-Sandhya Pushkar Singh ; Nusrat Ali ; Sabih Ahmad; Dr. J.K. SINGH; Manoj Kumar
India is facing a water crisis and by 2025 it is estimated that India's population will be suffering from severe water scarcity. Water scarcity leads to problems such as food shortage, decreased economic development, regional water conflicts and environmental degradation and drought problem occur. As the industries are growing day by day the load on effluent treatment and disposal is also increasing. Now the condition is getting worst so new treatment and new techniques are needed to be discovered. This paper presents a review of existing technologies for treatment of grey water. Bioremediation, sand filter and simple technologies have been shown to have limited effect on grey water. GAC (granular activated carbon) low cost adsorbent helps to remove the dye and color pigments. Activated carbon, bark & charcoal filter and Sand filtration technique is the oldest methods for treatment of grey water. Membranes are reported to provide good solid removal. The best methods were observed that combine different types of methods to ensure effective treatment for grey water. Physto-remediation filtration technique is helpful to save the soil nutrients. The treated grey water can be used for non-potable use such as irrigation or gardening toilet flushing, car washing and construction purposes. Read More...

Photo tagging is becoming more and more consequential now-a-days to organize and search astronomically immense number of photos on convivial websites. To engender high quality convivial tags and automatic tag recommendation is the main research topic. In this paper main focus is on the personalized and geo-categorical tag recommendation. Consider users and geo locations have different preferred tags assigned to a photo, an incipient subspace learning method is proposed to individually discover both the predilections. The goal is learn coalesced space which is shared by visual domain and textual domain to make visual features and textual features commensurable. Visual feature is considered to be lower caliber representation on semantics than textual feature. Supplement ally intermediate space is introduced for the visual space and expecting it to have consistent local structure with text space. Cumulated space is mapped from the textual space and the intermediate space respectively. When an untagged photo with its geo-location is given predicated on the most proximate neighboring search utilizer preferred and geo-location-concrete tags are found in the corresponding cumulated space. Then cumulate these obtained tags and the visual appearance of the photo to find semantically and visually homogeneous photos, among which the most frequently used tags are suggested to the utilizer and utilizer is sanctioned to cull predicated on his predilection. Conclusively, the tags cognate to the keywords, geo-location and utilizer profile information are recommended to the utilizer automatically. Read More...

An Embedded PLC development for laboratory purpose.
-Prof.Mali A.S. ; Mr. Sutar S.M.
As the PLC is part of an automated system there are several modules that should be included, or be a prerequisite, in any course. Those modules are software engineering, electrical design and in some cases, mechanical design. The PLC apart from being run as a “stand alone†course is now an integral part of courses ranging from agricultural engineering to mechatronics and industrial automation. PLC courses, as for all control engineering courses, must deliver “a balance of practical skills and theoretical knowledge†and as such are laboratory based. Increasingly, in response to demands from industry PLC courses are being run in-house, in training rooms, away from the traditional venue of the automation laboratory using hardwired “kits†and PC based simulators. Concept and features of PLC and embedded system found possible to combine and develop an embedded PLC for teaching students in laboratory. Flexibility of the Embedded PLC makes it relatively easy and less costly to teach the basic principle of different kinds of PLCs. Aim to design embedded PLC is to combine the advantage of PLC and embedded system together. As PLC has become major functional block in industrial automation. Engineering education places a heavy priority on laboratory experience of PLC operation. To give practical experience of PLC operation, PLC setup in laboratories is required. A cost incurred in the setting up of comprehensive and modern PLC laboratory facilities is very high. Such laboratory requires periodic updating of teaching material and equipment. PLC designed for educational purpose has to be flexible and should meet a wide range of end-user need to give best experience of experimental results. Read More...

