A Bridging Science and Spirituality: Comparative Analysis of Neutral Axis and Sthitprgyata (Steady Wisdom)
-Manish Dubey
The 'happiness' appears as sole purpose of all human development activities, is the combination of comfort at physical and mental level both. Science and Spirituality are main guiding streams to provide comfort at physical and mental level respectively. But a gap is observed on the level of awareness about the concepts of each other's areas between scholars of both streams. In order to achieve the same goal easily, it is necessary that the means of acquiring it will move forward with the help of mutual understanding and take advantage of each other's concepts. For that, this paper deals with the study of similarity between two most important and basic concepts from science and spirituality. The concepts are ‘Neutral Axis’ from applied science and 'Sthitprgyata' (steady wisdom) from Spiritual field which is a very significant aspect of Gita. The neutral axis which is studied through the compression and tension developed during the external load condition in a simply supported beam and the state of Sthitpragyata described through the concepts of Raga (attachment) and Dwesha (aversion), occurred during the different circumstances in human mind, have been explained well in Patanjali Yoga Sutra and Gita. There are some very interesting factors of similarity are observed in these concepts and their establishing elements also, which may help and encourage the scholars of both streams to understand the theories and concepts of the each other. One of the major sectors that is driving the economy of the nation is the fuel industry. Recently, the changes in the pricing of fuels have been evolving and there are no definite indicators or any other entities that can help in predicting how the fuel prices can be determined. This where the data mining concepts and techniques help in doing the same. Data Mining is an analytical process designed to explore data in search of hidden relationships between variables, and then to validate the results by applying the patterns found, to a new subset of data. This paper, gives the use of data mining techniques and use them into a processed form to predict the future fuel prices. We propose this paper which introduces the use of Bayesian classification, for the purpose of prediction of future fuel prices. This method stands out to be more relevant and accurate than other methods which can be considered for the same application. This proposed method is attractive as the results can be obtained using a mobile phone. Read More...

Skin Segmentation in Images and Video based on Stacked Auto Encoders (SAEs)
-Berlin S John ; Sudheesh S R; Anitha Rajam B S
Traditional skin segmentation is based on skin probability maps and guassian mixture models to capture skin tones under different conditions . A good skin detector is important for human-machine interaction applications. The greatest challenge in the traditional skin segmentation is false positive rate and overlapping of skin pixels and non- skin pixels. This paper presents a novel skin feature learning algorithm based on Stacked Auto Encoders(SAEs). Instead of predicting each pixels individually, we utilize block of pixels for skin segmentation to avoid overlapping of skin pixels and non-skin pixels. The algorithm exploits the learning ability of deep neural networks to learn high-level representations of skin tones. Read More...

Seismic Analysis of Substructure Irregularity of Reinforced Concrete Girder Bridges with Solid and Hollow Pier Sections
-Ankit Garg ; Preeti Kuhar
A large portion of modern infrastructure involves the construction of irregular shapes of structures. In the design of bridges this is a considerable problem to provide substructure irregularity in the structure. In this report we are using Csi Bridge 2016 for performing non-linear pushover seismic analysis of substructure irregularity with solid and hollow pier sections. We perform design of the structure and their numerical analysis where we get shear and displacement values for different aspect ratio. The results obtained from the analysis shows that the vernability of the structure due to base shear goes on increasing as increasing the substructure irregularity for both solid and hollow pier section. As the substructure irregularity increased there will be a decrement in displacement capacity of the bridge structure for both solid and hollow pier section. Therefore we can say that the performance of hollow pier sections are much better than the solid pier section in case of substructure irregularity and could be a better option as compare to solid piers. -M. Kundalakesi ; S. Meghala; S. Vidhiyalakshmi
The Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network, or VANET, is a technology that uses and moves cars as nodes in a network to create a mobile network. VANET is a special form of MANET (mobile ad hoc network). VANET makes every involving car into a wireless router or node, allowing cars approximately 100 to 300 metres of each other to connect and, in turn, create a network with a wide range. Mechanism used to protect privacy requires two key ingredients: 1. a precise definition of privacy that reflects citizens' concern and perceptions, and 2. an upstanding of the type of attacks in VANETs. VANET introduces more challenges aspects as compare to MANET because of high mobility of nodes and fast topology changes in VANET. It covers applications, privacy and characteristics prevailing in VANETs. Read More...

