available in many sugar industries and Thermal power plants. This Project work manages the investigation of partial substitution of normal cement by sugar cane bagasse ash keeping the normal fine and coarse aggregates as constant materials in M20 evaluation of cement concrete. Sugar cane bagasse ash is a waste item got from the sugar factories. In this work, we have made an attempt to study the compressive, split tensile and flexural strength of M20 grade concrete by utilizing Sugar Cane Bagasse Ash as partial substitution to cement. The compressive strength test is studied for 14 and 28 days of curing period and the split tensile and flexural strength is studied for 14 and 28 days of curing period. The compressive strength of cement concrete is most elevated at 5% replacement of cement by SCBA with 19.348 N/mm2 at 14 days and 29.340 N/mm2 at 28 days of curing period, the split tensile strength of cement concrete is at 10% replacement of cement by SCBA is 2.876 N/mm2 at 28 days of curing period and the highest flexural strength of concrete is at 5% replacement cement by SCBA which is 4.108 N/mm2 at 28 days of curing period, which are higher than the typical traditional concrete. From this study it is concluded that the normal cement can be partially replaced by SCBA upto 25% of cement in M20 grade cement concrete. Read More...

E-Waste Management and Its Concern In Today's Environment
-Gagandeep Singh Chhabra
Although many countries, including those in the European Union, have developed laws to address electronic waste (or e-waste) disposal and management, there is no law that addresses e-waste in India. The current estimation of the amount of E-waste generated in India is extremely hazy. E-waste management in India is a serious issue because of the informal recycling activities. In this paper an attempt has been made to quantify the amount of e-waste generated in Raipur. And results were obtained regarding awareness among people about e-waste, method of e-waste management and suggestions were obtained about e-waste management. Based on the survey conducted, it was recommended that role of government should be increased for controlling the informal method of e-waste management and for promoting the formal method and increasing the awareness among people about hazardous effect of e-waste and for its proper disposal. -Jagadish M ; Nataraj S D; Pramod V Rampur; Yogeesha G
Rectangular waveguides were most former type of transmission lines employed to carry microwave signals and about which a great deal is known. In this paper, the electric field intensities of dipole probe and rectangular waveguide probe with infinite ground plane is analyzed and compared to that of no probe instance. A standard 2.296 x 1.016cm WR-90 open ended rectangular waveguide with infinite ground plane of operating frequency of 9GHz is used as a radiator. The dependency of normalized electric field intensity in the near field to the separation between the radiator and probes was observed. The effect of rotation of waveguide probe in the aperture plane (y-axis) was also studied. The simulations were performed using Ansoft’s HFSS. Read More...

Structural Analysis of a Composite Wind Turbine Blade to Optimize Its Constructional Parameters Using a Fea Software
-Tukesh Singh Thakur, ; Brijesh Patel
The overall goal of this project is to gain an understanding of wind turbine blades sufficient to develop Figures of Merit analysing the trade-offs between structure, material, cost, and other qualities in order to optimize the design of a large wind turbine blade. Due to the size of emergent utility-scale wind turbines, concerns that in current technology are minimal (such as weight), have the potential to add new dimensions to the driving design conditions. These additions are not necessarily captured by traditional wind turbine analytical solutions, and it has been wished to factor them into the analyses presented in the present work. In the due course of this project analytical solutions have been developed for various aerodynamic loads, along with rudimentary root size estimations. These analytic solutions have been used to guide the initial blade sizing and geometry, but transitioned to computational analysis tools like WT_Perf and ANSYS later on in order to more efficiently vary key design parameters and obtain additional accuracy in load profiles. Ultimately, optimization of several key design constraints for the blade has been done and computational results have been compared with initial analytic estimations to mixed results. Successful optimization of blade design has been done at key core levels. But detail many of the desired figures of merit have net been possible to develop. FOM has been obtained for structural stability and cost, but future work will be required to further evaluate these and others. Read More...

A Survey on Matching and Retrieval of Near Duplicate Images
-Vishakha B. Pawar ; J. R. Mankar
The image can be modified using some transformation on original images which forms near duplicate images. An image can be represented by its size or length and the number of patches in the image varies with respect to the length. The adjacent and visually similar pixels are clustered and then the resulting cluster is considered as a patch. Image representation and image similarity measurement are two major issues in image matching. The proposed method extracts patches from given image and represents by variable length signature. The signature is further validated in a near duplicate natural image detection which makes a decision about whether two images are near duplicates or not. The near duplicate image retrieval aims at retrieving relevant images from image database which are similar to query image. The similarity between two images is calculated based on variable length signature to improve the effectiveness. Read More...

