Every country in the world is on a mission to convert and utilize renewable energy sources like wind energy, solar energy, geothermal energy etc., due to perishing and exhausting non-renewable energy sources like fossil fuels, natural gas, oils, etc. Every major country of the world is on a vision to utilize wind energy by 35% for their electrical needs by 2030. Yet the major problem is that many backward countries in the world are that they are facing major electricity shortages due to their inability to invest in power plants and to buy electricity from other countries. Though the renewable energy sources like wind energy are efficient the major problem is the initial investment cost. The backward countries cannot invest in such a huge project. In order to achieve the world vision for wind energy and to provide electricity even for remote areas, this paper aims at developing the wind turbine which is portable and can be carried and can be installed on the roof tops of the houses and in the remote areas of the world, places and in remote areas with less population density. The design of portable wind turbine is carried out in Solidworks Part Design, the fluid flow analysis is carried out in Solidworks Flow Simulation and structural analysis is carried out in Solidworks Simulation. 8x8 Block Image Compression and Encryption Algorithm for Color Images using SCAN
-Kushamakar Sharma ; Snehashish Jha
A color image can be compressed and encrypt using scan pattern. The methodology used here is a combination of different scan pattern which is used on the binary images derived from each component image of a color image. The color image is first split into three component images (red, green, and blue). After that each component image is further split into its corresponding bit planes. As bit plane image is a binary image, the algorithm is applied on each bit plane. And then all the bit plan is combined together to get the compressed and encrypted image. The compression scheme used here is run length coding. At first the bit plane is rearranged using a set of can pattern, which forms the encrypted image. The combination of scanpaths is kept secret and it is used as the key for encryption. After encryption is done, run length coding is applied on the encrypted image to compress them. Each bit plane is operated like the same and then combined to attain the final output. The aim of the work is to find a good combination of scan path, which can represent the image using least number of bits. Read More...

A Statistical Study on Survival Analysis for Cancer Disease with Failure Time
-C. Geetha ; Mohanapriya
biomedical applications, especially in clinical trials, two important issues arise when studying time to event data: (i) some individuals are still alive at the end of the study or analysis so the event of interest, namely death, has not occurred. Therefore we have right censored data. (ii) Length of follow-up varies due to staggered entry. So we cannot observe the event for those individuals with insufficient follow-up time. In addition to censoring because of insufficient follow-up (i.e., end of study censoring due to staggered entry), other reasons for censoring includes (a) loss to follow-up: patients stop coming to clinic or move away, (b) deaths from other causes: competing risks (Altman, 1982). Censoring from these types of causes may be inherently different from censoring due to staggered entry. In this research provided that the analysis of survival time for clinical trial with suitable data. Read More...

Integrated Approach towards Grey Water Management Treatment and Reuse
-Farhan Mohammad Khan ; Prof. Dr.Ashit Kumar Saxena; Prof. Anamika Kushwah
India is facing a water crisis and by 2025 it is estimated that India's population will be suffering from severe water scarcity. With increased population growth and development, there is a need to critically look at alternative approaches to ensure water availability. These alternative resources include rainwater and bulk of water used in household will emerge as grey water and contain some minerals, organic waste materials dissolved and suspended in it. The main goal of this paper is to propose some efficient, cheap and sustainable grey water treatment systems for households. The treated grey water can be used for non-potable use purposes such as irrigation, toilet flushing, car washing and dust control as well as to recharge the aquifers. The imbalance between water demand and supply has become a significant concern of human life as demand is increasing exponentially. So implementation of alternative water supply options has become an inevitable need for urban water management. There are various kinds of grey water treatment systems around the world. A review of those processes has been done to identify the best suited processes at household and community level. Septic tank, constructed wetland and intermittent sand filter are identified as the most suitable processes for decentralized treatment due to the simple operation and maintenance facilities as well as cost effectiveness of these systems. The use of gray water is becoming more and more common, especially in areas where water resources are scarce. The use of grey water is, therefore, the last option for the water conservation. Grey water use is important because it restricts fresh water demand and reduces stress on treatment system. These alternative resources include rainwater and bulk of water used in household will emerge as grey water and contain some minerals, organic waste materials dissolved and suspended in it. When this is allowed to flow out this will join the sewage and bacteriologically contaminated, resulting in a sewage stream. It is possible to intercept this grey water, at the household level, treat it so that it can be recycled for garden washing and flushing purposes. Read More...

