Effect of Bacteria on the Properties of Fly Ash Concrete
-Umesh Adhikrao Dhotre ; Chandrahas Bhimrao Patil; Mosin Sherekhuda Shikalgar
Today the application of concrete is rapidly increasing worldwide; it is already the most used manmade material in the world as it is relatively cheap and its basic ingredients (sand/ gravel/ water) are readily available. However, the development of a sustainable concrete is urgently needed for environmental reasons. It is clear that cement, the key binder ingredient in concrete has a high environmental impact. Presently about 10% of the total anthropogenic CO2 is due to the cement production solely. Today innovation is leadingly being inspired by nature as a sustainable alternative. Hence, taking notes from biotechnology, investigation is being conducted to create concrete the way nature does with microorganisms. The objective here is to study the application of bacterial species i.e. Bacillus Pasteuri to improve the strength of fly ash concrete. The dormant but viable bacteria in the concrete matrix will contribute to the strength of the concrete. Water which enters the concrete will activate the dormant bacteria which in turn will give strength to the concrete through the process of metabolically mediated calcium carbonate precipitation. The spore forming Bacillus Pasteuri may be able to survive in this artificial environment and increase the strength and durability of cement concrete. We found that incorporation of this bacteria will not negatively affect the compressive and split tensile strength of the cement concrete instead induce the precipitation of calcite. Microbial Induced Calcite Precipitation is highly desirable because the calcite precipitation induced as a result of microbial activities, is pollution free and natural. Microbial calcite precipitation was visualized by Scanning Electron Microscope. The unique imaging and microanalysis capabilities of SEM established the presence of calcite precipitation inside cracks, bacterial impressions and a new calcite layer on the surface of concrete. Database Query Optimization in Crowdsourcing System
-Pariyarath Jesnaraj Rajan ; Dr. K. V. Metre
Data is placed at different web or data servers in a crowdsourcing system. It is difficult to answer queries by machine. Processing such queries requires human input for providing information that is missing from the database, for performing computationally difficult functions, and for matching, ranking, or aggregating. In crowdsourcing system optimization of query is the major challenge. In proposed system, the user submits SQL query which is optimized based on cost constraints. An execution plan is generated and output is produced to the user. This system can be used for answering queries posed over stored relational data together with data obtained on demand from the crowd. This system considers a cost-based query optimization which also considers the latency that generates best possible and suitable query execution plan. The proposed system uses efficient algorithms for optimizing three types of query evaluation i.e. select, join, and complex-join query. Read More...

the development of multimedia system technology in Content based Image Retrieval (CBIR) System is one in every of the outstanding area to retrieve the images from an oversized collection of database. The feature vectors of the query image are compared with feature vectors of the database images to get matching images. It is much observed that anyone algorithm isn't beneficial in extracting all differing kinds of natural images. Thus an intensive analysis of certain color, texture and shape extraction techniques are allotted to spot an efficient CBIR technique that suits for a selected sort of images. The Extraction of an image includes feature description and feature extraction. During this paper, we tend to projected Color Layout Descriptor (CLD), grey Level Co-Occurrences Matrix (GLCM), Marker-Controlled Watershed Segmentation feature extraction technique that extract the matching image based on the similarity of Color, Texture and shape within the database. For performance analysis, the image retrieval timing results of the projected technique is calculated and compared with every of the individual feature. Read More...

Alumina Based Ceramics: Microwave Fabrication and Properties Development
-Tarun Bhatnagar ; Rahul Lodha
The enhancement of sintering rates and other solid state reactions during microwave heating on a variety of ceramics have been reported in literatures. These empirical observations of microwave enhancement have been broadly called the “microwave effectâ€. However, there has been little published work which directly compares the compositional dependence and green sample fabrication on the properties developed by microwave effect on alumina ceramics. Therefore, this research proposal designs to conduct a series of experimental to investigate the effects of the compositional dependence and green sample fabrication on the properties developed by microwave effect on alumina ceramics by using 2.45 GHz microwave power. And to study the effects of green samples, biaxial pressed alumina samples are to be prepared by pressing at different pressures. It is known that the mechanisms responsible for the decrement in sintering may attribute to decrease in microwave effect or different the transport path, such as volume diffusion mechanism, instead of mainly grain boundary diffusion, which is usually reported in microwave sintering. This leads to requirement for further development such that microwaves preferred heating grain boundary areas are directed to heating within the grains. Read More...

