Mechanical Properties of Bacterial Concrete Using Fly Ash as Partial Replacement
-B Sandeepkumar Reddy ; Mohammed Safiuddin
The concrete structures deteriorate in contact with the surroundings which lead to an irreversible damage and ultimately reducing the strength of the structure. The characteristics of pore structure of concrete have a direct influence on its durability. One way to circumvent costly manual maintenance and repair is to incorporate an autonomous self -healing mechanism in concrete. One such alternative repair mechanism, i.e. a novel technique based on the application of bio mineralization of bacteria in concrete. The present experimental investigation is carried out to study the mechanical properties of concrete by using of bacillus odeysseyi which would make it, self-healing. The bacteria present in the concrete rapidly sealed freshly formed cracks through calcite production. The bacterial concentrations were optimized to 105cells/ml. The percentage replacement of fly ash was by weight of cement. The percentage use of fly ash was 10%, 20% with bacteria was used. The experiments were carried out to evaluate the effect of Bacillus odysseysi on the compressive strength, Tensile strength test and Flexural test for 7, 14, 28 days. The test results indicated that inclusion of bacillus odeysseyi enhanced the compressive strength (i.e., 49.85 N/mm2) for 10% fly ash replacement, reduced the porosity and permeability of the concrete with fly ash. This study implicates the structural physiognomies of the composite sections. An analytical and theoretical study relating to ultimate load behaviour of the circular double skin composite column fully filled with concrete is presented. The results have been analysed using ANSYS 17.2 software. Analytical results and theoretical results have been related and presented in this paper. Areas of supplementary exploration are presented in this paper. Composite sections are fetching progressively prevalent in construction. Coupling the strength of two diverse materials to form a composite section can be valuable in terms of both structural routine and price tag. A case in point of a far and wide used composite section in construction is composite column, this form of construction has turn out to be very widespread in modern years, where steel beam and concrete column act compositely to battle load. There has also been a current flow in acceptance of composite columns. Experimental compression tests on steel tubular columns filled with plain concrete & fibre reinforced concrete are carried out for two different grade of concrete (M20, M25). Lately, composite columns are finding a lot of tradition for seismic confrontation. In command to avert shear failure of RC column bring about in storey collapse of building, it is obligatory to make ductility of columns superior. Lately, most of building exploits this Concrete Filled Steel tubes (CFST) notion as chief for lateral load battling frames. The concrete cast-off for wrapping the structural steel section not only augments its strength & stiffness, but also shields it from fire reimbursements. Read More...

Parameter optimization of friction stir welding for AA5052 and AA6061
-Rajbinder ; Vijayesh Rathi; Kuldeep Singh
Friction Stir Welding process is widely being used for joining aluminium alloys for aerospace, marine, automotive and many other applications of commercial importance. In this study, the experiments have been conducted on vertical milling machine (model 3KS) on AA 5052 and AA 6061. The tool used for FSW process is of cylindrical shape of H13 high speed steel (HSS) material. From the experiment work it is concluded that the process parameters tool pin profile (cylindrical), rotational speed (1200 rpm) and welding speed (55, 34 and 22 mm/min) which are taken into consideration affects the mechanical properties of the welding joint. In this study there are two output variables are calculated which are Rockwell hardness, tensile strength. Friction Stir welding (FSW) is a fairly recent technique that utilizes a non-consumable rotating welding tool to generate frictional heat and plastic deformation at the welding location, thereby affecting the formation of a joint while the material is in the solid state. The principal advantages of FSW, being a solid-state process, are low distortion, absence of melt-related defects and high joint strength, even in those alloys that are considered non-weld able by conventional techniques. The result for the tensile strength shows that there is a significant amount of effect of tool rotational speed on the welded joint and their mechanical properties. The high tool rotation speed results in improved tensile strength of the welded joint. Read More...

Partial Replacement of Saw Dust Ash and Coal Dust by Fine Aggregates in Concrete
-Rahul Verma ; Rahul Verma; Prof. Rekha Shinde; Mohd. Yakub
The aggregates and cement were replaced by the mixture of saw dust ash (5-12%) and coal dust (5-12%) respectively. The saw dust ash was used earlier for replacing the mixture of cement by maximum 25%. But in this project we are replacing the aggregate with saw dust ash and coal. Here as the surface area of the aggregate increases, the water demands increases and the strength of the concrete decreases. But the saw dust ash has less area as compared to that much volume of coal so it may increases the strength with the help of coal and cement. Our aim is to reduce the cost of construction attaining the strength by replacing the saw dust ash and coal dust by construction material. And after this we would find out the areas where the concrete (contain the saw dust ash and coal dust) can be used economically. Read More...

