Advance Energy Aware Geographic Routing Protocol in MANET
-Abhishek Shahi ; Ravindra Gupta
Mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) consist of small nodes with sensing, computation, and wireless communications capabilities. Many routing, power management, and data dissemination protocols have been specially designed for WSNs. The focus has been given to the routing protocols which might differ depending on the application and network architecture. In this paper, we propose and efficient data forwarding protocol called Advance Energy Aware Geographic Routing Protocol (Advance EAGRP) for wireless sensor networks to extend the life time of the network. In Advance EAGRP, both position information and energy are available at nodes used to route packets from sources to destination. This will prolong the lifetime of the sensor nodes; hence the network life time and thus get higher packet delivery ratio and minimal compromise of energy efficiency. The proposed protocol is an efficient and energy conservative routing technique for multi-hop wireless sensor networks. The routing design of Advance EAGRP is based on two parameters: location and energy levels of nodes. Each node knows the location and energy level of its neighbors. The performance measures have been analyzed with variable number of nodes. Our simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm gives better performance in terms of higher packet delivery ratio, delay, and energy consumption. Read More...

Peak Power Management and Storage using Power Electronics
-Pallavi ; Mrs. Shwetha
This paper exhibit the functionality of a Peak Power Management (PPM) and Storage using Power Electronics. The PPM includes batteries and a digitally controlled single phase voltage source inverter (VSI) which can be inhibited as a current source or a voltage source depending on the prominence of the AC grid and the user’s predilection. The PPM guarantees that the critical loads are powered when the AC grid fails; in which case the VSI is controlled as a voltage source. It also accomplishes peak power control by supplying battery power to the local loads while they are powered by the AC grid if the loads get large. The electricity cost savings proficient by peak shaving are estimated. The PPM functionality is established by experimental dimensions on a laboratory prototype. The control architecture and logic embedded in the PPM are discussed in detail. Read More...

Replacement of Copper Slag Used as Abrasive Blasting Media in Ship Building and Ship Repair Industry
-Ajosh P K ; Dr. Nihal Anwar Siddiqui
Blasting process, one of the surface preparation method in ship building and ship repair industries is marked as the major significant sources in generation of waste; because it is mandatory process for the surface preparation before painting process in shipbuilding or for the removal of the old paint including primer coating from the surface of steel in ship repair. During the copper slag blasting operation environment in the vicinity of the working areas are polluted by fine dust of the abrasive material which is used, paint, metal chips and with toxic metals. Most of the Ship building and Ship repair industries had started replacing copper slag as abrasive media to environment friendly media. Therefore, replacement of conventional production methods i.e. blasting using copper slag grit with less contaminating, environmentally safe and alternative processes which do not or have less affect on human health and environment is essential. In this work, harmful effects of abrasive-blasting materials like copper slag grit, iron shots used for surface preparation are investigated by considering the impact effectiveness of the material on human being and environment. The results of is outcome bearing in mind the blasting efficiency, cost and pollution caused by the blasting media. The reason of alternating the present blasting material is to decrease amount of waste and pollution. Read More...

-Ashish Jacob ; Christoperdavidson. T; M. Deva; Kaviarasu. N; V. Guhan
the conversion of a human process to the automation plays an important role on the product as well as the growth of the company. Our project is one of the example for the automation of an industry. The low-cost automation for industrial paint booth is the project that we have done to reduce the Labour cost of painting process in the industry. As we all know that the painting process is very harmful to every living being. So, we have planned to convert the industrial paint booth in Rane (Madras) into an automated painting with low cost. In this project, we are using some simple mechanism and PLC control to complete the painting process. The reason for the word low cost is that the overall setup price is very lower than industrial arm robot with 2-axis. There is one pivoted mechanism as used to paint the top and bottom side of the product. The spray gun is fixed at the pivoted plate and the overall control of the servomotor as well as the paint gun is controlled by the PLC timer control. The sensors are engaged for giving input to the PLC and accordance with the given input only the servo motors and the spray gun are working. Read More...