Reduction In Electricity Consumption by Applying Solar Electric System or Photovolatic (PV) System at Residential Apartment
-Mrs. Komal Rahul Pardeshi ; Mrs. Kanchan A. Khedikar
Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. For engineers, sustainable development is the design of man-made systems to ensure the current uses of natural resources without affecting the quality of life of future generations. One of the natural resource that we can use is Sun which gives us solar energy. Solar energy can be converted into solar power. Solar power is produced by collecting sunlight and converting it into electricity. Solar energy is completely non-polluting, green energy, throughout its life free and also it does not emit any greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. The objective of this paper is to save electricity consumption used for common purpose at residential apartment. This paper presents the proposed idea of implementing solar electric system also called as photovoltaic (PV) system at Akshat Palms apartment , Solapur. Photovoltaic (PV) systems convert sunlight directly to electricity. They work any time the sun is shining, but more electricity is produced when the sunlight is more intense and strikes the PV modules directly. Solar power system provides safe and reliable power generation without the need and expense of installing utility power. This paper gives the description about how much electricity is currently used by the apartment for common purpose like lift, parking area, porch light etc and how this electricity consumption can be reduce by applying solar panels at this apartment. The study involves determining the size of PV system required for the apartment. Then comparison of the electricity generated by this PV system per year with the usage of current annual electricity. It is based on the electricity usage measured in kilowatt-hours for apartment over the past few months. This electricity bills shows usage of near about 4500 units per month. The goal of this study is to reduce this electricity consumption which will automatically reduce carbon emission. We can also assume that Solar Photovoltaic will play an important role in the overall energy supply for residential apartment. By applying solar PV system at residential apartment will automatically reduce the monthly maintenance cost which each flat owner have to pay. Read More...

-Akash Raj ; Amit Ranjan
In the present research work, Axi-symmetric grain with truncated cone bore and aft end has cylinder cut-off and section of end burning grain is used for optimization. The aim of this research work is to compare the result of developed optimization tool with solid rocket motor test results Ref. [1], computation results Ref. [2], and predesigned grain using its objectives and constraints. Here, Genetic Algorithm is used for optimization of grain. Genetic algorithm is able to finding the best solution in design space. Within the geometric constraints, firstly the design variables are selected randomly and grain designs are developed in the amount of population numbers. Genetic Algorithm does not require any initial guesses as in case of Complex Algorithm. In the present study objective function is evaluated in the number of population size at each generation; therefore, objective function is calculated 30 times at each generation. The objective function value of the found geometry after 40 generation is 6.2% and propellant mass is reduced by 16.3% as compared to the actual rocket motor test results. Objective function of the actual grain geometry is calculated as 11.2% for the given objective thrust –time curve. Therefore, the genetic algorithm, having a better curve fit with the objective thrust-time curve than actual grain geometry. Read More...