Water is precious source which is available in highly irregular fashion. Due to rapid urbanization, the exposed soil surface gets diminished and ground-water recharge gets drastically reduced and therefore natural ground water recharge gets affected. The objective of this paper was to investigate the ground water contamination and to analyze its impact on the human life. The area is mostly covered with weathered rocks except certain patches. It is seen that less weathered rocks are capable of releasing good quality of major cat ions such as Na, K, Ca, Mg and SiO2 and sulphates on weathering. The weathering is very slow at pH 7 to 8, resulting in change in chemical composition of groundwater in crystalline rock area. When the water samples were subjected to the parameter analysis it was found that the Hardness, BOD, DO, Carbonate were high in quantity, which is not suitable for domestic activity. In this study area human inhabitation is mainly depended on bore well water for drinking and agriculture purpose, due to this the groundwater conservation is severely affected and due to this water crisis problems are experienced during summer. Experimental Investigation on Un-reinforced Bottle Shaped Struts in Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete
-K. Srinivasa Rao ; B. Sravan Tej; S. Naveen Kumar
The strut-and-tie method (STM) is a rational methodology for the design of D (Discontinuity) regions in structural concrete. D-regions are those portions of a structure in which there is a complex non-linear variation in strain and beam bending theory cannot be used. The flow of forces within a D-region can be modelled using a network of struts and ties, called as a strut-and-tie model, which serves to transfer the applied loads to the supports or to adjacent B(Beam or Bernoulli) regions. Bottle-shaped struts are formed within a D- region when the external load is applied to a relatively small area of the member and the stresses disperse as they flow through the member. As the compression disperses along the length of a bottle-shaped strut, tensile stresses perpendicular to the axis of the strut are developed to counteract the lateral component of the angled compression forces. An experimental investigation was carried out to determine the performance of concrete under compression and tension for different amounts of glass fibers in concrete. Fibers are added in the amounts of 0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, 2% and 2.5% of weight of cement. It is observed that characteristic compressive strength of concrete is increased by 10% and 14 % and split tensile strength was increased by 18% and 10 % for M25 and M40 grade concrete respectively for 1 % of fibers. As the transverse tension is the main problem in bottle-shaped struts, addition of fibers in concrete will increase the performance of bottle-shaped struts. Performance of the strut is assessed from the efficiency factor#. Test specimen consisted of 400mm X 400 mm X 100 mm panels, tested for in plane loading under compression for two different grades of concrete and different amounts fiber contents. From the test results, it was observed that efficiency of bottle shaped struts increased up to 34% and 28% for M25 and M40 grade concrete respectively for 1% fibers in cement weight. Also addition of fibers to the concrete delayed the occurrence of main crack in the bottle-shaped strut. Therefore it can be concluded that addition of glass fibers to the concrete is an economical solution to increase the performance of the concrete in terms of capacity and serviceability. Read More...

Digital image processing is the use of computer algorithms perform image processing on digital images. As a subcategory or field of digital signal processing, Digital image processing has many advantage over analog image processing. It allow a much wider range of algorithm to be applied to the input data And it can avoid problems such as the buildup of noise and signal distortion during processing. A digital image is a affirmation of a two-dimensional image as a precise set of digital tenets called picture elements or pixels. Pixel values typically represent gray levels, colors, heights, opacities etc. In this study, morphological transform operation is carried out on medical images to enhance the dissimilitude and quality. A disk shaped mask is used in Top-Hat and Bottom-Hat convert and this mask plays a vital role in the operation. Different types and sizes of medical images need different masks so that they can be successfully enhanced. The method shown in this study takes a mask of an arbitrary size and keeps varying its size until an optimum enhanced image is obtained from the transformation operation. The enhancement is achieved via an iterative exfoliation process. The results indicate that this method improves the dissimilitude of medical images and can help with better diagnosis. Image is the main source of human access and exchange of information. The application of digital image processing in medical engineering is very scopic, and the result is very effective. Medical digital image processing can reduce the effect of noise, enhance the image and improve its quality. Processed images can accurately reflect the focus of disease and visually communicate medical and pathological information of the image. Read More...

