Segway-The Human Transporter
-Mayank Sharma ; Rahul Sharma; Vikrant Sinha; Kshitij Singh; Prof. Shakil B Tadavi
The Segway Human Transporter is one of several low-speed transportation devices (e.g., bikes, scooters, wheelchairs) that, under certain circumstances, travels on sidewalks, roadways, and other shared-use paths. The objective of this research was to examine the primary operating characteristics of the Segway. In this thesis, we designed and constructed mechanically based system for a two wheel balancing Segway robot. In this paper we present a Segway based on gyro sensor, accelerometer along with a microcontroller and use of mechanical and electrical hardware’s. The dynamics of the vehicle is similar to the classical control problem of an inverted pendulum, which means that it is unstable and prone to tip over. This is prevented by electronics sensing the pitch angle and its time derivative, controlling the motors to keep the vehicle balancing. This kind of vehicle is interesting since it contains a lot of technology relevant to an eco-friendly and energy efficient transportation industry. This thesis describes the development of a similar vehicle from scratch, incorporating every phase from literature study to planning, design, vehicle construction and verification. The main objective was to build a vehicle capable of transporting a person weighing up to 70-80 kg and capable of travelling to some km distance with varying speed. The rider controls are supposed to be natural movements; leaning forwards or backwards in combination with tilting the handlebar sideways should be the only rider input required to ride the vehicle. This thesis also take into consideration the material used with minimum possible cost. The design of Segway Human Transporter is such that it covers less space and comfort to the user. Read More...

AN APPROACH FOR BRAIN TUMOR SEGMENTATION AND CLASSIFICATION USING aNN
-K.VINULAKSHMI ; K.VINULAKSHMI; L.JUBAIR AHMED
the brain tumors are the mass of undifferentiated cells which form uncontrolled proliferation of cells in the brain. In this paper, I projected segmentation of brain tumor from Magnetic Resonance Images (MRI) using the Region Growing method to track tumor objects in brain images. The key concept in this technique is to separate the position of tumor objects exactly from other items of MR images. Region Growing is useful and simple method which uses several criteria to measure the characteristics of pixel and its neighborhood and also avoids characteristic segmentation errors. Several other algorithms have been proposed to segment brain tumor. Experiments show that the method can successfully achieve segmentation for MR brain images to help pathologists distinguish exactly lesion size and region. In the proposed method, to find the stages of tumor whether it is in Normal, Abnormal or Critical stage we used the technique Artificial Neural Network by the features of the extracted tumor. In order to classify the stages using ANN, we have to implement two algorithms namely Back propagation and Feed forward methods. Thus the final result is obtained as the stages of brain tumor. A Robust Turbo Coder Design For Channel Maximization In MIMO OFDM With Cognitive Radio System
-T.R.Anand ; Ms A.Preethi Vinnarasi
In this paper, we study the turbo coder design problem for MIMO-OFDM systems with insufficient cyclic prefix (CP) using statistical channel state information (CSI) at the transmitter. In our previously proposed channel independent turbo coder scheme, an interference nulling based turbo coder structure is studied, which can assist to either cancel inter-block interference (IBI) or separate the subspace engaged by IBI from the subspace used for information symbols. In this work, we consider a robust turbo coder design which combines statistical CSI at the transmitter and the interference nulling based turbo coder arrangement to gain a better performance compared to the channel independent turbo coder scheme. OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) has been chosen as the air interface technique for LTE (Long Term Evolution) standard. However, OFDM system is sensitive to synchronization errors generated by multipath delay, Doppler shift and oscillator instability. In this paper, we address the synchronization problem between the transmitter and the receiver is done. Time-domain synchronous orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has advantages in spectral efficiency and synchronization. However, its iterative interference cancellation algorithm will suffer from performance loss especially under severely fading channels with long delays and has difficulty supporting high-order modulations like 256 QAM, which may not accommodate the emerging ultra-high definition television service. Improve Quality of Code Using Aspect Mining
-Kadam Bharat Ashok ; Prof. Amruta A. Pundlik; Bharat A. Kadam ; Tejashree S. Jagtap ; Priyanka Nerkar
Specification Oriented Programming (AOP) is a new programming paradigm that offers a novel modularization unit for the crosscutting concerns. function originally spread across several modules and tangled with each other can be factored out into a single, separate unit, called a specification. Although AOP was originally proposed for the development of new software, systems written using traditional modularization techniques may also benefit from the adoption of the more versatile decomposition offered by AOP, in terms of code understand ability and Evolvability Abstract Specification mining is a process that tries to identify crosscutting concerns in existing software systems. The goal is to refactor refine the existing systems to use specification oriented programming in order to make them easier to maintain and to evolve. Abstract A refactoring is a change made to the internal structure of software to make it easier to understand and cheaper to modify without changing its observable behaviour. Refactoring’s are systematically organized into catalogues, in a similar way as design patterns. Hints that certain refactoring’s are applicable are provided by so-called code smells: Suspicious code parts that require improvement. Read More...

