Biodiesel from Groundnut Oil an Alternative Fuel for Diesel Engine - A Review
-Prasad Ankush Jamdar ; Rahul Krishnaji Bawane; Cyril Judy; Sumit Kedar
Energy is considered as one of the most important factors for economic and industrial growth. Due to the depleting problem of fossil fuels there is a huge demand for an alternative and research & studies promoted the emergence of biofuels among which biodiesel is considered to be the most accepted and best alternative for the depleting energy resources. Biodiesel has become a key source as a substitution fuel and is making its place as a key future renewable energy source. As an alternative fuel for diesel engines, it is becoming increasingly important due to diminishing petroleum reserves and the environmental consequences of exhaust gases from petroleum-fuelled engines. To minimize the biofuel cost, in recent day’s waste cooking oil was used as feedstock. The used cooking oils are used as raw material, adaption of continuous transesterification process and recovery of high quality glycerol from biodiesel by-product (glycerol) are primary options to be considered to lower the cost of biodiesel. There are four primary ways to make biodiesel, direct use and blending, micro-emulsions, thermal cracking (pyrolysis) and transesterification. Read More...

Engine Performance and Exhaust Emission of CI Engine by Multi Port Injection System
-Jay D Soni ; Vatsal S Suthar; Bhavin J Trivedi
The diesel fuel injection system is the heart of the diesel engine and has become one of the critical emissions control technologies with the advance of multiple fuel injection system. The main study was to investigate the effect of pilot, post and multiple fuel injection strategies on engine performance and emissions. The study was carried out on a 4-stroke cylinder 1.2-liter small-bore direct injection diesel engine equipped with a high pressure common rail fuel injection system. A large amount of engine performance, emissions, and cylinder pressure data over several engine operating points system is obtained. It was determined that use of pilot injection does not lead to a simultaneous reduction of NOx and particulate emissions unless optimized combinations of EGR rate, main injection timing, pilot injection timing, quantity and dwell before main injection were achieved. It was also found that post injection and multiple injections can reduce particulate emissions by more than 40% in some cases. It is believed that reduction of particulates using post injection or multiple injections is a result of improved particulate oxidation later in the combustion cycle due to increase in-cylinder bulk temperature and/or enhanced air/fuel mixing with the presence of an additional combustion event. -Suvarna Chandrakant Patil ; Chavan Dhanshree Sanjay; Pawar Trupti Bapurao; Kharat Tejuswini Ashok; Patil Ashish Nandkumar
This paper gives overviews on the salient features of Big Data analysis and its challenges. We face daily challenges in data network like where to put it, data complexity, data management etc. It is difficult to process and store a large amount of data in Relational Database management system (RDBMS). Methods for querying and mining Big Data are fundamentally different from traditional statistical analysis on small samples. Big Data is often noisy, dynamic, heterogeneous, inter-related and untrustworthy. Nevertheless, even noisy Big Data could be more valuable than tiny samples because general statistics obtained from frequent patterns and correlation analysis usually overpower individual fluctuations and often disclose more reliable hidden patterns and knowledge. Big Data brings new opportunities to modern society and challenges to data scientists. Read More...