Image Description Notes with LSB Encoding in Steganography Technique
-Nisha ; Dr. Rajeev Yadav
Steganography is a most powerful technique in which hide the information into existence information. The main objective of steganography is provide more security from an unauthorized access. It essence is to embed secret message within seemingly innocent carrier in such way that unauthorized parties are not aware of communication. Some of the techniques used in steganography are domain tools or simple system such as least significant bit (LSB) insertion and noise manipulation, and transform domain that involve manipulation algorithms and image transformation such as discrete cosine transformation and wavelet transforms. In this paper, there is technique in which Least Significant Bit is modified to hide the secret message or any information from third party. LSB encryption is used for hiding information in multimedia document. In this method each character of secret/embedding message including extra special character is turn into in ASCII code then each value is turned in 8 bit binary number. Each bit of each character is inserted in last LSB (Least significant bit) of each pixel of cover image. Only last bits of cover image will be altered soon, this method having an ability of yield a secret-embedded image that is totally equivalent from the original image by the human eyes. Read More...

Finite Element Analysis of Diesel Rickshaw Chassis to Optimize Weight
-Disha D. Vadariya ; Prof. Pranav Bhatt; Prof. Vipul M. Patel
Chassis is the most important structural member in the On-Road vehicles. All the loads generated by other components of the vehicle are transferred to chassis only. So the chassis structure has to be strong enough to with stand the loads in static and dynamic conditions. In most of the On-Road vehicles the cross section of the chassis structure is uniform in spite of the variable loads. In order to overcome more failure in the chassis structure and ensure the safety, the variable section chassis structure has to be designed based on the variable loads along the length of the vehicle. Today, the cost, weight, noise, vibration and long life working are the important factors for designing of any chassis because all above factors effects on performance of chassis in different situation. In recent time, there are some composite materials developed and they also provide additional benefits like low cost, low noise, low vibration and low weight. Read More...

Thermal Analysis of Disc Brake
-Ashish Goswami ; Abhay Kakirde
A brake is a mechanical device which inhibits motion. Disc brake is a type of mechanical braking system. In most modern cars disc brakes are mounted on front wheels of the vehicle to stop vehicle instantly. The fluid from the master cylinder is forced into a caliper where it presses against a piston. The piston in turn squeezes two brake pads against the disc (rotor), which is attached to wheel, forcing it to slow down or stop. In a disc brake, the brake pads squeeze the rotor instead of the wheel, and the force is transmitted hydraulically instead of through a cable. In the present work the thermal analysis of brake is performed to look for the main areas where heat is dissipated at higher rates with respect to time i.e., transient thermal behavior and secondly a CFD analysis is carried out simultaneously to look after the hydraulic system involved for braking, its pressure ranges and effectiveness. Along with the virtual analysis an experimental setup is also prepared to get a more detailed performance characteristic of disc brake in an actual working environment. Read More...

Transient Thermal Analysis of Automotive Disc Brake
-Ashish Goswami ; Abhay Kakirde; Anand Pathak
A disc brake is an automobile component is used to suddenly stop or retard the motion of a vehicle in running condition. When the vehicle is in the running condition it has kinetic energy and by application of brake it stops, but as the energy cannot be destroyed it is going to be converted in some other form of energy and this energy is nothing but the heat energy which is produced due to rubbing surfaces of the brake and wheel base which is not desired and the heat must be dissipated quickly in surrounding. The present study is fully based on the heat flux generation and its dissipation rate in low and high speeds of a vehicle so that the failure condition can be obtained. The speed is varied from as low as 2.5 m/s to as high as 8m/s. The results are being plotted in form of graphs also to see the time based variation in heat dissipation rates. Read More...

Improved Eye Gaze Detection using Contour Technique
-Mrs. D. Punitha ; C. Sriram; R. Ganesh Kumar; R. Sharook
The main objective of this paper is to speed up the gaze point detection with reliable accuracy. Even though the accuracy level of gaze point detection is good in the existing tracking systems, it also includes some known limitations such as restricted head poses, poor eye blink ratio and the limited speed of eye detection. In this paper, we have also tried to improve and overcome the above stated problems by making use of the Local Contour Sequence technique during the iris detection process, which is invariant to translation and rotation of major head poses, various facial features and maintains the very minimal gaze error on continuous eye blink. Here, the initially detected face region is considered as a collection of pixels and from those contour pixels we need to distinguish the smooth and exact eye object from those lighter and darker background pixels. For this main use case, we made use of the local contour sequence in our program - which fastens the eye detection. Read More...