-Nupur Tayal ; Subhasis Bhadra
Study of awareness about health among HIV discordant couples (DCs), their problems and challenges, Govt. facilities available to them and the extent to which those facilities are being availed of by them. Data collected through socio-demographic tool, interpretative phenominological analysis and case study method from 4 DCs. Famine, social issues and psychological issues deteriorate quality of life of people leading to their migration. Famine and migration are also factors in the spread of HIV as famine leads to migration and migrated persons are more vulnerable. Most of the People living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) and DCs are economically weak. PLWHA experience more mental health problems than general population as stigma and discrimination adversely affect their mental health. They change home and job due to discrimination at workplace, fear of discrimination against their kids in school and discrimination by their neighbours leading to poorer wages and worse economic condition. Thus, they become poorer than general population and lead a stressful life. In India, we are not likely to meet Millennium Development Goals (MDG) by 2015. In India, many programmes have been launched by National AIDS Control Organization for the betterment of PLWHA and DCs. Still, PLWHA and DCs suffer more in India than in other countries. Intervention is urgently required for improving their mental and physical health and to improve their quality of life. Government should focus on vocational training of affected person to enhance their livelihood opportunities to improve their economic condition and of their family. Read More...

Forecasting the daily sales of perishable food to reduce spoilage in hypermarket
-Ashwini Kadam ; Dipali Warekar; Nagnath Kamble
A phenomenon that is very common in supermarkets bulk orders of food materials are given which results in extra stocks of food materials than which is needed and finally leads to wastage. Many still make a profit from selling a few items of the product and throwing the left out . The belief is that, not caring about the customer feeling that their supermarket has an endless supply of goods is more valuable than predicting the order in advance, and possibly getting it wrong. Representing the hypermarket, the objective of our forecasting is to reduce the spoilage of perishable foods in the hypermarket by accurately forecasting sales on a daily basis by using historical data and Holt -Winter model, we have plan to forecast daily demand for 30 days for 'Vegetables' , 'Meat' , 'Fruits' and 'Milk Products' .This model includes two methods – additive method for finding seasonal variation and multiplicative method for proportional variation. The FEFO(First Expired First Out) principle including the calculation of shelf life is used to get the product consumed by the customer before the expiry date. The major benefit is that it gives consumers the chance to enjoy fresh products and reduce the reatailing cost. It highly focusses on hygiene of customers as well as it gives increased customer satisfaction. Read More...

