Power Quality Improvement using DVR
-Yogit P Palan ; Vivek D Sangani; Dilip Parmar
The most observable topic in electrical engineering is power quality in present scenario. The occurrence of power quality problem in power network is done by using nonstandard voltage, frequency and current that result in a failure of end use equipment. The distribution network in occurs the major problem is voltage sag and swell. The voltage sag and swell are main parameter on which the improvement is must be needed. Voltage quality can be sufficiently improved in distribution electric power system by using a custom power device such as a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR). The Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) is fast, flexible and efficient solution to mitigate the voltage sag and voltage swell problems. Here simulation for the system has to be carried out using MATLAB software and hence it has to be shown that we can compensate the voltage sag and swell. With the help of simulation result we could confirm using effectiveness of this device in compensating voltage sags and swells to very effective and fast response. Read More...

Design and Fabrication of Semi-Automatic Dish and Utensil Washing Machine
-Er. Shaila S.Hedaoo ; Dr. C. C. Handa; Er. V. D. Dhopte
Washing dishes is most commonly done activity in the world, in most of families people wash dishes by hand which is straining to muscles and detergent is chemically harmful. As far as manual process is concerned in houses of India, washing is done by hand scrubbing which is straining to the muscles through its energy and postural requirements. It may also lead to clinical, anatomical disorders and back pain which may affect the operator‘s health. Many of their household chores are performed by the women and some can be very physically challenging and timeâ€consuming. So in several ways in which we can improve their lifestyle, and one aspect that we can improve on is the way they wash their dishes. Currently the chore of washing dishes is performed by the women, and can be very labor intensive as it is done for up to several hours each week. The same can be experienced in marriage ceremony with caterers. In today‘s world of Automation Era it is barely possible to find any field that implemented atomization which reduces Human effort, improves Production rate and also increases Efficiency. Then it could be the biggest manufacturing industry, Pharmaceutical industry, Hospitality field and even Household or Kitchen automation. Washing dishes is not the most rewarding task. Cooking can be creative, but cleaning up afterward seems like a waste of time and leaves the person washing complaining about "dishpan hands." But Automatic dishwasher uses large amount of energy, time and is costly. And being costly, the usage of automatic dishwasher in our country is very less. By using semi-automatic dishwasher, we can reduce time as well as human efforts significantly. Also by using Galvanized iron material for inner & outer part, the overall weight of the assembly is also reduced. The capacity of machine is to wash 24 pieces of dinner set at a time by using two rotary jet controlled by single pump using parallel connection. Read More...

Effects of Artificial Roughness on Solar Duct: A Review
-Vijay Kumar ; Vijay Kumar; Prof. Anil Kumar Rao ; Prof. Vinay Yadav
As the Solar effects regulate to constant work at a rapid pace, it starts to generate heat. If this heat is not kept in evaluation, the space could excess heat and eventually turbulate itself. Fortunately, a cooling space include a solar duct, which dissipates the heat from the space, preventing it from excess heating with the increase in heat dissipation from space and the reduction in overall form factors, thermal management becomes a more and more important element of solar duct product design. Providing an artificial roughness on a heat transferring surface is an effective passive heat transfer technique to enhance the rate of heat transfer to fluid flow. In this paper, reviews of various artificial roughness elements used as conjugate and convective heat transfer techniques, in order to optimized a performance of thermo hydraulic performance of a solar air heater, is done. The aim of this paper is to survey of literature various studies, in which variable artificial roughness elements are used to enhance the heat transfer rate with little effect of friction. A relation developed by various researchers and research scholars with the help of experimental results and simulation results for heat transfer and friction factor for solar air heater ducts by taking various roughened surfaces profiles are given in table form. These relations are used to analyze the thermo hydraulic performance of solar air heaters having roughened ducts. The objective is to view a detailed review on heat transfer enhancement by using an artificial roughness technique. This paper will be very helpful for the research scholars who are predicting effect of new artificial roughness for solar air heater ducts to enhance the heat transfer rate and comparing with artificial roughness already studied by various researchers. Android App for Mobile Agriculture Services
-Kuldeep Runwal ; PrithviRaj Y. J
Agriculture plays a pivotal role to increase the Indian economy. Although India is the second largest irrigated country in the world after China, only one-third of the cropped area is under irrigation. Therefore Irrigation is the most important agricultural input in a tropical monsoon country like India where rainfall is uncertain, unreliable and erratic India cannot achieve sustained progress in agriculture unless and until more than half of the cropped area is brought under assured irrigation and its contribution to gross domestic product (GDP) is now around one sixth, it provides employment to 56 per cent of the Indian workforce. Also, the forward and backward linkage effects of agriculture growth increase the incomes in the non-agriculture sector. The growth of some commercial crops has significant potential for promoting exports of agricultural commodities and bringing about faster development of agro-based industries. The purpose of this project entitled as “Android App for mobile agriculture services†is to solve the problems of millions of small farmers which are arrows in their day to day life. Read More...

