A Best Possible Time Quantum for Advanced Round Robin with Shortest Job First Scheduling Algorithm
-Dipali Patel
CPU is the most important resource of computer. To control the sequence of invoking processes of CPU some scheduling algorithms are used. The aim of this algorithms are to reduce waiting time, turnaround time, context switch and CPU utilization. One of them is Round Robin which is mostly used in time shared system because each process is given a fix amount of time to execute processes. but effectiveness of this algorithm depends upon choice of Quantum time. It plays very important role for scheduling, if time is too small then context switch become very high and if it is very big then it will work as FCFS scheduling algorithm. In this paper I have discuss about the selection of quantum time, for that I have introduce a new formula which will help to reduce average waiting time, Turn around time and also context switch. As I have analyzed and tested, it give better performance than Round Robin(RR), IRR(Improved Round Robin), IRRSJF(Improved Round Robin with Shortest Job First),SARR(Self Adjust Round Robin). Clustering WSN using Fuzzy Logic and Genetic Algorithm
-Suraparaju Nikhil ; Surapaneni Vinod Krishna; Vempalli Mahesh; Radhika Baskar
In general, wireless sensor networks possess a number of sensor nodes that are capable of sensing, computing and communicating. Usually these are placed in atmosphere to get the data related to natural parameters like temperature, humidity, pressure etc,. In order to sense, compute and communicate the data, the sensor node utilizes some amount of energy from its battery source. The main drawback of wireless sensor networks is that each sensor node is energy limited, which means that a node can survive and function for a limited period of time. Thus the sensor node’s have small lifetime. This affects the whole sensor network lifetime. But it can be improved by undergoing a technique called Clustering. Many protocols were presented to perform this clustering. The main task in clustering is the election of cluster head. Previously LEACH protocol was used, where it ended up with random distribution of sensor nodes in the Wireless sensor network. Here we come up with fuzzy logic and genetic algorithm to elect the cluster head. Here, the Fuzzy module is used in sensor node and the genetic algorithm in the Base Station or SINK. First step involves in the process of nomination for being a cluster head takes place and the second step involves in selecting the best among the nominated nodes as a cluster head for that particular cluster. Thus the nomination process in first step uses the Fuzzy Logic and the selection process in the second step uses the Genetic Algorithm. This could really optimize the energy consumption of sensor node and thereby increase the network lifetime. Read More...

Development of Vacuum-Operated Engine Test Rig
-Gunjan Lodha ; Nabeel Nadir Sabooni; Kunal Sanjeev Sable; Amrutsingh Patil
An automobile engine on the assembly line undergoes various fitments of a large number of components until it is ready for its final dispatch. It so happens sometimes that some of the components may be missed out due to high and continuous workload. Such faulty engines are not ready for dispatch and have to be sent back for rework after the testing process has been performed. This leads to losses in terms of resources and time of the company. The engine test rig is an apparatus developed to check the engine fitments on the engine assembly line. The concept was to manufacture an engine which has zero defects. The test rig works on the principle of vacuum generation in the oil pathway of engine block. The amount of vacuum generated for a zero defect engine has a standard datum value. Deviation from the standard value of vacuum generated gives an indication of missing components. Greater the number of missing components more is the vacuum generated. Thus the fault is detected much earlier (on the assembly line itself) even before it is sent for testing and dispatch. Read More...

Data Hiding Techniques for an Efficient and Secure Communication
-Surekha Shrivastava ; Gajendra Singh Chandel; Kailash Patidar
Steganography has been in use since the presence of secret messages and this use has gained popularity as the internet became well-liked. Steganography works by replacing bits of useless or unused data in regular computer files (such as graphics, sound, text, HTML, or even floppy disks) with bits of different, invisible information. This hidden information can be plain text, cipher text, or even images. Audio steganography is a young branch of this discipline. An encoding mechanism is used for embedding the message into the audio file. This paper intends to give an overview of audio steganography, its uses and techniques. It also attempts to identify the requirements of a good steganographic algorithm and briefly reflects on which steganographic techniques are more suitable for which applications. Read More...

Blind Assistance Toolkit for Android using RFID Based Navigation
-Siddharth Hawa ; Vikrant Shinde; Sanchit Reshi
Radio Frequency Identification Tags or RFID tags is a relatively mature technology and its application has been ubiquitous due to planned implementation. RFID tags can be active or passive depending on their data processing and transmission capability. They interact with an RFID reader which relays the information to and from the processing device usually a computer. This technology can come to the aid of the visually disabled by aiding their navigation. The visually disabled face a stigma when it comes to using technology as the user interface lacks the ease of use and interaction features it should ideally possess. The existing applications aiding the visually disabled heavily rely on text to speech features which aren’t always effective in every scenario. RFID based navigation can be achieved by tagging objects using passive RFID tags and a reader fixed on the cane of the user. Other vital features like calling and messaging can be enhanced using gesture recognition. In case of an emergency the location of the user can be tracked using GPS. The advantages of using the toolkit involve lower cost, effective navigation and enhanced user experience. Read More...

Soft Hand Over for High Capacity Beam Pattern using MIMO
-Vishwanath ; Jyothi.H
A downlink soft handover scheme is proposed for cell edge users in 4G-LTE systems. To avoid capacity loss in cell edge areas the proposed handover scheme uses multi-cell MIMO cooperated by multiple base stations. Capacity of the 4G LTE is very high than the 3G LTE and also 4G is more faster because the main beam traverse towards the mobile user .4G LTE Variable step size has low mean square error which almost equal to nullify. In the proposed scheme, different multi-cell MIMO transmissions are adaptively exploited based on the spatial correlation of a downlink channel and path loss of adjacent cells by comparing link level capacity. MIMO is computed by using a method called singular value decomposition. SISO is used in the old LTE systems its capacity is less. Radiation pattern for 4G LTE is very high Read More...

