A Literature Review on Optimization of Process Parameters of Wire-Cut Electrict Discharge Machine using Tungsten Die Tool Steel Using Taguchi Method
-Mr. Harish Kumar Sharma ; Deepak Gupta
Wire-cut Electric Discharge Machine (WEDM) process is one of the most widely used non-traditional machining processes in current manufacturing. This work presents the effect using different combinations of input parameters like pulse on time, pulse off time, output responses like kerf width, MRR, surface roughness (Ra) and the surface topography on different types of materials using design of experiments. A standard orthogonal array in Taguchi is used as a technique in design of experiments. The selection of the parameters depends on the requirements based on a better surface roughness or a maximum material removal rate. Hence an appropriate combination of the variables can be selected accordingly. Read More...

Condition Monitoring Techniques and Simulation of Transformer Differential Protection Scheme using MATLAB
-Varun J. Pithwa
Differential Protection is expected to play a key role in the protection system of power transformer. Two of the most typical weaknesses of the power transformer differential protection are long delays or even a failure to operate in case of heavy internal faults with current transformer saturation, and unwanted operations for external faults. These disadvantages can be avoided if the position of the fault is quickly and correctly determined. The differential protection relay is used for power transformer differential protection and is capable of protection transformers of any vector group. This paper deals with steps of modeling the differential relay with the Matlab Simulink model and the application of the modeled relay in testing a protection system. In this case, simulating the differential current transformer that includes vector group compensation. Simulation done with main part are , setting of the relay, zero sequence elimination of the ground connected transformer current transformer, vector compensation of the secondary winding current transformer output and final decision to trip the breakers in an event of a fault. Voice Monitored Wheel Chair Control
-Vivek Apurva Shah
People suffering from Parkinson's disease or from paralysis (paraplegia or quadriplegia) have the inability to move their limbs and other voluntary organs, they are dependent on someone's help to move around all the time and this makes them feel incapable and brings down their morale to survive. A solution to this becomes inevitably necessary in order to provide them with the necessary mobility and independence as they are inferior to nobody. The existing large scale manufactured versions of the wheelchair are either manually driven i.e. by the help another individual or hand driven. Paralyzed patients however do not have the ability to move their limbs but do possess the ability of speech which is the whole concept behind this voice driven wheelchair. The aim of this wheelchair is to provide a whole new platform of independent existence to these patients in the form a voice guided wheelchair. An implementation of the manufacture of this wheelchair on a large scale, the reduction of cost by simplicity in setting up and working. This will enable the wheelchair to be provided at an affordable price to the common man, this acted as another big driving force. Read More...

Study on Effect of Steel Fibers on Impact Resistance of High Strength Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (HSFRC) Subjected To Drop Weight Test
-Kushal Ratanlal Jaiswal ; Sanjay S. Jamkar
Impact resistance of M60 grade high strength concrete (HSC) and high strength steel fiber reinforced concrete (HSFRC) with fiber volume fraction (Vf) of 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 % is investigated by using drop weight test method as recommended by ACI Committee 544. Due to non-availability of standard drop weight test equipment in India. Fabricated drop weight equipment is used. The obtained results from drop weight test suggest that addition of steel fibers in concrete at 0.5% Vf shows decrease in first crack impact resistance in comparison to HSC of same strength. While it shows some increase for first crack impact resistance than HSC at steel fiber Vf of 1.5% followed by 2 and 1 %. HSFRC showed good increase in ultimate failure impact resistance for various steel fibers Vf. It continuously improved as steel fiber Vf in concrete increases. Read More...

Study on Green Cloud Computing and Environmental Feasibility
-Shraddha Painjane ; Dhanashree kadu
Cloud computing is an infrastructural model that is used for enabling convenient, on-demand access to compiled pool of computing resources. Sharing of resources is its primary concept which helps in achieving coherence and economies of scale. Cloud computing is a concept in which multiple users can access the compiled or heaped resources or update their data without purchasing licences for different applications. The main advantage of cloud computing model is that the user can access services based on their requirements irrespective of where the service is being hosted. Cloud computing is an infrastructure that is vastly scalable and cost effective due to which there is an enormous growing demand for it. This has led to a critical issue of increased energy consumption at data centres which are indirectly increasing the operational cost. Due to this, the profit margin of cloud providers has decreased. Another serious issue has emerged due to increased energy consumption is high carbon emission which makes it unsafe for environment. Thus, in this chapter, we will discuss various elements of Clouds that contributes to the entire energy consumption and also explain the roles of cloud users in achieving this goal. Read More...

