Graphical Password
-Vaishnavi Sawant ; Siddharth Singh; Alisha Shah; Pratik Prasad
The most common authentication method of computer is to use alphanumerical usernames and passwords. Graphical password provides a promising alternative to alphanumeric passwords. Graphical password is attractive since it become easy for people to remember pictures better than words. In this abstract, we recommend a simple graphical password authentication system. This method has been shown to have significant drawbacks. For example users chooses password that is easy to remember. On the other side if a password is hard to guess, then it is often difficult to remember. To solve this issue, researchers have developed authentication methods that use pictures as password. Transfer of data from one place to another is one of the most important day-to-day activities. The rate of increase in use of mobile communication is very high. The current wireless networks that connect us to the internet are very slow when multiple devices are connected. Different wireless technologies are used for wireless communication such as Li-Fi, WI-Fi and WIMAX. In our research work, a relatively new technology is studied and analyzed i.e. (Li-Fi) light fidelity. The subset of visible light communication LI-FI is 1000 times faster than Wi-Fi and much efficient than WIMAX. Li-Fi is based on “data through illuminationâ€. The VLC modulates the intensity of light from LED array which is detected by photo detector (PD) and then demodulated to produce electronic array. In this research work, the comparison is performed between Li-Fi and existing wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi and WIMAX. It is found that Li-Fi is better than existing wireless technologies in terms of speed, safety, cost, security, bandwidth and applications. Read More...

Overview of Security Risk in Satellite Communication and their Possible Solutions
-Tarun Varma ; Dr. Akhilesh R. Upadhyay
Performance of satellite communication under security risk and its possible solution are presented in this paper. Risk analysis is a four step process that includes; threat assessment, vulnerability assessment, impact assessment, and risk mitigation. The top five risks associated with satellite communications systems can be identified as Meaconing, Intrusion, Jamming, Interference, (MIJI) and physical security. Meaconing is the interception and rebroadcast of signals to confuse communications between organizations. Intrusion in the penetration of the system using processes such as hacking or cracking. Jamming is a technique of preventing RF signals from reaching their destination. Interference caused by the generation of noise or atmospheric conditions makes it difficult to send intelligible message traffic. Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) hardening must considered a high risk item. RF broadcasts directed at the system can damage equipment and disrupt communications. The possible solution are to prevent these security risks are Anti-jamming Communication without Shared Secrets, for these is one solution another is Uncoordinated Spread-Spectrum Techniques, Detection of Reactive Jamming, Error-correcting codes of reliable transmission of information on a noisy channel detecting unknown intrusion using abstract signatures, Diversity Techniques for Broadband Wireless Communications etc.[1][2][3][4]. Data Hiding on Digital Images by Diamond Encoding driven through JPW Masking
-Akhil P V ; Dr Shelbi Joseph; Seetha Parameswaran
This paper proposes a new improved steganographic technique based on pixel value adjustment which is driven by Just Perceptual Weighting (JPW) masking[14]. The cover image is scanned using a spatial frequency and luminance mask (called as JPW masking) and the result is used as the candidate region to perform data hiding using diamond encoding method[15]. The process of embedding partitions the candidate region into non-overlapping blocks of two consecutive pixels and transforms the secret messages to a series of k-ary digits. For each block, the diamond encoding technique is applied to calculate the diamond characteristic value, and one secret k-ary digit is concealed into the diamond characteristic value. The diamond characteristic value is modified to secret digit
and it can be obtained by adjusting pixel values in a block. This scheme is designed in such a way that the distortion of each block after diamond encoding is never out of the embedding parameter k, and the block capacity is equal to log2(2k2 + 2k + 1). In contrast to the existing methods based on LSB, the masking driven approach has lower distortion for various payloads. It is expected that the proposed method provides better performance than the existing techniques and also to be more secure to steganalysis techniques.

