Robotic Hand Control by Flex Sensor and Arduino
-Pratik Shashikant Tarale
The present manuscript deals with designing a haptic robotic are, which can be used to pick and place the object. In the paper, a robotic are with four degree of freedom is designed and is able to pick the object with a specific weight and place them in a desire location. Animatronics is the use of mechatronics to create machines which seem animate rather than robotic. Animatronic figures are most often powered by pneumatics (compressed air), and, in special instances, hydraulics (pressurized oil), or by electrical means. The figures are precisely customized with the exact dimensions and proportions of living creatures. Motion actuators are often used to imitate "muscle" movements, such as limbs to create realistic motions. The project idea came to us after watching the movie named "Real Steel". We wanted to make a shadow robot from our curiosity. As the whole body of the robot would have been of much cost, we decided to make a shadow hand instead. Approximating the kinematics of the human hand was our top priority when developing this animatronic hand. Each joint of this hand has a movement range again the same as or very close to that of a human hand, including the thumb and even the flex of the palm for the little finger. Read More...

-Akash Shriram Hiwrale ; Prof. K. R. Sontakke
Agitator is use in various processing industry for fluid mixing. Mixing is the intermingling of two or more dissimilar portions of materials resulting in attainment of a desired level of uniformity either physically or chemically. This work gives approach for performing stress analysis of an agitator of a large mixing vessel used in medium density fiber process plant. The analysis is carried out for total deformation and natural frequencies in agitator body. The agitator is subjected to vibration due to multi-axial forces resulting from bending and tensional loading imposed by the mixing operation. To optimize the mixing percentage of mixture here in this dissertation two special type of paddle type impellers are suggested which are double helical ribbon impeller and anchor impeller. In this dissertation ANSYS software is used for computing structural analysis as well as modal analysis. From structural analysis it is found that all the type of impellers has deformation in acceptable limits i.e. Below 0.025 mm and form modal analysis it is found that double helical ribbon impeller can be resonated by only single operational frequencies i.e. Double helical ribbon impeller blade pass frequency (6.67 Hz) as it come in the six natural frequency band of double helical ribbon impeller i.e. 4.6 Hz 23.61Hz. Since this single frequency affects the system, it is very mush easy to counter that one. Read More...

The Effect of Baggase Ash and Rubber Tyre Waste in Strength of Concrete
-Pravesh Shukla ; R. C Singh
For the construction works, concrete leads main role and a large quantum of concrete is being utilized. This inevitably led to a continuous and increasing demand of natural materials or alternative materials used for their production. At present the disposal of waste sugarcane baggase ash and tyres is becoming a major waste management problem in the world. It is estimated that 1.2 billion of waste tyre rubber produced globally per annum. Only 11% of post-consumer tyres are exported and 27% are sent to stockpiled, landfill or dumped illegally and 4% is used for civil engineering works. Baggase ash is also a by-product from sugarcane industries. The utilization of baggase ash in cement concrete as a partially replacement of fine aggregate is gaining immense importance today. In this research, our present aims to investigate the use of waste tyre rubber as coarse aggregate in concrete. In this project, the bagasse ash has been chemically and physically characterized and partially replaced in the ratio of 0%, 5%, 15% and 25% by weight of cement in concrete. The mix proportion for M30 grade concrete was derived. Rubber tyre waste has been used as coarse aggregate with replacement of conventional coarse aggregate and it is taken as constant of 10%. Storage Through Safe Deduplication at Source Side on Cloud Data
-Kuncham Bharath Kumar
Cloud computing is a prevalent data interactive paradigm for processing of large amounts of data and storage without considering the local infrastructure limitations. The advent of cloud storage enables the organizations and enterprises to outsource their data to third party cloud service providers (CSP). Though the services provided by Cloud has many advantages, the users voluntarily give up the physical possession of their outsourced data which inevitably poses new security and privacy risks and yet another challenge is the management of ever increasing volume of data for CSP. In order to deal with these security issues, a new secure storage with deduplication scheme has been adopted. In order to provide security of outsourced data against malicious users and curious CSP's, a new convergent encryption technique is proposed. Every Client encrypts the file before uploading and the encrypted file is input to Hash algorithm which generates a unique identifier for every file. The Client specifies the authorized users and their access rights in a metafile uploaded to the cloud and user can decrypt the downloaded file with his secret key. Read More...

