AN Effective Scheduling Approach for Profit Maximization in Hybrid Clouds
-Rakesh R ; Dr. UdayaRani V
The economy of scale afford by cloud attracts a huge sum of industrial companies and organizations to deploy their applications in cloud data centers (CDCs) and to supply services to users. The main aim of the private cloud provider is to achieve profit maximization by scheduling tasks while ensure the service of delay bounded tasks. When the arrival of tasks are uncertain and aperiodic it make a big test for private CDC to schedule task cost effectively without outstripping their delay bounds. Unlike previous studies, this paper takes into account the cost minimization problem for private CDC in hybrid clouds. Previous works usually afford an admission control to intelligently deny some of arrival tasks. This will decrease the throughput of a private cloud, and cause revenue loss. Then, this paper proposes a temporal task scheduling algorithm (TTSA) to effectively dispatch all arriving tasks to private CDC and public clouds. By using TTSA, decreases the cost of private CDC by efficiently increase the throughput while meeting the delay bounds of all the tasks. Read More...

Analysis of Bending Strength of Involutes Spur Gears with Fillet Asymmetric Profile
-Mohan Prajapati ; O. P. Srivastava; Anshul Choudhary
Analysis estimating the variation of maximum bending stress and contact ratio depending on tooth number and pressure angle of the drive side has been developed for asymmetric drives. The bending stress analyses have been performed with the aid of FEM for asymmetric and symmetric tooth. The stress results obtained by FEM analyses and estimated by the developed program have been compared. It has been proved that asymmetric teeth have better performance than both symmetric teeth it has been confirmed that, as the pressure angle on the drive side increases, the bending stress decreases and the bending load capacity increases. It has been seen that, while the value of maximum bending stress is changing, the location of maximum bending stress remains the same in finite element analysis. Read More...

Review of Video Surveillance and Object Tracking
-Vishal Vishwakarma ; Shailendra Patel
Paper reviews the challenge addressed by the researchers and work done in the field of video surveillance and moving object tracking. Video surveillance is widely been used to keep eyes on sensitive areas for maintaining security such as in military applications. The major challenge is that acquired video may have multiple moving objects of different size and shapes which makes it difficult to track them. In addition the efficiency of the object tracking may vary in the presence of the different velocity gradients for moving objects. Therefore many tracking methods have been designed to efficiently track the moving objects in the scenes. The paper gives a broad classification of the surveillance and tracking methods and then reviews each category individually. Paper concludes that medical image fusion efficiently improves the medical image quality but no fusion method works uniformly for different medical imaging accusation environments. Use of the an adaptive fusion methods with capability of selecting the optimum fission rule may improve the enhancement performance. Read More...

A Study on the Chemical Stabilization of Expansive Soil
-Rajendran. J ; Jaisankar. V
Rapid industrialization leads to increasing scarcity of land in the developing nations like India. This scenario forces us to utilize the problematic land for various construction activities. The problematic soil includes expansive soils, loess, collapsible soils, dispersive soils etc. These soils can be used for construction purpose only after adopting suitable ground improvement techniques. One such ground improvement technique is soil stabilization using chemicals. The chemical stabilizers are mostly preferred in case of expansive soils. The traditional chemical stabilizers are lime and fly ash. However there are several other chemical stabilizers also available for stabilizing the expansive soils which requires detailed investigation. Construction chemical is such a stabilizer which started gaining attention of the researchers. The soil is treated with Construction chemical independently and tested for the index (liquid limit, plastic limit and shrinkage limit) and UCC strength characteristics for 7, 14 and 28 days of curing. The test results indicate that the plasticity characteristics of soil treated with Construction chemical decreased with increase in percentage of Construction chemical and curing period The shrinkage limit values are increased for all four chemicals but the increase in shrinkage limit is less significant for other three chemicals Similarly the UCS values increased for all chemicals with increase in percentage and curing period. Construction chemical can also be used to improve the properties of soil. Read More...

Strengthening of Column using Glass Fibre
-Prasanna B ; Kaleeswari. G; G. Dhanalakshmi
Seismic retrofitting of constructions vulnerable to earthquakes is a current problem of great political and social relevance. Most of the Indian building stock is vulnerable to seismic action even if located in areas that have long been considered of high seismic hazard. During the past thirty years moderate to severe earthquakes have occurred in India. Such events have clearly shown the vulnerability of the building stock in particular and of the built environment in general. Hence it is very much essential to retrofit the vulnerable building to cope up for the next damaging earthquake. The present study focuses on the behavior of reinforced concrete beam-columns strengthened using Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) subjected to reverse cyclic loading. Reinforced concrete columns designed as per IS 456-2000 possess less ductility to dissipate seismic energy during earthquake. Such beam-columns are seismically deficient and require additional confinement to improve their seismic parameters. Fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composites are increasingly used for this purpose. Hence, experiments were conducted on Reinforced concrete beam-columns with and without FRP wrapping. The specimens were tested under a constant axial load and reversed cyclic lateral loading. Experimental results indicate a significant increase of ductility and increase in energy absorption capacity of RC beam-column when strengthened by GFRP Jacket. Read More...