-Nidhi Panchal ; Anshi Singh; Dhruv Joshi; Rahul Kaduskar
Electrical discharge machining is an unconventional machining process that uses the concept of controlled spark discharges which increases the temperature of the surface of work-piece and results into the removal of material from work-piece. EDM is used to machine materials which are hard in nature and have very high strength. There is no direct contact between the tool and work-piece, hence there is no mechanical energy involved in this process. There are three main performance characteristics of EDM –Material removal rate, Electrode wear rate and Surface roughness. In this paper we are going to review multiple published research papers which are mainly focused on the Analysis of the Material removal rate of work-piece by optimising different combination of process parameters like peak current, voltage, pulse-on time, interval time, rotating speed of electrode, arc gap and addition of electrically conductive particles in dielectric. Aerodynamics Study of Automobile Car Ahmed Body using CFD Simulation to Predict the Drag Coefficient and Down Forces
-ASHWINI A. LANDGE
The Ahmed body is a simplified car used in automotive industry to investigate the influence of the flow structure on the drag. The external aerodynamics of the car determines many relevant aspects of an automobile such as stability, comfort and fuel consumption at high cruising speeds. The flow around the vehicles is characterized by high turbulent and three dimensional flow separations and there is a growing need for more insight into the physical features of these dynamical flows. The CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis is used to find the parameter in the automobile industry. The air flow over ground vehicle is analyzed and coefficient of drag is calculated using CFD (Ansys Fluent). For this calculation, Ahmed body (simplified car body) as ground vehicle is considered which is commonly used as test case in industry. The Ahmed body is made up of a round front part, a movable slant plane placed in the rear of the body to study the separation phenomena at 25º and 35º angles. Aerodynamic drag is one of the main obstacles to accelerate a solid body when it moves in the air. About 50 to 60% of total fuel energy is lost only to overcome this adverse aerodynamic force. To win a race, which may be decided by fraction of second, the racing cars need a faster acceleration, which is possible by reducing the drag force by optimizing its shape to ensure stream-lining or reducing the separation. By adding vortex generators on the roof and extending the rear body of the car aerodynamically which could reduce the drag of the vehicle by 25% which further improves the fuel efficiency of the vehicle. The amount of grip available in the tires along with aerodynamic drag and engine power set the theoretical limits for the vehicle's velocity around the track, especially in cornering and it is thus of particular interest when designing a vehicle to increase this grip while keeping drag to a minimum. By adding a pair of flaps to a spoiler its aerodynamic downforce can be improved and additional downforce can be generated while cornering and braking by an actuating mechanism which closes the gap between the flaps. Also leading edge slats are also added to delay the separation of the slack side of the spoiler which reduces the aerodynamic drag at high angle of attack. Read More...

MQL: An Emerging Cooling Technique for Cutting Operation
-Mahendra Devangan ; Abhishek Dwivedi; Prof. Praful Ulhe
Micro lubrication or also known as minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) serves as an alternative to flood cooling by reducing the volume of cutting fluid used in the machining process. Minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) has increasingly found its way into the area of metal cutting machining and in many areas, has already been established. The adverse health effects caused by the use of coolants and on another side the potential economic advantages of greener machining methods like MQL are drawing manufacturer’s attention to adapt and develop new methods of using lubricants. The aim of this research is to determine if the minimal quantity lubrication (MQL) technique in turning gives some advantages in terms of work piece surface roughness using work piece material as EN-31 steel and carbide cutting tool material. Fluid selection is important for MQL because it must be a superior fluid such as vegetable oil or synthetic oil. The costs of these superior fluids are higher but eliminate the need for costly fluid recycling and disposal services. We used Taguchi method to plan and conduct experiments to obtain enough optimized and relevant data. It was found that, MQL produced better surface finish as compared to wet machining. The result can significantly reduce cost and environmental pollution. Read More...

-Shalet Xavier ; Steffy Francis; Vidhu Valsan A
To ensure the actual presence of a real legitimate trait in contrast to a fake self-manufactured synthetic or reconstructed image is a significant problem in authentication, which requires the development of new and efficient protection measures. The paper mainly deals with the detection of morphed images. In this digital world we come across many image processing software that produce doctored Images with high sophistication, which are manipulated in such a way that the tampering is not easily visible to naked eye. There is a need for developing techniques to distinguish the original images from the manipulated ones, the genuine ones from the doctored ones. There are number of ways of tampering an Image, such as splicing two different images together, removal of objects from the image, addition of objects in the image, change of appearance of objects in the image or resizing the image. In this paper, we present a software-based fake detection method that can be used in systems to detect different types of fraudulent activities. This Image Morphing detection technique detects traces of digital tampering and implemented using image processing with Demosaicing Algorithms. The objective of the proposed system is to enhance the security of image frameworks, by adding liveness assessment in a fast, user-friendly, and non-intrusive manner, through the use of image quality assessment. And also it helps to differentiate the original and manipulated images and to trace the area morphed. Read More...

Seismic Analysis of Multistorey RCC Buildings using IBC-2012 and IS-1893-2002 Codes
-Mohammad Noor Jan Ahmadi ; Prof. (Dr) C. S. Sanghvi
Earthquake is a very important aspect to be considered while designing structures. Lots of work has been reported by many researchers who have worked to study the effect of structures with irregular plan and shape. In recent years, there has been a significant rise in usages of irregular structures in plan. Irregular buildings constitute a large portion of the modern urban infrastructures. Such irregular structures needs to be taken care by structural engineers especially in a high seismic zones. Unexpected effects can be observed on irregular structures under various load patterns and it causes extra shear, torsion etc. Asymmetry in the plan increases stresses of certain structural elements. Hence it is necessary to choose good building configuration. This paper presents a comparison of the seismic provisions of the two seismic codes, namely IBC-2012 (International building code 2012) and IS-1893-2002 (Indian Standard-Criteria for Earthquake Resistant Design of Structures, Part-1, General Provisions and Buildings). For this study, two plans of G+7 storey reinforced concrete framed buildings have been selected. The first one is a regular in plan which has rectangular-shape and second one is irregular in plan which has T-shape. For analysis, both selected shapes of building are analyzed by STAAD. Pro V8i SS6 software and the analysis is done by Linear Static Method. The aim of this study is to compare provisions of IBC-2012 and IS-1893-2002 codes and study the response of irregular buildings. Conclusions are made on the basis of comparisons of various structural parameters of building. Read More...