-Prakher Dubey ; Nishnat V Saxena
Solar air heaters are cheap and extensively used solar energy collection devices for space heating, seasoning of timber, curing of industrial products and can also be effectively used for curing/drying of concrete/clay building components and in air-conditioning systems. In this article, the effect of relative roughness height on Nusselt number and friction factor in an artificially roughened solar air heater having circular-sectioned symmetrical right angle roughness (duct aspect ratio, AR = 1) is studied. Circular-sectioned symmetrical right angle geometry are applied at the underside of the top of the duct, that is, on the absorber plate. The pitch (P) and height (e) are varied by keeping pitch-to-height ratio constant (P/e = 35mm). The height-to-hydraulic-diameter ratio (e/D) studied is 0.013 mm. For each height-to-hydraulic diameter ratio (e/D), simulations are executed at six Reynolds numbers from 3500 to 13,000 (relevant in solar air heater). The thermal enhancement factor for e/D = 0.013 is found to be the best for the investigated range of parameters. The objective of this limited study is to provide an overview of the effects of temperature, carbonation and sulphate attack on high strength concrete. Reinforcement corrosion is major cause of the deterioration of concrete structure. In the carbonation atmospheric carbon dioxide reacts with hydrated cement and destroys its alkalinity. This affected on concrete durability. Sulphate in atmosphere, soil, ground water may cause damage to concrete in structure. Concrete can be affected by a chemical reaction involving sulphate that when present in contaminated hardcore along with a source of moisture, reacts with cement present in the concrete causing it to expand and crack. High temperature effects the compressive strength of concrete. Above 2120F the cement paste begins to dehydrate (loses chemically combined water of hydration), which gradually weakens the paste and paste aggregate bond. Read More...

-Shubham Dighole ; Avinash Devare; Jahabaj Pathan; Prof. O. V. Vaidya
To reduce the problem face by the road users and for the convenience of the vehicle driver the Porous Asphalt roadways are best and effective solution. Porous asphalt is invented in 1950 in United Kingdom Air Ministry. Porous asphalt will help to reduce the water standing on the roads by penetrating it inside the soil. Porous asphalt is made with single size aggregates so that the voids between the two aggreagate will increase about 20-25 % than the conventional. This gap will allow the water to percolate water through it. The water may recharge the ground water table, or an effective water management system can be made so that it could be utilize somewhere else. Bitumen and aggregates are not well compacted. Compaction will reduce the voids between them, which will lead to fail to attent the porosity property. The aggreagates used in this project are all of same shape and size. Single size aggreagtes will create voids between them. Read More...

-C. Ameenullah Khan ; Mr. K. Viswanath; Mr. D. Harshavardhan; Mr. Jayam. Sreehari
In machining operation, the quality of surface finish is an important requirement for many turned work pieces. In the present investigation the influence of process parameters like speed, feed, depth of cut in dry machining, are studied as surface roughness and material removal rate as the output. An artificial neural network (ANN) model was developed for the analysis and prediction of the relationship between input and output parameters during high-speed turning of nickel-based, nimonic-75, alloy. The input parameters of the ANN model are the cutting parameters: speed, feed rate, depth of cut, cutting time, and coolant pressure. The output parameters of the model are two measured during the machining trials, namely surface roughness (Ra) and material removal rate (MRR). The model can be used for the analysis and prediction of the complex relationship between cutting conditions and the output parameters in metal-cutting operations and for the optimization of the cutting process for efficient and economic production. -Aanchal Sathyanarayanan ; Himani Asrani; Tejal Daga; Neha Awate
Nowadays people are very active and open about expressing themselves on social media due to the liberty provided there. People express all kinds of emotions honestly. Sentiment Analysis is the process of identifying and categorizing opinions and views expressed by humans in a piece of data. This is useful to gain an overview of people and their thought process. This analysis can be put to use in many areas like entertainment, sports, health care, etc. In our implemented system we extract tweets using Twitter API and python functions. We create a dataset from these tweets and give them to Knime tool as training and test dataset. Using different Sentiment Analysis algorithms like Naive Bayes, Decision Tree, etc. the Knime tool gives us output as classified data. The data is classified into 2 polarities: Positive and Negative. The tweets containing words such as happy, excited, great, etc. are assigned with a positive polarity while those having words like sad, sick, worried, etc. are assigned with a negative polarity. Using these polarities, we can predict the moods of the sports players and help improve them so that it doesn't affect the performance. We can use it for movie reviews and also for feedbacks for services of hospitals. Read More...