Lifetime Optimization And Security In Wireless Sensor Network Using Cost-Aware Secure Routing Protocol (CASER)
-TAMBE VIJAYSHREE CHANDRAKANT ; Mr.C.M.Jadhav
The Wireless sensor network is a self-organized wireless network system constituted by numbers of energy-limited micro sensors under the banner of industrial application (IA). In this project, a secure and efficient cost aware securer routing protocol to address two conflicting issues: they are lifetime optimization and security. Through the energy balance control and random walking the conflicting issues are addressed. Then discover the energy consumption, is several disproportional to the uniform energy deployment for the given network topology, which greatly reduces the lifetime of the sensor networks. To solve this problem an efficient non-uniform energy deployment strategy is used to optimize the lifetime and message delivery ratio under the same energy resource and security requirement. It is also to provide a quantitative security analysis on the proposed routing protocol. We also demonstrate that the proposed CASER protocol can achieve a high message delivery ratio while preventing routing traceback attacks. Read More...

Validation of Ultimate load capacity of Hybrid Double Skin Composite Columns (HDSCs) using nastran
-YUNUS ; Narayana B R (Assistant Professor); Dr N S Kumar (Professor and Director(R&D))
Concrete-filled-steel-tube columns have been adopted commonly for column production of tall buildings due to its exceptional confining outcome. However, the central part of concrete in CFST columns have relatively small involvement towards bending and torsion resistance, which can be efficiently replaced by another empty steel tube with much smaller area without reducing the load carrying capacity due to compound action. In the present work an analysis is made to study the effect of thickness, diameter of steel tube, grade of concrete and volume added to the steel tubes on the performance of CFST under axial compression using software package NASTRAN the result shows that concrete packed steel tubes exhibited significant improvement as the (slenderness ratio) l/d ratio of the columns goes on enhancing then ultimate load of the columns goes on declining in concrete in filled steel tube columns. A systematic investigation of behaviour of concrete filled Steel tubes column and a theoretical design method according to en 1994-1-1 euro-4 are presented. The investigation has been carried out for and circular CFST double skin composite columns beneath axial compression. The analytical model is urbanized to forecast the capacity of CFST accounting for contact between steel and concrete. The results obtained by theoretical computation are validated using NASTRAN Multi physics utility tool. The results are demonstrated by load carrying capacity table. Read More...

-Bellamkonda Sravan Kumar ; R Md Waseem Ahammed
The tanks occupy vital role in the irrigation as well as local ecosystem in the semi-arid and regions of South India. Meanwhile, tank provides multiple uses like source of drinking water for uncountable rural and urban communities and livestock, fish culture, recharge of ground water, control of floods etc. However, after the independence of india the significant source of tank irrigation has drastically decreased due to several socio-economic and institutional factors, particularly the changes in land ownership pattern, caste, class configuration and importance given to canal systems and over exploitation of ground water. At the same time today there is alarm that these valuable and extensive resources are in a state of collapse, contributing to increased drought vulnerability in some of the poorest districts in the country. The main motivation of this thesis is to examine the RESTORATION OF TANKS in South India particularly in case of Telangana state i.e., MISSION KAKATHIYA. The case study also makes an effort to recommend policy guideline measures to revive tank irrigation in telengana. Improved Performance on Wireless Sensor Network Using Fuzzy Clustering Algorithms
-G. Sudha ; N. Hyrunnisha
Clustering in wireless sensor network faces several challenges such as selection of an optimal group of sensor nodes as cluster, optimum selection of cluster head, energy balanced optimal strategy for rotating the role of cluster head in a cluster, maintaining intra and inter cluster connectivity and optimal data routing in the network. In this paper, we study a protocol supporting an energy efficient clustering, cluster head selection and data routing method to prolong the lifetime of sensor network. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed protocol prolongs network lifetime due to the use of efficient clustering, cluster head selection and data routing. The results of simulation show that at the end of some certain part of running the EECS and Fuzzy based clustering algorithm increases the number of alive nodes comparing with the LEACH and HEED methods and this can lead to an increase in sensor network lifetime. By using the EECS method the total number of messages received at base station is increased when compared with LEACH and HEED methods. The Fuzzy based clustering method compared with the K-Means Clustering by means of iteration count and time taken to die first node in wireless sensor network, as the result shows that the fuzzy based clustering method perform well than kmeans clustering methods. Fatigue Analysis of a Leaf Spring used in Mini Truck for Optimum Load Conditions
-K V Raghavulu ; U. Sudhakar
The leaf spring can be made from several leaves stacked on top of each other in several layers, often with progressively shorter leaves. Leaf springs can serve locating and to some extent damping as well as springing functions. There are mono leaf springs, or single-leaf springs, that consist of simply one plate of spring steel. These are usually thick in the middle and taper out toward the end, and they don't typically offer too much strength and suspension for towed vehicles. Drivers looking to tow heavier loads typically use multileaf springs, which consist of several leaf springs of varying length stacked on top of each other. Springs will fail from fatigue caused by the repeated flexing of the spring. We are also considering these cases also. (1) Modeling of Road Irregularity. (2) The life and safety of the vehicle on road. Presently used material for leaf spring is forged steel. In this project we are going to design leaf spring for the material composite material carbon. We are going to check the strength variations while changing reinforcement angle and layers. Structural Analysis is done on the leaf spring by using three different material carbon epoxy. Fatigue analysis is to find life and safety factor. Read More...