Captcha is a security mechanism that distinguishes human from malicious computer. Text based Captcha ask the user to identify distorted text. It brings complexity for the user to recognize the text. In order to overcome such difficulty Image based Captcha is developed. Image based Captcha has another type of Captcha such as Confident Captcha that asks the users to click on all images that gives a specific type of symbols such as cats or birds. Such kind of image based Captcha faces difficulty, since it could be easily identified by the unauthenticated user. The proposed system focus on providing authentication by using Occluded Image based Captcha. Occlusion is applied on images. Occlusion used is affine transformation. Affine transformation is used for providing complexity to user. Transformations such as Rotation, Translation, Scaling and Shearing will be applied to the images. Rotation is used for rotating the image to certain angle. Translation will translate the shape of an image. Shearing slants the shape of an image. Scaling will changes the size of an image. The user has to select the image during enrollment and the details will be stored into database. During login the user has to select the shuffled image that is selected in the enrollment. The selected image will be compared with database. If it matches, the user is authenticated. If the match is not detected, the user will not be authenticated. A Cluster Based Selective CSS Scheme for CR Network
-Mamjuda Hussain ; Pratyush Tripathi
Cognitive radio (CR) has been recently proposed as a promising technology to improve spectrum utilization by enabling secondary access to unused licensed bands. A prerequisite to this secondary access is having no interference to the primary system. This requirement makes spectrum sensing a key function in cognitive radio systems. Among common spectrum sensing techniques, energy detection is an engaging method due to its simplicity and efficiency. The growing demand of wireless applications has put a lot of constraints on the usage of available radio spectrum which is limited and precious resource. Cognitive radio is a promising technology which provides a novel way to improve utilization efficiency of available electromagnetic spectrum. In this paper, a cluster-based optimal selective CSS scheme is proposed for reducing reporting time and bandwidth while maintaining a certain level of sensing performance. Clusters are organized based on the identification of primary signal to-noise ratio value, and the cluster head in each cluster is dynamically chosen according to the sensing data qualities of CR users. The cluster sensing decision is made based on an optimal threshold for selective CSS which minimizes the probability of sensing error. A parallel reporting mechanism based on frequency division is proposed to considerably reduce the time for reporting decision to fusion center of clusters. In the fusion center, the optimal Chair-Vashney rule is utilized to obtain a high sensing performance based on the available cluster’s information. Read More...

A Novel Approach for Reduction of Protein in Dairy Effluent using Aerobic Treatment
-S. J. Gayathri ; K.Chandra Prabha
Water resources are importance to human beings. Dairy industries have shown tremendous growth in number and size in many countries of the world. These industries released wastewater which is characterized by biological oxygen demand, nutrients, high chemical oxygen demand, and organic and inorganic contents. Such wastewaters, if released without proper treatment, severely pollute receiving water bodies. Dairy waste water is released into the environment and is hazardous to human, flora and fauna. Poorly treated wastewater with large level of pollutants caused by operation, treatment systems or poor design creates environmental problems when released to the surface land or water. In most cases, these effluents are untreated and are simply thrown into rivers where they contribute to eutrophication by addition of nitrogen and phosphorus compounds. Various operations in a dairy industry may include pasteurization, milk powder, cream, cheese, etc. Considering the above stated implications an attempt has been made in the present project to evaluate one of the most effluent treatment plant for dairy waste. The present investigation was carried out for biodegradation of dairy effluent by using selected aerobic microbial treatment. The removal of organic matter and particles from wastewater is often achieved by coagulation. Coagulation-flocculation is one of the cost effective and simplest methods for industrial wastewater treatment to decrease the BOD, COD and turbidity content of the wastewater. Treating dairy effluents is of crucial importance not only for the environment, but also for the purpose of reusing water for industrial processes. Read More...

