ANALYSIS OF SOLAR CELL WITH MgO-ZnO ANTI-REFLECTIVE COATING
-RAMESH R ; Dr.M.SEKAR
In general solar PV panels are used without any anti-reflective coating. Its efficiency is only about 6-7%. Surface passivation plays a significant role in upgrading solar cell performance. When the anti reflection coating is used on solar cell, the efficiency gets increased for a specified thickness of coating. In this study the combination of MgO-ZnO material is used as an anti- reflective coating on silicon solar cell. The thickness of the coating is optimized 86nm and 75nm for p-type single crystalline silicon solar PV cell, considering the optical response in the 400nm to 800nm wavelength range. Theoretical model has been developed to determine the refractive index and other related optical properties such as transmissivity, reflectivity for the solar PV panel without the anti-reflective Coating. The combination of MgO-ZnO material showed higher refractive index value. This is investigated theoretically and compare the optical properties of solar cell with coating and without coating. This paper presents usage of DMAIC (an acronym for Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) approach of six sigma process and its tools to identify various root causes which influences productivity in engineering services industry. Effort variance is identified as major measure of productivity which is defined as difference between actual effort spent on the task and estimated effort of the task. Difference of actual and estimated effort was studied for variety of tasks over specified period to identify root cause for the benefit of revisiting of estimated effort for the future tasks. The improvement was to contain effort variance of around 5% for repeated tasks and of around 15% for new kind of tasks. The paper further studied about productivity and learning curve enumeration of effort after implementation of selected six sigma tools. Prioritized root causes which affect effort variation are considered for Design of Experiments (DoE) with two levels each. Myth on selected root causes is unlocked with results and its interpretation out of DoE. Analysis of results yielded basic outcomes which needed further attention in engineering service industry. The Effect of N-benzoyl-N, N'-pyrrolidinylthiourea - A Novel Secondary Accelerator in the Sulphur Vulcanization of NR/SBR Blend
-Molice Thomas ; Thomas Kurian; K. Kurien Thomas
Binary accelerator systems are widely used in rubber industry. They are popular because such systems can prevent pre-vulcanization, permit vulcanization at lower temperature in a shorter time and can also produce vulcanizate with better mechanical properties. Blending of two or more elastomers is a useful technique to improve certain properties which are not inherent in single elastomers. The blending of NR with SBR is of prime importance in automobile industry especially in the production of tyre. For the first time a novel derivative of thiourea viz. N-benzoyl-N’,N’-pyrrolidinylthiourea (BPTU) which is more nucleophilic than thiourea itself is used as an additional accelerator along with cyclohexylbenzthiazyl sulphenamide (CBS) in the vulcanization of NR/SBR blend having 50:50 proportion. The result shows an appreciable reduction in the cure time for the mixes containing BPTU as compared to reference mixes. The vulcanizate has superior mechanical properties when compared to those of a stock cured with a single accelerator CBS. These results are in agreement with the nucleophilic mechanism already suggested for the vulcanization of elastomers blend. This vulcanizate show better retention in tensile property after aging. The chemical characterization of the vulcanizate was done by swelling measurements. An attempt is made to correlate variation of physical properties to chemical cross link formation in the various vulcanizate. Activation energy for cure rate is determined from Arrhenius plot. The kinetic study of the cure reaction of the compounds confirms that it follows first-order kinetics. The binary accelerator system containing BPTU and CBS (1:1) is observed to be the best candidate since it shows the highest hardness and resilience with lowest values for compression set and abrasion loss in comparison with reference mix. The tensile strength is also at par with reference mix. It has the lowest optimum cure time and highest cure rate index which makes the system more economical and viable Read More...