Dielectric Properties and Relaxation of BiO⋅5NaO⋅5tio3–Linbo3Lead-Free Ceramics
-Varsha Sao
A new member of lead-free piezoelectric ceramics of the BNT-based group, (1 – x)Bi0⋅5Na0⋅5TiO3–xLiNbO3(x=0.002,0.004,0.01,0.014, was prepared by conventional solid state reaction and its dielectric properties and relaxation was investigated. X-ray diffraction showed that LiNbO3diffused into the lattice of Bi0⋅5Na0⋅5TiO3 to form a solid solution with perovskite-type structure. A diffuse character was proved by the linear fitting of the modified Curie–Weiss law. The temperature dependence of dielectric constant at different frequencies revealed that the solid solution exhibited relaxor characteristics different from classic relaxor ferroelectrics. The samples with x = 0⋅002 and 0⋅006 exhibited obvious relaxor characteristics near the low temperature dielectric abnormal peak, Tf, and the samples with x = 0⋅010 and 0⋅014 exhibited obvious relaxor characteristics between room temperature and Tf. The mechanism of relaxor behaviour was also discussed according to the macro-domain to micro-domain transition theory. Read More...

Data Hiding In Media Files Using Cryptography
-Shubhangi T Dhamdhere ; Dr. S. V. Gumaste
Security often requires that data be kept safe from unauthorized access. And the best line of defence is physical security (placing the machine to be protected behind physical walls). However, physical security is not always an option (due to cost and/or efficiency considerations). Instead, most computers are interconnected with each other openly, thereby exposing them and the communication channels that they use. Steganography secures information by protecting its confidentiality. It can also be used to protect information about the integrity and authenticity of data. Stronger Steganography techniques are needed to ensure the integrity of data stored on a machine that may be infected or under attack. So far Steganography is used in many forms but using it with Audio, Video & Image files is another Stronger Technique. The process of Steganography happens with Audio, Video & Image File for transferring more secure sensitive data. The Sensitive Data is Encoded with an Audio, Video & Image File and Passed over Insecure Channels to other end of Systems. Here we can use any file Format for Encryption and Decryption of Message. -Shah Virag A. ; Prof. Mahesh B. Shrivastav; Prof. Haresh M. Gandhi; Prof. Pinak S. Ramanuj; Prof. Milan K. Chudasama
The present study aims to utilize an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for modeling the rainfall-runoff relationship of Bhadar catchment area located in Nilakha Village, Gondal Taluka, Rajkot district, Gujarat, India. An Artificial Neural Network (ANN) methodology was employed to predict daily runoff as a function of precipitation, temperature, evaporation losses, infiltration losses and humidity. The paper illustrates the applications of the feed forward network for the Runoff prediction with various algorithms and accordingly, different structures of ANNs were used and their efficiencies in terms of the mean squared error ‘MSE’, training and validation determination coefficients ‘R’ to select better predicted Runoff data were examined. The daily hydrometric and climatic data of Bhadar Watershed in ANN were ranged from 1991 to 2013 and analyzed in order to calibrate the given models. Efficiencies of the Back-Propagation (BP), conjugate gradient (CG) and Levenberg-Marquardt (L-M) training algorithms are compared to improving the computed performances and 36 models were prepared to select a best model having mean square error ‘MSE’ nearer to zero and co-relation factor ‘R’ nearer to unity. The results revealed that the best model is composed of the feed-forward networks, trained by the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm and considering only one hidden layer. The investigation of sensitivity of the modeling accuracy to the content and length of training data has been carried out. The results extracted from the comparative study indicated that the Artificial Neural Network method is more appropriate and efficient to predict the river runoff than classical regression model. The ANN model provides a more systematic approach, reduces the length of calibration data, and shortens the time spent in calibration of the models, at the same time; it represents an improvement upon the prediction accuracy and flexibility of current methods. Test Automation for Smart Switches
-Bharath B.V. ; Parimala
Our project Test automation tool for smart switches is concerned about software tools. Which is used to know about the specific hardware device (switches and dimmers) by using adapters i.e. build in interface. We connect our adapter to the external hardware device and make connection between external hardware and our software tool. An adapter is an intermediate interface which extracts data which is needed for developer. Once the connection got established the developer can access all information about the hardware device like serial no, port no, temperature etc. Developer can add new products like switches, dimmers and add the description about the particular products. The switches are made using sensors called capacitive touch sensors .This capacitive touch sensors functions as wheels, buttons and sliders. It supports self-capacitance and mutual measurement without any help of external hardware. Capacitive touch sensors give good sensitivity and self-calibration and increase the tuning efficiency of user. The sensors are connected to the analog charge integrator of the capacitive touch sensors using the device input output pins. Once the connection has been done the user can access all the information about particular external hardware device. When our software is connected with the an hardware device like ex: switches or dimmers It gives the count that number of times the switch was on and off and also it gives the information like to what period of time the switch was on. Our switches and dimmers are connected through a router or gateway .The switches and dimmers are reinvented with a high scope which are of having capacitive touch sensors, these switches and dimmers which gives rich user interface. Only admin can add the products and he can give the description about the products like switch id, switch type dimmer id, dimmer type, connectivity type and the description about each products. Any end user can retrieve the information of the switches and dimmers. The information would be like type of switch, switch id and end-user can also know the temperature of the room for every five minutes and where the switches and dimmers are located by using the port number. And these switches and dimmers are made with wide range of backlit icons wand designs are exquisite. Our switches and dimmers are loaded with and without connectivity options like Zigbee,Zwave,WIFI,Bluetooth.so that user can operate these switches and dimmers from anywhere in the home. Read More...
