A Survey on Documentation Modelling in Information Filtering using Pattern Recognition
-Ketaki Gadwale ; Dr. Emmanuel M.
In the field of information filtering many full-fledged term-based or pattern-based approaches have been used by assuming the documents in a collection are all about one topic. However, user’s interest can be varied and generally multiple topics are involved in the collection of documents. Topic modeling, such as Latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA), has been widely exploited in the fields of machine learning and information retrieval etc. but its effectiveness in information filtering has not been so well explored. A novel information filtering model, Maximum matched Pattern-based Topic Model (MPBTM), is proposed. Following features makes the proposed model peculiar: (1) In terms of multiple topics the user information need are generated and each topic is represented by patterns; (2)the most discriminate and representative patterns, called Maximum Matched Patterns are generated from topic models and are systematized in terms of their statistical and taxonomic features and proposed to estimate the documents relevance in order to filter out irrelevant documents suited to user to user’s information needs. Ultra-Low Frequency Amplification using Class D Topology
-Bari Rushabh Rajendra ; Bhoir Sakshat Ramesh; Deokar Abhishek Ramesh; Av Nikhil Thamban
The application is to be suitable for in-home as well as automotive use. The input can be stereo or mono from any low impedance audio signals such as a compact disc or MP3 player. It’s a power amplifier that uses a class D geography for matching current range of class AB amplifiers, surpassing all other class D evaluation boards and chipsets when operated in a domestic surrounding. A class D amplifier is defined by the output transistors which is being hard switched between conducting and non-conducting or vice-versa. This differs from the other amplification classes that is operate from the output transistors in the linear operating range. The input should not exceed the maximum voltage level, since audio quality cannot be guaranteed at such levels. Different amplifiers of class D type have an inaccurate frequency response output, when they are connected to different loads and are only optimized for one load impedance. Other than this type of amplifier use feedback after the reconstruction filter to correct for this. Using feedback after the reconstruction filter creates a huge phase shift in the feedback and has a very negative effect on the amplifiers performance when playing musical signals and can cause them to become unstable, oscillate and distort. During initial stage of power up of the class D amplifier, the circuit actively measures the high frequency impedance of the load connected to the amplifier and adjusts its high level of frequency output level to ensure that the audio output response is always accurate. Finally, the chosen design performs almost perfectly to specifications, but under actual construction there is crystal clear output. Read More...

Experimental and Fabrication of Solar Panel Tracking using the Real Time Clock
-Chandramouli M ; Aravind K; Chitrarasu B
The growth or energy demand in response to industrialization, urbanization and social affluence has led to an extremely uneven global distribution of primary energy consumption. The Sun, Wind, Waves and geothermal heat are renewable energy sources that will never run out. They are self- renewal. The rate of consumption does not exceed rate of renewability. The cost of generating electricity from wind and solar power has decreased by 90% over the past 20 years. Maximizing power output from a solar system is desirable to increase the efficiency of a solar tracing system. To maximize the power output from solar panels, we need to keep the panels aligned with the sun. In this project, the design of an efficient solar tracking system based on Real Time Clock (RTC) using microcontroller. The proposed tracking system is a low cost, high accurate, more efficient with low power consumption. The IC RTC is able to regulate the movement of solar panel about 15 degree per hour. The updating position of solar panel is constantly changed, but the approach is enough for capturing sunlight energy for generation of power by the solar panel. Read More...

-Surao Suraj ; Dr. Jameel; Mohammed Safiuddin ; Harika Priya; Md Ilyas Ahmed
Today concrete is most widely used construction material due to its good compressive strength and durability. Portland cement concrete takes approximately 24 hours to achieve structural or drive on strength and one month to reach final strength. When using Portland cement, you will need more working time to complete your projects. Now a days time being the important aspect of life, so there is a demand in quick constructions which is possible with the concrete which is known as the rapid setting concrete, which sets and attains maximum strength within minutes. Minimizing lane down-time is of key importance when repairing concrete pavements in high traffic volume areas. As a result, rapid setting concrete are in great demand. Many such products are available; however, they differ widely in chemical composition, workability, durability, and cost. The following proprietary rapid setting materials were chosen for laboratory evaluation (Rapid Set CONCRETE MIX). This concrete mixes contained both fine and coarse aggregate. Techniques used to place and finish the construction were similar to those used with conventional Portland cement concrete. Laboratory results include the compressive strengths, flexural strengths and Gilmore Needle set times of materials mixed. In this present study the OPC is replaced with Rapid Setting cement - 60% and magnesium oxide - 40% by mass of cement (2%, 4%, 6%, 8%&10%). Read More...

