To Perform Investigation into Failure of Tamping Arm - Literature Review
-Jay Sarnaik ; A. S. Chaudhary
The Tamping arm is joined to main body using a sleeve and a pin and the joint is pivot point. The upward end of arm is connected with hydraulic cylinder and lower one is connected with tamping tool. During the working of Tamping machine, the Tamping Unit because of its self-weight penetrates through the bed of ballast up to desired depth, after which the hydraulic cylinder cranks outwards causing the tamping arm to move inwards. This inward movement of arm squeezes the ballast and fill the gap below the sleeper. Due to reactions from the self-weight and Hydraulic force, the pivot point that connects the tamping arm with main body fails frequently. The main cause of this failure is the high friction between sleeve and pin due to surface to surface contact. This high friction causes erosion of material and induces play in the fit between the tamping arm and sleeve. There is requirement to replace tamping arm at a small span due to which cost is high due to frequent downtime on railway line. Further literature review is to be done to verify this cause.to avoid the failure of Tamping Unit the Failure Analysis is being carried out. For this CAD modeling of the tamping unit is carried out in CAD software PRO-E. Read More...

-Akshay Ananda Chandure ; Kishor Khanderao Powar; Kajal Balaso Chopade; Pooja Rajendra Dingane; Swapnali Shirish Magdum
this paper is related to the automation for tension monitoring of warp during manufacturing of fabric (cloth) in power looms. If tension is not maintained properly it affects the quality of fabric (cloth). The aim is to improve the quality of clothes and make it defect free. In this we replace the conventional system of the chain and weight by the braking system and the bevel gear with dc motor. Because in conventional system negative let off motion, the tension on warp is maintained manually which is not accurate. This is done by adjusting the wt. on cantilever manually so most of human errors occur. To reduce those errors we made this system. Read More...

-Y. Ramana Murthy ; S. Vasanthi; D. Vamsi; J. Hema Mahendra; T. Krushna Rao
These days, computer simulation is increasingly being used for design and performance evaluation of communication systems. When simulating a mobile wireless channel for communication systems, it is usually assumed that the fading process is a random variety with Rayleigh distribution. In this paper, we have tried to understand Rayleigh Fading (which best describes the scenario in an urban or macro cell environment) better by comparing Jakes and Dent models and observing the changes that are caused by varying different parameters. Furthermore, BER analysis of a Rayleigh Fading Process was also done to see the effects on the change of different parameters on the variance of BER with respect to the SNR. Also, the Rayleigh Fading Process was compared to the phenomenon of AWGN using this process. Read More...

This research focuses a new method of using data obtained from CT images combined with digital CAD and rapid prototyping model for the surgical planning of difficult corrective and this new application enables the surgeon to choose the proper configuration and location of internal fixation of plate on humerus bone in the field of orthopaedics. This paper presents the procedure for making model of humerus bone using rapid prototyping technologies [RPT]. Production of prototypes for medical modeling (orthopaedics) in general can be classified into two broad categories based on manufacturing process route and type of data available, i.e. designed data and scanned/digitized data. Designed data is data that is created according to a person's idea on computer aided design (CAD) system. For this type of data, the designer has total control to modify, adjust and manipulate his design ideas to serve the functional purpose of his design. Producing models with this type of data is very straightforward and no further data treatment is required. CAD solid model can be directly converted to STL format for use in subsequent rapid prototyping process. For this type of data, the user has limited capability to modify and manipulate the geometry and further processing is required before they can be readily used by rapid prototyping system. For example, further data treatment is needed for Scanned data from computed tomography (CT) and agnatic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners which capture soft and hard tissue information based on density threshold value. The undesired soft tissue data is removed before it is sent to rapid prototyping machine for fabrication. Read More...

