Recovering Energy from Exhaust Heat in Hybrid Vehicle using Thermo-Electric Generator
-S. Raj Kumar ; M. Meera; A. Sundar; O. Muthulakshmi
A number of irreversible processes in the engine limit its capability to achieve a highly balanced efficiency. The rapid expansion of gases inside the cylinder produces high temperature differences, turbulent fluid motions and large heat transfers from the fluid to the piston crown and cylinder walls. These rapid successions of events happening in the cylinder create expanding exhaust gases with pressures that exceed the atmospheric level, and they must be released while the gases are still expanding to prepare the cylinder for the following processes. By doing so, the heated gases produced from the combustion process can be easily channelled through the exhaust valve and manifold. The large amount of energy from the stream of exhausted gases could potentially be used for waste heat energy recovery to generate power. Various methods to harness the waste heat to produce power effectively had ended up in vain. This paper proposes and implements a thermoelectric waste heat energy recovery system for internal combustion engine automobiles, including gasoline vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles. The key is to directly convert the surface heat energy from automotive waste heat to electrical energy using a thermoelectric generator (TEG), which is then regulated by a DC–DC Chuck converter to charge a battery using maximum power point tracking. Hence, the electrical power stored in the battery can be maximized. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed system can work well under different working conditions, and is promising for automotive industry. With the advancement in 21st Century, there has been increase in usage of Oil and Gas leading to problems like Global Warming, climate change, shortage of crude oil, etc. Due to these reasons Automobile Companies have started doing research for making Hybrid Technology usable into the daily life. The Paper starts from brief history about Hybrid Technology and also some brief introduction on it. Paper will also discuss the technologies used in the making of Hybrid Cars such as "Hybrid Solar Vehicle", "Hybrid Electric Vehicle" and "Plug In hybrid electric vehicles". Our Paper is based on the explanation of such technologies, their function, drawback of this technology, efficiency of Hybrid Cars, Case studies on the present commercial hybrid cars such as Toyota Prius series, Astro lab etc. and the fuels and raw materials used in the Hybrid Cars. Paper concludes on the advantages and disadvantages of Hybrid Cars and how this technology will take over the world in future and would become the alternative for Petrol and Diesel Cars. Read More...

-Ashish Patidar ; Prof. Kishor Patil
Concrete is the most important component used in the construction industry. Due to urbanization, the uses of cement in the construction industry get increased rapidly. This necessitated adopting partial replacement of binder with supplementary cementious material viz., fly ash, slag, metakaolin, marble powder etc. In this research work, M20 grade mix of concrete (with water-binder ratio as 0.48) is adopted with marble powder as a partial replacement for cement. Marble waste is a solid waste material generated from the marble processing and can be used as a filler material in cement while preparing concrete. The amount of waste marble powder generated at the site every year is in the range of 250-400 tons. Glass fiber which is fine fiber of glass, light in weight, extremely strong and robust material is added in concrete to enhance the strength of concrete. The weight of the glass fiber added is 6% by the weight of the cement. The series of laboratory tests are to be conducted to study the effect of 5 to 20 % (in step of 5%) replacement of cement by marble powder with and without glass fiber and compared between marble powder with using glass fiber case and marble powder without using glass fiber by and workability, water absorption and compressive strength of concrete to ascertain the maximum percentage of replacement of marble powder with glass fiber. In remote systems, area refinement intends to identify area changes or encourage confirmation of remote clients. To accomplish area qualification, late research has concentrated on exploring the spatial uncorrelation property of remote channels. In particular, contrasts in remote channel qualities are utilized to recognize areas or distinguish area changes. Nonetheless, we find another assault against all current area qualification approaches that are based on the spatial uncorrelation property of remote channels. In such an assault, the foe can without much of a stretch conceal her area changes or imitate developments by infusing counterfeit remote channel qualities into an objective recipient. To protect against this assault, we propose an identification procedure that uses an assistant recipient or reception apparatus to distinguish these phony channel qualities. We likewise talk about such assaults and comparing barriers in OFDM frameworks. Test comes about on our USRP-based model demonstrate that the found assault can create any coveted channel trademark with a fruitful likelihood of 95.0% to vanquish spatial uncorrelation based area refinement plans and our novel location strategy accomplishes a discovery rate higher than 91.2% while keeping up a low false alert rate. Cloud Management System with Remote URL Upload
-Darshan Kantawala ; Jigar Gupta; Amit Bamane
Cloud storage is a model of data storage in which the digital data is stored in logical pools, the physical storage spans multiple servers (and often locations), and the physical environment is typically owned and managed by a hosting company. These cloud storage providers are responsible for keeping the data available and accessible, and the physical environment protected and running. People and organizations buy or lease storage capacity from the providers to store user, organization, or application data. The Most annoying thing if you are a publisher of a blog or a website or simply want to share a file from the internet you first have to download the file to your hard-drive and then upload to the file hosting company like Google, Dropbox, etc. This thing takes up too much time plus if you are on limited bandwidth plan and also causes excessive data usage. CMS and Remote URL transfers the files directly from the internet to the file host. Google don't have any issue with you in activity and they give you maximum space. But they don't support direct file upload or URL upload .The registered user just simply has to put the URL of the file he wants to upload in the CMS and Remote Url and then click on Upload to Google Drive.