A Survey of Black and Gray Hole Attacks in Wireless Mobile Ad Hoc Networks
-Divya S ; Chandrasekar
A MANET is a type of ad hoc network that can change locations and configure itself on the fly. Because MANETS are mobile, they use wireless connections to connect to various networks. MANET is group of large independent wire nodes interconnecting each other on peer to peer basis in an environment without any infrastructures. There are different attacks against the routing protocol in ad hoc networks. These attacks may have the aim of modifying the routing protocol so that traffic flows through a specific node controlled by the attacker. An attack may also aim at impeding the formation of the network, making legitimate nodes store incorrect routes, and more generally at perturbing the network topology. In this paper analysis, different type of black and gray hole attack detection techniques and algorithms in existing paper. A packet drop attack or blackhole attack is a type of denial-of-service attack in which a router that is supposed to relay packets instead discards them. The malicious router can also accomplish this attack selectively, e.g. by dropping packets for a particular network destination, at a certain time of the day, a packet every n packets or every t seconds, or a randomly selected portion of the packets. This is rather called a greyhound attack. If the malicious router attempts to drop all packets that come in, the attack can actually be discovered fairly quickly through common networking tools such as traceroute. Also, when other routers notice that the compromised router is dropping all traffic, they will generally begin to remove that router from their forwarding tables and eventually no traffic will flow to the attack. In this paper a survey on different detection and prevention techniques for the black hole and gray attack in MANET is presented. Read More...

Modeling and Detecting Human Action using Animated Pose Templates
-Keerthika S ; Kirubakaran.B
This research paper pose templates are used to identify short term, long term, and contextual action from a video scene. Each pose template consists of two components: 1) shape template represented by Histogram of Oriental Gradient (HoG). 2) The motion template represented by Histogram of Optical-Flows (HoF). Totally five videos are taken in training phase. The images are converted into frames. Neural Network is used to identify these actions from the videos. The images are divided into back view and front view. The back view image is subtracted from the original image. Then from the front view image we extract the actions of the person. The HoG is based on identifying the edges of the image. The HoF is based on threshold value. The threshold value is the grade value. A shape template may have more than one motion template represented by or -node. Therefore, each action is defined as a mixture (Or-node) of pose templates in an and-Or tree structure. While this pose template is apposite for detecting short-term action snippets in two to five frames, we spread it in two ways: 1) For long-term actions, we activate the pose templates by adding temporal constraints in a Hidden Markov Model (HMM), and 2) for contextual actions which are detected by the complete set by using SIMULATION and area is obtained by using the MATLAB 2013 software. Study of Factors Affecting the Springback Angle and its Analysis using Hyperform
-Vasundhara Vasudev Sutar ; Prof S. R. Patil; B.Thirupathi Raju
Springback is the geometric change made to a part at the end of the forming process. This happens when the part has been released from the forces of the forming tool and due to uneven force distribution along the cross section. During the development of tools, Springback is compensated by software in order to remove the component from the tool to get the required dimensions. As a result, intense tryout loops that occur at a very late stage in the development of the tool can be reduced to a minimum. Simulation software can not only detect Springback early on, it can also compensate for it. This paper gives the prediction of Springback for an automotive component named Bracket Shock Absorber mounting used in automotives. In this research the material properties for E 34 are used. Sheet metal with different thicknesses such as 5, 4 and 3 mm are used. Also different die radius such as 5, 4 and 3 mm are used. The effects of these parameters on sheet metal are studied and Springback is investigated. Read More...

Use of Fiber Reinforced Mortar and its Application in Masonry Structures
-Avinash Mishra ; Somnath Singh
In india brick masonary is very common Structure built with brick units bonded together by mortar .Brick usually having a higher strength and stiffness compared to mortar. Further mortar is usually cementitious material having little tensile strength and showing brittle behavior. Use of suitable reinforcement in mortar could significantly enhance the performance of brick masonry for crack, shear, bond, compression, toughness and resistance. The aim of this paper is to analyze the improvements in the strength of mortar by using fiber. By performing appropriate experiments, an attempt was made to analyze the properties of fibre reinforcement mortar and its application in masonary work. An attempt was made to cast the cement sand mortar with a mixture of fibres in different volume and observing its compressive and tensile strength. The shear and compression bond tests were performed at different mix proportion of fibre reinforcement prepared units made with FRM and plain mortar .The tests were carried out according to ASTMC 780 and Indian specifications. After addition of fibre in mortar the compressive, tensile strength increases and toughness also increases and ultimate deformation decreases. The cost of Fibre reinforced masonry is slightly more than plain mortar but it was felt that FRM Unit has better crack propagation so it becomes a good alternative of earthquake resistant building in which simple mortar is used. -Daljit Kaur
In this paper, we explain the detection of code smells in the source code along with the refactoring that code for the sake of quality improvement of source code and it is not gain saying that quality of code is hiked by the refactoring Techniques. Actually, the refactoring is a kind of procedure in which the internal structure of source code is improved but without disturbing the behavior of software. To crack the required results the Declarative Programming approach is followed along with object-oriented software metrics. Moreover, the finding of various code smells is possible only with the help of numerous Facts and Rules. We used this tool to find out the smells in one of the ECC application along with the other oops based case studies. Code maintainability index is represented in three categories (Hi, Low, Medium) that shows source code quality (Low, Hi, Medium). Read More...

