Behaviour of Concrete on Replacement of Sand with Quarry Stone Dust as Fine Aggregate
-B. V. Vijeswara Rao ; V. Rama Chandra
Conventional Cement Concrete (CCC) consists of Portland Cement (PC) as binder, which binds the inert aggregate system. Concrete has found its wide application in buildings throughout the world because of positive attributes such as durability, high resistance to loads, and the possibility of using local raw materials in the preparation of concrete (Sand, Crushed Stone). The use of river sand in making the concrete is the best Fine Aggregate (FA). Seasonal non – availability and scarcity leads to the higher cost. There is a need to tackle this problem. So the replacement of conventional river sand is necessary. For this the abundantly available material at all season at a cheaper rate is in need. The use of Quarry Dust – the fines which is found as the remains of the crusher industry, as a replacement of sand is being tried at different places, but no authentic results are available for the characteristics strength and the optimum proportion by which it can be included as FA. Properties such as: compressive, split tensile and flexural strengths besides durability of concrete made with Quarry Dust have been investigated. Cement Concrete mix using Quarry Dust as Fine Aggregate is designed using M20. Combinations used for this study,
1 Concrete using 100% natural sand as fine

-Saranya K ; J. Doraikkannan
Engineered Cementitious Composite (ECC) is a class of High performance Fibre Reinforced Cementitious Composites (HPFRCC). It is characterized by high tensile ductility and tight crack width control. Substitution of concrete with ECC can avoid the cracking and durability problems associated with brittleness of concrete. Extensive inelastic deformation is achieved in ECC through Polyethylene fibre. The aim of this paper is to study the flexural behavior of steel reinforced concrete beams partially strengthened with ECC. A total of twelve beams were cast and tested. Six beams were tested to study the effect of the length of plastic hinge and four beams were tested to study the effect of thick layers of ECC provided in the tension zone of beams. The remaining two beams acted as control beams. Two variations in reinforcement detailing, corresponding to the under and over-reinforced beam sections, were used for the expected flexural tension and compression failures. Along with beam specimens, compressive cylinders and cubes specimen were also cast and tested to evaluate the tensile and compressive characteristics of both ECC and concrete. All beams strengthened using ECC plastic hinges and layers were capable of taking more load than the corresponding control beams. In general, ECC application increased the ductility of RC beams. A Novel Method of Lossless Compression of Images in the Necessary Region of Interest using Golomb Coding
-R. Jayanthi ; K. Bavithra; T. Dhivya
This project is developed to overcome the problem of compression in hyperspectral images. We are concentrating on necessary region of interest (ROI) in hyperspectral images and doing lossless compression on these regions alone than the no-data regions. For this, we use a two-stage prediction scheme, context –similarity based weighted average filtering to remove redundancy for ROI of 2-D spatial image followed by recursive least square filtering to decor relate the hyperspectral images for compression. Then, Golomb- Rice Code is applied for the residuals of full-context pixels and boundary pixels of earlier stage. We use code book to provide better quality, compression and de-compression and also they serve as reference for color and shape of the object. The coding gains of the GR code is studied using mixture geometric model to represent the residuals associated with the pixels. Read More...

Power Generation using Magnetic Shock Absorber
-Sutharsan M ; Malli Sudheer; Arunkumar L
The power generator electromagnetic suspension system is a system that converts vehicle bump generated linear motion & vibration, into electricity to be used in battery charging. General vehicle shock absorbers are used to simply absorb this energy without converting it to electricity. So here we put forth a way to use this free energy and store it for further needs such as vehicle lights, cooling, indicator lights etc. To achieve this we here use the principles of electromagnetism in order to generate electricity from this motion. Shock absorber is made up of a metal shaft, spring, magnet, coils, base with screws and joints. It uses a coil wound around in particular turning arrangement over the inner beam of the part. We use cylindrical supports in order to minimize friction and ensure smooth generation. Read More...

In this paper the diabetic retinopathy is analysed from an image using exudate secretion in the retina. An Edge analysing from the scanned image to change the valve in the image intensity, usually associated with a discontinuity in either the image intensity. Edges detection is a problem of fundamental importance in object extraction as it reduces image data and detects the object which is required. Edges identify object boundaries and are detected through changes in gray level above a particular threshold. A Diabetic retinopathy is a very recent method of finding the level of acid secretion in the eye while the person having diabetics in their body. The edge detection is mainly applicable in case of data transmission; in that case the detected edge data reduce the amount of data to be transmitted. The experimental results show that our method achieves 91% in sensitivity and 92% in positive prediction value (PPV), which both outperform the state of the art methods significantly. Read More...

