Sigma Converter for Partial Shading Problem in PV System
-Arathy Davis ; Praveesh V V
The search for new energy sources gained momentum in the 1970s following the oil crisis when the price of energy in the form of fossil fuel rose dramatically and energy insecurity was felt. The obvious choice of a clean energy source which is abundant and could provide security for the future development and growth is suns energy using photovoltaic PV system. A major challenge in using a solar PV source containing a number of cells in series and parallel is to deal with its nonlinear characteristics and non-uniform radiation. Often PV modules are subject to non-uniform radiation and shading over the surface. Shade is a significant design factor and measuring the extent of shade on a solar array can be challenging due to the fact that shadows moves as the position moves throughout the day and the year. This is further complicated by the changes in the source of shade itself. For example a tree can sway in the wind or lose its leaves during winter, changing the type of shade it cast on solar array. Shade impact depends on its severity and area on PV panel. It may cause current mismatch among PV panel which results in loss of PV power. In this paper study of partial shading, design and simulation of a converter based on sigma conversion concept which enables module level dc/dc converters for eliminating the reduction in output power due to partial shading, soiling etc. has done. Converters are designed such that it will provide a constant output voltage even though shading occurs on certain PV modules. Thus the system is simple, power can be extracted from unshaded module and reliable. Read More...

-Jitendra Meena ; Sanjay Kumar Singh; Sandeep Singh Dangi; Harpreet Singh Chhabra
The Purpose of this thesis work is to design a water distillation system that can purify water from nearly any source, a system that is relatively cheap, portable, and depend only on renewable solar energy. The motivation for this thesis is the limited availability of clean water resources and the abundance of impure water available for the potential conversion into potable water. Two major challenges for human society today are shortage of fresh water and shortage of conventional energy. Solar still is the best method to convert saline, brackish water into fresh water using the unconventional source of energy which is freely and abundantly available in planet earth. The main draw back with conventional basin still is that the productivity is very low. Most important design parameters in flouncing the productivity are optimization of glass inclination, intensity of solar radiation, thickness of glass cover, basin filled with different material, Nano particles mixed with water in the basin, absorber plate area, free surface area of water and depth of water. The main difficulty in conventional still is maintaining mini- mum depth and large surface area of water. Inclined solar still is alternative to increase the surface area of water and maintain minimum depth. Researchers have put efforts to develop various designs of inclined solar stills to maintain the minimum depth of water using wicks, steps in the stills to increase the productivity. In this review, we are attempting to study the present status of different designs used to improve the productivity of solar stills. Read More...

Image Retrieval by Content using Shape, Color, Texture and Relevance Feedback
-Anshu Malik ; Amandeep Kaur
Content based image retrieval is a technique used for getting similar type of images to an input image given by a user. Content based image retrieval is used in several areas like medical, biodiversity information system, digital libraries, intellectual properties, crime prevention, security check, remote sensing, engineering and architectural design, publishing and fashion etc. The CBIR manages to provide these applications by using visual features extraction for color, shape and texture features of the images. To provide good quality of results, appropriate features comparison and matching techniques are required. CBIR is the technique of providing similar and accurate results for a query image given by the user. CBIR assumes that all the resulted images on the output screen will be the same as the query image at any instant of time but sometimes it gives false resulted images. So, we can say that the performance of an image retrieval system also depends on the image extraction techniques and the type of images. Most of the existing techniques only consider either the individual features or combined form of features. In this paper, the image retrieval technique uses the best feature extraction technique for the individual feature first and then combined them in a hybrid form and this technique improves the overall precision value of the existing technique by 4%. Optimization of Two Wheeler Crankshaft using FEA Analysis
-Trupti Ashok Dhage ; Harish V. Katore
The crankshaft is also called as crank. In a reciprocating engine, it translates reciprocating linear piston motion into rotational motion. In a reciprocating compressor, it converts the rotational motion into reciprocating motion. It is one of the most critically loaded components. It experiences cyclic loads in the form of bending and torsion during the working. Here the failure of crankshafts for two wheelers mostly occurs in the crankpin. Thus the crankpin is an important component that mostly decides the life of the crankshaft. The crankshaft considered here is of Scooty ES. The analysis is done for finding critical location in crankshaft. It is a petrol engine crankshaft. Abnormal sound was heard in crankshaft while it is in operation. It was identified as failure of crankshaft. Severe wear has been observed at crankpin bearing location where the oil hole is provided. Here the analysis of the two wheeler crankshaft was done. Its results are then compared and verified numerically, then by the use of ANSYS software. The results compared here are Von Mises Stresses and the strain occurring on the crankshaft. Read More...