Mechanical Analysis and Heat Simulation of Laser Welding of 3D-Printed SS316L Stainless Steel
-Mohamed Harraz ; Markus Schleser; Mohamed Elwi
Additive manufacturing is becoming increasingly common in industry fabrications especially for durable and expensive spare parts which cannot be found easily in the local market and also for tailor made parts. For large parts that are not economically and practically 3D printed, due to its size limitation it is sometimes more convenient to join 3D printed parts together to form larger parts. In this paper 3D printed flat plates 3mm thick were prepared by direct laser sintering of SS316L stainless steel powder. Mechanical properties and microstructure were investigated. Elongation and maximum tensile stress of 3D printed flat plates are with 1.3% and 704MPa close to the values 2% and 1241MPa of cold-rolled SS316 parts. The 3D printed flat plates were joined by laser welding. The welded joints were tested for their mechanical properties and microstructure, and simulation of the welding process was performed by ANSYS. For the used welding conditions, the fracture occurred outside the weld zone. The maximum stress of the welded parts is 80% of 3D printed flat plates. The elongation of the welded parts is above 3%. -Vinayak Yogesh Kanchgar ; Manish Mohanan; Roshni Shinde; Mayuri Wasnik; Vinay Patel
The term "Cryogenics" originates from Greek word which means creation or production by means of cold. As prices for energy and raw materials rise and concern for the environment makes safe waste disposal difficult and costly, resource recovery becomes a vital matter for today's business. Polymers cannot be easily grinded using conventional method. Due to this temperature rise, increases wear on grinding equipment are common phenomena and finely ground material is not achieved. Therefore cryogenic grinding system was design and developed to cool the polymers before feeding it to grinder and also maintain the cryogenic temperature in the grinding zone. The cryogenic grinding system consist of three separate units (i) Pre cooling unit and (ii) Grinding unit (iii) storing and compressing unit. Our work is totally to based on design and manufacturing. Paper covers design, development and manufacturing of pre cooling unit, grinding unit which involves screw conveyor with enclosed insulated barrel and grinding mill. Design of DC/DC Sepic Integrated Boost Converter
-Bhadresh Patel ; Merolina Cristie
Photovoltaic power generation systems are becoming increasingly prevalent in distribution and generation systems. Many industrialized nations are installing significant solar power capacity in their grids as a supplement or alternative to other power sources. This project presents PV module with SEPIC converter for electrical applications especially for dc load application. A general boost converter has limited voltage step-up ratio because of its parasitic resistances. Thus, it is not applicable for high step-up applications. As a solution, combining a boost converter with a series output module can be considered to supplement the insufficient step-up ratio. By applying this concept, a new integrated boost-SEPIC (IBS) converter, which provides additional step-up ratio with the help of an isolated SEPIC converter. Read More...

Improved Security and Authentication of Digital Image
-Akhila Aniyan ; Ambi Rachel Alex
Image security sometimes shortened to InfoSec, is the practice of defending information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, inspection, recording or destruction. It is a general term that can be used regardless of the form the data Multimedia authentication has recently gained considerable attention due to the readily available multimedia editing and reconstruction tools and the need for transmission of multimedia objects, such as audio video and text, over non-secure networks. Authentication of these multimedia objects is very different from standard data authentication. Multimedia data is almost always preprocessed or modified before usage or transmission over (insecure) networks. The preprocessing and modifications include operations such as compression, quantization, scaling, cropping etc. These operations affect the multimedia data; however, the content remains unaffected. Standard authentication mechanisms are effective in authenticating the actual multimedia data but not in authenticating the multimedia content. Read More...

Things shared through Social Media may influence more than one client's protection e.g., photographs that portray different clients, remarks that say numerous clients, occasions in which different clients are welcomed, and so on. The absence of multi-gathering protection administration support in current standard Social Media foundations makes clients not able to suitably control to whom these things are really shared or not. Computational instruments that can consolidate the protection inclinations of various clients into a solitary strategy for an thing can take care of this issue. In any case, consolidating different clients' security inclinations is not a simple undertaking, since protection inclinations may struggle, so techniques to determine clashes are required. Also, these techniques need to consider how clients' would really come to an understanding around an answer for the contention with a specific end goal to propose arrangements that can be satisfactory by the majority of the clients influenced by the thing to be shared. Current methodologies are either excessively requesting or just consider altered methods for conglomerating security inclinations. In this paper, we propose the principal computational instrument to determine clashes for multi-party protection administration in Social Media that can adjust to various circumstances by demonstrating the concessions that clients make to achieve an answer for the contentions. We likewise introduce comes about of a client study in which our proposed system outflanked other existing methodologies as far as how frequently every methodology coordinated clients' conduct. -Mr. Dharmendra Singh Rajput ; Dr. S. R. Nigam; Dr. Mohan Sen
In the recent trends in application of renewable energy sources, integrated solar chimney wind power plant has been designed with different geometrical parameter for increase the accessibility of solar and wind energy due to increasing the rate of environmental pollution and lake of non- renewable energy resources. A solar chimney wind power plant (SCWPP) is a type of solar thermal system that use the thermal energy generated by solar and convert it into the electrical energy. In the recent few years there are many researcher have exposed strongest attention for exploration the performances of solar chimney wind power plant due to its economic, environmental and huge potential application. There are different geometrical parameters and operating conditions like chimney height, collector radius, throat radius, solar radiation, wind velocity, solar absorption coefficient, solar loss coefficient, chimney shapes which are play vital role for optimize the performances of solar chimney wind power plant. In this numerical investigation a computational model of Manzanares pilot solar chimney win power plant, Spain has been created with help of commercially availableness 14.5 software. The temperature, velocity, pressure and vector distribution were plotted and evaluated for examine the influence of chimney height, collector radius, throat radius, solar radiation, solar absorption coefficient, solar loss coefficient, and collector percentage and fraction factor on the performance of solar chimney wind power plant when other parameters are constant. The obtained result is illustrated that, the power of SCWPP has enhances as increases the chimney height, collector radius, collector percentage and solar absorption coefficient but throat radius and solar loss coefficient it gives inversely effect on the power. It has been also illustrated that the throat radius gives more effect on the power of SCWPP while the effect of collector percentage on power negligible. This study is also suggested a solar chimney wind power plant at chimney height 24.4 m with collector radius 38. 92 m and throat radius 0.7m,collector absorption coefficient 0.66 and collector loss coefficient 15it gives approximately 5.4 KW power output at Indian operating conditions means ambient temperature should be 303.15 K and solar radiation is 1000W/m2. From the study it can also revealed that for further improvement in power increase the solar absorption coefficient and reduce the solar loss coefficient in same working condition. Read More...