A Reliability-based Routing Protocol for Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network
-Miss. Monika R. Mangave ; Prof. Mrs. P. P. Belagali
Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) are a special form of wireless networks which is formed by vehicles which are communicating among themselves on roads. The conventional routing protocols proposed for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are not suitable for VANETS they work poorly in VANETs. As communication links break more frequently in VANETs than in MANETs, the routing reliability of such highly dynamic networks needs to be pay special attention. A very little research has focused on the routing reliability of VANETs on highways. In this paper, we use the evolving graph theory to model the VANET communication graph on a highway. This paper is to propose an evolving graph-based reliable routing scheme for VANETs to provide quality-of-service (QoS) which support in the routing process. Read More...

A Narrative Study in Ramsey Graph Theory using Rank Coloring
-R. Angayarkanni
Now a day’s Graph Ramsey Theory has grown to one of the most familiar active areas. A major impetus behind the early development of Graph Ramsey Theory was the hope that it would eventually lead to methods for determining larger values of the classical Ramsey number R (m ,n).In fact, it is probably safe to say that the results arising from Graph Ramsey Theory will prove to be more valuable and interesting than knowing the exact values of R(m ,n).This paper deals with the construction of extremal graphs. it is divided into three major areas: i) Ramsey numbers with Turan’s theorem ii) Rank coloring with graph. First once called Ramsey numbers. For the classical Ramsey numbers. G is taken to be a complete graph. We begin by giving Ramsey theorem which gives a recurrence relation for r(k,1), k>=2 and 1>=2.The existence of r (k1,k2…….km) is guaranteed by Ramsey’s original theorem. Ramsey theorem yields an upper bound for r(k,1). Erdos’s theorem (1947) yields a lower bound for r(k,k).it deals with Turan’s theorem and some of its consequences. Turan’s theorem gives upper bounds for the number of edges of graphs with certain specified properties. The study of Ramsey has become important since cubic graphs play a vital role in several situations in graph theory, as for instance, in the four color problem. Finally called Rank coloring graph, A ranking of a graph is a coloring of the vertex set with positive integers such that on every path connecting two vertices of the same color there is a vertex of larger color. We show that the ranking number of a directed graph is bounded by that of its longest directed path plus one, and that it can be computed in polynomial time. Read More...

Shock and Response Spectrum Analysis of Automobile Rear Axle Housing
-Vikas R ; Raviprakash M
Rear axle housing is an important element to house differential mechanism with body loads transferred through support brackets. These members are subjected to various loads during its operation. So a check is required to maintain safety of the problem. In the present work, a rear axle housing is checked for structural safety under leak testing pressures. Initially the structure is built using a three dimensional software based on the autocad representation of the problem. Hypermesh is used for noble excellence meshing. Then it is imported to Ansys for analysis. Initially analysis is carried out to find the optimum constraint to minimize the distortion in the member due to internal leak testing pressures. Initial constraint provided on the top and bottom results, shows failure for safety. Further with the dome region constraint the analysis shows safety for distortion as the deflection developed is less than the allowable deflection. Further the analysis is carried out for the spectrum loads for road vibration based on the mil standards. The spectrum data is given as input which combines the results of modal frequencies for amplified displacements. The results shows safety of the housing for the given loads. Further a transient analysis is carried out for the given load history data based on mil standards. A triangular pulse data is considered as the transient vibration data. The results shows safety of the housing for the given loads. Altogether the results are interpreted with essential graphical plots. Read More...