-Mr. Pranesh B. Bamankar ; Mr. Jagdale Shubham P. ; Mr. Mane Ruturaj R
Biodiesel is to be a solution for future. Biodiesel is produced by transesterificaton the oil or fat with an alcohol (methanol/ethanol) in the presence of a base catalyst. Waste vegetable oil methyl ester is also a major feedstock in the production of biodiesel. Mainly animal fats and vegetable oils are used for the production of biodiesel. The transesterification reaction yields methyl or ethyl esters (biodiesel) and a byproduct of glycerin. Parametric optimization of process parameters viz. reaction time, reaction temperature, methanol/oil molar ratio yields in ecologically friendly properties, having the potential opportunity to be used in biodiesel production process as heterogeneous base catalyst. Optimization adopted by using various optimization techniques such as Taguchi, SRM, genetic algorithms etc. Today with the help of advance technology and the knowledge there is a way to control pollution; use of biofuel can be an alternative to current fuels. Biodiesel may be used in any diesel automotive engine in its pure form or blended with petroleum-based diesel. No further modifications are required, and the results are low cost, renewable source, less exhaust emissions. This work shows how use of biodiesel will affect the emission of pollutants and performance parameters of diesel engine. Diesel Engine is compression ignition engine and use diesel as fuel. -Mehulkumar Karshanbhai Patel ; Jitendra B Patel; Kalpesh S Patel
Electrical discharge machining is a technological process use, when very complex shapes on hard materials with a high geometrical and dimensional accuracy are required. Material removal rate and surface finish are most important output parameters, which decide the machining performance. Present study attempts to optimize the process on the powder mixed electrical discharge machining (PMEDM) of En-8. In the PMEDM process, the powder particle suspended in the dielectric fluid disperses and makes the discharging energy dispersion almost uniform; it displays multiple discharging effects. Also the plasma channel becomes enlarged and widened. This phenomenon improves results in both MRR and surface finish. ANOVA analysis carried out which conclude that current is the main factor which contributes much more, but the contribution of concentration is also considerable. Here the value of MRR is improved from 41.15 mm3/min (in conventional EDM) to 45.64 mm3/min in powder mixed EDM. Also surface roughness is improved from its minimum value in conventional EDM 7.12 µm to 6.93 µm. Read More...

Design and Finite Element Analysis of Carbon Fibre Rotor Lug
-Doddanagouda K ; H.S Manjunath
A brake is a device for slowing or stopping the motion of a machine or vehicle, or restraining it from starting to move again. The basic principle behind any braking operation is to create a controlled friction process that increases the rate of deceleration. Acceleration converts heat energy into motion. Deceleration converts motion into heat energy. Since the rotor and stator assembly account for an important fraction of whole landing gear weight, a constant effort has been made to decrease their weight through the application of advanced composite materials namely, carbon composite materials. The important properties of carbon fibers such as small size, lesser weight, are used to optimize the rotor to meet the aircraft braking requirements. The present study focus on the root cause analysis to identify the reasons for failure in the existing rotor assembly and also to propose a new optimum design solution to overcome the same field problem. The present research focuses on 3 major sections: 1) Field failure analysis to investigate the carbon damage, 2) Composite carbon rotor load distribution analysis and 3) Carbon fatigue strength analysis to meet the minimum strength requirements. The principal challenge in modeling composite carbon rotor and stator assembly which will be forced together to generate the friction, which is converted into heat creates lot of bending and shear loads on the root lug assembly. Complex analysis modeling for composite material is carried out in ANSYS in order to perform the various design iterations to predict the best design solution to overcome the failures. Read More...

Relationship of Goal Orientation with Academic help-seeking Behaviour among Secondary School Students
-Gunjan Nasa ; Prof. Hemant Lata Sharma
This study explored the association between Goal Orientation and Academic Help-seeking Behaviour of secondary school students. Goal Orientation is an outlook towards demonstrating ability and provides a motivational framework for how individuals recognize, construe and evaluate responses to achievement situations. There are two approaches that individuals pursue in achievement settings: a mastery goal orientation to develop aptitude by acquiring new skills and mastering new situations and a performance goal orientation is to demonstrate the adequacy of one's competence by seeking favorable judgments and avoiding negative judgments. Help-seeking is a dynamic strategy that serves as an aid to achieve academic success in the face of challenging tasks. In the present paper, relationship of goal orientation with academic help-seeking behaviour was found and Goal Orientation was predicted on the basis of academic help-seeking and demographic variables. Descriptive Survey Method was used. Goal orientation questionnaire by Elliot and McGregor (2001) and Academic Help-seeking scale from Self-stigma of academic help-seeking adapted by Winograd was administered. Both the scales were adapted in Indian condition. The Cronbach Alphas for the GO and AHS were 0.80 and 0.76 respectively. The findings of the study showed that mastery goal orientation approach was significantly and positively correlated with academic help-seeking. On the other hand, performance goal orientation approach was not significantly correlated with academic help-seeking behaviour. It was also investigated that Academic help-seeking has significant impact on goal orientation. The practical implications and future directions of the study are discussed. Read More...