Designing and Simulation of Grid Connected Inverter with LCL Filter
-Saurabh Katiyar ; Dr. Mahendra Kumar
In this paper a grid connected inverter is designed in Linear Technology simulator LTSpice. Keeping in mind that the grid connected inverter is very expensive a cheaper and simple inverter has been designed. We use highly efficient MOSFET switching along with efficient op-amps. We have used zero-crossing detector circuit to detect the grid frequency and make frequency synchronization. A 12 volt solar power is provided by the DC source and 12 volts pure sine wave AC generated which can be step-up to required level. We have used a real time analog pulse width modulator generating pulse width modulated signal at 7.75 kHz. This PWM output is applied to the H-Bridge switching circuit to generate sine wave output hence this switching signal SPWM. The output of the H-Bridge output is analogous to the SPWM. This signal has been filtered to reduce the harmonic distortion. We have used an efficient LCL filter to minimize the harmonic distortion in the output of inverter. The output of our inverter has the total harmonic distortion 0.3%. A MOSFET driver helps efficiently operate the MOSFET at high frequency. The efficiency of our design is more than 98%. Read More...

Powering, Load Distribution & Braking of A Dump Truck
-Kamasani Bujji Babu
powering i.e. how to calculate the power required for a dump truck, what are the factors to be considered while deciding the power requirement and then select an engine which will provide sufficient power to dump truck. Load distribution i.e. how much load is coming on the front axle and rear axle when the truck is in moving on horizontal surface with zero % gradient. Also we will discuss the load distribution on front & rear axles when the dump truck is climbing a gradient and when the dump truck coming along the downhill. Weight transfer between the axles while climbing a gradient and while coming down through a downhill. This load distribution dictates the design of mainframe, wheel base distance, dump body design and selection of tires of a rigid dump truck. Braking i.e.in braking we will discuss about the stopping distance calculation as per ISO 3450 for rigid dump trucks and the actual measured stopping distance of a dump truck. Conditions for measuring the stopping distance of a dump truck, Effects of driver’s reaction, gradient, speed and brake response on the stopping distance and the brake ratio generally used in the dump trucks. Efficient RADAR Tracking Using Adaptive Kalman Filter
-Akash Kumar Shrivas ; Anirudh Mudaliar
Radar tracking plays a crucial role within the space of early warning and detection system, whose preciseness is closely connected with filtering rule. There are various nonlinear filtering algorithms at the present, owning their explicit characteristics. Through the analyses of linear and nonlinear information filters, we discover that KF is simple to implement and has been wide used. Therefore, we'll simulate and show the performance of the Kalman information filter (KF). One of the issues with the Kalman filter is that they'll not strong against modeling uncertainties. The Kalman filter algorithm is that the optimum filter for a system while not uncertainties. The performance of a Kalman filter is also considerably degraded if the particular system model doesn't match the model on that the Kalman filter was primarily based, therefore required an advance version of Kalman filter , This filter is known as Adaptive Kalman Filter (AKF). Kalman filter (KF) is mostly applicable for linear system i.e. where speed are linear but Radar movements are nonlinear and they cannot easily track with linear system and estimation in Radar system is also not easy, so we can say that Kalman filter is not efficient where delay or uncertainties are present ,So we required a new filter they work efficiently in those condition , we use Adaptive Kalman filter (AKF). Automatic Grading of Figures in Digitalized Answer Scripts
-Sandeep Kartha R ; Aby Abahai T; Surekha Mariam Varghese
Examinations are used for measuring the knowledge level of students. From previous times itself, examinations are evaluated according to conceptual content present in it. If there is an automated system for evaluating the answers and figures, the evaluation can be done much faster. A new system is introduced for the evaluation of hand drawn images. Handwriting recognition itself is one of the most challenging research areas in field of image processing and pattern recognition. So the purpose of the system is to evaluate the student’s hand drawn images and to verify that how much it is correlated with the manual evaluation of images. The texts and shapes that are appearing in the images are extracted using image processing techniques. The grades are calculated by comparing it with the original image. The system aims to make an automated system to evaluate student’s hand drawn image which produces the grades and to check whether the system is effective similar to the manual evaluation method. -Satish Biradar ; Manjunatha C; Rakesh T. G.