-Yash Rastogi ; Yash Rastogi; Sachin Pal; Sonia Singh; Rohit Kumar
Agriculture has always played an important role in the economic development of a nation as well as the growth of crops and land cultivation. In order to maintain a steady growth of crops the resources should always be in abundant supply and within an appropriate amount without deteriorating the soil condition. Manual labor has always been the focal of the agricultural industry without taking into consideration the conditions of the soil. Indian agriculture is dependent on the monsoons which is not a reliable source of water. Therefore there is a need for an irrigation system in the country which can provide water to the farms according to their soil types. Automated systems present today have a design that includes a micro-controller system for processing the soil conditions and follows the principle of continuous water logging by using various sensors. This paper represents the prototype design of microcontroller based automatic irrigation system which will allow irrigation to take place in zones where watering is required, while bypassing zones where adequate soil moisture is indicated. Multi-Objective Scatter Search using Cuckoo Search with Modified Hierarchical Agglomerative Clustering for Resolving Clustering Problems
-Karthikeyan S ; E. J. Thomson Fredrik
Data clustering is a vital concept of mining as it partitions the given dataset into meaningful set of clusters based on data similarity. This concept enhances the computation efficiency in the data analysis processes. In the preceding researches, Particle Swarm Artificial Bee Colony (PSABC) and Hybrid Artificial Bee Colony-Firefly Algorithm (HABC-FA) were developed for clustering to solve the clustering problem; however the imbalanced dataset problem still prevailed. This was overcome by the introduction of Multi-Objective Scatter Search Simulated Annealing with Hierarchical Agglomerative Clustering (MOSSSA-HAC) approach. But the feature selection in this approach has slow convergence speed. Hence in this paper, the Multi-Objective Scatter Search with Cuckoo Search algorithm with Modified Hierarchical Agglomerative Clustering (MOSSCS-MHAC) is proposed for resolving the convergence problem. In the initial stage, the Modified KNN is used for pre-processing followed by the under sampling process for error reduction. Then the multi-objective feature selection is performed using MOSSCS while the final clustering is achieved using MHAC algorithm. This approach provides optimal clustering with high accuracy. The experimental results show that the proposed MOSSCS-MHAC provides high values of precision, recall and f-measure than the existing algorithms. Read More...

An Experimental Study on Properties of Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Concrete
-Karthikeyan. T. V ; Dinesh. P; Madhan Kumar. M. S; Pasupathi. A
Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Concrete (Hy-FRC) is formed from a combination of two or more different types of fibres, which differ in material properties, remain bonded together when added in concrete and retain their identities and properties. The combining of fibers, often called hybridization, is investigated for a M20 grade concrete at a fraction of 0.5% in this paper. Control and three different hybrid fiber ratios were cast using different fiber proportions of polypropylene and coir fibers at the ratio of 70 % and 30 %. Compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength test were performed and results were analyzed to associate with above fiber combinations. Based on experimental studies, the paper identifies fiber combinations that demonstrate maximum compressive, split tensile and flexural strength of concrete. To evaluate the strength parameters different tests are conducted and results are tabulated. Hybrid ratio 0.5 % gives maximum results in all the strength parameters compare to other different hybrid ratios, that the strength was observed as increased up to 45 % while adding 0.5 % hybrid fibers. Smart Material - Shape Memory Alloy
-V. Karthikeyan ; Akhil K Nair; Vignesh. B
CAN a material possess intelligence? The answer depends on what one means by intelligence. One tends to associate intelligence with what a human brain can do: memory, thinking, problem solving, learning, creativity, etc. A artificial computer can do some of these tasks, but in terms of more sophisticated aspects of intelligence, it is no match even to a modest human brain. The recognition of these ultimate limits has inspired many scientists to study biological system as a model for developing intelligent or smart systems. Several smart systems (or structures) are in various stages of development for civil, military and various biological applications. Air forces require smart planes that can continuously change the wing's shape to achieve supersonic speed and evade radar screen. Diabetics need medical systems to sense sugar levels and deliver insulin. Architects are designing smart buildings with self-adjusting windows and self-cleaning materials we have made a comparative study between shape memory alloy materials and other generally used materials or alloys. Surface Inspection of Carry Side of Coal Conveyor Belts using Open CV and Machine Vision Algorithms
-Abhishek Kumar
In the Mining Industry, Conveyors are extensively used to carry various raw materials, coal and fluxes from remote mine faces to the stock yards/processing plants and other upstream process. These conveyors made of rubber or steel corded rubbers are extremely critical for plant operations and any breaks in the belts can require several days for repair. An early warning system is being devised to detect surface erosions, abrasion and tears in their nascent stages so that by splicing or vulcanization repairs can be effected immediately and life of the belt can be extended .This paper presents an efficient method to use Open CV algorithms on appropriately illuminated images from an area scan camera or any high resolution cameras to contrast, texturize and detect various categories of defects. Experimental evaluation shows that for a standard severity index Gaussian and Laplacian operations provide the desired results and least false positives among all techniques evaluated. The system software then facilitates manual defect categorization and classification for subsequent Automatic Defect Detection. Read More...

