Failure Investigation of Badminton Racket using Modal Analysis
-Dr. J. S. Gawande ; S S Pachpore; S S Kale
From its humble beginnings in wood to its current slim geometry in high quality light weight carbon fiber composites, improvements in the badminton racket have largely been due to material advancements. The link between design and performance remains relatively poorly understood. Current rackets are designed heuristically, based on experience of the manufacturer and the player. The objective of this research is to add a scientific perspective to the design of badminton rackets, by studying the underlying physics of the game. The design of a badminton racket requires an understanding of the player, the racket, and how they interact in generating a stroke. The dynamics of the stroke can be used to assess their performance. Performance can be characterized in terms of power and control, which can respectively be quantified by the shuttlecock speed and the consistency of the stroke. Since the stroke involves both rigid-body and flexible-body dynamics of the racket it can be characterized by several stroke parameters such as racket head speed at impact from the rigid-body motion, and elastic deflection and elastic velocity at impact from the deformation behavior. This study based of the finite element method, a computer simulation method, to analysis the dynamic property of racket and string. Three-dimensional model was created Creo according to the geometry of a Yonex made graphite Badminton racket. Using ANSYS is done to calculate the modal frequency and shape; the results are to be obtained for determination of the failure in the badminton racket frame. Read More...

An Efficient Collaborative Filtering using New User Similarity Measure for Recommendation
-Priya Agrawal ; Tejas Kadiya; Ramesh Prajapati
Collaborative filtering has become one of the most used approaches to provide personalize services for users. The key of this approach is to find similar users or items using user-item rating matrix so that the system can show recommendations for user. However, most approaches related to this approach are based on similarity algorithms and this algorithm focus on only user item rating similarity calculation. These methods are not much effective, especially when the user rating data is extremely sparse and when only few ratings are available. To solve this problem research, propose an approach to compute the user similarity with the type of user-rating item. Research improved collaborative filtering algorithm based on user similarity combination, which combines the user similarity based on user-rating item and the user similarity based on the types of user-rating items. Research has also enhanced user-rating item similarity with new hybrid similarity. Experiments on classic MovieLens datasets are implemented. The result shows the superiority of the collaborative filtering approach in recommended performance. Read More...

Rural Groundwater Treatment using Agricultural Waste Material
-Dr. C. G. Hemamalini
Groundwater plays a major source of water for agriculture as well as for domestic purpose in rural areas. Rapid industrialization and unplanned discharge of effluents made the natural resource groundwater as unsafe. One of the affected area is Ambur sub basin, a part of Palar river basin, Tamil Nadu, India, severely contaminated by uncontrolled disposal of treated and untreated tannery effluents. The problem may be universal and it should be tackled by no doubt no to disposal of liquid waste into land and surface water. But still the groundwater is under polluted condition by the past actions and there is no other water source for agriculture, groundwater need to be treated. There should be the affordable treatment methods for rural areas to minimize the treatment cost. The readily available agricultural waste material such as sugarcane bagasse may be utilized as filter media to treat the groundwater. In this study, different forms of sugarcane bagasse were used as filter media and developed the filters for treating the groundwater contaminated by total dissolved solids (TDS). The results revealed the reduction of TDS by adsorption. Further study will lead to the development of water treatment kit using the above said materials for rural areas. Read More...

The cold formed steel section vastly used as secondary member. In this paper focused on it is used as primary compression member. Cold-formed steel sections are usually formed in channel sections, Z-sections, hat sections, angle sections and other sections due to the manufacture process, and these sections are categorized as open sections. These sections can be also formed by connecting two or more sections together, for examples, an I-section formed by connecting two channel sections back-to-back, and a box section formed by connecting two channel sections in the flanges. Thickness of the section is 2.5mm and length is 800mm. These sections may fail by local buckling due to their short length. However, cold-formed steel sections can be strengthened by forming edge and web stiffeners in the I-shaped sections. Moreover providing spacing 25mm between two channels. Ultimate load is predicted from ABAQUS then it is compared with experimental result. Therefore, the focus of this study is to investigate the cold-formed steel I-shaped open sections with edge and web stiffeners. Read More...