Vibration Analysis of a cracked prismatic Beam
-DEEPAK RANJAN BISWAL
Vibration analysis is one of the fundamental tasks in designing of structural and mechanical system. The effect of vehicle suspension system, vibration absorber on the rotating machineries and the dynamic behaviour of machine tool structures due to excitation are the important information that design engineer wants to obtain. It has been observed that most of the structural members fail due to the presence of cracks. The cracks are developed mainly due to fatigue loading. Existence of crack in a beam not only affects the stiffness but also it affects the mechanical behaviour of the beam. Due to the existence of such cracks the frequencies of natural vibration, amplitudes of forced vibration, and areas of dynamic stability change. In order to identify the magnitude and location of the crack, analysis of these changes is essential. The present article deals with the analysis of a cracked beam with transverse open crack and investigates the mode shape frequencies. Read More...

-NARESH SHIMPI ; RAHIL MODI; MONIL SHAH
Consumer research shows new car buyers want to consider vehicle safety before making a vehicle purchase decision. Research has been going on for incorporation of new technologies of automobile safety aimed at improving safety either by reducing the risk of a crash occurring or by improving the protection offered by a vehicle in the event of a crash. There is a wide range of safety features available for motor vehicles that can assist in avoiding crashes or making them less severe. One of the most important features is safety airbags in cars. No safety device has consumed more attention and resources than the airbag. We know that the presence of airbag reduces fatality risk to drivers. Airbags are subject of serious government and industry research. And the other one is anti-lock braking system (ABS). Nowadays ABS is a part of almost every vehicle. This system increases safety of the people sitting in the vehicle at the moment of stopping on a slippery or unstable surface. The point is to assure a good controllability of the vehicle even if the wheels are in slip. This paper analyses the mechanism, advantages, disadvantages etc. of both the features and explains the importance of both the features. And also mentions the necessity of safety features in a vehicle. Read More...

Simulation and Analysis of Photovoltaic Fed Motor Pump System with Maximum Power Point Tracking Techniques
-OMPRAKASH PATLE
Solar power system finds extensive application in remote areas where access to the grid supply is impractical. From livestock watering to remote home or village water supply needs are met from the solar based water pumps system. Most of the Photovoltaic water pumping systems are connected directly to the solar arrays and use DC motor driven pumps. This system is easy to operate but is inefficient and requires frequent maintenance. Solar water pumps operated with AC drive uses an inverter with ac motor or induction motor. Induction motor offer better choice in terms of size, ruggedness, efficiency and maintainability. The DC power from solar array is boosted and fed to an inverter which gives AC. Output of inverter drives the motor coupled to a water pump. Photovoltaic power system usually require maximum power point tracking controller, which is an electronic system that operates the Photovoltaic modules in a manner that allows the modules to produce all the power they are capable of. There are different types of MPPT algorithms like Perturbation and Observation, incremental conductance etc. which can be grouped as traditional techniques. Photovoltaic powered water pumps are basically similar to any other pumping system. When there is enough sunlight, the system functions well. Read More...

A Review Paper On Failure Analysis of Cylindrical Roller Bearing
-Mr.B.J.Jugale ; Mr.M.V.Kharade
Cylindrical roller bearings are commonly used in aircraft power transmission, machine tools, steel industries and others due to their precision and high load carrying capacity. In present study, an experimental test rig has been developed to investigate the wear in roller bearing. The changes in micro-geometry of the bearing components have been observed through scanning electron microscope. Some major cracks have been found over the inner race surface. Solid debris particles, removed from the inner race surface, further damage the other bearing surfaces. The lubricating grease has been also failed to provide elastohydrodynamic lubrication between the inner race and rollers. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy has been applied to examine the degradation of the lubricating grease. Influence of temperature, misalignments and roughness on the specific lubricant film thickness is discussed. Results show an impact of these parameters on roughness of bearing components. The Solutions Of Travelling Salesman Problem using Ant Colony and Improved Particle Swarm Optimization Techniques
-Pratibha Singh ; Dr. K.L Bansal
In this paper we consider two widely used Swarm Intelligence (SI) inspired heuristic approaches Ant Colony Optimization and Improved Particle Swarm Optimization to solve classical optimization problem called Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP) that cannot be solved conventionally because it is NP hard problem. If one tries to solve TSP using conventional approach it will take years to find optimal solution. Therefore, Heuristic algorithm is the feasible solution to such problem. Interest of researchers has been attracted by Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) and Improved Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithms because of their simple, effective and efficient nature in solving real world optimization problems. The comparative analyses based on Performance have been done by using ACO and Improved PSO respectively in solving TSP in this paper. The comparative results are shown and it is devised that Improved PSO is better approach to solve the traveling salesman problem. Read More...