Improved Flux Estimation Technique for Direct Torque Control of Induction Motor Drives
-PATEL TEJASKUMAR ISHVARBHAI ; MANKAD PRITESH R; ABOTI ASHISH N
In DTC drive stator flux is controllable variable so accurate flux estimation in a high-performance induction motor drive, is important to ensure proper drive operation and stability. Most of the flux estimation techniques proposed are based on the voltage model. The voltage model, on the other hand, is normally used in a high speed range, since at low speed, some problems arise. Practical implementation, even a small dc offset present in the back electromotive force (EMF) due to noise or measurement error inherently present in the current sensor, can cause the integrator to saturate. To overcome this, a low-pass (LP) filter is normally used in place of a pure integrator. The voltage only motor parameter used is the stator resistance, which can be measured quite accurately. These can be considered as an advantage of the voltage-mode and are also the reasons why the former is preferred over the latter in some industrial applications. However, the use of an LP filter in place of a pure integrator reduces the performance of the drive because of the phase and magnitude errors inherent in the LP filter as compared to the pure integrator, particularly at low speed. Attempts have been made to improve the estimated stator flux based on an LP filter as given by the proposed method used an adaptive control system which was based on the fact that the back EMF is orthogonal to the stator flux. The compensator is adapted for this condition. However, to implement the proposed system requires large processor resources and longer execution time for a slower processor. The implementation of adaptive Control will significantly increase the complexity of the control system; hence, it will outweigh the property of simple control structure inherent in DTC. Read More...

Nowadays the requirement of network is increasing quickly. The ever increasing usage of such network need additionally demands fast recovery from network failures. Multipath routing is one in all the most promising routing schemes to accommodate the several requirement of the network. A wireless sensor network could be a large collection of sensor nodes with restricted power supply and affected computational capability. Because of the restricted infusion limit and high density of sensor nodes, packet forwarding on sensor networks is typically performed through multi-hop information transmission. So, routing in WSNs has been considered a very important field of analysis over the past decade. Today, multipath routing approach is wide employed in wireless sensor networks to better network performance through efficient utilization of accessible network resources. Consequently, the main aim of this paper is to developed the concept of the multipath routing approach and its basic challenges, also because the basic motivations for utilizing this method in wireless sensor networks. Design And Fabrication Of Pneumatic Punching And Bending Machine
-Girish Gharat ; Aniket Patil; Harshal Mhatre; Sandesh Satvi
The pneumatic system has gained a large amount of importance in last few decades. This importance is due to its accuracy and cost. This convenience in operating the pneumatic system has made us to design and fabricate this unit as our project. This unit, as we hope that it can be operated easily with semi-skilled operators. The pneumatic press tool has an advantage of working in low pressure, that is even a pressure of 6 bar is enough for operating the unit. The pressurized air passing through the tubes to the cylinder, forces the piston out whose power through the linkage is transmitted to the punch. The work piece thus got is for required dimensions and the piece can be collected through the land clearance provided in the die. The die used in this is fixed such that the die of required shape can be used according to the requirement. This enables us to use different type punch dies resulting in a wide range of products. Different types of punch as requirement can be thus got. According to the work material the operating pressure can be varied. Read More...

License plate recognition is an important issue in Intelligent Traffic System (ITS). It utilizes Image processing and Pattern recognition technologies. In this paper, we had built an algorithm in MATLAB that will extract information from an image. It should be able to identify English capital letters (A-Z), numbers (0-9), Dash (-), and Blank space from the image. We tried to adopt a very simple yet natural flowchart to develop our algorithm. Firstly, we would convert true color image into binary image. Secondly, by using Filtering we would convert the binary image into binary filtered image to remove the unnecessary information and then by using image processing Toolbox, we tried to figure it out the connected components in the binary filtered image. Lastly, using the correlation coefficient, the function identifies each letter from the license plate image. Read More...

missile detection and auto destroy system on robot platform
-Palwe Pooja B. ; Sonawane Chaitali S.; Shinde Tejashree A.; Prof.s.bhilegaonkar
In our project, a robotic platform along with a stepper motor which continuously rotate in 360 degree direction fitted with ultrasonic sensors is used to automatically locate and aim at a stationary target and moving target at a pre-defined range. This project uses radio frequency bands i.e. RF transmitter by sending a specific command to RF Receiver and motor drive IC to control the movement of Robot in various direction. We prefer ultrasonic sensor to IR sensor because the Ultrasonic sensors covers larger sensing distance and it can detect the target in all the lighting conditions (day or night). This project is divided in 3 part RF Transmitter, RF Receiver, and microcontroller. The Radio Frequency based control proves to be more advantageous compared to the Infrared Red based control that limits the operating range to only a few meters of distance. Read More...