Density Traffic Control using Pizo Sensor and RFID Tag
-Prathamesh P Chavan ; Prajakta Chavan
Globally traffic congestion is considered to be an important issue, which can be reduced by proper traffic monitoring system. More recently, the advancement in wireless sensor technology shows a great promise in designing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) due to its flexibility and cost-effectiveness for deployment. The aim of this project is to develop a prototype vehicle traffic monitoring system using piezo based density calculation and RFID wireless technology for smart control. In conventional system traffic lights are designed on fixed time basis. The main objective of the proposed system is to operate the traffic light on instantaneous traffic density or have an adaptive traffic signal. The piezo sensors continuously senses the pressure of the vehicle and sends output voltage to the microcontroller which determines the length of time the signal must be given green signal. Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANETs) technology is the most promising technology to increase traffic security and proficiency, and to enable various other related applications in the domain of vehicular communication. Quality Grained Two-Component Access Manage For Web-Primarily Based Cloud Computing Services
-Asha Rani. H. P ; Dr. Mohammed Abdul Waheed
The Quality Grained Two-Component Access Manage for Web-Primarily Based Cloud Computing Services is proposed to over come the problem of authentication. Specifically, in our proposed system access control system, an attribute-based access control mechanism is implemented with the necessity of both a user secret key and a lightweight security device. As a user cannot access the system if they do not hold both, the mechanism can enhance the security of the system, especially in those scenarios where many users share the same computer for web-based cloud services. In addition, attribute-based control in the system also enables the cloud server to restrict the access to those users with the same set of attributes while preserving user privacy, i.e., the cloud server only knows that the user fulfills the required predicate, but has no idea on the exact identity of the user. Finally, we also carry out a simulation to demonstrate the practicability of our proposed system. Read More...

-Megha Rni Raigonda ; Roopali
In this we are working on a cloud. Cloud is a storage for the web, here number of information are stored and can get the information of any project over the web. In previous approach we are working on cloud we run number of applications, while we use only single application at a time in this the energy efficient is less. To avoid this wastage we proposed a new approach to manage the energy efficient and manages its own workload by applying a set of distributed load balancing algorithm. This approach towards vitality convenient managements of virtual machine ( VM) that are provisioned by large, enterprise cloud computation resources of data center are effectively organized into a well-defined structure. The proposed approach gives proof of its benefits as far as flexibility, virtually proficiency and adaptability and also of its attainability with in the sight of high workload rates. We have at long last limit the dynamic assets of the server farm and subsequently its vitality utilization and abstain from over-burdening of figure hubs. We directed a progression of reenactment based analyses keeping in mind the end goal to assess our proposed approach. Read More...

Impact of Marketing Channels on the Share of Famers in Horticltural Markets of Assam
-Babita Kalita
Agricultural and allied activities play an important role in socio- economic development of Assam as this sector is a major contributor of the state. Assam is basically an agricultural state and out of total rural population 80% depend on agriculture. So agricultural marketing is a vital tool for developing agriculture sector of Assam. Agricultural marketing can be defined as physical and institutional set up to perform all activities involved inflow of goods and services from point of initial producer to ultimate consumer. But the marketing of farmer’s product is a complex phenomenon. Involvement of large number of trade channels in the procurement of agricultural product, attitude of farmers and getting the immediate return are the main factors governing the whole marketing operation. There are various types of problems pertaining to organizational, functional, and infrastructural aspects. The organizational aspects are mostly concerned with the state intervention in agricultural marketing by implementing market regulations as an instrument to offer better price to farmers. The functional aspects are concerned with bottlenecks during grading, pricing, payments and other marketing operations. The physical infrastructure in Assam is weak in case of coverage of village, accessibility and marketing information. The rural go- down facilities are not so much available. Due to lack of proper market information facilities, the supply chain is multilayered. Taking advantages of farmer’s illiteracy and poor marketing condition, a set of middlemen at different stages have emerged as a channel for selling the agricultural product. Due to variation of price across the rural market the farmers get only 1/3 of retail or consumers price. Rest is absorbed by intermediaries and there is spatial price dispersion. So in this paper my study is the problems of agricultural marketing and how the marketing channels impacts the share of farmers and give some suggestions to remove the problems. Read More...

Maximizing Network Lifetime using Energy Efficient Packet Optimization in Wireless Sensor Networks
-Megha Rani Raigond ; Suvarnakala
In this paper Wireless sensor networks system Incorporates A gateway that provides wireless connectivity back to the wired world and distributed node. The Energy Conservation has at all times been the first matter for wireless sensor networks since in various location battery recharging or replenishment is not possible. Many solutions have been providing for energy preservation. Clustering protocols have been successful for resolving this issue to a range but not perfect. In our planned procedure we use the capacity of the sensor nodes to controller their transmission power range. By utilizing this ability we are able to reduce their intra group energy. Though this is limited energy saving but this leads us to minimization of total network energy consumption. The other thing that can be considered is about the task of a cluster head in bunching procedures where cluster-head is responsibility the task as provider and receiver concurrently. Providing these tasks to a single node is not capable. So we are presenting the view of a different node named s-node where the s-node is at work as a receiver for a cluster and transfer the collected files to the sink. We must replicated the planned system with LEACH and LEACH-C protocol and model outcomes display that projected system stays improved now positions of net lifetime than together procedures.