Sedimentation of Dams
-Aditya Prasad Mehendale ; Nilesh Kumbhar; Nakul Joshi; Nailesh Jadhav; Saurabh Patil
Dams and reservoirs are useful tools to control water resources to allow irrigation, and to avoid high-flood disasters. Nevertheless, these useful capacities to store water also lead to unintended consequences which affect the erosion/transport processes through watersheds. Some dams no longer serve the purpose for which they were constructed. When a dam has significantly deteriorated, the costs of repair may exceed the expected benefits, and dam removal may be a less expensive alternative. Hydropower reservoirs are loses their capacity due to sedimentation processes, and are therefore seriously threatened in their performance. Read More...

Use of Plastic Waste in Manufacturing of Bricks
-Yash Goyal ; K. D. Waghmare; Anurag Goyal; Akhilesh Agarwal; Rishab Gupta
There is a growing awareness in India about extensive damage being caused to the environment due to accumulation of waste materials from industrial plants, power houses, colliery pits and demolition sites and it has become one of the major environmental, economic and social issues. Waste material is the material unused, unwanted and rejected as worthless into the environment in our society as whole. Waste materials coming out of industry nowadays is posing a great environmental problem in disposing them into the air, water and on the land. But, with proper utilization of these materials in construction industry as well as in making road pavements will greatly help the society to have a better and pleasant environment. Substitution of waste materials will conserve dwindling resources, and will avoid the environmental and ecological damages caused by quarrying and exploitation of the raw materials. The aim of this study is to explore the possibility of re-cycling plastic waste material that is now produced in large quantities in the formulation of bricks as admixture. Looking forward to the environmental condition, complete ban on plastic cannot be made. Our present work is helping to take care of these aspects. Plastic waste, consisting of carry bags, cups and other utilized plastic can be used as an admixture in manufacturing of bricks. In this work an attempt has been made to manufacture bricks by using waste plastic in range of 60 – 80 % by weight of laterite soil and 60/70 grade bitumen was added in range of 2 – 5 % by weight of soil in molten form. And this bitumen- plastic resin was mixed with laterite soil to manufacture the bricks. The results of this investigation consolidate the idea of the use of plastic waste in the field of construction, especially in the manufacturing of bricks. Read More...

Experimental Investigation on Behaviour of Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Self-Compacting Concrete
-N. R. Praveen ; Dr. S. Krishnamoorthi
Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) offers several technical and economic benefits, the use of fibers extends its possibilities. Self-Compacting Concrete is a relatively different type of concrete which comparatively have a high flow ability and cohesiveness to conventional concrete. Glenium 8233 is a superplasticizer which acts as a water reducing agent and Viscosity Modifying Agent (VMA) with reference to the EF¬¬NARC specifications are used. In this project glass fibers and steel fibers are used in combination and they are added in three different ratios about 50/50, 25/75 and 75/25 to the concrete. The Self-Compacting criteria of the mixes are attained by conducting the Slump flow, V-funnel and J-Ring tests on the fresh concrete obtained are checked against the specifications given by EFNARC guidelines. The fibers are added to the concrete as 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75% and 1% to the volume, eventually the inclusion of fiber reduced the flow ability and passing ability of the concrete. The addition of fiber to the concrete increases the mechanical properties and also satisfies EFNARC specifications of Self-Compacting Concrete up to certain ratio but the mix that are added with concentration of more glass fibers failed to attain the Self-Compacting nature, the more the volume of glass fiber the workability is affected. The uses of this special stretcher are, to transfer medicines for hospital and give freedom to the retired person or paralyzed patients to move anywhere on flat surface as well as stairs. We are in the process of development of a tri-wheel stretcher that has several new features than existing wheel and track based on universal stair for all place. A Three-wheel functions as ordinary wheel on flat surface, but has the ability to climb automatically when a defect to rolling is encountered. This wheels are consists of three tires, each wheel is on separate shaft. These shaft are located on vertices of an equilateral triangle. These triangular sets of wheels can neglate many types of terrain, rocks, sand and mud. It can also allow a vehicle to climb on small obstructions such as rocks, holes, and stairs. The wheels can also be gear-driven, two wheels are on rolling contact with the ground. The third wheel is at the top til the lower first wheel hit an obstruction. The obstruction prevents the lower front wheel from moving forward but it does not affect the motion of the driving axle. So, the top wheel is rolling forward into position as the new front wheel. This wheel usually lands on top of the obstruction and give the rest of the assembly to vault over the obstruction. Using of this stair vehicle, the human labor cost can be reduced as well as huge amount of loads can be transferred with less power consumption. Read More...