With ever-advancing technology, cold-formed members are being fabricated with higher yield stress materials. With the use of higher-strength steels comes a reduction in thickness, which leads to the development of highly stiffened sections with more folds and stiffener noted that there would be a strong interest for the application of cold-formed framing systems in residential and low-rise buildings. These sections may fail by local and/or distortional buckling due to their plate width-to-thickness ratio. However, cold-formed steel sections can be strengthened by forming edge and web stiffeners in the sections as well as using I-shaped sections. Therefore, the focus of this study is to investigate the cold-formed steel I-shaped open sections with edge and web stiffeners. Read More...

Usage of Crystal ball tool to run PPM Models - As Planning and Quality Tool for Agile-Scrum Development Projects
-Sanjay Phatige ; Sreenivasa T.N.
Process Performance Models (PPM) are used to improve the consistency of interpretation of CMMI (Capability Maturity Model – Integration) quality process for high maturity and capability. Process-performance models provide insight into the effect of process changes on process capability and performance. PPM models also can be used to predict performance of process changes, thus, facilitating cost benefit analysis. Agile development process is an iterative, incremental method of managing the design and build activities of engineering. The Agile development seeks alternatives to traditional project management. Agile approaches help teams respond to unpredictability or changes through incremental, iterative work cadences and empirical feedback. In the present analysis, an attempt was made to analyze certainty of achieving Sprint Planning goals of agile development projects using the PPM models. Crystal ball tool was used to run the PPM model for predicting certainty of achieving sprint planning effort during the initial sprint (during sprint planning). If the certainty is achieved greater or equal to 80%, then possibility of achieving sprint planning effort within the limit set (capacity planning for effort) in the sprint planning is higher. This model also can be used for prediction of Quality (i,e Defect Density) for sprint testing defects and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) defects. Read More...

Design and Numerical Simulation of Toy Car Compression Plate Core and Cavity
-I.Elamaran ; S.Vetrivel; R.Gnanasekaran
Injection molded parts have an almost limitless amount of flexibility, no matter what the size of the produced parts. Because injection molds are subjected to extremely high pressures, the plastic within the molds is pressed tighter that other molding processes. Also because of Computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM), it is possible to include minute details and complex designs into the part’s design and to experience extremely tight tolerances as low as .001 in or more, depending on the type of plastic used. While it takes a while to setup a machine – once the injection molds have been designed to specification and the presses have been programmed, the actual molding process is very fast compared to other molding methods. The plastic injection molding process can mass produce parts, all from a a single mold. The high production output rate of plastic injection molding allows it to be more cost effective and efficient. How fast can each part be made? It depend on how many impressions (part molds) are in the tool, but typically cycle times can run between 15 and 30 seconds. The main objective of this project is to avoided Environmental effects and Identify Defects. Our Project Deal with design of toy car compression plate core and cavity. we are Using Cast Iron Material. Aim of the Project is to reduce the stress, strain, total Deformation, Temperature and increase the Life time of materials (core and cavity). We are using cast Iron materials. The main objective of the project is to Analyze and Design of Hostel Building for 500 student’s capacity considering Gravity Loads (Dead and Live Loads) using STAAD-Pro. The foremost basic in structural engineering is the design of simple basic component and members of a building such as Slabs, Beams, Columns, staircases and Footings. The first step is to obtain the plan of the building. Then depending upon the area of the plot and demand for the size of the rooms number of columns are fixed up accordingly. Then the layouts of beams are prepared. Thereafter, the loads are calculated namely the dead loads and live loads. Once the loads are obtained, the component that takes the load first i.e. the slabs is designed depending upon the end conditions and the loading. From the slabs, the load is transferred to the beams. Thereafter, the loads from the beams are taken by the columns. For designing columns, it is necessary to know the moments they are subjected to. For this purpose, frame analysis is done using Staad-Pro. Read More...