The gears0are used for a wide range of industrial0applications. Their0function is to convert input0provided by prime mover into an output with lower0speed and corresponding0higher torque. Contact9stress is generally the deciding0factor for the determination0of the requisite dimensions9of gears. Research9on gear action has confirmed fact that beside contact9pressure, sliding9velocity, viscosity of lubricant9as well as other factors such as frictional9forces, contact stresses0also influence the formation of pits on the tooth0surface. So thorough0study of contact stress developed0between the different matting0gears are mostly important0for the gear design. Current0Analytical methods of calculating0gear contact stresses0use Hertz’s0equations, which were originally0derived for contact between0two cylinders. So for contact9stress it is necessary to develop0and to determine appropriate0models of contact0elements, and to calculate0contact stresses and tooth bending stress of mitre bevel gear using ABAQUS and compare0the results with Hertzian0theory. Design of horizontal pressure vessel for vacuum system drain collector receiver
-Mr. Prasad L. Mane ; Prof.V.Murali Mohan
Pressure vessel is one of the most important and critical component in any processing industries, such as oil & gas, Chemical Processing Industries, Pharmaceutical. Pressure vessels often have a combination of high pressures together with high temperatures, and in some cases flammable fluids or highly radioactive materials. Because of such hazards it is imperative that the design be such that no leakage can occur. In addition these vessels have to be designed carefully to cope with the operating temperature and pressure. Plant safety and Integrity is of fundamental concern in pressure vessel design and these of course depend on the adequacy of design codes. The modes that are most likely to cause a failure of a pressure vessels, as identiï¬ed by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)Code, are as follows: Excessive elastic deformation including elastic instability, Excessive plastic deformation, Brittle fracture, Stress rupture or creep deformation (inelastic), Plastic instability and increment, collapse, High strain and low cycle fatigue, Stress corrosion, Corrosion fatigue. The proposed work focuses on design and analysis of horizontal pressure vessel for Vacuum system drain collection receiver based on (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1. As per the customer requirement, the pressure vessel will be designed for a capacity of 0.5m3. The vessel is required to contain an internal working pressure of 0.815 kg/cm2 with Temperature is 51.60C. In order to make this pressure vessel safe, the vessel is designed for Maximum pressure is 1.54 kg/cm2, with design temperature of the fluid is 1020C. The materials of the vessel for the following components are used: Shell & Head: SA 516 GR 70.The design and analysis is emphasizes basically to overcome the failures due to Support in operating condition or in hydro test condition, heavy wind at site, Earthquake, thermal stresses, full vacuum inside the vessel etc. and also overcoming defects due to Cracks in Pressure Vessel Parallel and perpendicular to vessel axis. Non Invasive Blood Pressure Measurement Techniques
-Priyanka Dubey
Blood pressure fluctuation is the most common health problem in all human beings. It is the root cause of cardiovascular diseases. During the last decades noninvasive blood pressure measurement devices are more commonly used in the hospitals and home care for routine examinations and monitoring. Comparatively low prices, less complicated in use and automatic measurement features making these devices more popular. However, non-invasive measures devices have lower accuracy and yield small systematic differences in numerical results. In this paper we review recent developments in the methodology of non-invasive arterial blood pressure measurement .Noninvasive pressure measurement techniques include: Oscillometry, Auscultation, Doppler ultrasound, Palpation. Particular importance will be placed on describing the methods’ strong and weak points .The noninvasive auscultatory measurements are quick and simple, and give less strain to the patient. Require less expertise in fitting, have virtually no complications, and are less unpleasant and painful for the patient. Read More...

-Meghraj Prakash Agnihotri ; Archana A.Hatkar
Aero plane safe landing-area detection system is invented for aero plane emergency landing, which is based on images acquired by aeroplane-mounted cameras. In this system, top-four important factors of unplanned landing, (emergency landing) are aero plane hijack, running out of fuel, extremely bad weather, medical emergency. So, we focus on the detection mechanism of safe landing area. terrain images acquired by aircraft-mounted cameras(Here we used goggle map images) and image stitching for a bigger field-of-view (FOV) &image improvement for increased visibility have been performed .Specifically, we propose a horizon detection to identify the ground in the image. Then, Segmentation is used to find out various clusters based on Color, performed by K-Mean Method. Principle component analysis is used for feature extraction & Classification of various clusters done by Cross correlation Classifier. Dimension assessment is done by using blob Analysis. Then, detected landing sites are sorted in descending order, based on size of area. If the dimensions of a candidate region exceed the minimum requirement for safe landing, the potential landing-site is considered a safe candidate and is highlighted on the human machine interface. At the end the pilot makes the final decision by confirming one of the candidates and also by considering other factors such as wind speed& its direction. Read More...