Text summarization has two techniques: Extractive summarization and abstractive summarization. Extractive technique is the one in which we generate a summery by using the relevant sentences in the document. Abstractive text summarization produce the summary after thoroughly understanding source text and reformulating the sentences using less number of words. This paper concentrates on survey and performance analysis of automatic text summarizers for Indian languages. Read More...

Solar Fencing
-Siddharth Kumar Panda ; Sabyasachi Aich
The project exhibits an arrangement that could be used as a solution to prevent animals from entering our fields, farmhouses, gardens etc. and destroying them. This type of fencing arrangement are more economical as compared to manpower .When any animal tries to cross the fencing it gives them a short(1/5000th part of a second) and a safe shock that teaches them to stay away from the fields. The shock is safe since the current in fencing is discontinuous as there is certain time duration between two pulses. It prevents the flow of current for long and avoid prolonged shocking to the animal. Read More...

Comparison of Most Suitable 3D Printing Materials, Failure Testing of PLA and ABS and Experimental Testing of PLA by Instron Machine
-Paras Vatsh Krishna Sahu
Revolutionary changes to materials and structures are now possible with 3D printing, bringing concepts that you previously only imagined to reality. In conventional manufacturing processes, such as machining, material is typically removed. Additive manufacturing (AM), commonly known as 3D printing, is a breakthrough technology which fabricates components by adding material layer by layer from the bottom up. This allows for the creation of highly complex and previously unrealizable structures which have radically improved performance and capability such as high strength and low weight. Additionally, these technologies enable mass customization and rapid design iteration. For example, medical implants can be designed to fit a specific patient and rapidly printed. This research paper focus on properties of different 3D printing materials used and how to select a good material for specific purpose. Read More...

Effect of WEDM Parameters on Machinability of Nimonic-90
-Roshan R. Nikule
Wire-cut electrical discharge machining (WEDM) is a popular choice for machining hard and difficult to machine materials with very close tolerances. However, the widely held assumption of the high accuracy of WEDM needs to be investigated, which is the primary aim of this research. This paper presents the experimental and analytical results of an investigation into the dimensional accuracy achievable in WEDM. Three techniques—traditional analysis, the Taguchi method, and Pareto ANOVA analysis—are employed to determine the effects of six major controllable machining parameters: the discharge current, pulse duration, pulse gap frequency, wire speed, wire tension, and dielectric flow rate on three key dimensional accuracy characteristics of the prismatic component parts—linear dimensional errors, flatness errors, and perpendicularity errors of corner surfaces. Subsequently, the input parameters are optimized in order to maximize the dimensional accuracy characteristics. Read More...

-Sunil Nain ; Satish Kumar
This study discusses the influence of wire material on material removal rate. Further, the process parameters like pulse on time, voltage and pulse off time are also investigated on the performance parameters such as material removal rate by in WEDM process. The experiment has been conducted on SS 304 work piece because SS 304 steel has various industrial applications in manufacturing of reinforcement of bars, drainage water goods, street furniture, roofing, mining, electrical industries and petrochemical industries etc. the machining is done by using brass wire and diffused wire of 0.25 mm diameter as tool material The experimental layout is based on Taguchi L9 orthogonal array. Further, the analysis of variance (ANOVA) is used to investigate the results obtained from Taguchi method. The analysis of results obtained for material removal rate indicates that voltage and pulse on time has the highest impact on material removal rate. As the pulse on time increases, the material removal rate also increases, whereas the material removal rate varies indirectly with the voltage and pulse off time i.e. with the increase in voltage and pulse off time the material removal rate decreases. The optimum values of pulse on time, voltage and pulse off time for material removal rate are 120 µs, 15 V and 40 µs respectively. Read More...