ENERGY AUDIT : NEED FOR PROCESS INDUSTRY
-Pushkar Deshmukh ; Sameer Deshmukh; Dipeeka Kulkarni; Namrata Rao
This India is the Fifth largest producer of Electrical energy in the world. Despite such achievements the gap between demand and supply of electrical energy is increasing every year and power sector is highly capital – intensive. Thus the deficit in installed capacity was nearly 10000MWper year. So the gap between demand and supply is continuously increasing day by day. Growing concerns arise about energy consumption and its adverse environmental impact in recent years in India, which cause manufactures to establish energy management groups. An energy audit is a study of a plant or facility to determine how and where energy is used and to identify methods for energy savings. The energy auditing is the key to successful running of an industry with saving energy & contributing toward preserving resources of energy. Managing energy is not a just technical Challenge but one of how to best implement those technical Challenges within economic limits, and with a minimum of disruptions. The opportunities lie in the use of existing energy more precisely, greater efforts at savings and the implementation of new technologies. Read More...

Boost-Vsi based on space vector pulse width amplitude modulation technique
-PUNITH KUMAR M R ; SUDHARANI POTTURI
the traditional inverter techniques prone many limitations, they are designed with the high range of switching frequencies (15-20 kHz) and imposes high stress on the switching devices. The conventional sinusoidal PWM inverter induces large harmonics in the output waveforms and leads to reduction of efficiency. The proposed space vector pulse width amplitude modulation (SVPWAM) technique for boost-VSI operates at low range switching frequency (5-15 kHz). Compared to sinusoidal PWM inverter the SVPWAM technique for boost-VSI reduces the switching loss and harmonic distortions to the greater extent. It also improves the efficiency of the system. In this paper the proposed work completely analyzes all the limitations; the software model has been developed to overcome the limitations. The experimental results shows the efficient performance of the proposed SVPWAM technique. Read More...

heuristic approaches for equivalent mutant problem
-inderjot ; Dr. Rakesh kumar
Mutation testing works on seeding faults into the program using mutation operators. These faulty programs are known as mutants. Test suites are applied on these mutants to recognize if they are killed or not. Test suite that kill mutants are said to be adequate. Sometimes, it is difficult to kill all the mutants because of equivalent mutants. Equivalent mutants are the mutants syntactically different and semantically similar to the original program. In this paper some heuristics have been proposed to avoid equivalent mutant problems. Read More...

Reassembling of Image fragment problems arises in many scientific field like archeology, forensics and many other. To solve such a problem of reassembling of image fragments by human intervention takes a lot time. And sometimes it might be costlier. To overcome this problem, we are working on a system which will automatically reassemble those image fragments to form original image. With the help of 2D image fragment and contour detection algorithms we can make an efficient use of this system. Reassembling technique is divided into four types. Initially content based image retrieval system is use to identify spatially adjacent fragment. The second step is dynamic programming technique to identify matching contour segment. Third step is to identify optimal transformation to align matching contour segment and last step is overall image reassembling. With the help of these algorithms an optimal transformation in contour can be detected. Doing automation in such work will certainly help in faster, more efficient and patiently reassembling this image fragments. Read More...

Buckling Analysis of Connecting Rod to the Shank Sectional Area Reduction of variable Cross Section by using Finite Element Method
-Arvind Dave ; Rana Manoj Mourya; Dr.V.N Bartariya
A connecting rod is an engine member which is subjected to alternating direct compressive and tensile forces. Since the compressive forces are much higher than the tensile force, therefore the cross-section of the connecting rod is designed as a different cross section and the rankine formula is used. A connecting rod subjected to a cyclic as well as axial load W may buckle with x-axis as neutral axis in the plane of rotation of the connecting rod, or y-axis is a neutral axis In our analysis, Ansys Static Structural and Linear Buckling was used a model was developed on NX-5. In order to verify the present Ansys model, the slenderness ratio and the critical buckling stress, radius of gyration are compared with the available experimental results present in the literature and the design of X-section connecting rod having different shank cross section width.i.e.26mm,25mm,24mm,23mm,22mm. In this analysis, the simulations of X-section connecting rod at static load of 64.7 KN and the configurations of connecting rod I-section and X-section design are proposed. The results show that converting I-section to X-cross section could reduce the slenderness ratio and increase a radius of gyration simultaneously. The slenderness ratio of the X-section is lower than that of I-section at the static load due to this strength and durability of connecting rod increases. In this analysis an X-section have higher strength than I-section. Read More...