Controlling And Operating Mobile Device Through Sensors
-Saurabh Malpure ; Niraj Solanke; Kaushal Girme; Manisha Singh
Last years have been characterized by an incredible growth in mobile computing capabilities and sensing technologies, which can leverage the deployment of many location-based applications, ranging from pedometers to navigation system. This work deals with an Inertial Navigation System (INS) able to support users in the navigation in an unknown indoor environment by continuously calculating their motions and their position. The proposed solution is based on integrated use of movement and position sensors. Unfortunately, applications that rely on the use of measures coming from orientation sensors, such accelerometers and digital compasses, are affected by external magnetic interferences thus resulting in inaccurate directional information. This paper focuses on this problem by investigating the use of the gyroscope as the primary determinant of better orientation information. Nowadays, modern mobile devices, such as smartphones come to the market already equipped with sensors able to track them as they move, both in outdoor and in indoor environment. Taking advantage of the present hardware in the smartphone, we aim to create an application that can perform certain task or procedures which can be set by the user and it will trigger that operation by the movement the smartphone device in the specific pattern which is determined by the sensors from the smartphone. Estimation of missing data values during data migration using AQ algorithm in cancer detection
-N.Vikasini ; Dr.J.Shanthini
In Data Mining, data missing is more complicated problem now days, especially in hospitals. Most of the hospitals are using client server technology for data transferring inside the hospital. When migrating database from access to SQL, or Migrating data from SQL to Oracle, data loss may occur. Due to the data loss, some values from the table or from database may disappear. This problem is known as Data Missing. Cancer which is the deadliest disease in which if data is missing including their infection percentage along with the missing values in the database leads to a serious problem. To find out the missing values, sometimes prediction may be used to fill the data. Prediction should me more accurate. So, here we are implementing a multidimensional array model with modified AQ algorithm. An improved AQ algorithm is used to find the missing values with 9.5.79% accuracy in the dataset. From the data set, an operational database will be created for the cancer patients and a database for normal patients. This database will be unique and different types of sample data are available. The modified AQ algorithm will compare the existing spatial database with the normal database from the input database. So that the result will be obtained from the dataset, whether the patient is affected from cancer or not, including their infection percentage along with the missing values in the database. Resource Allocation and Data Provisioning for Data Centers In Cloud
-S.Vaishnavi ; Ms.J.Vasuki
The storage server based companies are getting increased like GO DADDY, BIG ROCK, NET4, SPEEDHOST and etc. Each server need to maintain their own storage server, it may leads to server overload. Due to this problem here we are introducing an intelligent scheme for dynamic resource allocation. The resource which is provided by infrastructure as a service (IaaS). The reason for using Infrastructure as a service is, this layer deals all types of storage and storage limitations which can be internally programmed. This method will be working under data provisioning methods. Each and every cloud servers will be internally connected under the security rules. The main advantage is, in case a sever space getting increased or got full means, the hand shaking method will automatically allot space in the next allocated server. A log file will be maintained for this resource allocation. In case of the current server will be getting some free space means, the allocated data will be transfers to the original source server. This process will not take much time duration; it will be done in a nano second. For this process the current server will be pay for another server. This process will be executed till last storage will be getting allocated. Here the policies are not over rules like stealing of data and security issues. This is because during the time of data re-allocation all the data and details will be encrypted dual times. During the time of retrieval the data will be again decrypted. This method was done using Quantum Cryptography. Without violating the policies this resource allocation can be done perfectly. Read More...

A Review on Removal of Shadow from a Single Image
-Shoyeb Karim Pathan ; S. S. Banait
A frame work for detecting the shadow and removal of the shadow from a single image in the real world pictures. Till now the work on detecting the shadows had more effort for design of hand-craft features. Shadows distroits the image in computer pictures. For instance, the decrease of performance of objects recognition and object scene analysis. This shadow inpainting technique does not perform well in the case of non-uniform shadows. In the cases of shadows in dark environments, this method does not perform well for detecting the shadow. To address these issues the frame work consists of learning the features which are relevant. The Baysian formulates so that the shadow inpainting is done efficiently. The method formulates so efficiently that the shadow detection process in shadowed part is detected and the shadowed region is obtained. The proposed method improves the image quality on curved surfaces and visual quality of photographs and real world images. Read More...

A Review on Text Detection for Multi-Orientation Scene Images using Adaptive Clustering
-Vaibhav Gopichand Baviskar ; J. R. Mankar
Detection of text in scene images is an important requirement for several content-based multimedia applications. In the real world, text detection task is often challenging due to issues such as complex background and variation of text orientation, font, size, color and to detect and recognize text in a unified manner by searching for words from the image into text regions or individual characters. Text captured in natural scenes is most of the times with multiple orientations and perspective distortions while currently most research efforts only focus on horizontal or near horizontal scene text. To address this issues a novel approach unified distance metric learning framework is proposed based on adaptive hierarchical clustering, which can simultaneously learn weights similarity to adaptively combine different feature similarities and the clustering threshold to determine the number of clusters and then an effective multi-orientation scene text detection system, which constructs the text candidates by grouping characters based on this adaptive clustering. Development of Composite Fibre Board (CFB) using Coconut Coir Pith and Rice Husks with Phenol Formaldehyde Resin
-H.G.I.M. Wijesinghe ; A.N.R. Weerawansa
Recently, rice and coconut industries are growing rapidly in Sri Lanka due to utilization of new technology may be after the year 2005. The wastes generated from these industries are mainly rice husks and coconut coir pith. They are only used as potting media in horticultural aspects. But there is a potential to utilize them as an economical and ecofriendly raw material to manufacture composite fibre boards (CFBs) which can be used to replace the wood based medium density fibre boards (MDF). As the bonding agent phenol formaldehyde was used in manufacturing of CBFs. Cold pressed sheets were cured in a hydraulic press at 170 oC for 20 minutes under the pressure of 25 MPa. Hardness, density, internal bonding and absorption of moisture of CBFs were measured according to ASTM standards compared to the standards of MDF boards by taking it as the control sample. Each sample was replicated 5 times and tests were carried out at room temperature (25°C). Data was analyzed using Minitab 16 statistical software with use of Tukey pairwise comparison. Coir pith based CFBs have shown 477.55 pounds hardness and it is very close to the hardness of MDF boards. Statistically, the rice husk based CFB have also indicated different hardness compared to MDF boards and the value was 419.44 pounds. Density of 723.0 kg/m3 has achieved by coir based CFB which is higher comparatively to rice husk based CFB (690.2 kg/m3). Higher internal bonding has indicated by the coir pith based CFB and it does not have shown a significant difference to the standard. Both CFBs have absorbed moisture more than 12% but that absorbance is not significant in comparison to the standards. In conclusion, both rice husk and coir pith can be utilized as a raw material for manufacturing of composite fibre boards. This investigation appears as a better solution for environmental problem associated with these wastes and it is economical to utilize to manufacture composite fibre boards. Read More...