Energy Efficient Balanced Cluster Size Solution to Extend Lifetime of Wireless Sensor Networks
-Pooja Prabhakar Kawade ; S. R. Tandle
Research community adopted Grouping sensor nodes into clusters to achieve high energy efficiency and extend network lifetime in large scale WSN environments. Clustering algorithms are considered as energy efficient approach for resource constraint wireless sensor networks. Traditional clustering algorithms results cluster formation with uneven clusters that make network load unbalanced. In this paper, a clustering algorithm is designed to identify this problem and it results balanced cluster size solution by considering thresholds for cluster formation. Simulation results indicate that current solution can offer a better network lifetime with reduction in node death rate in comparison with existing approaches. Location of each and every present node in the network are calculated in LBC algorithm with respect to X, Y- coordinates. This can help to avoid random selection of nodes in clusters. It improves the balancing of the network and energy of network can be saved. Proposed Centre Point Detection Clustering Algorithm (CPDC) determines the center of the cluster and nearest node to that point with high energy selected as Cluster Head (CH). Read More...

A Review on the Enhancement of Haze Image Techniques by Dark Channel Prior
-Poonam Singh
The bad weather conditions like the presence fog, heavy rain, mist other reasons moreover time to time. Images of scenes captured in bad weather have poor contrasts and colors. This may cause difficulty in detecting the objects in the captive hazy images the general problem for imaging in the atmosphere is the introduction of fog and also the introduction of atmospheric bluster in the images. Haze is formed because of the two fundamental phenomena which might be attenuation and the air light. Attenuation decrease contrast and air light increase more light inside the region. We use color attenuation prior for de-hazing single hazy image. We break image into small sized patches. We explain atmospheric scattering model, transmission map and patch size also. We calculate depth map of hazy image. For calculating the comparison between different techniques. We explain various parameters like Mean square error (MSE), peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR), structural similarity (SSIM) and computational time which shows which technique is best. In last part of work, we explain our result and explain its shortcoming and future scope of my research process. This paper gives a review on the various haze removal techniques. First, the famous dark channel prior, a statistics of the haze-free outdoor images, can be used to estimate the thickness of the haze; and second, gradient prior law of transmission maps, which is based on dark channel prior. We proposed to implement various haze removal algorithm using color attenuation prior model. These techniques are used in many vision applications. The overall objective of this paper is explaining the different methods for efficiently eliminating the haze from digital images. Read More...