Cement Industries, Their Effect on Environment & Management
-Prateek Jain ; Dr. Y. P. Joshi
World’s most seriously problem is global warming and environment pollution, many reasons are responsible for environment pollution & global warming. Cement industry is one of the major part of this, cement industry contributes 7% of total emmision of CO2 in atmoshphere which is major reason of global warming and environment pollution. Cement is the primary binding material used in various construction work like dam, building, bridges, canal, tunnel and many other. It has the binding property which bind aggregates and sand together to form hard and rigid structure. It reacts with water and gets harden property. But it has some drawbacks like:
ï€ cement manufacturing emitts lots of CO2 gas which is harmful for environment.
ï€ Cement manufacturing process depends on fossil fuels burning which is natural minerals and is limited and also pollute environment by burning itself.
ï€ If there are any alternate to cement by waste products then cement is expensive then other for any project.
Cement manufacturing industry is one of the carbon dioxide emitting sources besides deforestation and burning of fossil fuels. The global warming is caused by the emission of green house gases, such as CO2, to the atmosphere. Among the greenhouse gases, CO2 contributes about 65% of global warming. The global cement industry contributes about 7 % of greenhouse gas emission to the earth’s atmosphere. In order to address environmental effects associated with cement manufacturing, there is a need to develop alternative binders to make concrete. Consequently extensive research is on going into the use of cement replacements, using many waste materials and industrial by products. The cost of cement used in concrete works is on the increase and unaffordable, yet the need for housing and other constructions requiring this material keeps growing with increasing population, thus the need to find alternative binding materials that can be used in partial replacement of cement. There are several industrial and agriculture waste product which can be used as pozzolanas or in place of cement like flyash, coconut shell ash which is also economical or sometimes more durable and as well as more strengthing material. The main objective of this study is to determine the alternate of cement in more percentage and reduce cement production in respected ratio to protect environment against global warming and air pollution by CO2 emission.

Experimental and Numerical Analysis of Cylindrical Pin Fins having V-Thread with and without Perforations by Natural and Forced Convection
-Basavaraj Olekar ; Ganesha T
Currently heat exchangers are used in almost all industrial fields. The heat exchanger design greatly affects the design of the entire system or process in which they are applied. Various factors influence the design of heat exchanger, major things are heat transfer rate, pumping power needs to run the heat exchanger and also heat exchanger size, weight, and production cost. The conduction losses are minimized by using higher thermal conductivity materials, radiation losses are less concern for heat exchangers operating under moderate temperature. Whereas the intensity of heat transfer by convection is the dominant challenge particularly on the gas side for the design of heat exchangers. From Newton’s law of cooling heat transfer rate mainly depends on Surface area and heat transfer co-efficient. Heat transfer co-efficient can’t be changed but it can changed due increasing surface area by altering original shape such as pin fins. The main aim of this study is to find out the most effective pin fin from V-threaded pin fins having with and without perforations in inline and staggered arrangement. Trials were conducted for varying Reynolds number and results were found out respectively for each pin fins. Read More...

A Review On Experimental Investigation of Natural Convective Heat Transfer in Various Types of Winglets
-Ashish Madhukar Kamble ; S.R.Patil
Convective heat transfer, or convection, is the transfer of heat from one place to another by the displace of fluids, a process that is essentially the transfer of heat via mass transfer. Bulk motion of fluid enhances heat transfer in many physical situations, such as (for example) between a solid surface and the fluid. Convection is usually the dominant form of heat transfer in liquids and gases. Although sometimes discussed as a third method of heat transfer, convection is usually used to describe the combined effects of heat conduction within the fluid (diffusion) and heat transference by bulk fluid flow streaming. Natural or free convection is observed as a result of the motion of the fluid due to density changes arising from the heating and cooling process. Natural convection represents an inherently reliable cooling process. Further, this mode of heat transfer is often designed as a back up in the event of the failure of forced convection due to fan break down. Read More...