Improvement of Water Quality in Howrah District of West Bengal by using Bio-fuel
-Bablu Manna
This paper examines that transportation generates maximum pollution in Howrah district mainly in urban area. Development & urbanization has led this city population increased very rapidly in the recent past. Howrah has a well connectivity of multimode road network which is very benefiting the population but use of conventional fossil fuel slowly ruining the Biodiversity and National Wealth like Water. Vehicular emissions from transport sector are main sources of chemical hazard, which releases toxic gases to the atmosphere, like NOx, SO2 & CO, mixes with air & condense with water, evaporates to form cloud and then reaches the ground in the form of acid rain, which contaminates the fresh water sources & damages the water bodies/resources at large. This can be reduced by using of bio fuel in mixture 10% with the petroleum products. Bio fuel is a renewable fuel & does not have any harmful chemical that damages the environment. It is bio degradable in nature can be harvested in waste land or semi-arid land. It has high flash point & cost is less than petroleum products [1]. The Govt. of India & the Govt. of West Bengal has already announced different levy on bio fuel production in Howrah district & many cooperative societies also taken up the matter seriously at district level. Transportation sector emits pollution higher than any other sector, according to data around 73% in India 2005 [13] & it is forecasting that between 2020 the transport sector is going to have 21% increase in emission [12]. The major concern for west Bengal is that the transport emission mainly SPM10 & NO2 in industrial belt especially in Howrah district [14]. Howrah district was regarded as Manchester of West Bengal, because of its industrial growth in pre Independence era. Improper planning, and unlawful design has choked the district especially urban life, the city is famous for its multimode transport facilities. Read More...

A few application circumstances require a security for information that has secure access to information hang on away hubs at interims a DTN or to substance of the messages steered through the system. Here, we've an inclination to use a way that endorses secure access of data that is referred to as Ciphertext Policy Attributed-Predicated mystery composing (CPABE) approach. There are a few vulnerability all through this situation. Few of those are administration of arrangements required for appropriate validation of client and therefore the strategies to recover the data. Thusly we've an inclining to use a promising arrangement i.e. Ciphertext-strategy trait predicated encoding (CP-ABE) to determine the problem of getting to information. However, by applying CP - ABE in decentralized Many security and protection challenges as an aftereffect of DND with reference to the property renouncement, key escrow, and coordination of characteristics issued from various ascendant substances. Here, we have a tendency to have an affinity to propose a safe and proficient administration of information at interims the decentralized Disruption Tolerant Network (DTN) wherever various key ascendant substances severally deal with their characteristics. Design and Analysis of Clutch Plate for Automatic Single Plate Clutch
-Ravikiran Mohan Tate ; Dr. Suhas H. Sarge
Conventional transmission system using single plate clutch has to perform 15 operations to shift from low speed to high speed, out of the 10 operations are clutch operations. Hence making clutch operations automatic will reduce human effort. The auto-disengagement single clutch employs only one set of compression springs instead of the usual two sets, with this arrangement it is possible to reduce the weights of the centrifugal members. This arrangement keeps the clutch in normally disengaged condition unlike the conventional clutch that is in engaged condition and has to be disengaged by manual Lever. In transmitting power from engine to gearbox, Clutch plate plays an important role. So in this paper we designed a single plate clutch by using empirical formulae. By using CATIA V5 we have created a model of single plate clutch and then imported in ANSYS workbench for analysis. We have conducted static structural analysis of clutch base and its friction plate with lining material as FTL 097. The results are compared for the maximum deformation and stresses. Read More...