-A. Kalaiyarasan ; C. Srinivasan; R. Ramesh; S. Sasidharan; S. Palanisamy
Fossil fuels are the main source of energy that can be extracted to other mechanical energies in less complicated format. Automobiles as well as industries utilize this energy transformation process for getting required energy. Internal combustion engines were developed with the aim that maximum energy must be used while certain fixed quantity of fuel is combusted. Compact design of engines helped to have efficiency above sixty percentages. But there had been waste products, when the fossil fuels are burnt. These were not eco-friendly. During first half of 20th century, there witnessed non eco-friendly gas amount at marginable limit. This resulted to have restriction of emission of certain gases into atmosphere. This project work is focused on oxidation of soot particles that may present in the diesel engine exhaust gas. Mostly soot particles are developed due to incomplete combustion of fuel. Several techniques introduced to control emission: Exhaust Gas Recirculation, Selective Catalytic Reduction etc. for further reduction of pollutants. But individual Technique has some range of temperature & pressure to give their best performance. Soot Particles are one among the component in Particulate Matter. They can be burnt into CO2 with additional energy. Read More...

Scrutinizing Well Known Counter Measures of Anomaly Detection in Intrusion Detection System
-C. Renuga ; D. Gomathi
This project contemplates the difficult of efficient on-line anomaly recognition in computer network traffic. The problem is move toward statistically, as that of consecutive (quickest) change point detection. A multi-cyclic setting of rapidest change detection is a usual fit for this problem. It recommends a novel score-based multi-cyclic discovery algorithm. The procedure is grounded on the so-called Shiryaev–Roberts procedure. This technique is as easy to employ in preparation and as computationally economical as the widespread Cumulative Sum chart and the Exponentially Weighted Moving Average arrangement. The likelihood ratio based Shiryaev–Roberts procedure has interesting optimality properties; predominantly it is precisely optimum in a multi-cyclic setting geared to perceive a change occurring at a far time horizon. It is therefore predictable that an intrusion detection algorithm based on the Shiryaev–Roberts technique will perform better than other recognition schemes. This is confirmed experimentally for real suggestions. We also discuss the opportunity of accompanying our anomaly detection algorithm with a spectral-signature intrusion detection system with false apprehension filtering and true occurrence confirmation capability, so as to obtain a synergistic organization. An Improved Fused Floating Point Three Term Adder
-Jeevan Jyoti
Floating Point addition and subtraction units are widely used in various digital and signal processing applications. A traditional Floating Point Three Term Adder performs two additions using discreet units. To perform two additions in a single unit, architecture must be fused so that two adder units work as a single unit. In fused floating point adder, several optimization techniques are applied in order to further enhance the results like exponent compare and alignment unit, dual reduction, leading zero anticipator etc. In the proposed approach, fused floating point adder is implemented with each of the units and optimization techniques working in parallel, so as to reduce the delay in computation. Besides the pipelined approach, Carry Select Adder which is the fastest adder in the literature and is a combination of two ripple carry adders is used in the addition for the further enhancement in timing performance of the unit. Results also show that the timing is improved by reasonable value with the combined implementation of carry select adder and pipelined approach. Read More...