Composites are the most important materials in transportation and automotive sector. In the present work the composites were prepared by bus body building method known as hand layup technique. Using this technique the polymers namely epoxy resin and polyester resin were applied seperately on chopped strand matt powdered type glass fibres and compared. Sandwich laminate panels were prepared and investigated the nature of moisture absorbance on 60 days. The properties were found to be higher in moisture absorbance for polyester resin compared to epoxy resin. The elimination of resin accessories such as gelcoat, pva, wax, accelerator in epoxy resin, improved in proportion and percentage of epoxy resin with hardener as (90:10) and 70%, glass fiber consumption of 30%, and at last the standard fixed ratio of 1:1.50:2 for 450:300:225 category of three different combined stack grades of chopped strand matt powdered type glass fibre were the only reasons for the less moisture absorbance of epoxy resin than polyester resin in these observations. Comparative Study of R.C.C and Steel G+30 Story Building
-Ankur P. Patil ; Akanksha M. Jadhav
Low rise buildings were generally selected in India as common option but now a days in India population is rapidly increasing and due to that the requirement of construction of medium and high rise buildings is also increasing. But for medium and high rise buildings this type of structures are no longer economical because of hazardous form work, less stiffness, span restriction, and increased dead load. Steel structure can be suitable in that case. In present study RCC and steel structures are considered for comparative study of G+30 story commercial building. For modeling and analysis of RCC and steel structures, ETABS software is used and the results are compared. And it is found that total weight of steel structure is comparatively less than RCC structure. The base shear in both direction for steel structure is less with respect to RCC structure. The values of story displacements are within permissible limit. Steel structure gives more ductility to structure as compared to RCC. Read More...

-Deepa. R ; Narendran. P
The segmentation, detection, and extraction of infected tumor area from magnetic resonance (MR) images are a primary concern but a tedious and time taking task performed by radiologists or clinical experts, and their accuracy depends on their experience only. So, the use of computer aided technology becomes very necessary to overcome these limitations. In this study, to improve the performance and reduce the complexity involves in the medical image segmentation process, we have investigated Berkeley wavelet transformation (BWT) based brain tumor segmentation. Furthermore, to improve the accuracy and quality rate of the support vector machine (SVM) based classifier, relevant features are extracted from each segmented tissue. The experimental results of proposed technique have been evaluated and validated for performance and quality analysis on magnetic resonance brain images, based on accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and dice similarity index coefficient. The experimental results achieved 96.51% accuracy, 94.2% specificity, and 97.72% sensitivity, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed technique for identifying normal and abnormal tissues from brain MR images. The experimental results also obtained an average of 0.82 dice similarity index coefficient, which indicates better overlap between the automated (machines) extracted tumor region with manually extracted tumor region by radiologists. The simulation results prove the significance in terms of quality parameters and accuracy in comparison to state-of-the-art techniques. Read More...

