Today, commercial and industrial robots are in widespread use performing jobs more cheaply or with greater accuracy and reliability than humans. They are also employed for jobs which are too dirty, dangerous or dull to be suitable for humans. Robots are widely used in manufacturing, assembly and packing, transport, earth and space exploration, surgery, safety, laboratory research and mass production of consumer and human goods. A mobile robot has been developed for climbing the stairs and obstacles in its path. The main feature of locomotion system is the planetary gear assembly with small wheels. This mechanism has been designed to be able to go over the stairs and obstacles with stability. In this paper a procedure for climbing stairs autonomously is presented. "ESCALATOR" can climb stairs with inclinations. Its weight is distributed in a way that the center of mass is located on its center, which reduces the probability of falling upside down when climbing stairs or obstacles. Read More...

-Humaid Zahid Siddiqui ; Mohd Rizwan Ansari; Maaz Allah Khan; Mohd Abusad Khan; Harendra Chauhan
A reliable Ensemble Averaging(REA) is a proposed technique which provides an estimate of Associated Uncertainty Range and Reliability of future climate change projections for Indian summer monsoon (June-September), simulated by the state of the art Coupled General Circulation Models (CGCMs) under Coupled Model Inter comparison Project 5 (CMIP5). An evaluation of historical as well as future (RCP4.5 scenario) simulations of ten CGCMs in the REA technique projects a mean monsoon warming of 1.2150C with an associated uncertainty range (±δ∆T) of 0.220C, and an all-India precipitation increase by 7.109 mm/ month with an associated uncertainty ((±δ∆P) of 2.592 mm/month for 2021–2050. REA technique also shows a considerable reduction in the uncertainty range compared with the simple average ensemble approach and is characterized by consistently high reliability index in a comparative study with individual CGCMs. The results suggest achievability of REA methodology in constituting the realistic future Indian Monsoon Projections by preparing a performance model and a descriptive confluence criteria. -Kedar Jangam ; Ajinkya Ingle; Rajendra Hiray; Ravina Dhage; Prof. R. T. Umbare
Cloud computing provides people and enterprises Brobdingnagian computing power and ascendable storage capacities to support a range of huge data applications in domains like health care and scientiï¬c analysis, thus additional and additional knowledge homeowners square measure concerned to to source their knowledge on cloud servers for excellent convenience in knowledge management and mining. However, knowledge sets like health records in electronic documents typically contain sensitive data that brings regarding privacy problems if the documents square measure free shared to partially untrusted third-parties in cloud. A sensible and wide used technique for knowledge privacy preservation is to encrypt data before outsourcing to the cloud servers, that but reduces knowledge utility and makes many ancient knowledge analytic operators like keyword-based top-k document retrieval obsolete. During this paper, we tend to investigate the multi-keyword top-k search problem for massive encryption against privacy breaches, associated arrange to determine an efï¬cient and secure answer to the current drawback. Speciï¬cally, for the privacy concern of question knowledge, we tend to construct a special tree-based index structure and style a random traversal formula, which makes even a similar question to provide totally different visiting ways on the index, and would possibly to boot maintain the accuracy of queries unchanged under stronger privacy. For up the question efï¬ciency, we tend to tend to propose a gaggle multi-keyword top-k search theme supported plan of partition wherever a gaggle of tree-based indexes square measure made for all documents. Finally, we tend to mix these ways along into an efï¬cient and secure approach to deal with our projected top k similarity search. In-depth experimental results on real-life knowledge sets demonstrate that our projected approach will signiï¬cantly improve the potential of defensive the privacy breaches, the measurability and the time efï¬ciency of question process over the progressive ways. Site Investigation for Wind Potential Assessment and Development of Permanent Magnet Generator for Roof Top Application
-Kapildev Ramarao
Presently alternate energy resources are replacing conventional energy sources to produce electric power to minimize the usage of non-renewable energy sources. Wind power is one of the potential alternate energy resources and is being exploited and deployed actively. The wind energy system is basically composed of two core components one is wind turbine and another is electrical generator. The wind potential is not same at the entire region, Hence it important to do assessment on the sites for better power output. In the present project investigation on four different locations has been assessed based on annual probability density function. The probability density function at each site has been determined using Weibull, Rayleigh and graphical method distribution function. The shape parameter(k) and scale parameter(c) values were found for selected locations. Based on the energy production of each wind turbine at each location, the suitable wind turbine was recommended. The second part of this project deals with development of small scale permanent magnet generator. For the construction of permanent magnet generator indigenous materials are used, due to which the cost of module is reduced Study on the performance characteristic of the permanent magnet generator was made through a small motor coupled with permanent magnet generator in absence of wind turbine. The observation on variation of efficiency at load and no load condition was made though experimentally. The torque produce and its variation with rotational speed were determined. Permanent magnet generator was tested to check its efficiency and power output at load and no load condition. Radial flux permanent magnet generator has been developed subject to satisfying the features of low operating shaft speed, higher power density, cost effectiveness and compact size. Read More...

Start-Stop Technology by using Micro-Hybrid Technology for Increasing Fuel Efficiency
-Mr. Shubham Shridhar Malokar ; Prof. Swapnil R. Umale
To increase fuel efficiency and Reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 5% each year for all new model mid-size cars, medium-duty cars, and light-duty Trucks is pushing automobile makers to convert their fleets to hybrid-electric and micro-hybrid vehicles. The national mandate set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) implementing automated start/stop (SS) technology in a passenger vehicle is a cost effective way to improve fuel economy (FE) and to reduce Emissions without affecting consumer acceptance. In the urban areas, where much of the vehicle driving time is spentidling at Stop lights or on traffic jams, the engine can be shut down when the vehicle is stopped to save fuel. This research had been investigated the feasibility of using a micro-hybrid configuration to achieve efficient start Transients for SS technology. As the preliminary Simulation results which suggest that the traditional starter/battery combinations may be appropriate and a fuel savings of over 5% expected in regulatory urban driving cycles. The model as well as the selected component package will be used for development and control of a SS system in the test vehicle. Start-Stop vehicles, which shut off the engine at idle condition and restart the engine when the driver’s release the brake pedal or presses clutch, it has been commercially available for several years and have achieved a recordable market penetration in Europe. However, they have only recently become available in the United States. Given different vehicle preferences, traffic conditions, regulatory environment and fuel prices in the U.S. market, there have been questions about the availability of Start-Stop vehicles in that market.