Wavelets and Wavelet Transform with Different Application
-Indra Kumar Gupta
This paper proposes a spatially adaptive statistical model for wavelet image coefficients in order to perform image de-noising. The wavelet coefficients are modeled as zero-mean Gaussian random variables with high local correlation. This model is developed in a Bayesian framework, where a Maximum Likelihood (ML) estimator evaluates the variance of the blocks to which the wavelet subbands have been segmented. Then, applying the Minimum Mean Squared Error (MMSE) estimation procedure, the original or de-noised wavelet image coefficients are estimated. The reliable estimation of local variance is performed by making the assumption that variance is locally smooth. The validity of this assumption is boosted by segmenting the wavelet subbands into blocks of variable size. The segmentation employs quad-tree decomposition of the image and a linear transfer of the resulted tree on the wavelet subbands. This decomposition identifies object boundaries and defines more accurately the regions of smooth variance instead of dividing them in to blocks of fixed size. The extensive experimental evaluation, shows that the proposed scheme demonstrates very good performance as far as PSNR measures and visual quality are concerned with respect to others state of the art de-noising schemes. The object detection is the procedure to evaluate the position of the objects in the given image data by analyzing the template data against the input image. The vehicular object detection involves the feature discovery and location marking in the given image matrix. The fore process may involve the object classification for the determination of the category of the evaluated object in the image matrix. The object classification model is considered as the primary process for the object category determination and discovery. In this paper, the supervised appearance similarity model has been utilized as the template matching scheme for the evaluation object appearance in the input image data. The template matching scheme evaluates the location of all of the discovered objects in the input matrix, which are marked using the blue boxes for the visualization. The deep neural network (DNN) classification model has been utilized for the purpose of category evaluation of the detected objects. The feature minimization in the proposed model has been also achieved using the non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) for the realization of the quick response vehicular detection and classification system. The neural network classification model also utilizes the training data for the vehicular class evaluation. The various performance parameters have been obtained from the proposed model results after the deep evaluation. The experimental results have proved the higher efficiency of the proposed model in comparison with the existing models. A Survey Paper on Efficient FP-growth Tree for Large Data Set
-Asha Patel
FP-growth method is a efficient algorithm to mine frequent patterns, in spite of long or short frequent patterns. If we use compact tree structure, divide-and-conquer searching method and partitioning-based, it reduces the searching costs gradually. But just as the analysis in Algorithm, in the process of FP-tree construction, it is a strict serial computing process. That is, the algorithm performance is related to the database size, the sum of frequent patterns in the database: ω. this is a serious bottleneck. Some People may think multi-CPU multi-CPU or using distributed parallel computation technique to solve this type of problem. But these methods apparently increase the costs for exchanging and combining control information, and the algorithm complexity is also greatly increased, that cannot solve this problem efficiently. Even if we adopt multi-CPU technique, that raising the requirement of hardware, the performance improvement is still limited. Read More...

Lifi- Internet at the Speed of Light
-Swapna Johnny ; Ann Sara Sajee; Sheryl Saji
Li-Fi or Light Fidelity refers to Visual light communication systems using light-emitting diodes for medium to high-speed communication in a similar manner as Wi-Fi. Li-Fi is the result of the research of a germen physicist Harald Hass which he calls “data through illumination.†He envisions ‘data from the laptops, smart phones and tablets to be transmitted through the light in the room‘. Wi-Fi makes up to 60% of the total internet traffic and Li-Fi is a better alternative to Wi-Fi in wireless communication. This paper proposes a survey on Li-Fi Technology. Li-Fi has data rate of 100 megabytes per second which is faster than your average broadband connection [9]. It provides security as the visible light is unable to penetrate through the walls which is a major issue with Wi-Fi as it uses radio waves for transmission .The concept of Li-Fi is data communication on fast flickering of light which is not detected by human eye but it is focused on photo detector which converts the on-off state into binary digital data. It has gained a huge popularity in two years of its invention. Such technology has brought not only greener but safer and cheaper future of communication which is the need of the hour. Read More...