Environmental degradation and depleting oil reserves are matter of great concern round the globe. This study aim to investigate the performance characteristic of mixed fuel LPG and Diesel under compression ignition in an effort to develop highly efficient and low brake specific fuel consumption based CI engine. An experimental investigation was made to evaluate the performance and combustion characteristics of a four stroke, single cylinder C.I. engine with LPG and diesel fuel was blended with diesel in proportions of 10%, 20% and 30% by volume and studied for the load range of No load to Max. Load (15 kg), with the engine operated at constant speed. The performance parameters considered for comparing are brake power, brake specific fuel consumption, brake specific energy consumption, brake thermal efficiency etc. of the engine. The performance parameters were found to be very close to that of pure diesel. The brake thermal efficiency were better than pure diesel for the blend B20 under certain loads. From the investigation it may be concluded that B20 (20% LPG + 80% Diesel) gives better performance in comparison to other modified oil. It is also concluded that either blending up to 20% or LPG can be used in diesel engines in rural areas for stationary applications like irrigation, processing of agricultural products and electric generation. From all these observations, it is recommended that the blends LPG with diesel up to 20% by volume is a replacement to diesel fuel for running the diesel engine without sacrificing the power output. Transient Positional Protection of Transmission Lines using Complex Wavelets Analysis
-Badal N. Mondal ; P. Darshan; Soniya K. Malode
Transmission and distribution lines are very important links between generating units and distribution system. They’re exposed to atmosphere, thus possibilities of prevalence of fault in conductor is incredibly high, and that should be directly taken care of so as to reduce harm caused by it. This work presents a replacement high-speed protection theme, transient point protection (TPP), for power transmission lines. This theme is developed mistreatment advanced moving ridge analysis, supported the conception of transient-based protection (TBP), during which the fault generated high-frequency transient signals contained within the primary voltages are used to discover fault position per their relative motion time and polarities. Combined data (CI) is obtained from advanced moving ridge coefficients to extract and localize a band of fixed high-frequency parts propagating on the conductor. A typical 400-kV extra high voltage (EHV) transmission line has been simulated by MATLAB sim power system tool box to gauge the theme. The simulation results show that this theme is capable of providing correct responses below numerous system configurations and fault conditions. Different fault case situations are tested with the model system so as to verify the effectiveness of gift work. The soundness improvement mistreatment this management strategy has been verified by the time domain simulation model developed in MATLAB/SIMULINK. Read More...

Design and Development in Surgical Instrument for Nose Surgery
-Roshan P. Bagde ; Prof. Swapnil Choudhary
The work describes the design and development of a surgical instrument for doing the lateral osteotomy. Currently a chisel and hammer is used to break the nasal bone in Rhinoplasty. During the surgery the surgeon positions the chisel and hit it with the hammer to break the nasal bone for doing the corrective surgery. It has many drawbacks like, non-uniform cutting of bone, probability of damage to nerves connecting eyes and brain, skill development and its time consuming. A new and innovative design of a simple mechanism to perform the surgery is discussed in this thesis. The designing process was initiated by studding the basic anatomy of the nose. The mean thickness on the lateral osteotomy line was 1.85 mm ± 0.32 mm in males and 1.91 mm ± 0.46 mm in females. Lever 1 mechanism was studied to design the forceps. It is experimentally calculated that gripping force is 250N-450N. The length of forceps was designed such that to transfer sufficient force to break the bone. Considering the above dimension and tolerance space available inside the nose the designing was completed. A rapid prototype model of the designed model was generated so that the surgeon could examine the forceps closely and suggest for modification. The fabrication process was initiated after this. The fabricated forceps was given to the surgeon for inspection. After getting confirmation from the surgeon, cadaveric study was conducted. The cadaveric study and its observations are discussed in detail. Read More...