-Vivek .B. Vaidya ; Samuel Anvikar ; Mehul Narnaware; Utkarsh Gadve; Prajwal Manwatkar
The increase in demand for refrigeration globally in the field of air-conditioning, food preservation, medical services, vaccine storages, and for electronic components temperature control led to the production of more electricity and consequently an increase in the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere which in turn leads to global warming and many climatic changes. Thermoelectric refrigeration is a new alternative because it can reduce the use of electricity to produce cooling effect and also meet today’s energy challenges. Therefore, the need for thermoelectric refrigeration in developing countries is very high where long life and low maintenance are needed. The primary objective of this portable solar thermoelectric refrigerator cum cooler is to provide a comparatively low cost alternative to existing cooling systems. Refrigerators in the confines of our homes are too traditional, besides a portable refrigerator with a cooler which runs on solar energy as an alternative is a better choice. As a developing civilization, we have been consuming large amounts of energy for our survival and the non-renewable sources of energy are depleting. Solar energy is widely available as compared to other renewable energy sources. The system will utilize solar energy, where supply of conventional electricity is not dependable. Comparison has been made based of existing systems and feasibility. The system works on Peltier effect. Thermoelectric Modules are incorporated for space cooling application. The cold side of the thermoelectric modules is utilized for space cooling, and the heat generated in the thermoelectric modules is removed using heat sinks and an arrangement of fans. The coefficient of performance of the system is a criterion for evaluating the performance of the cooling system. An effort has been made to enhance the COP using a combination of solar cells and thermoelectric modules. The system is compact, which makes it portable and it can be customized and fabricated to meet different user’s requirements. The problem with traditional refrigerators have been, high consumption of electricity, negative impacts on the environment, all these problems have been addressed by the thermoelectric cooler. It does not make use of refrigerants thus ensuring a green and eco- friendly technology for space cooling applications. The absence of Compressor leads to noiseless operation and lowered maintenance cost. It is an energy efficient initiative, consuming less power. For generations rural India does not have a dependable supply of electricity. Being highly reliable alternative it is intended for use in these places. Read More...

Study on Flexural Behaviour of Reinforced Cement Concrete using Pet Wires
-S. Thoufiq Ahamed ; S. Karthikeyan
Concrete is the most widely used construction material. Despite it is versatility in construction, it is known to have several limitations. It is weak in tension, has limited ductility and little resistance to cracking. The fibres act as micro crack arrester in cement composites. Many commercial fibres like steel, carbon, glass etc. are used as an addition or a replacement in the concrete to increase the strength. But use of steel and carbon fibres in concrete may be quite expensive when used in a large scale. So usage of PET fibre in concrete will enhance to reduce the cost as well as the environmental degradation. PET is unreinforced, semi-crystalline thermo-plastic polyester derived from polyester family. PET fibre can be used in concrete to improve its ductile parameters. This study presents the experimental investigation of PET fibre as a building material in concrete. PET fibres are added into the concrete in the percentages of 0.0 to 1.5% by weight of specimen at the increment of 0.5%. This study includes the strength characteristics of PET fibre concrete and investigate the mechanical properties such as compressive strength, Split tensile strength and Flexural strength. -C. Nandhini ; R. Rangeela; P. M. Snehalatha; A. Indira Devi
Cloud storage is a model of data storage in which the digital data is stored in logical pools, the cloud storage providers are responsible for keeping the data available, accessible and security. A privacy-preserving public auditing protocol allows a third party auditor to check the integrity of the outsourced data on behalf of the users without violating the privacy of the data. However, existing privacy-preserving public auditing protocols assume the end devices of users are powerful enough to compute all costly operations in real time when the data to be outsourced is given. In fact, the end devices may also be those with low computation capabilities. This paper provides the data security and data integrity checking in dynamic cloud storage. Merkle Hash Tree authentication structure with partial signatures to used. The User level privacy can be implemented using double encryption scheme at the time of data storage in the cloud. Experiments show that our protocols based on online/offline signatures are hundreds of times more efficient than a recent proposal and we include the batch auditing protocol to improve the efficiency.