Mathematical Modeling And Simulation Of Cryo-Probe For Tumor Removal Surgery (Cryo Surgery)
-Deep P. Jani ; Prof. H.A.Shukla
Cancer is a dangerous disease accounting for the highest number of deaths by a single cause all over the world. There are several ways to treat cancerous cells are available and new ways are regularly being proposed. Cryosurgery is one of them and offers many advantages. Cryosurgery is the destruction of undesired biological tissues by freezing. For remove of undesired biological tissue i.e. tumor modern cryosurgery is frequently performed as a simply persistent procedure, in which multiple, hypodermic needle-shaped cryoprobes are inserted into the target area to be treated. It causes freezing the tumor inside body below its critical temperature and forming ice-ball, so tumor being inactive and removed from the body. To use this technique effectively the rate of cooling and extent of cooling needs to be controlled. It helps in achieving total destruction of tumor and minimum harm to adjoining healthy tissue. The aim of the cryosurgeon is to place the cryoprobes so as to maximize cryoinjury within the target region, while minimizing damage to healthy surrounding tissue. The quality of the cryoprobe arrangement, which has a direct impact on the success of the procedure, is dependent upon the cryosurgeon's own skill and experience. From a mathematical point of view, the problem is to predict the time-evolving position of freezing or melting position where phase change occurs. At the same time, the temperature is computed everywhere in the computational domain giving access to the complete thermal history. Bio-heat equation can be solved by using one of various simulation techniques for a single or multi-probes. Simulated results greatly match with the experimental outputs. Thus, the model used can be extrapolated to study the effects of different freezing rates. Read More...

In general practice, hospitals perform several operations which are considered as therapeutic condition for the patients. For such cases, anesthesia is a significant drug that would be infused to the patient which makes them in anaesthetized condition. If the surgery lasts for prolonged period of time, it becomes unfeasible to deliver the drug at a single stroke. Critical condition occurs, if there is excess of drug given to the patients, also when fewer amount of drug is delivered, the patient will become conscious at the middle of the surgery. Even if anesthetist fails to administer the drug to the patient, the procedure becomes tedious. In order to overcome these problems, the automatic anesthesia injector is implemented using microcontroller by receiving the signal from the keypad that customizes the working of stepper motor. After which it directs the drug to the infusion pump at one ml to the patient. If any uncertain condition occurs, the alarm will ON. Read More...

Wireless sensing element networks (WSNs) are getting more and more advanced with the growing network scale and also the dynamic nature of wireless communications. Several measure and diagnostic approaches rely upon per-packet routing methods for correct and fine-grained analysis of the advanced network behaviors. During this paper, we tend to propose iPath, a unique path logical thinking approach to reconstructing the per-packet routing methods in dynamic and large-scale networks. The essential plan of iPath is to take advantage of high path similarity to iteratively infer long methods from short ones. iPath starts with associate degree initial notable set of methods and performs path logical thinking iteratively. iPath includes a unique style of a light-weight hash operate for verification of the inferred methods. so as to more improve the logical thinking capability likewise because the execution potency, iPath includes a quick bootstrapping algorithmic program to reconstruct the initial set of methods. We tend to additionally implement iPath and judge its performance exploitation traces from large-scale WSN deployments likewise as in depth simulations. Results show that iPath achieves a lot of higher reconstruction ratios underneath totally different network settings compared to alternative progressive approaches. Read More...