An Analysis on Solar Trackers a Potential Need for Future Solar Power Growth in India
-Abhijit Kumar Bhagat
The 2016 World Cities Report released by the economic and social affairs department of the United Nations states that the number of mega cities in India will go eight fold more from the current five by 2030. Delhi will continue to be the world's second most populous city adding 9.6 million people to its population. Currently, India has five mega cities with a population of over 10 million people. According to the report, the number of mega cities will go up to 41 with a population of 730 million people - 8.7 per cent of the world's population - by 2030. India, home to 18% of the world’s population, uses only 6% of the world’s primary energy. India’s energy consumption has almost doubled since 2000 and the potential for further rapid growth is enormous. India is set to contribute more than any other country to the projected rise in global energy demand, around one-quarter of the total. India’s power system needs to almost quadruple in size by 2040 to catch up and keep pace with electricity demand that – boosted by rising incomes and new connections to the grid – increases at almost 5% per year. An innovative and technological adaption for effective use of renewable energy sources while optimally tapping the available natural resources is one of the important factors for the environment as well as for sustainable business. This can be achieved by using proper solar tracking system; the generation will be improved roughly by 20% to 40% with incremental value of capital project cost. The aim of this paper is to suggest the maximum use of the solar energy through solar trackers for optimum generation and mainly focused on need for solar tracking system, major types and benefits associated with trackers in solar PV project. -Arvind Waghmode ; Mr. Rahul Joshi
Internal combustion engine is a major source of noise pollution. These engines are used for various purposes such as, in power plants, automobiles, locomotives, and in various manufacturing machineries. Noise pollution created by engines becomes a vital concern when used in residential areas or areas where noise creates hazard. Generally, noise level of more than 80 dB is injurious for human being. The main sources of noise in an engine are the exhaust noise and the noise produced due to friction of various parts of the engine. The exhaust noise is the most dominant. To reduce this noise, various kinds of mufflers are usually used. The level of exhaust noise Reduction depends upon the construction and the working procedure of mufflers. The objective of the present study is to investigate acoustic behavior of reactive muffler by FEM and BEM. Validation of the standard procedure for the use of SYSNOISE software. First, the acoustic performance of simple and concentric resonator chamber is explored with FEA. Computational results obtained are compared with the experimental results available in the literature. Once these result shows good agreement with each other than this finite element analysis procedure can be used for performance analysis of muffler with perforated tubes and baffles. Read More...

Determination of Surface Area and Volume of Egg
-Mr. V. Shanmugasundaram
In this paper, an accurate image processing algorithm for determination of volume and surface area of egg is developed. The proposed machine vision system consists of two CCTV cameras, an appropriate heavy light system and a computer. The cameras are placed at right angle to each other in order to give two perpendicular views of the image of the egg. Initially, the algorithm segments the background and divides the image into a number of frustums of right elliptical cone. The volume and surface area of each frustum are then computed by the segmentation method. The total volume and surface area of the egg is approximated as the sum of all elementary frustums. The difference between the computed volumes and surface areas obtained by the image processing method and measured by water displacement and tape method, orderly, are not statistically significant at the 5% level. The Bland-Altman results show that the egg size has no effect on the accuracy of estimated volume and surface area found by the image processing technique. The regression formula, M=0.62VIP+39, between the computed volume and the measured mass of eggs is found to be highly correlated with R2=0.95. Read More...

A Review on FIUT Based Parallel Mining in Mapreduce
-Parvathi S J ; Asha Rani M
Existing parallel mining calculations for frequent itemsets do not have a component that enables programmed parallelization, stack adjusting, information circulation, and adaptation to internal failure on large groups. As an answer for this issue, we plan a standard allel visit itemsets mining calculation called FiDoop using the MapReduce programming model. To accomplish packed capacity and abstain from building contingent example bases, FiDoop consolidates the successive things ultrametric tree, rather than conventional FP trees. In FiDoop, three MapReduce occupations are actualized to finish the mining errand. In the essential third MapReduce work, the mappers autonomously disintegrate itemsets, the reducers perform blend operations by constructing small ultrametric trees, and the real mining of these trees separately. We execute FiDoop on our in-house Hadoop cluster. We demonstrate that FiDoop on the bunch is touchy to information distribution and measurements, in light of the fact that itemsets with various lengths have diverse disintegration and development costs. To improve FiDoop's execution, we build up a workload adjust metric to quantify stack adjust over the bunch's figuring hubs. We create FiDoop-HD, an augmentation of FiDoop, to accelerate the mining execution for high-dimensional information examination. Extensive experiments utilizing genuine heavenly ghostly information demonstrate that our proposed arrangement is capable and adaptable. Read More...