Spectrum Sensing Under Imperfection
-Sarun Babu ; Netha Merin Mathew
Cognitive Radio (CR) has received tremendous research attention over the past decade. A CR is a device that senses the spectrum for occupancy by licensed users (also called as primary users), and transmits its data only when the spectrum is sensed to be available. For the efficient utilization of the spectrum while also guaranteeing adequate protection to the licensed user from harmful interference, the CR should be able to sense the spectrum for primary occupancy quickly as well as accurately. Direct-conversion radio (DCR) receivers can offer highly integrated low-cost hardware solutions for spectrum sensing in cognitive radio (CR) systems. In particular, we provide the novel closed-form expressions for the evaluation of the detection and false alarm probabilities, assuming Rayleigh fading. Furthermore, we extend the analysis to the case of CR networks with cooperative sensing, where the secondary users suffer from different levels of RF imperfections, considering both scenarios of error free and imperfect reporting channel. Numerical and simulation results demonstrate the accuracy of the analysis. Read More...

Sequel Reaction of Slots in Patch and Ground Plane on Microstrip Antenna Performance: Review
-Tripti Rao ; Rajan Mishra
This paper presents the outcomes or effects of the slots in ground plane and patch on resonant frequency, impedance bandwidth, gain and side lobe. The microstrip antennas have been designed on εr = 4.3 and h = 1.53 mm. It has been observed as the slot length boosts the resonant frequency shifted to the lower side by 19.05 % and 5.04 % of fundamental frequency of slotted patch and slotted ground plane patch respectively. This shows the size reduction of slotted patch antenna is more than slotted ground plane patch. Likewise as the slot width increments the resonant frequency further shifted to lower frequency side. The shift in the fr (frequency response) due to length variation is more in both cases in comparison to width variation. The impedance bandwidth, Gain, side lobe and radiation efficiency effect due to slots have also been studied. This type of study is useful to design the compact antennas for Mobile communications. Maglev E-Bicycle
-Manoj Patil ; Aniket Gavali; Bhargav Shukla; Darshan Jadhav; Ashish Chaudhari
The current trend to produce energy in automobiles/bikes involves the combustion of air-fuel mixture inside a combustion chamber of a reciprocating engine and then converting the chemical energy into mechanical energy in order to perform work. This mechanical energy is then transmitted to the wheel by using power transmission elements. Also there are energy losses involved in transmission of power like frictional losses and damper losses from prime mover to the wheels through different transmission elements. This results in decrease in overall efficiency and increase in fuel consumption in engine. Whereas in maglev wheels, this loss can be lowered to a great extent by running the wheel itself as a prime mover. It is an attempt to run a bicycle with the use of batteries, permanent magnets and electromagnet, so as to develop and manufacture a mode of transport with no fuel consumption and as a results without pollution and environment friendly. Maglev wheels involves the concept of magnetism and use of repulsion property of magnets. The entire wheel of the bicycle consists of permanent magnets. This magnet is attached between the spokes of the bicycle near the wheel rim. These permanent magnets are placed at an equal interval of angular distances held in bracket like structure. Two electromagnets are used to repel this permanent magnet. These electromagnets are placed below the seat of bicycle near and around the both sides of the wheel rim such that permanent magnets and electromagnets are very close to each other with small clearance between them. A solid state relay is used to power the electromagnet. This relay is again powered by small batteries. In order to activate the relay, a proximity sensor is used. This sensor is mounted near the hub of wheel in front of steel lug ring. This ring has slots like those between the gear teeth. The permanent magnets are so arranged that whenever the steel lugs come in front of proximity sensor, one permanent magnet comes in between the two electromagnets mounted near the rim. In this way the output of sensor is transmitted to solid state relay. The relay thus gets activated and allows large voltage and current to pass through it and transmitted it to the electromagnets. The electromagnets having opposite polarity than that of permanent magnets cause the permanent magnets to repel away from electromagnets and the wheel of bicycle starts rotating. This process keeps on repeating as long as steel lug comes in front of proximity sensor and relay is activated. Read More...