Improvement of Power Generation by Recovering Energy from Exhaust Gases of Blast Furnace by Rectifying the Existing Problems
-Vinay Kumar D S ; Dodda Hanumesha
The Blast Furnaces in steel plant operates at a high top gas pressure. The gases coming out of the furnace are consisting of huge amount of dust particles and also moisture content.. Cleaned gases are used in the steel plant for heating purposes at relatively low pressures. In this process, a large amount of pressure energy is exhausted across the valve. So because of this reason, GET (GAS EXPANSION TURBINE) mechanism which involves recovery of the pressure energy of the gases from the top of a blast furnace is used to drive the turbines in turn to generate the power. In the existing plant JSW Steel Limited, Bellary District, Karnataka (Where this project work is carried out) some problems such as the mechanical obstruction caused by entry of foreign material through gas cleaning plant, decreasing of flow of blast furnace gases, increasing of inlet blast furnace gas pressure from 1.95 bar (Normal) to 2.15 bar, non-opening of guide vanes beyond 75%, nonlinear of guide vane actuators and also non-working of water spray nozzles inside the turbine; are occurred which result the decrease in the power generation from rated 12.2 MW to 10 MW. So, in the present work, certain methods and modifications are used to resolve the above mentioned problems the power generation. Process is recovered which is economically remarkable by the present work. Read More...

-Sharayu Rohakale ; Dahiphale Poonam; Medhe Priti; Dhokchawale Komal
Driving with drowsiness is one of the major cause or a reason behind the road and traffic accidents. Driver fatigue is a significant factor in a large number of vehicle accidents. So there is a need to develop such a techniques which helps to prevents the growth rate of such accidental things.for development of technologies for detecting or preventing drowsiness at the wheel is a major challenge in the field of accident avoidance systems.Drowsy driver detection system is one of the potential applications of intelligent vehicle systems.Due to the hazard that drowsiness presents on the road, methods need to be developed for counteracting its affects. This paper aims to describes a real-time non-intrusive method for detecting drowsiness of driver by using yawning measurement. Our proposed system involves several steps including the real time detection and tracking of driver’s face, detection and tracking of the mouth contour and the detection of yawning based on measuring both the rate and the amount of changes in the mouth contour area. It uses webcam to acquire video images of the driver. Visual features like mouth & eyes which are typically characterizing the drowsiness of the driver are extracted with the help of image processing techniques to detect drowsiness. Here we are applying the bluring algorithm on images ,those are capture from webcam to remove the noise. Then converting the RGB image to HSV image.Where HSV converts the RGB image into black and white image and the blob detection will detect the blob from the images. Final test results demonstrate that the proposed system can efficiently measure the aforementioned parameters and detect the yawning state as a sign of driver’s drowsiness. Read More...

A Review on Welding Failure in Fly Ash Brick Machine
-Faisal Sheikh ; R.N. Dehankar
Welding is a process of joining metals by application of heat with or without application of pressure and addition of filler material. All mechanical structural assemblies have to be joined in some way either by bolting, welding or riveting. Out of the above welding is widely used. Also there is various type of welding i.e. Arc welding, Gas welding, Resistance welds, Energy Beam Welding and Solid State welding. But out of the above Shielded Metal Arc welding is extensively used in fabrication process in industry. In Arc welding the source of heat is electric are. Since welding process relies intensively on localised heat input, it results in generation of undesired residual stress and deformation in welded structures. Since residual stress has a strong influence on welded deformation, fatigue stress, fracture toughness and buckling so many research has been made regarding the effect of process parameters of electric arc on formation of residual stress. This paper aims to study various methods for determining residual stress which are proposed by various research papers. Finite element analysis will be used for finding out residual stress in Arc welding. In this paper an effort is made to review the investigation that have been made to find out the impact of residual stress on fatigue life on various types of welded joint in Arc welding. Read More...

We colossally render that Network fault detection and correction to construct optimal network that is in other word Network deficiency discovery and adjustment to develop ideal system to demonstrated an over a conclusion end -to-end methodology of deriving probabilistic information sending disappointments in the system, where overlay nodes are freely worked by different authoritative areas. Our enhancement objective is to minimize the normal expense of amending (i.e., diagnosing and repairing) all defective overlay nodes that can't legitimately convey information to create ideal system. Rather than first checking the in all likelihood flawed nodes as in copy-cat shortcoming limitation issues, we demonstrate that an ideal methodology ought to begin with checking one of the applicant nodes, which are distinguished in light of a potential capacity that we create. We propose a few proficient heuristics for inducing the best node to be checked in extensive scale systems. We are first checking the hopeful nodes instead of the doubtlessly flawed nodes can diminish the checking expense of remedying every broken node. Read More...