HJSA: A Hierarchical Job Scheduling Algorithm for Cost Optimization
-R. Indhumathi ; M. Umapathy; P. Narmatha; P. Elavarasi; A. Nagalakahmi
Cloud is emerged day-by-day in the distributed environment and facing innumerable tackles, one amongst is Scheduling. Job scheduling is a vital task in cloud computing as the customer has to pay for used resources depends on the time and cost. In existence, scheduling algorithms are recognized in the job length and the speed of the resources. The job execution in the cloud necessities multiple nodes to execute the single job. This approach is not sufficient to predict the optimal cost in the multi-node execution platform. The cost of the network transmission is also not considered for scheduling cost. To drown these complications, a Hierarchical Job Scheduling Algorithm (HJSA) is proposed. The major objective of the proposed work is to schedule the jobs with respect to the parameters of transmission cost, transfer cost, and execution cost of each job. Subsequently, it also predicts the multiple resources for job completion at the specific time. This is considered as the deadline of the workflow that provided by the customer in the cloud environment. To drown the deadline, the jobs are allocated using application splitting jobs to the small level task. A novel computational algorithm is introduced for predicting the optimum resources to complete the job with the defined cost and time. The experimental analysis representing the lower time and cost, and also the higher reliability and throughput than the existing techniques. Read More...

Content based message filtering have most of tremendous growth in recent on online social network related and then years and become a de face portal for 100 million of Internet customer. These networks offers attractive for digital OSNs interactions and content shared, but also raise a number of hacking issues. While online networks to user constrain allow to sharing records, they currently didn’t provide any mechanism to en-force secrecy apprehensions over data associated with multiple customer. This project current system en-forcing content based message filtering as a key service for OSNs. The system allows online users to have a direct control on the messages posted on their walls. This is succeeded through a flexible instruction based system, that allows a customer to customize the filtering standards to be applied to their walls, and a Machine learning based soft classifier manual producing member-ship labels in support of satisfied based filter. To this end, a new approach has been proposed to enable the protection of shared data associated with multiple customers in online network. An access control module has create to click the essence of multipart of authorization required, along with a multipart policy specification scheme and a policy enforcement mechanism. The existence of online social n/w that include person specific inform creates interesting opportunities for various usage ranging from marketing to community organization. On the other hand, Personal inform concerns need to be addressed for creating such applications. OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) technique has been recently applied to wireless networks. CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) is not suitable for designing a platform that requires computational power and flexiblility at the same time. The proposed encoding and decoding method helps to hold the performance and cost of OFDMA Networks. The proposed system reduces the area and power consumption comparing to the existing system. In transmitter module, source data from different sender are independently encoded with an orthogonal code of a standard basis and these coded data are mixed together by an XOR operation. Then, the sum of data can be transmitted to their destinations through the wireless infrastructure. In the receiver module, a sequence of chips is retrieved by taking an AND operation between the sum of data and the corresponding orthogonal code. After a simple accumulation of these chips, original data can be reconstructed. MIMO detection system based on multi-core principles where the computation nodes are interconnected using the Network On Chip (NOC) model. Read More...

The aim of this paper is to develop an alternative solution for conventional method for cocoa pod splitting. The cocoa pod splitting machine is the new innovative and effective concept mainly used for agricultural and industrial field to promote use of mechanical and automatic parts in field machines. Nowadays, humans are employed for cutting the cocoa pod in harvesting area and in some other places. It may be the difficult task for them as they should keep everything in regular manner while cutting and it takes long time in doing this work. In order to reduce the human effort we came up with this idea. The major components of the machine include a frame, cylinder, conveyer, sensor and rope. The knives which do the splitting are actuated by simple hydraulic mechanisms devoid any major stresses, forces or moments acting on them. These mechanisms are powered by simple low - powered positive displacement or hydrostatic hydraulic pumps for power. The machine can be assembled and quickly, and, therefore can be owned patronized by a group of cocoa farmers who can easily bear the low cost of maintenance of the already relative cheap machine. Our project focuses on benefit of the society and bringing automation in the field of weight carriage particularly trolley which is not in existence that is widely used by masses in airports, railway stations, colleges .After undergoing a survey on existing automation in trolleys we have come up with new ideas to benefit all the particulars. Our goal is to solace every individuals effort by making trolleys run automatically with use of PIR Sensor, Accelerometer , Bluetooth module, remote and speed adjuster at different situations .When the place is less crowded, one can make use of PIR Sensor to automatically follow human within its range or using Accelerometer and guiding the trolley with directions it must move and when there is a considerable crowd, one can use his own mobile’s app which uses Bluetooth to make it follow his device. Secondly use of remote when observed an intermediate crowd making it to move in front of one’s vision. Thirdly in more crowded areas, it’s about adjusting speed of the motor using button in handle and pulling the trolley as usual but without feeling load of the trolley since the wheels are in slow motion which holds the load and leaves less effort for the owner to drag it. -S. Rahamaththulla ; S. Premnath; V. Ravi; S. Madheswaran; N. Jayakumar
The present paper is aimed to design and develop a process to extract high quality natural fibers from the banana pseudo stems. Manual extraction of banana fiber produces good quality of fiber but it much time consuming. Labour expense is quite high and output is quite low. Hence efficient extraction of banana fiber can only be possible through mechanization. Now a day's machines exist for extracting banana fiber but are manually operated and cannot be applied for mass production. The other main disadvantages of existing machine are impurities present in rolled fiber. The efficiency of existing machine is average. It consumes time & the process is not safe. This project is specially designed for extracting banana fibre from the banana stem. The machine is designed in a very simple way such that it can be used by everyone, as the mechanism is very simple. The major components used are blade, belt and pulley, motor, and roller shaft. This model is helpful in fibre industries to extract the fibre from banana stem. Read More...