A Model Study on Batter Pile Group Subjected to Lateral Loading in Sandy Soil
-Neelaz Singh ; Rajesh Goyal; Vishal Yadav
Single pile and groups are subjected to lateral loads due to impact of ship, wave action, wind and earthquake forces, so it is important to know the Lateral load resistance of a pile foundation. Modal tests are conducted to determine the lateral loading capacity of vertical and batter piles. The tests are conducted in cohesion less uniform fine sand. For batter piles the angle of pile is kept as 25â—¦. After conducting the tests it is observed to that the negative batter piles showed more resistance to lateral loads of a pile for a constant deflection subjected to later loads and positive batter piles showed less resistance as compared to pile. Similar effect is observed in the case of pile groups. The experimental result conducted show more deflections as compared to theoretical relations given by various researchers. Normally vertical piles are used in foundation to take vertical loads and small lateral loads. When the horizontal load per pile exceeds the limiting value, suitable batter piles are used in combination with vertical piles. Batter piles are also known as inclined piles or rank piles. An experimental investigation of the shaft resistance of single vertical and batter piles pushed into sand is conducted. A prototype laboratory setup is designed for testing relatively large model piles, inclined at an angle that varied between zero and 30degrees with the vertical. Two model piles having diameters of 38 and 76 mm are tested at a ratio of the pile's length to diameter up to 40, and subjected to axial compression loading. The pile models are instrumented to allow direct measurements of the shaft resistance. A theoretical model is developed to take into account the asymmetrical earth pressure distribution around the pile shaft, the level of mobilization of the angle of friction between the pile shaft and the sand, and the pile diameter. The results predicted by the theory developed agreed well with the experimental results of the present investigation as well as other experimental and field results available in the literature. A Study on Strengthening of Bubble Deck Slab with Elliptical Balls by using GFRP Sheets
-Vishnu Vijayan ; Jasna Jamal
Bubble deck slab technology is a method of virtually eliminating concrete from the middle section of the slab and thereby reduce disadvantages caused by self-weight of the concrete. HDPE hollow balls replace the ineffective concrete in the slab. Generally HDPE spherical and elliptical balls were used for Bubble deck slab construction. Bubble deck slab with elliptical ball have better load carrying capacity than spherical balls .But the deformation of bubble deck slab with elliptical ball is greater than bubble deck slab with spherical balls. We have to reduce the deformation of bubble deck slab with elliptical balls by GFRP strengthening. Finite element analysis (FEA) was carried out by using the FEA software ANSYS .The bubble deck slabs with elliptical balls and bubble deck slabs with elliptical balls having GFRP sheets were subjected to uniformly distributed load with proper boundary conditions. The analysis was done on bubble deck slab using both M25 and M30 grade of concrete. Total deformation, Directional deformation and Equivalent stress (von-Mises stress) were studied. Then the results of bubble deck slab with elliptical balls and bubble deck slabs with elliptical balls having GFRP sheets were compared. Read More...

Response Rank based Sketch-Content Image Retrieval Search System
-V. Jeevitha ; T. Pinoshini; N. Swathikiruthiga; M. S. Vijay Kumar
Sketch-based searching is a method that allows users to draw generic search queries and return similar drawn images, giving more user control over their search content. Sketch-based image retrieval often needs to optimize the trade-off between efficiency and precision. Index structures are typically applied to large-scale databases to realize efficient retrievals. However, the performance can be affected by quantization errors. Sketch-based image retrieval systems that preserve the index structure are challenging. In this work, an effective sketch-based image retrieval approach with re ranking and relevance feedback schemes is implemented. The current approach makes full use of the semantics in query sketches and the top ranked images of the initial results. It also apply relevance feedback to find more relevant images for the input query sketch. The integration of the two schemes results in mutual benefits and improves the performance of sketch-based image retrieval. Read More...