-Md Mansoor Ahmed ; Mohammed Taher; Sirajuddin; Kumsi Irfan; Saddam
Granular piles are used to improve the poor ground like soft clays, cohesive soils, silty soils, loose sand etc. To improve the load carrying capacity of granular pile, the pile materials may be improved by mixing with Polypropylene fibers or lime. Based on the experiments carried out in the laboratory, conclude that, the load carrying capacity of the granular pile reinforced with fibers has been found to increase with increase in fiber content in granular pile. As the fiber content increases from 0 to 2.0%, the increase in ultimate load intensity carried by the treated clay bed is about 30.75%. Fiber content more than 2% did not result further improvement, but showed a declining trend at 4% fiber content. The load carrying capacity of granular pile mixed with lime has found to increase with increase in lime content in granular pile. As the lime content increase from 0 to 4.0%, the increase in ultimate load intensity carried by the treated clay bed is about 30.75%. But lime content more than 4% shows little improvement. Hence 4% lime content in granular pile is economical and has good load carrying capacity. Read More...

Wireless Energy Protocol using Multi-Hop Data Transmission to Enhance Lifetime of Network
-Ishrat Rahman Rather ; Malik Azizullah
A wireless sensor network may be a set of sensors that once deployed in an exceedingly sensor field are used to monitor the particular characteristics of the environment, measure those characteristics and finally we collect the related data. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is associated in nursing future technology that contains a wide range of applications including infrastructure protection, industrial sensing and medical specialty, environment monitoring, context–aware computing (which includes intelligent home and responsive environment) and so on[1]. This sort of network typically consists of an outsized number of nodes that bring themselves along to make a wireless network. As we know that for formation of network we need to find the route between all the nodes coming in the network, for this purpose routing is done. Routing is defined as moving of information from source to destination. Along the way, at least one intermediate node is encountered. It can be referred as medium for sending packets from source and destination [3]. The major problem of using this protocol is that the node that are located far from the center choose long route for the communication , due to static routing ,that results in increase in the distance and the energy consumption was more. Also the cluster head was chosen on the basis of the distance from the sink, energy of the node was not taken in consideration. In traditional work the communication was done after every round. Due to which the energy consumption is more that decrease the network lifetime. So there is a need to find some solution for the problem for the efficient routing in the network. The protocol should be proposed that will enhance the performance of the network. This review paper describes the introduction to the new cluster head selection method which helps to improve the efficiency of the network and moreover the energy consumption of the network is decreased here which finally enhances the performance of the network. Fault Estimation using SRGM Exponential Model Goel-Okumutu Model and Yamada Delayed S Shaped Model - A Review
-Ritu Sharma ; Er. Deepika Arora
SRGM models are known for providing a prediction of failure rate of a particular software before its shipment. A variety of software reliability growth models have been proposed to evaluate the reliability of the particular software. An optimized estimation of parameters of software reliability growth models is the matter of concern as the precise prediction of reliability depends on these parameters. One of the best known models among SRGMs are the Goel-Okumoto Model and Yamada S-Shaped model. The former model works with two parameters such as ‘a’ and ‘b’. The value of former is dependent on the later and the later depends upon the environmental factors like platform used, ability of the program, tool being used and many more. If we are provided with the failure data of an existing project then we can easily find the value of parameter b. The latter also has a and b parameters but with some different pre-conditions. In this paper, we perform a comparative analysis in the use of Cuckoo Search Algorithm and simulated annealing for estimating the models’ parameters. Read More...

OFDM PAPR Reduction with Enhanced Filtering Methodology in Wireless Communication
-Shabnam Qurashi ; Asad Suhail
Due to the advancement in wireless communication, multimedia based applications are growing and these applications require high speed data transmission. Accordingly, OFDM abbreviated as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing provides orthogonal subcarriers as well as uses bandwidth efficiently. With the number of increment of subcarriers in OFDM will increase Peak–to-Average Power Ratio which will cause distortion at the time of passing from non-linear amplifier [1]. There are several techniques that have been to reduce Peak–to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) but still there is lot to work on it. Thus, proposed techniques are mentioned in this paper for the reduction of PAPR with the increment in the efficiency of the system. Experiments have been performed on the signal and results ensure that the performance of the proposed techniques is better than the existing one. In this paper a new approach for PAPR has been introduced. Proposed technique is known as hybrid technique. It is a combination of two techniques namely SLM and Companding respectively. Review of Kinetic Modeling of Biomass Gasification
-Alkesh G. Parikh ; Dr. V. R. Patel
Biomass gasification is a possible solution to issues like sustainable energy source; human health and environmental pollution. It is a potential energy source which is renewable and can reduce dependency on fossil fuels. Gasification of biomass is a thermo-chemical process that converts carbonaceous material such as biomass and coal into gaseous fuel or chemical feedstock. This gaseous fuel is known as producer gas or singes which contains CO2, H2, CO, H2O, CH4 and N2 compounds. Modelling a real system gives us an idea prior to installation of how the gasifier will behave under definite conditions and also allows us to do necessary alterations for better output. The object of this paper is to provide essential information relating to gasification, gasification mechanism, and different approaches to modelling of biomass gasification. Read More...