Structural Integrity Assessment of Helicopter Rotor Blade
-Hari Krishna Rachuri ; K Shravan Kumar
A helicopter main rotor or rotor system is the combination of several rotary wings (rotor blades) and a control system that generates the aerodynamic lift force that supports the weight of the helicopter, and the thrust that counteracts aerodynamic drag in forward flight. A comprehensive study of the vibration phenomena includes determining the nature and extent of vibration response levels and verifying theoretical models and predictions. The main aim of this project is to extract the normal modes of a Helicopter’s Main Rotor Blade and compare them for different materials such as Aluminum, Steel, Titanium and Composite using the finite element method. As using the modal analysis alone we cannot conclude the better material, static structural analysis is carried out using gravity loads to further give knowledge about the behavior of the blade in different material conditions, and there by evaluating the integrity of the design by this process. A Survey on Different Classification for Method Incomplete Pattern
-Gajanan B. Malekar ; Prof. Gurudev Sawarkar
The classification of incomplete patterns is an exceptionally difficult assignment in light of the fact that the protest (incomplete example) with various conceivable estimations of missing qualities may yield particular classification comes about. The instability (vagueness) of classification is for the most part brought about by the absence of data of the missing information. Another model based credal classification (PCC) strategy is proposed to manage incomplete patterns because of the conviction work structure utilized traditionally as a part of evidential thinking approach. The class models acquired via preparing tests are individually used to gauge the missing qualities. Regularly, in a c-class issue, one needs to manage c models, which yield c estimations of the missing qualities. The diverse altered patterns, in light of all possible conceivable estimation have been grouped by a standard classifier and we can get at most c unmistakable classification comes about for an incomplete example. Since all these unmistakable classification results are conceivably acceptable, we propose to join all of them together to acquire the last classification of the incomplete example. Another credal blend strategy is presented for taking care of the classification issue, and it can portray the inalienable instability because of the conceivable clashing results conveyed by various estimations of the missing qualities. The incomplete patterns that are exceptionally hard to group in a particular class will be sensibly and naturally dedicated to some legitimate meta-classes by PCC strategy with a specific end goal to decrease mistakes. The adequacy of PCC technique has been tried through four investigations with counterfeit and genuine information sets. In this paper, we talk about different incomplete example classification and evidential thinking procedures utilized as a part of the region of information mining. Read More...

An Automated Fault Detection System for PCB Design using Digital Image Processing
-Akash R. Kasturkar ; Dr. S. D. Lokhande
In Electronics industries in order to communicate design information for the manufacturing of various types of PCBs Gerber format file is used. Since the manufacturing of PCBs is costly process so any defect during manufacturing must be avoided, especially with the high complexity level or many of today's boards. A PCBs Defect detection and classification system uses machine vision which is used to find difficulties occurred in manual inspection. It eliminates subjective aspects and gives fast, quantitative and dimensional quality. It is also very crucial to classify the defects in order to examine and identify root causes of the defects. Defects present in PCBs are as short or open circuit, under-etch, mouse-bite and missing hole. This project proposes a PCB defect detection and classification based on imaging morphological algorithm for segmentation and simple image processing theories. Some PCBs defects exists only in certain groups. Hence, it is obvious that to improve image processing algorithm for applying a segmentation exercise. The referential approach has been implemented on defected PCBs images and template in order to detect number of defects present on bare PCB just before the etching process, because etching generally contributes most damages found on PCBs. So, PCB inspection system is then improved by using a geometrical image registration, minimum Thresholding and median filtering in order to solve alignment and uneven illumination problem. Design and Analysis of a Container with Vibration Shock Isolators during Transporting Small Rocket Motors
-M. Uday Kumar ; Y. Lakshmipathi
Rocket motors when transported in a container, there is a definite chance of development of vibrations due to the unevenness of the transportation path selected. This may damage the rocket motor inside. It is required to see that, the rocket components are not affected by vibrations during the transportation. This work attempts to design a suitable container with vibration isolators for absorbing the shock produced. Container is designed to carry 2 rocket motors each weighing 70 kg, made up of composite material, E-glass epoxy, and Isolators (generally made up of different materials) are placed symmetrically below the container. While transportation, the truck (the vehicle carrying container) is assumed to undergo an acceleration of 15 times of gravity, which is to be damped to less than 3 times of gravity, as 3*g is the maximum vibration the container can resist. Mathematical model based on Laplace Transformations is built and solved for checking the shock response with and without Vibration Isolators, for this MATLAB software is used. The 3D model of the container with Rockets is modeled in CATIA and the structural and Dynamic Analysis is performed using OPTISTRUCT of Hyper works. Read More...