Design and Development of Metallographic Processing Laboratory Setup
-Rathod Avinash Suresh ; Rathod Rahul K.; Kamale Vitthal C.; Jagale Johnson J.; Avanti Nikhil M.
Metal polishing is an extremely ancient technology that has long been used to make beautiful objects art as well as utilitarian objects. However, within the context of modern microelectronics it is a much more narrowly defined technology that is invariably used to fabricate "damascene" structures. The origin of this terminology is obscure, however for integrated circuit fabrication damascene means microscopic, inlaid metal features that serve as "wiring" to connect individual electronic components, e.g., transistors, previously formed in an underlying semiconductor substrate (usually a single crystal silicon wafer). Of course, the overall objective is fabrication of functional devices such as microprocessors or memories. Naturally, to serve this purpose metal wiring must be inlaid in some insulating material (typically silica based glass) with appropriate provision made for interconnections between wires and the substrate and between the wires themselves. Analysis of a High-Rise Building (Symmetrical & Unsymmetrical) with Shear Walls under Dynamic Loads using STAAD.PRO
-Murlidhar Chourasia ; Rahul Kumar Sathbhaiya
Now a day's population of our country is increasing very rapidly, therefore to settle this vast Increment in population we need to construct tall structures which can face high displacement and drift due to lateral forces. To counteract such situations in our country in this dissertation, I have considered a high-rise building with shear walls under effect of seismic forces as per Indian Standards code 1893-2002 part-1 and wind speed 39 m/s as per 875 part-III, considering shear wall effect to prepare a comparative study on a live project located at school of Planning & Architecture in Bhori Bhopal M.P. Shear walls are the most commonly used lateral load resisting systems in multi-story buildings. Shear walls have very high stiffness and lateral strength, which is used to resist very large lateral loads besides support gravity loads, making it quite Advantageous in many structural engineering applications. In this study, I have mainly emphasized the structural behavior of High-rise building with shear walls (symmetric and unsymmetric) frame for the effect of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional structure of G+6 tall structure under the effect of seismic zone II & medium type of soil condition. Modelling and analysis is done using STAAD.PRO software. Assuming material property is linear static. To compare the results modelled shear wall with 2-D AND 3-D models of various useful parameters such as lateral displacement, inter- storey drift, natural time period, base shear, torsion, resisting moment and obtained most effective position of RC shear wall on considered models. From the results it's concluded that 2-D model shows least displacement and Storey drift values whereas resisting moment and base shear are maximum. Read More...

Study on Partial Replacement of Coarse Aggregate with Coconut Shells
-Darshan M K ; Moksshitha Shri; Mandanna B P; Amaresh; Mallesh Bhajantri
Concrete is made up of cement, fine aggregates, coarse aggregate, water and admixtures if necessary. Aggregate is one of the main ingredients in producing concrete covering up to 75% of total concrete mix. High cost is the dominating factor of conventional construction material which is affecting the housing system. Thus to overcome this drawback, it is necessary to make research on an alternative material which reduces the cost. Thus waste coconut shell may be used to replace conventional coarse aggregate. Coconut shell which is abundantly available as agricultural waste from coconut industries poses a serious disposal problem. Hence using these coconut shells will have the double advantage of reduction in the cost of construction material and also as a means of disposal of wastes. Experimental investigation were carried out by preparing concrete blocks of 150mm*150mm*150mm and compressive strength tests were conducted on these blocks by replacing coarse aggregates in concrete mixes by 0%, 10%, 20% and 30% with coconut shells. From the experimental investigation it was found that coconut shells can be used as an alternative in concrete mixes by adjusting the water cement ratio and admixture contents of the mix. CNG Storage Tank to Minimize the Filling Time of CNG into a Storage Tank
-Jaydip Baria ; Gaurang Parmar; Rakesh Gohil; Vijay Makwana
Now a day, most of the vehicles are running on CNG storage system. The natural gas is also economical and efficient. In CNG storage system, sometime it happens that if there is a low pressure at the fuel station and high pressure is required in storage tank. Thus, it will consume more time from fuel station to tank. So, i will going to design the storage tank as per the requirement which can fill storage tank with low pressure too with cascade connection system. At compressed natural gas refilling station, CNG must be stored in storage system in order to make utilization and usefulness of the refilling station more efficient. There are two types of storage system buffer and cascade. In this research there are different material used for CNG tank and by this analysis for finding which material is best suitable for better designing of CNG tank. In designing i will reduce the pressure inside storage tank for that i will going to make partition in CNG storage tank so that the pressure inside the tank will reduce and also install the control valves system for maintaining required pressure. This will help to increase the fueling rate as well as reduce the time required for filling process. Also i will use the cascade cylinder for refuelling the high compressed gas in small cylinder without use of compressor. Read More...