-Aveen M ; Dr. K. B. Ramesh; Mr. Dipjyoti Bharali
It is well known that noise on medical image (MI) resulting in low image quality has largely limited the diagnostic usefulness. This makes the noise reduction in medical imaging very significant. However, any kind of medical imaging is purely a visual expression of biological information of tissues at a certain time. The quality of output image is reduced due to various kinds of noises. So there is a need for noise reduction in medical imaging equipments. Therefore, the primary goal of medical image processing is to develop effective image processing methods to provide information and help doctors to evaluate different treatment therapies on disease. Image enhancement as noise reduction by software is useful and is necessary for next edge differential enhancement particularly for digital medical X-ray images. Read More...

Paradigm Model based Hybrid Morph Analyzer for Gujarati using Partial Stemmer
-Chirag Patel ; Montu Patel
Morphological Analysis plays a major role in understanding and generating words and their forms for an efficient Machine Translation system. Morph Analyzer analyzes a word form, provides us the root or stem word and the linguistic information attached to the word form. It also generates a word form based on the root word and the linguistic information as provided. This linguistic information is very helpful during every stages of Natural Language Processing. In this paper we propose a Morph Analyzer which we have built keeping Gujarati language in mind. A Morph Analyzer can be made more efficient if the target language is known. We have added a partial stemmer in the paradigm model of a Morph Analyzer to achieve better accuracy. Our approach is the supervised approach where we manually build a dictionary of root words and classify them into different paradigms. A built-in partial stemmer performs the analysis and generation of word forms based on language dependent linguistic rules. Using this approach on Gujarati language we were able to achieve a considerable coverage of approximately 5,000 nouns. Read More...

Real-time Fire Detection for Video Surveillance Applications using Multi Experts System.
-Sanket Raju Salve ; Siddhant Shinde; Sayali Patil; Vikas Shelke
In this proposed system the method is able to detect ï¬re by analyzing the Videos acquired by surveillance cameras is introduced. Two main novelties have been introduced ï¬rst, complementary Information, respectively based on color, shape variation and Motion analysis, are combined by a multi expert system. Second, a novel descriptor based on a bag-of-words approach has been proposed for representing motion. The previous systems were developed but the results were not much signiï¬cant as they were having their own limitations. Some of them were working on color while some on shape or motion hence they had own drawbacks. Our system will try to overcome those as we are proposing the system that will have a separate module for shape variation, a module for color evaluation and a module for motion evaluation. The multi expert based system takes the input of all this modules and then the decisions taken by the experts are combined by a MES (multi expert system) classiï¬er based on a weighted voting rule, which ï¬nally assigns a class to each blob. The Main advantage deriving from this approach lies in the fact that the overall performance of the system can be signiï¬cantly increases with a relatively small effort Read More...

Modelling And Analysis Of Rock Drilling Machine Gear Box Assembly Using FEA
-Madhu J V ; Dr. Mohamed Haneef; Dr. Syed Zameer
The present Earthmoving equipment industry is booming at a faster pace. Owing to this is a demand for advanced stability targets, reduced product expansion cycle time and lesser design costs. Numerical methods like FE Simulations happen to be an effective and reliable tool to meet this demand. The work explains the use of CAE software in the modeling and analysis of Rock Drilling Machine gear box assembly. Like gears, housing, bearing, shafts etc. The gearbox assembly includes important transmission components like gears, shafts and bearings. Thus the strength of the each part of the gearbox is very important while the gear box is functioning in the field. If there are any failure in any part of the gearbox it is very difficult to rectify this problem and it takes very long time to resume the work stopped due to this problem, because the rock drillers generally works in remote areas like, fields, deserts, mining locations, etc,. Therefore, while designing such components extra care should be taken and make sure that, these designed parts should work for the designed load or strength. Read More...

Retiming Of Delayed Least Mean Square Algorithm for Adaptive Filter: A Review
-Bhavana V. Hood ; Prof. R.N.Mandavgane; Prof.J.D.Dhande
Least mean square (LMS) algorithm is a broadly used adaptive algorithm for its robustness and low hardware complexity. Though in practical applications, many modified LMS algorithm had be proposed. Delayed LMS algorithm is suited in hardware implementation with performance degradation. When performance degradation is not acceptable, a correction term can be added to avoid this degradation. But adding a correction term will increase power consumption. To make this more achievable we are retiming this DLMS architecture to reduce the critical path and making it more responsive and less degradable. We are endulge in this paper to understand the throughput changes that will empower whenever we are going to change realization of LMS from LMS_DLMS_RDLMS. Read More...