A Similarity Measure for Text Classification and Clustering
-P. Mayilsamy ; P. Elango
This paper introduces a live of similarity between two clustering’s of constant dataset made by two completely different algorithms, or maybe constant algorithmic rule. Mensuration the similarity between documents is a crucial operation within the text process field. This paper projected a replacement similarity measure. To compute the similarity between two documents with relevance a feature, the proposed measure takes the subsequent three cases into account: a) The feature seems in each documents, b) The feature seems in just one document, and c) The feature seems in none of the documents. For the primary case, the similarity will increase because the distinction between the two concerned feature values decreases. Moreover, the contribution of the distinction is generally scaled. For the second case, a hard and fast worth is contributed to the similarity. For the last case, the feature has no contribution to the similarity. The effectiveness of the live is evaluated on many real-world knowledge sets for text classification and bunch issues. Read More...

Experimental Investigation on Effect of Fire on Properties of Concrete with the Use of Admixture
-Rchita S Bawankar ; V.D. Vaidya; Valsson Varghese
Damage due to fire can cause in terms of loss of life, homes and livelihoods. One of the advantages of concrete over other building materials is its inherent fireresistive properties. However, concrete structures must still be designed for fire effects. Structural components must still be able to withstand dead & imposed loads without collapse even though the rise in temperature causes a decrease in the strength & modulus of elasticity for concrete. Fire resistance is measured in terms of structural stability, structural integrity and insulation. This Experimentation involve the study of residual strength in concrete after exposure to elevated temperatures for concrete in which coarse aggregate replace with (20%, 40% and 60%) blast furnace slag and additional 1% steel fiber is added to increase the tensile strength of concrete. The effect of elevated temperature at 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000 and 1200 for the exposure of 1hours are studied. Compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength are obtained after exposure to elevated temperature. Also investigated colour change, area of colour spot, width of crack, types of crack, of samples when exposed to fire at different temperatures and exposure times. Read More...

A Survey on Trust Models for Secure Data Transmission in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN)
-A Divya Preetha ; P.Prittopaul
Security is the most questing issue in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) now-a-days because of the various attacks on mobile nodes. Although a number of proposals have been reported concerning security in Wireless Sensor Networks, provisioning security remains a critical and challenging task. Trust is an important aspect of Wireless Sensor Networks that enables sensor nodes to cope with uncertainty and uncontrollability caused by the free will of other nodes. However due to the computational complexity constraints and excessive energy consumption, trust computation and management is a highly challenging task. Analyzing the trust level of a node has a positive influence on the confidence with which two sensor nodes communicate since an untrustworthy node can adversely affect the quality and reliability of data. A detailed survey on various trust based routing protocols and various trust computation models is presented in this paper. To boot our work, we have analyzed various works on trust dynamics like trust propagation, prediction and aggregation models, and the impact of trust on various security services and the influence of network dynamics on trust dynamics. -PATEL NIKHILKUMAR RASIKLAL ; Mr. Nilamkumar S. Patel
Hooks are employed in heavy industries to carry tonnes of loads safely. These hooks have a big role to play as far as the safety of the hoist loaded is concerned. With more and more industrialization the rate at which these hooks are forged are increasing. This work has been carried out on one of the major hoist hook carrying a larger load comparatively. So in present work the solid modeling and finite element analysis of crane hook has been done using Solidworks and ANSYS workbench. For analysis purpose virtual model of crane hook is prepared by picking data from design data book. Curved beam flexure formula is used for determination of stresses in crane hook analytically. Finite Element Analysis have been performed on trapezoidal cross sections. To investigate the static stress results, both finite element method and exact solution method are applied and compare the stress results obtained by finite element and exact solution methods. From the output of these analyses it is observed that results obtained are in close agreement with each other and maximum stress concentration occurs at inner most surfaces. Read More...