Dynamic Analysis of Cracked Composite Plate for Different Boundary Conditions
-Anuj Kumar ; Prof. Vinay Kumar Singh Chandrakar; Prof. Praveen Singh Tomar
Composite materials are widely used in different areas such as aircraft, naval and automobiles. Main motive behind that is the distinctive property of weight reduction, which is important for greater speeds, improved payloads and efficient fuel consumption. Various damages like cracks or delaminating are inevitable during service period. They may be due to impact load, chemical decay or change in temperature or pressure conditions. It has been experimentally proved that confined damage in a structure causes the reduction in local structural stiffness, resulting in deviations in dynamic performance of the structure. Additional resonance or crack proliferation induce large displacements resulting in the failure of the structure. In this study, efforts have been made to determine the natural frequency of vibration of composite plate in different boundary conditions and the multiple parameters of crack have been varied and the results have been established. The tests on composite plate is done experimentally to find natural frequency using FFT analyzer and the results are validated using ANSYS. The work is done with varying crack parameters like depth, length and orientation. The frequency decreases with increase in crack dimensions and decreases with increasing orientations. For different boundary conditions, frequency increases with decreasing degrees of freedom. This will help in designing structures resistant to earthquakes and other disasters, given that the resonance frequency is known earlier. It will help in building a safe structure and will prolong its life for many years. Read More...

-C. S. Manju ; S. Priyanka; V. Sruthi; K. Venkatesan; R. Vishnu Priya
A satellite image is used for analyzing what is happening around the world, but these images are often corrupted by different noises during acquisition and transmission. The main objective of noise reduction technique is to reduce the noise without degrading important features in the images. The conventional denoising methods can reduce the Gaussian noise but fails to maintain the quality of the images and blurs the edges in an image. To overcome these drawbacks an optimized adaptive thresholding function based framework for edge preserved satellite image denoising using Hybrid cuckoo search and grey-wolf algorithm which is capable of effectively removing Gaussian noise from the images without over smoothening the edge details. Analysing the Effect of Coconut Oil based Cutting Fluid for Turning Operation of EN19 Steel on CNC Lathe
-Dhyan Soni ; Prof. Navneetsinh Yadav; Prof. Ronak Raval
The cutting fluids are responsible for reducing heat at tool work interface, reducing the cutting force, easy chip removal, high material removal rate (MRR), lubrication improvement between tool and work piece and thereby increasing the surface finish. Good lubricating capacity, less viscosity, better heat removal rate, high heat conductivity and specific heat are the desired flow and heat transfer parameters of cutting fluids. The development of lubricants like cutting fluids traditionally has mineral oil as base fluid. This fact is related to the technical properties and the reasonable price of mineral oils. Issues of using fluids in machining related to health, environment, and manufacturing cost that need to be solved and options to reduce their use has to be developed. Hence there arises the need for an ecologically benign metal working fluid in machining operations. In this work a coconut oil based cutting fluid is developed with different concentration of oil and water. Different properties of these fluids are also found out. A comparative study of using Coconut oil based fluids and Mineral oil based fluid were conducted by taking stainless steel as workpiece material on a conventional lathe. Read More...

-Pankti Dalal ; Timsi Modi; Kujal Divakar; Karishma Patel
Human society always tries to elaborate itself towards the progress. During this journey, human needs to mitigate the Industrialization problems as well as the Environmental issues. The handling and management of wastewater generated in industries is the major problem. The wastewater contains different types of pollutants and it is important to remove the same from the wastewater before disposing it. We are focusing on the removal of Total Dissolve Solids from wastewater through Electro-coagulation Process. Electrocoagulation is a surface reaction. It is the process of passing electric current through a waste water, using anode and cathode. In this experiment iron and aluminium electrodes are used and the sample is made up to run at different intervals of time i.e., 5, 10,15 and 20 minutes and different range of amperes of current is passed in the sample i.e., 0.12 A, 0.25A, 0.36A. The combination effects of current, pH and treatment time to the efficiency of the electrocoagulation process for the removal of Total Dissolved Solids, pH, Color, chlorides etc, from the industrial effluent showed that only current(C) and treatment time (t) have correlation with each other. It concluded that the batch which is operated at 0.25A for 20 minutes has maximum removal efficiency of Total Dissolved Solids, pH, Color, chlorides, COD etc. Read More...