Parametric Evolution of Structural Member using NDT
-Harshal Dinkar Bhagat ; Dhawal Dhairyashil Deshmukhh; Laxman Namdev Rachmale; Pranav Virbhadra Ruikar; Ravindra Devidas Salunke
Non-dangerous testing (NDT) is the way toward reviewing, testing, or assessing materials, segments or gatherings for discontinuities, or contrasts in qualities without annihilating the serviceability of the part or framework. As it were, the point at which the examination or test is finished the part can at present be utilized. As opposed to NDT, different tests are ruinous in nature and are in this manner done on a predetermined number of tests ("part examining"), as opposed to on the materials, segments or congregations really being put into benefit. These ruinous tests are frequently used to decide the physical properties of materials, for example, affect protection, flexibility, yield and extreme rigidity, crack durability and exhaustion quality, yet discontinuities and contrasts in material attributes are all the more adequately found by NDT. In our venture we will utilize different NDT technique to survey the qualities of different individuals from the confined structure. For this we used the accompanying strategies for NDT: - Schmidt's Rebound Hammer test, Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity technique, Impact Echo Test. we are going to perform tests on one of the building which is too old and most of the part of the structure are damage and there are also so many cracks in that structure so we will study different types of damages and also we will study plastering effects on various NDT. Energy Consumption Framework for Mobile Data Gathering in Wireless Sensor Networks
-Mr. S. Anuvelavan ; R. Pravin Kumar
Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) play an increasingly important role in a wide range of applications, e.g. wildlife tracking, habitat monitoring. The Data uploading time constitutes a large portion of mobile data gathering time in wireless sensor networks. By equipping the two way ground antenna on the mobile collector (senbee), data uploading time can be greatly reduced. The previous work only treated with wireless link capacity as a constant not movable and ignored power control on sensors, which is significantly deviate from the real wireless environments. This system takes the high energy consumption, delay and high traffic load sensitivity. To overcome this problem, proposed a mobile data collecting strategy saves the energy consumption and delay-sensitive applications to alleviate high traffic load and bottleneck in a sink's vicinity. Proposed a distributed algorithm to maximize network lifetime simultaneously, it would significantly speed up the data. The subgradient iteration algorithm to solve the minimization problem. The Lagrangian dualization, simplified the original problem into several sub problems and the distributed algorithms used to calculate data rate, link flow and routing, power control, and transmission compatibility. This proposed method not only reduces routing costs on sensor nodes but also serves as a remote sensing areas to gather data from even disconnected regions to facilitate network coverage and connectivity. A Hybrid Power Generation System using Solar and Piezoelectricity
-Prof. Avishkar V. Wanjari ; Tushar R. Bhadade; Payal S. Kalamkar; Swati G. Sandel; Roshni K. Mutkure
This paper implements an efficient way to power generation system, using solar power and piezoelectricity.
Solar energy system is used to collect maximum power from sun. This proposal is to use the solar panels implemented in this project more efficiently and to carry out a realistic experimental approach to enhance the solar output power to a significant level. And Piezoelectric energy harvesting circuit. In this paper, piezoelectric-based energy harvesting technology is applied to generate electricity from mechanical stress (vibrations). Using piezoelectric material to harvest vibration energy from humans walking, machinery vibrating, or cars moving on a roadway is an area of great interest, because this vibration energy is otherwise untapped. Since movement is everywhere, the ability to capture this energy cheaply would be a significant advancement toward greater efficiency and cleaner energy production. The goal of this experiment is to investigate whether piezoelectricity would be able to provide sufficient source of voltage to charge the parent battery in case of rainy or cloudy days. This configuration allows the two sources to supply the load separately or simultaneously depending on the availability of the energy sources. This paper implements an efficient way to electrify or generate electricity using solar power and piezoelectric energy harvesting circuit.

-Deepak Kumar ; Bindu Bala; Pawan Luthra
The water is vast as it covers around 140 million square miles; more than 70% of the Earth's surface, and half of the world's population is found within the 100 KM of the sea areas. In many fields like adventurous purposes, existence of natural resources, transportation and defense UWSN playing vital role. With the growing role of sea in human life, determining these largely unexplored areas has gained more importance during the last decades. Recently, many researchers in these days choosing Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSNs), because old methods for underwater monitoring missions have some weaknesses like they are using un-manned survey, high water pressure, unequal underwater events. UWSNs is quickly increasing interests of researchers as it collects and monitor data for groups of underwater robots, pollution monitoring applications, equipment control and equipment monitoring. The main aim is to enhance various issues and create a new set of routing protocols inside important changes in the underwater wireless sensor network and terrestrial network. In UWSN underwater sensor nodes run on the batteries, so, if once node is installed, it's very difficult exchange or charge. By this efficiency of energy plays main role in UWSN. Initially we consolidated routing protocols into categories. After this we discussed future research issues of routing protocols are sensibly examined and also perform comparison of routing protocols. Read More...

-Neelam Verma ; Sanjay Goyal
Natural fibers are renewable resources which have been renewed by nature for thousands of years. These fibers are completely renewable, environmental friendly with high specific strength. They are non-abrasive and bio-degradable in nature. Since they are part of wastage, they are available with low cost. With these characteristics, natural fibers have recently become attractive area of research for scientists and they find it as an alternative to prepare various natural fibers reinforced composites. Having extensive range of properties, the natural fiber-reinforced polymer composite materials are suitable for large number of engineering application. The natural fibers have been available plentifully in the world. It reduces the usage of plastic with unique properties compared to synthetic fiber. Due to the high specific properties and low density of natural fibres, composites based on these fibres may have very good implications in industry. In the present research work we have chosen banana fiber as the major reinforcement and coconut coir as an additional fiber to improve the mechanical property of polymer composite with epoxy resin as the base material prepared by hand lay-up process according to ASTM standards. Test specimens are prepared with different weight fractions. Tests were conducted and the improvement in mechanical properties (tensile strength and flexural strength) of the hybrid composite material is observed. Read More...