A Literature Survey on Making Password Cracking Detectable using Honeywords
-Shekhar Pansare ; Monali Deshmukh; Kunal Kasar; Akshay Pandit; Tejas Dhage
Honey word mechanism is used to detect an adversary who attempts to login with cracked passwords. We propose a simple method for improving the security of hashed passwords: the maintenance of additional "honeywords" (false passwords) associated with each user's account. An adversary who steals a file of hashed passwords and inverts the hash function cannot tell if he has found the password or a honeyword. The attempted use of a honeyword for login sets off an alarm. An auxiliary server (the "honeychecker") can distinguish the user password from honeywords for the login routine, and will set off an alarm if a honeyword is submitted. This paper does a survey on how the passwords are stored on the server. This paper also discusses the different password composition policies implemented by different systems. Finally, this paper discusses about various approaches to overcome the challenges in the current authentication systems. Read More...

An automatic irrigation system is to be designed which switches the motor ON/OFF on sensing the moisture content, temperature and pH of the soil. Due to global warming and many climate changes, nowadays there is no fixed time of rain and the amount of rain so there is a great chance of the crops getting destroyed. Less rain leads to under irrigation and excessive rain leads to over irrigation and both these would result in yield reduction. In this paper we introduce a system which can control the irrigation according to the need. The advantage of using this method is to reduce human intervention and ensure proper irrigation. The system is powered by a renewable source of energy i.e. SOLAR ENERGY. This system is connected to the user by IOT (Internet of Things) and user can check the status and control the system from the android mobile phone. There is also a LCD which displays the moisture, temperature and the pH of the soil. Read More...

-Dr. V. Seethalakshmi ; Ranjitha. R; Selva Priya. M; Suruthi Keerthana. M
In the Proposed model, a communication system which converts gesture, used by dump people, Quadriplegia and paraplegia are disabilities that result from injuries to the spinal cord and neuromuscular disorders into speech. The main aim of the project is to implement a low cost reliable system which will help to establish communication between paralytic or disabled patients and a nurse. A patient can easily send messages to the nurse by just tilting an accelerometer connected to a body part capable of movement. This angle of tilt is sent to a central controller which then initiates communication between the patient (transmitter) and nurse (receiver) and also decides which message is to be transmitted based on the tilt angle and fall detection of a patient is also detected by using accelerometer. These commands are received by voice module and audio will be played through speaker. Along with this a real time medicine reminder also implemented. If a care taker is far away from patient, gesture message is send to smart phone of a nurse via GSM and if the nurse is not responding for patient gestures for 3-4 times the message will be send to relations smart phone. As a final point, the gesture is recognized by comparing the acceleration values with the stored templates. According to recognized gesture, respective commands are played through speaker using voice chip and send as message through GSM. Read More...

Experimental Investigation of Effect of Fumigation on Diesel Engine Performance and Emissions-Review
-Jayesh M. Sonkusare ; Prof. Vivek W. Khond
Biodiesel is an alternative fuel for internal combustion engines. It can reduce carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbon (HC) and particulate matter (PM) emissions, compared with diesel fuel, but there is also an increase in nitrogen oxides (NOx) emission. This work is aimed to compare the effect of applying a biodiesel with either 10% blended ethanol or 20% fumigation ethanol. The biodiesel used in this study is converted from jatropha plant oil. Experiments performed on diesel engine. The effects of ethanol fumigation (i.e. the addition of ethanol to the intake air manifold) and ethanol± diesel fuel blends on the performance and emissions of a single cylinder diesel engine investigated experimentally and compared. An attempt made to determine the optimum percentage of ethanol that gives lower emissions and better performance at the same time. This was done by using a simple fumigation technique. The modification and testing of a compression ignition engine using diesel and ethanol as fuel has been carried out. Tests on the engine fuelled with diesel only were made, and the performance evaluated to form a basis for comparison for those of ethanol ± diesel dual fuelling. Modifications were made in the introduction of the ethanol and air. A carburetor was used to vaporize ethanol into the engine. The effect of preheating the intake ethanol ± air mixture was also investigated. Performance was evaluated in terms of engine horsepower, brake specific fuel consumption, brake thermal efficiency, the exhaust gas temperature, lubricating oil temperature and exhaust emissions.