-S. N. Salunkhe ; A. V. Chavan; R. P. Choudhar; U. S. Lathor
The rising of mobile social networks opens opportunities for infectious agent selling. However, before absolutely utilizing mobile social networks as a platform for infectious agent selling, several challenges have to be compelled to be addressed. during this paper, we have a tendency to address the matter of distinguishing a little variety of people through whom the knowledge will be subtle to the network as presently as potential, spoken because the diffusion reduction downside. Diffusion reduction beneath the probabilistic diffusion model will be developed as AN uneven k- centre downside that is NP-hard, and also the best best-known approximation algorithmic rule for the uneven k-centre downside has approximation quantitative relation of log n and time complexness O(n5). Clearly, the performance and also the time complexness of the approximation algorithmic rule don't seem to be satiable in large-scale mobile social networks. To subsume this downside, we have a tendency to propose a community primarily based algorithmic rule and a distributed set-cover algorithmic rule. The performance of the planned algorithms is evaluated by in depth experiments on each artificial networks and a true trace. The results show that the community primarily based algorithmic rule has the simplest performance in both synthetic networks and there altrace compared to existing algorithms, and also the distributed set-cover algorithmic rule out performs the approximation algorithmic rule within the real trace in terms of diffusion time. Analysis on Smart Removal of Redundant Data Using Progressive Techniques
-K. D. Mane ; M. H. More; V. B. Bansode; P. S. Gavade
Data are among the most important assets of a company. but due to data changes and sloppy data entry, errors such as duplicate entries might occur, making data clean sing and in particular duplicate detection indispensable. However, the poor size of today’s data sets renders duplicate detection processes expensive. Online retailers, fore.g., offer hug catalogs comprising a constantly growing set of items from many different suppliers. As independent persons change the product portfolio, duplicate rise. Although there is an obvious need for de-duplication. Progressive duplicate detection identiï¬es most duplicate pairs early in the detection process. Instead of reducing the overall time needed to ï¬nish the entire process, progressive approaches try to reduce the average time after which a duplicate is found .early termination, in particular, then yields more complete results on a progressive algorithm than on any traditional approach. A compression based morphing and scaling framework is proposed to make full use of this differently image. In recent years, the development and demand of multimedia product grows increasingly fast, contributing to in sufficient bandwidth of network and storage of memory device. Therefore, the theory of data compression becomes more and more significant for reducing the data redundancy to save more hardware space and transmission bandwidth. In computer science and information theory, data compression or source coding is the process of encoding information using fewer bits or other information-bearing units than an un encoded representation. Compression is useful because it helps reduce the consumption of expensive resources such as hard disk space or transmission bandwidth. Commercial implementation may have something adaptive algorithm. Interpolate the coordinates of the end points of every pair of lines. Each of the source images has to be deformed towards the needed frame. The deformation works pixel by pixel is based on the reverse mapping. This algorithm is Beyer-Neely Algorithm. Read More...

Many industrial application where round bar or square bar are required to be operated on a different machine to make machine components such as the shaft, bolts, screws etc. and also in wooden industries to cut the wooden piece for a different domestic application. This needs more and more number of pieces to be cut for mass production of the components. To achieve this goal we design and develop 4-way hacksaw machine which is able to cut 4 pieces (may be of same or different materials) simultaneously with a very less time consumption. Also, this model deals with modification and development of shaper machine. In conventional shaping machine, the cutting action is performed but the tool only in forward direction and return stroke is idle. This attachment is developed for to get cutting in return stroke as well as cutting in forward stroke. This attachment is also increased productivity and help in many industries due to its reliability, efficiency, compact in size and compatibility. So, the objective of this project is to save manpower and time for cutting metal and shaping in order to achieve high productivity. Read More...

Wearable Epilepsy Monitor for Seizure Detection and Transfer of Data using GSM Module
-Dr. M. C. Jobin Christ ; J. Ashwini; B. Durga Lakshmi; Sonali Banerjee
Epilepsy is a chronic disorder in which nerve cell activity in the brain is disturbed, causing recurrent seizures. More than 1 million people in India are affected by epilepsy. During a seizure, a person experiences abnormal behavior, symptoms and sensations, sometimes including loss of consciousness. Therefore in the event of the seizure, a person’s life is controlled by the seizure rather than the person himself. And hence a system which allows continuous monitoring of epileptic patients is essential. Current technologies that exist for seizure detection are EEG and vibration sensors but these can only be used for real time seizure detection in a hospital setting and can also miss more than 80% of non-convulsive seizures. A real time wearable, multi-sensor device which is helpful in detecting seizure in out-patients is developed using stretch sensor and accelerometer. The location of the patient is accessed using Global Positioning System (GPS). The data thus collected is transferred to the caregivers using Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) module.
