Defect Detection in Solar Modules using Anisotropic Diffusion Filtering and ICA Basis Images
-Aarti P. Tekale ; Prof. Sarita V. Verma
Solar power has become an attractive alternative of electricity energy. Solar cells that form the basis of a solar power system are mainly based on multicrystalline silicon. A set of solar cells are assembled and interconnected into a large solar module to offer a large amount of electricity power for commercial applications. Many defects in a solar module cannot be visually observed with the conventional CCD imaging system. This project aims at defect inspection of solar modules in electroluminescence (EL) images. The solar module charged with electrical current will emit infrared light whose intensity will be darker for intrinsic crystal grain boundaries and extrinsic defects including micro-cracks. The EL image can distinctly highlight the invisible defects but also create a random inhomogeneous background, which makes the inspection task extremely difficult. The proposed method is based on independent component analysis (ICA), and involves a learning and a detection stage. The large solar module image is first divided into small solar cell sub images. In the training stage, a set of defect-free solar cell sub images are used to find a set of independent basis images using ICA. In the inspection stage, each solar cell sub image under inspection is reconstructed as a linear combination of the learned basis images. The coefficients of the linear combination are used as the feature vector for classification. Also, the reconstruction error between the test image and its reconstructed image from the ICA basis images is also evaluated for detecting the presence of defects. Experimental results have shown that the image reconstruction with basis images distinctly outperforms the ICA feature extraction approach. It can achieve a mean recognition rate of 93.4% for a set of 80 test samples. Read More...

A Research Paper on Synthesis of Esters
-Mohd Aatif Faisal Mohd Aarif ; Imran Khan Yusuf Khan; Mohammad Tausif Mohammad Hanif; Y. K Meshram
The hypothesis is made was correct; this experiment is proved that ester can indeed can create by combining carboxylic acid and alcohol. Different scent can be created form combination of different types of alcohol and different types of acid. This means that it is in fact possible to create or scents that could possibly have therapeutic properties. Potential sources of error include that the concentration of the ester created was too high, and hence the scent of the ester was difficult to determine accurately Another Source of error was that the ratio of carboxylic acid and alcohol might have slightly varied from each sample due to inaccurate measuring in the experiment was to be redone more attention could be paid to more accurate ratio of each sample more attention also need to paid to the concentration of each ester so that is easier to identify the smell. The deference rates of esterification are due to chemical structure of alcohol was first reported by German chemist NikolayMenschutkin in 1879 during world war second. He developed solid acid catalyst or ion exchange resin for use in manufacture of ester .The reason for this is that although esters cannot form a hydrogen bond with each other, they can form a hydrogen bond with the water molecules. One of partially-positive hydrogen atoms in water molecules can be attracted to one of the lone pairs of oxygen in the esters thus, a hydrogen bond is formed. This intermolecular attraction will release enough energy sufficiently to solvate the ester. As for the ester with longer chain, the hydrocarbon portion forces itself between the water molecules and break the hydrogen bonds between the water molecules. This makes the solubility decreases. Lewis acid sites are formed but Bronsted acid sites are removed, and Bronsted acid sites are more crucial factor in the catalysis esterification reaction. Hence, if increases the reaction temperature the Bronsted acid sites were reduced and decreases the activity of catalyst. In the part of simulation work, this has been done by nonlinear least square method and Arrhenius law with the help of Matlab software. It was obtained the equilibrium rate constant increases as increase the reaction temperature and catalyst loading hence increases the rate of reaction. Read More...

Driver in-readiness is an essential reason for most mischance identified with the vehicles crashes. Driver exhaustion coming about because of lack of sleep or rest issue is a critical factor in the expanding number of the mishaps on the present streets. Lazy driver cautioning framework can shape the premise of the framework to conceivably decrease the mischances identified with driver's sleepiness. The motivation behind such a framework is to perform identification of driver exhaustion. By putting the camera inside the auto, we can screen the substance of the driver and search for the eye-developments which demonstrate that the driver is never again in condition to driver is never again in condition to drive. In such a case, a notice flag ought to be issued. This paper depicts how to discover and track the eyes. We additionally depict a strategy that can decide whether the eyes are open or shut. The primary model of this framework is that it must be very non-nosy and it should begin when the start is turned on without having at the driver start the framework. Nor should the driver be in charge of giving any input to the framework. The framework should likewise work paying little heed to the surface and the shade of the face. It should likewise have the capacity to deal with differing condition, for example, changes in light, shadows, reflections and so on. In given paper a sleepy driver cautioning framework utilizing picture preparing and additionally accelerometer is proposed. Read More...

An Experimental Approach for Reduction of Harmonics and Improvement of Power Quality in Power Systems
-Mercy. P ; R. Kousalya; N. Rubesh Kumar; S. Venkateshwaran
Harmonics plays a major dispute in day to day life mainly in power systems. Harmonics is a multiple of fundamental frequency. Among various harmonic reduction technique such as line reactor, 12 pulse converters, 12 pulse distributors, etc., passive filter method has a considerable importance. The AC component from the rectified output is eliminated using a device called filter circuit. Passive filter circuit is a combination of Inductor (L) and Capacitor(C). The inductor and capacitor combination will suppress high AC frequency, when the AC component is reduced automatically the harmonics is also reduced. The main advantages of this method is, they do not devoir additional DC supply, they grasp large voltage, current and power and also passive filter cost is low. This method will reduce harmonics percentage in greater amount and so reduction of harmonics will improve power quality. Read More...