-Amsaveni. J ; Malarvizhi. D; Aishwarya. G; Cithara. S; Nishitha. R
It is possible to create a computer which can interact with us as we interact each other. For example imagine in a fine morning you walk to your computer room and then it tells you Hey friend Good Morning you seem to be in a bad mood today. It seems to be a fiction but it will be the life lead by BLUE EYES in very near future. The basic idea behind this technology is to give the human power. We all have some perceptual abilities. If we add such these abilities to a computer would enable computers to work together with human being as ultimate partner's fraud. Malware is also detected before the time of downloading. Comparison of Shear Strength Parameters of Well Graded and Poorly Graded Sand with Percentage Fines Replaced with Percentage Kaolin
-Foram P. Savaliya ; P. J. Mehta
Shearing resistance of soil is very important while designing various structures which have direct contact with soil, for example, sheet piles, retaining walls and shallow foundations. Also, materials forming part of rock fill dams, glacial tills, mudflows, debris flows, soli fluctuation sheets, residual and colluvial soil deposits have a distinct structure, consisting of a mixture of large particles (gravel or hard clay fragments) and a soft matrix of clay. Mainly the foundation structures are designed with the consideration that it would be resting either on pure sand or clay bed, but on contrary to this stratified soil deposits pertain in the actual field, this makes the study of shear strength of made up soils an important factor to be evaluated. For the purpose of evaluating the same, the present research aims to study the shear strength parameters of well graded and poorly graded sand compacted at maximum dry density under varying degree of saturation as 0%, 50%, 75% and 100% with and without percentage fines (i.e. soil particles passing 75µ IS sieve) replaced by equivalent percentage of kaolin. For fulfilling the agenda of present study total 36 numbers of direct box shear test were performed. Direct box shear test was commenced taking Indian Standards as reference. Results depicted that as degree of saturation increased the angle of internal fiction and cohesion decreased in both the condition i.e. with and without replacement of percentage fines with percentage kaolin. A Sentiment Analysis on Twitter Data
-Vaishnavi Charde ; Tejeswy Chimnekar; Shital Badole; Shubhangi Ghadinkar; Prof. B. Kumbhare
Sentiment analysis is a broad research area in academic as well as business field. The term sentiment refers to the feelings or opinion of the person towards some particular domain. Hence it is also known as opinion mining. It can be expressed in terms of polarity, reviews or previously by thumbs up and down to denote positive and negative sentiments respectively. Sentiments can be analyzed using NLP, statistics or machine learning techniques. Sentiment analysis may ask questions regarding “customer satisfaction and dissatisfaction, “public opinion towards new iPhone series launched†etc. In real world, public or consumer opinions about some product or brand are very important for its sell. Hence sentiment analysis is a very important research area for real life applications i.e. decision making. For this purpose, the methodology we use is as follows: access the twitter API to extract the tweets about elections. The extracted tweets are then processed so as to convert all letters in the lower case, to special characters etc. which would make the further tasks more efficient. We classify these processed tweets using a supervised classification approach. The classifier used is Naïve Bayes Classifier to classify the tweets as positive, negative or neutral. The classifier is trained using tweets which bear a distinctive polarity. The result can be used further to gain an insight into the views of the people using twitter about a particular topic that is being searched by the user. It can help corporate houses to devise strategies on the basis of the popularity of their product among the masses. It may help the consumers to make informed choices based on the general sentiment expressed by the Twitter users on a product. Read More...

A little confused about which way you want to take your career path? Some people know what job they want to pursue from their childhood but others prefer to explore their choices. Whichever you chose it's a good idea to have a plan of what you'd like to do after high school. We had a difficult time choosing a career path in college, and when people heard that we didn't know what we wanted to do for a living, they would give me advice. Some would say, "What would you do if you didn't have to worry about money? Turn that into your career." Others would say, "Pursue a career where you can make the most money from the least amount of work". While both of these statements have value, there is a more thorough way to choose a career based on your passions, values, and abilities. We have a made a app: This app help us finding the interest for our carrier path using data mining. Read More...