Energy - demand is one the major need for our country. Finding solutions, to meet the "Energy - demand" is the great challenge for Social Scientist, Engineers, Entrepreneurs and Industrialist of our Country. Applications of Nonconventional energy are the only alternate solution for conventional energy demand. Our basic motive is to regulate the operating power in solar cooler. This project presents the results of an experimental investigation carried out to minimize the power consumption of a solar cooler running at various speeds. The experiments have been carried out for a total of three speeds that is low, medium and high. We carried out speed control by minimizing the input current at multiple speeds with the help of resistors. For high speed, we have connected a couple of resistors in series whereas for medium speed a couple of resistors were connected in parallel and for low speed a single resistor was used. We have replaced DC motor which is traditional coolers with Permanent Magnet DC motor. PM DC motor is highly efficient since no electrical energy is used or losses incurred for developing or maintaining motor’s magnetic field. Its size is more compact and a better dynamic performance can be expected due to higher magnetic flux density in air gap.PM DC motor has an essentially simplified construction and it is maintenance free. We even tried to replace the concept of pump by including cotton to the cooler setup. Water is made to flow from a higher potential to lower potential making the grass and cotton wet. Even if the potential of water becomes lower, it does not create any hindrance to the function of cooler. Elimination of pump reduces the expenses in addition to lowering the overheads caused while lifting the water. Read More...

The conventional floor cleaning machines is most widely used in airport platforms, railway platforms, hospitals, bus stands, and malls and in many other commercial places. These devices need an electrical energy for its operation and not user-friendly. In India, especially in summer, there is power crisis and most of the floor cleaning machine is not used effectively due to this problem, particularly in all areas. Hence it is a need to develop low cost, user friendly floor cleaning machine. In this project, an effort has been made to develop a manually operated floor cleaning machine so that it can be an alternative for conventional floor cleaning machines. The conventionally used materials were considered for the components of floor cleaning machine. From the analysis, we observe that the stress level in the manually operated floor cleaning machine is within the safe limit. This project deals with the designing and fabrication of Floor cleaning Machine. The aim of this project work is to develop and modernized process for cleaning the floor with wet and dry. It is very useful for cleaning the floors. It can be used wet and dry; hence it is widely used in houses, hospitals, auditorium, shops, computer centers, etc. In modern days interior decorations are becoming an important role in our life. Cleaning of floor is a very important one for our health and reduces the man power requirement. Hence our project is very useful in our day to day life. Automatic floor cleaner is a system that enables cleaning of the floor by the help of highly stabilized and rapidly functionalized electronic and mechanical control system. Current project work targets to use automatic floor cleaner for large floor in house-hold purposes and office floors. The cleaning purpose is specifically carried out by continuous relative motion between a scrubber and the floor surface. During the cleaning and moving operation of vehicle a propulsion mechanism such as driven wheels and guide wheels for the dry tracking on the floor surface to be cleaned, suction of water is carried out by vacuum pump, scrubbing action is done by the scrubber directing water towards rear end. Preferably, a sweeper mechanism is mounted on the body forwarded by propulsion mechanism and operated with such control system for advance sweeping of a debris-laden floor surface. A PID controller is used to govern the motion of system which takes the input from sensor circuit and feeds it back to microcontroller which gives rise to the simulation of wheel in a synchronized manner. The new automatic floor cleaner will save huge cost of labor in future. The basic advantage of this product is that it will be cost effective and no human control is needed. Once put in on mode it will clean the whole room without any omission of surface. Read More...

Use of Erasure Coding Technique and Self-data Destruction for Content based Data De-duplication
-Kalyani Kulkarni ; Prof. Priya Pise
In the modern era, Cloud is the best platform for storing the data any type of the information. Due to high demand for the cloud storage there are high chances of data deduplication on the cloud since everyone wants to store the data and sometimes users store same files unknowingly. When it comes to the personal data or any government data then at that time security and efficiency are the most important concern. For checking the duplication we are using History Aware In-line Deduplication. This will check the duplicity of the file before uploading to the cloud. We are using erasure technique for creating the backup of the file, we will create back up of all the file before uploading to the server so that if any file get corrupted then this will become easy to recover that file from the backup easily. For securing the file we are using data destruction in which user will provide a threshold for the file at the time of uploading the file and after that period the file will automatically get remove from the servers.