The Importance of Active Legislation in a State- Helping Women Secure Their Right to Enjoy Freedom
-Ms Deeksha Sharma
The objective of this paper is to review the importance of active implementation of safety laws in a state to help the other 50% of the population, i.e., the women in a country enjoy their freedom. According to UNESCO estimates, 130 million girls between 6 and 17 years of age are out of school and 15 million girls of primary-school age. Reasons can be many. Every day, all over the globe, girls face barriers to education caused by reasons that include-poverty, cultural and societal norms and practices, poor infrastructure, violence, lack of safe environment, etc. The larger question that arises here is that is education enough to secure women and girls their Right to enjoy freedom? Though education is a very important factor in the empowerment of women but without the conditions of a safe environment, this education can’t help women secure their freedom. Similarly, legislation in any country is essential to provide equal platform for women to realize their freedom and true potential. So many women constrict themselves and restrain their freedom because of their safety. Therefore, it is important on the part of the state to provide strict safety laws and punishments to those who create chaos, fear and unsafe conditions in the society. With good legislations, the empowerment of women can truely be realized. Read More...

Design and Implementation of Smart Waste Management using GPS and GSM
-Divya. P ; Aisha Parveen. N; Gomathi. G; Mohan. R; Indhumathi. P
Waste management is already hitting the markets but there are a few bottlenecks which are being sorted in our prototype. The first method was developed using IR and weight sensors. They have used weight sensor for detecting the weight of garbage in the dustbin, however weight sensor doesn’t give any information about the distance in the dustbin. So, in this project we have added an IR sensor to detect the height of the waste and GPS to track the location. The Methane sensor is used for the safety of the people who are clearing the garbage from the bins safely. The usage of Wi-Fi in the existing system will send an acknowledgement without any necessary information. But in this prototype the proposing system not only determines the location but also the Bin Number, Bin ID, the weight and also the indication of filled bins. Read More...

-Nikhil Dhabekar ; Shrutika Mahajan; Dipali Chaple; Rina Kamdi; Yashodhara Gaikwad
In term of disease transmission and public health importance mosquito are considered as very important group of insects. Population of mosquito’s increases exponentially that is huge problem for many countries because mosquito spread the filarial, encephalitis, malaria, Yellow fever, chikungunya, Japanese encephalitis, dengue, Lyme disease and epidemic poly-arthritis. For effective control of these diseases, therefore, there is need to prevent individual from mosquito bites. The effective and safe method is the use of mosquito repellents. Also, mosquitoes control and personal protection from mosquito's bites is one of the serious ways for preventing of contagious diseases distribution. The currently available mosquito repellents are not meant to be use for community buildings like school, government offices, and hospitals. The available products like mosquito coil are harmful for children and pregnant women due to the smoke it produce. There are mosquito creams but they are not suitable for all as some people are allergic to creams as they contained synthetic repellents such as Organo Phosphorus Carbamate, N, N-Diethyl-3methylbenzamide (DEET) which is banned in some countries, and Dichloro Diphenyl Trichloroethane (DDT) which are harmful, carcinogenic and non-eco-friendly. So, it is better to use the repellants which are medicinal plants based and also several studies shows the repellency of these plant based repellents is comparable to the synthetic one. The present study demonstrates the potential for using essential oils from medicinal plants as mosquito repellent. Then there are products like “All Out†or “Good Night†which are used widely but these products do not cover large area like school buildings, offices and hospitals. In these types of public places, where cleanliness and hygiene are not maintained properly, chances of spreading diseases like dengue and malaria are more. In this research paper, we are designing a type of repellant device which can be used in public places and also economical, environment friendly and uses only natural resources herbal repellants oil to protect society against diseases like dengue and malaria. The use of this device is of great importance as far as public health is concerned. Read More...

We present here our work on developing CLC, which is a framework for building of a dynamic user community that shares public interest information & knowledge, which is accessible through always-on context aware services (location-based included). We introduce here unde.ro, a geo-spatial search and tracking environment that has been developed to support CLC, and gipix-102B, a GIS-based module for location-based services. CLC aims to be a framework around a user-centred digital library that stores regional information and knowledge and that boosts a self- developing community of transnational users around it. The content will be accessible through always-on contextual services. The users can get it or enhance it, according to their location: at home or office by using a computer, on road with a specific GIS-based device in the car, or off-line, off-road via mobile phone. The content will include: public interest information (drugstores, hospitals, general stores, gas stations, entertainment places, restaurants, travel and accommodation, weather, routes etc.), historical/touristic/cultural information and knowledge, users’ personal "war stories"(tracks, touristic tours, impressions, photos, short videos and so on), and users' additions, comments or updates. We develop (open source) the CLC system for our country of origin and will provide an easy-to-use how-to recipe to clone it for other regions. Read More...