Automatic Generation Control of Interconnected Power System with the Diverse Sources using Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage (SMES)
-Tushar Govind Pathar ; Tushar G. Pathar; Maulik V. Patel; Ravindra P. Chavda
The primary purpose of the AGC is to balance the total system generation against system load and losses so that the desired frequency and power interchange with interconnected systems are maintained. Any mismatch between generation and demand causes the system frequency to change from scheduled value. Thus high frequency deviation may lead to system collapse. Power system operation at a lower frequency affects the quality of power supply and if the frequency is not maintained within the scheduled values then it may first on the way to tripping of the lines then system collapse as well as blackouts. An Cost Effective Euclidean Steiner Tree Based Mechanism for Reducing Latency in Cloud
-Rahul Kumar Sharma ; Amrendra Singh Yadav; Mitra Bhushan; Mayank Deep Khare
Latency is the most effective performance factor in cloud. Online gaming and online shopping are totally depend on the performance of data service, If there is a large waiting time or queue delay in processing of request then the user will abort that and change the site. Here we are trying to reduce the latency in cloud. In this paper we are using to approaches one work between the user and data center that is iCloudAccess and another which work between the VM in the data center that is FARCREST. iCloudAccess is used to perform intelligently server provisioning and request dispatching, where on the other hand FARCREST is light weight real time service latency prediction system which is based on Euclidean Steiner Tree (EST) model that is used in delay-sensitive cloud services for optimum VM resource allocation. We perform iCloudAccess algorithm in that environment which is made the help of FARCREST mechanism to get minimum latency in our system. Read More...

An Efficient Neural Network Technique for Misuse Detection in IDS
-Nishu Rooprai ; Rupika Rana
Machine learning methods for Intrusion detection system has been giving elevating accuracy and quality detection potential on novel strikes. At present the two primary techniques of recognition are signature-based and anomaly-based on their detection method. IDS occur in a collection of "spices" and approach the target of recognizing suspicious traffic in alternate methods. There are network based (NIDS) and host based (HIDS) intrusion detection systems. Artificial neural networks (ANN) have become very important and profitable in domains as pattern classification and regression, because using rule-based programming does not offer the right solution or any solution at all. The neural network contains both the supervised and as well as unsupervised learning. In this research work, a neural network based technique is proposed to prevent misuse detection in intrusion detection system. The technique will be implemented on labeled and non-labeled data and combination of both. The technique is implemented for accuracy of intrusion detection in each iterations of detection. A Review of Literature on Design of Horizontal Press Machine
-Sana Khan ; K.I. Ahmad
Hydraulic press is a tool that functions by either, fluid pressure or hydraulic pressure. It is based on Pascal’s principle which states that the pressure throughout an enclosed entity is constant. In horizontal hydraulic presses the forces exerted by the pressurized fluid on a piston by means of manual or powered pumping element can be used for the press work operation such as blanking, punching, piercing, coining, trimming etc. This project is based on the requirement of G.S. Industries. The industry facing a problem of assembling and dismantling of heavy parts such as couplings, shaft, bearing and gears. Thus, it is very inconvenient to perform such operation on regular vertical press machines. So there is a need to design a horizontal press machine as a special purpose machine tool. Read More...