-Prof. Nadeem Pasha ; Md Arbaaz Faisal; Md Azhar Zeeshan; Javeed Ahamad; Md Wasif Khan Qureshi
A Self Compacting Concrete (SCC) is a concrete that can flow and completely fill the formwork under its own weight, at the same time maintain its homogeneity even if congested reinforcement is present and then attains complete compaction without any need of external vibration (The Concrete Society & BRE, 2005) SCC was first developed in Japan in 1988, since then due to its advantages SCC has gained greater acceptance in United States, Japan and Europe. The major advantage of SCC is that it offers an opportunity to reduce or eliminate problems in concrete placement in complex conditions. By using SCC Construction and placing becomes easier and faster. The primary aim of this study is to investigate the strength properties of SCC mix of M40 grade self-compacting concrete made with ALCCOFINE, GGBS and a mixture of both in different proportions and compare its values with M40 grade conventional concrete. Conventional concrete is designed by using IS: 10262-2009 and SCC is designed using Modified Nan Su method. For this purpose cement is replaced by weight in four different proportions of 2.5%, 5%,7.5 and 10%% by Alccofine and 15%,30%,45% and 60% GGBS respectively. The characteristics of SCC like passing ability, flow ability and resistance to segregation have been checked using slump flow, L box test and V funnel test as per EFNARC guidelines. -Nasreen Begum ; Meezan Fatima; Tahseen Fatima; Asiya Sultana; Madiha Farheen
Background: Anemia is one of the most commonly found medical disorders during pregnancy. As per The National Guidelines for Control of Iron Deficiency Anemia, published in 2013, India is among the countries with high prevalence of anemia in the world. Pregnancy is associated with physiologic changes that result in increased plasma volume and red blood cells and decreased concentrations of circulating nutrient-binding proteins and micronutrients, these physiologic changes can be aggravated by under nutrition, leading to micronutrient deficiency states, such as anemia. This study is an effort to assess the knowledge attitudes and practices regarding anemia in pregnancy and role of nutrition in management. Objective: The objective of this study is to find out the Knowledge, Attitudes and Practice regarding anemia and its nutritional management in pregnant women. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted among pregnant Women attending antenatal clinic of two maternity hospitals in Hyderabad. It was carried out on 300 pregnant women who were randomly selected in the antenatal clinic over a period of 2-month from November 2016 to January 2017. A structured questionnaire, which consisted of questions on personal data, knowledge, attitude, and practices pregnant women, was employed as a data collection tool and their most recent medical reports were referred to check their Hb level. Results: From the present study it was found that 32% of the women had normal hb%. 40.3% were moderately anemic, 26.3% were mildly anemic, and 1.3% was severely anemic. The study also revealed that 68.9% of women didn’attend any diet counseling. Although 52% of women agreed that iron requirement increases during pregnancy, it was also found that 71.6% of women were consuming iron and folic acid tablets on regular basis and 21.3% of women were irregular in consuming iron and folic acid tablets, and 8% of women were not taking any folic acid and iron tablets during pregnancy. Thus Results of the present study indicate that knowledge, attitude, and practice of the pregnant women on healthy eating during anemia should be improved and that existing health and nutrition education of the pregnant women is not sufficient regarding anemia in pregnancy. Conclusion: The present study revealed that woman’s education levels was closely associated with their knowledge regarding anemia in pregnancy, cause of anemia, its signs, symptoms and treatment. It was also found that and there is need for education among pregnant women regarding proper dietary practices to prevent and treat anemia in pregnancy. Read More...

Benchmarking of Public Transport Service
-Aditi Chaudhary
Many world cities have managed to build on their well performing urban transport to increase competitiveness and attractiveness. Their urban transport systems provide citizens with good access to economic and social opportunities and enhanced quality of life, and enable businesses to efficiently access labour and markets. These cities offer valuable lessons for transition and developing countries. Cities in transition and developing countries are experiencing simultaneous growth of urban population, income, and private vehicle ownership, which, combined with resource constraints, creates a challenging environment for their urban transport systems. Policymakers in these cities must be able to quickly design and implement performance enhancing measures for their urban transport systems that are commensurate with the challenges they face. This entails the ability to conduct self-assessments, learn from good practice elsewhere, and identify the areas and scale of potential improvement. The institutionalization of this benchmarking provides policymakers with tools to continuously seek enhanced performance for their urban transport. Read More...