-Ms. Khanvilkar Sanchita S. ; Ms. Adagale Rajshri V.; Ms. Gawade Sonal S.
the field of robotics applications continues to advance. This dissertation addresses the computational challenges of robotic applications and translations of actions using sensors. One of the most challenging fields for robotics applications is pipeline-based applications which have become an indispensable part of life. Proactive monitoring and frequent inspections are critical in main training pipeline health. However, these tasks are highly expensive using traditional maintenance systems, knowing that pipeline systems can be largely deployed in an inaccessible and hazardous Environment. Thus, we propose a novel cost effective, scalable, customizable, an autonomous sensor-based robotic system, called SPRAM System (Sensor-based Autonomous Pipeline Monitoring Robotic System). It combines robot agent based technologies with sensing technologies for efficiently locating health related events and allows active and corrective monitoring and maintenance of the pipelines. Such distance measurement systems are available. These use various kinds of sensors and systems. Low cost and accuracy as well as speed is important in most of the applications. In this system, we describe such a measurement system which uses ultrasonic transmitter and receiver units mounted at a small distance between them. Ultrasonic sensors are also quite fast for most of the common applications. Read More...

Effects of Cement Kiln Dust on the Properties of Pervious Concrete
-Shagea Ali Ali Al-qawzai ; Prof. Smit Kacha
Pervious concrete is an ideal tool of sustainable development because of its environmental benefits. It composed of cement, course aggregate, water and admixtures. In this study, cement kiln dust (CKD) was used to replace. Six mixes were prepared by replacing of cement with 0%, 10 %, 20 %, 30%, 40%, and 50% of CKD. 0.36 W/C ratio and 10-20 mm size aggregate were used in this experimental investigation. Super-plasticizer admixture was used at constant quantity to ease the placing and handing of pervious concrete mixtures. The aim of proposed work was to assess the suitability of utilizing cement kiln dust (CKD) as partial replacement of cement in the production of pervious concrete to be used as paving materials. The effects of cement kiln dust (CKD) the properties of pervious concrete were investigated by conducting compressive strength test, split tensile strength test, permeability test, water absorption test and durability (sodium chloride solution) test,. Based on the experimental results, it was found that the compressive and split tensile strength increase when replacing the cement with 10% CKD. It was found that replacing the cement with CKD beyond 20% showed a gradual reduction in both compressive and split tensile strengths. Permeability coefficient also showed a gradual reduction in the results with the increment of CKD replacement. The water absorption results showed that replacing the cement with CKD increases the water absorption of pervious concrete. Durability % in terms of weight loss showed that % values of durability were increased when the cement is replaced with CKD. It was concluded that the cement kiln dust can be used to replace the cement up 50% but the effective replacement of these materials is up 20% with increased strength with a slight reduction on the permeability of pervious concrete. Hybrid ADE-BPNN Approach for Time Series Forecasting of Real Life Series Data
-Mrs. Jaya Singh ; MR. Pratyush Tripathi
Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) have the ability of learning and to adapt to new situations by recognizing patterns in previous data. Efficient time series forecasting is of utmost importance in order to make better decision under uncertainty. Over the past few years a large literature has evolved to forecast time series using different artificial neural network (ANN) models because of its several distinguishing characteristics. The back propagation neural network (BPNN) can easily fall into the local minimum point in time series forecasting. A hybrid approach that combines the adaptive differential evolution (ADE) algorithm with BPNN, called ADE–BPNN, is designed to improve the forecasting accuracy of BPNN. ADE is first applied to search for the global initial connection weights and thresholds of BPNN. Then, BPNN is employed to thoroughly search for the optimal weights and thresholds. Two comparative real-life series data sets are used to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the hybrid method. The proposed ADE–BPNN can effectively improve forecasting accuracy relative to basic BPNN; differential evolution back propagation neural network (DE-BPNN), and genetic algorithm back propagation neural network (GA-BPNN). Performance and Emission Characteristics of Diesel Engine using Pine Oil Blends
-Jai Vignesh S
Biodiesel was one of the alternative sources of energy. Bio-diesel was produced from various sources such as edible oils, non-edible oils, algae and animal fats. The aim of the project is to produce biodiesel from pine oil in order to displace diesel fuel to maximum extent level. The pine oil was blended with diesel as per ASTM standards. The pine oil has good atomization and lower viscosity compared to that of diesel. As a result, the pine oil can be blended directly with diesel fuel without trans-esterification. The various blends were tested in a single cylinder DI diesel engine coupled to eddy current dynamometer. The performance and emission characteristics of pine oil blends (B10 & B20) were compared with the results of base fuel. The results show that pine oil blends give better performance. The NOx emission level is increased compared to that of diesel, while the oxides of Carbon and Sulphur are decreased slightly. Read More...