A connecting rod subjected to a cyclic as well as axial load W may buckle with x-axis as neutral axis in the plane of rotation of the connecting rod, or y-axis is a neutral axis. The connecting rod is considered like both ends hinged for buckling about x-axis and one end is fixed and other end load is applied for buckling about y-axis. A connecting rod should be equally strong in buckling about either axis. Read More...

DESPECKLING OF ULTRASOUND IMAGES BASED ON ARTIFICIAL BEE COLONY ALGORITHM BY USING HYBRID MEDIAN FILTER
-M.SUDHAKAR ; R.GOPALAN
Image processing usually refers to the digital image processing. Digital image processing is use of the computer algorithms to perform image processing on digital images. As a subcategory of digital signal processing, digital image processing has the many advantages over analogy image processing. It allows a much wider range of the algorithms to be applied to the input data and can avoid problems such as the build-up of noise and signal distortion during processing. Ultrasound images are usually affected with an artefact called speckle. The presence of speckle is undesirable since it degrades image quality. Two-dimensional filters (2D) are used to process two-dimensional digital signals. For image quality determination metrics such as Mean Square Error, Peak Signal-to-noise ratio and Signal-to-noise ratio were used. The performance of the existing method is tested on several clinical ultrasound images such as those obtained liver tissues. The median filter method achieves 24.57(PSNR) and 226.66(MSE) which is higher than other existing method. The hybrid median filter with the ABC algorithm is used to obtain better higher PSNR and lesser MSE, which improve the better quality of image, will be the proposed system. Read More...

ANALYTICAL STUDY OF FIELD SHAper in electromagnetic welding
-NARESH G ; SHANTHALA K
Electromagnetic Welding (EMW) is a promising and relatively new manufacturing technology which is advantageous over conventional welding in many ways. EMW is a type of impact joining process which makes use of rapid energy source to accelerate and cause collision between two different metals at very high velocities by removing the layer of oxidation. The important characteristic of this process is non-contact Electromagnetic forces causes welding or joining process. The technique can be implemented for different applications, especially those in automotive industry. EMW is more efficient to produce complex components in high strength or low ductility materials. Also due to the plastic deformation in the process, welding between different materials is possible. It is necessary to concentrate the magnetic field in the desired region. The capacitor banks stores the high electrical energy in it. The changing magnetic field will induce eddy currents in the conductive outer work piece, also named the flyer tube. So considering the Lorentz force, the magnetic field outside the flyer tube will exert a force on the flyer tube due to the eddy currents, thrusting the tube inward in radial direction. If correctly executed the high velocity of the inward motion and thus the high-energy impact between outer and inner work piece will result in bonding/joining. It is necessary to concentrate the magnetic field in the desired region. To concentrate the magnetic flux and produce the magnetic pressure over the desired area of workpiece, field shaper can be used inside the working coil. This paper carries out a numerical simulation of different geometries of field shaper and effect of field shaper in EMW. Read More...

-Kaviyarasu.M
In this paper, we introduce the concept of Anti fuzzy p-ideals of TM-algebras, lower level cuts of a fuzzy set, lower level p-ideal and prove some results. We show that a fuzzy subset of a TM-algebra is a p-ideal if and only if the complement of this fuzzy subset is an anti-fuzzy p-ideal. Also we discussed few results of p-ideal of TM-algebra under homomorphism as well as anti-homomorphism. Cartesian product of Anti fuzzy p-ideal also discussed. Read More...
