Data Transfer using Li-Fi Technology
-Bunage Yogesh Balu ; Ghatage Sangramsinh Shivajirao; Dake Vaibhav Kiran; Kadam Mohan N.
Li-Fi means light fidelity y. It is the newest technology for wireless data communication. It is similar to Wi-Fi technology. It is often frustrating when the speed of data transmission is slow, which leads to more processing hours using other wireless transfer techniques. Wi-Fi provides us speed about 150 Mbps by using IEEE 802.11(n) but still it is not able to fulfil the requirement of user because of such reason we introducing the new technology such as Li-Fi. There is very high data transfer rate in Li-Fi technology. Li-Fi technology is firstly introduced by a German physicist Harald Hass. According to him Li-Fi technology provides more speed than Wi-Fi technology. In Li-Fi technology LED is used for transmitting the light signal. According to changes in light intensity of LED we get the appropriate data at the receiver. Light Fidelity– IEEE 802.15 Standard is high-speed, bidirectional, networked and mobile wireless communications using light. It uses concept of visible light communication for data transmission. Li-Fi is an emerging technology that could see specialized LED (Light Emitting Diode) light bulbs providing low-cost wireless internet connectivity almost everywhere. Li-Fi is the future of high speed data transmission in wireless communication technology. Read More...

-Nikunj Hirabhai Patel ; Prof. K. G. Bhuva
The need for user involvement in maintaining drinking water quality and other aspects like hygiene, environment sanitation, storage, diseases and disposal are critical elements to maintain and improve the quality of drinking water resources. It is also expected that by around 2020, India will be a ‘water stressed' state with per capita availability declining to 1600 cu m/person/year. At present scenario due to sewage discharge, discharge from industries, run-off from agricultural fields and urban run-of, over population and scarcity of drinking water is primary concern for this thesis. In addition, uncertain quantity of certain parameters in drinking water like; PH, TDS, turbidity, temperature, as well as due to conventional method of testing, quality may not be tested on real time basis. Advancement in Internet of things (IoT), sensors, wireless communications, microcontrollers (Arduino), mobile application(android), internet availability leads to focus this thesis on testing, monitoring, record keeping, alarming and suitable action can be suggested in improvement of drinking water quality. At the end this system would be simple, user friendly, flexible, low cost, highly efficient, reliable, robust and easily available at user end. Read More...

Energy Efficient Protocol for Wireless Sensor Network
-Varun Sen ; Shilpi Sharma
Wireless sensor network (WSN) has emerged as one of the most promising technologies for the future. Several applications including military surveillance, scientific exploration, disaster prevention and monitoring, healthcare have been envisioned for them. The unique features of wireless sensor network give rise to new challenges in communication protocol, hardware and application design. Since nodes have limited energy supply, they are operated on low-duty-cycle. Nodes stay awake for a very small time between two long dormant periods. Low-duty-cycle flooding is a challenging problem for wireless sensor networks as every node has a random working schedule. Existing traditional flooding methods for always-awake networks cannot be used directly for wireless sensor networks. Opportunistic flooding is state-of-the-art flooding protocol for low-duty-cycle flooding in wireless sensor networks with asynchronous working schedule. In this work, three different protocols namely protocol X, protocol Y and protocol Z have been proposed for flooding in low-duty-cycle wireless sensor networks. Their performance is compared with opportunistic flooding protocol and the optimal bounds. It is observed that protocol Z outperforms all other protocols. Effects of link-quality variations and node failures on the performance of the protocol Z are investigated. It is shown that link-quality variations as high as 20% have insignificant impact on flooding performance. To ensure high flooding coverage in the presence of node failures, modified protocol Z is proposed. Modified protocol Z ensures high flooding coverage while incurring a little more energy cost than protocol Z. Read More...

Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger Performance Analysis
-Ashwani Sahu ; Sandeep Prajapati; Komal Verma; Ashutosh Mishra
A heat exchanger is a device that is used to transfer thermal energy (enthalpy) between two or more fluids, at different temperatures and in thermal contact. In this problem of heat transfer involved the condition where different constructional parameters are changed for getting the performance review under different condition. An excel program has been developed for the ease of calculation and obtaining result after changing different parameters. The tube diameter, tube length, shell types etc. are all standardized and are available only in certain sizes and geometry. And so the design of a shell-and-tube heat exchanger usually involves a trial and error procedure where for a certain combination of the design variables the heat transfer area is calculated and then another combination is tried to check if there is any possibility of increasing the heat transfer coefficient. Since several discrete combinations of the design configurations are possible, the designer needs an efficient strategy to quickly locate the design configuration having the minimum heat exchanger cost. In this particular problem the tube metallurgy and baffle spacing are being changed the results are obtained. In current paper the baffle spacing and tube metallurgy are the parameters considering change and effect of the same of heat transfer coefficient have been considered. Read More...

Design and Fabrication of Power Transmission in Angular Position using Rods
-S. Karthik ; K. Muralidharan
Power transmission for skew shafts is with the help of either crossed helical gear or worm gear or hypoid gears in a machine, but the manufacturing of these gears is very complex, power loss in gears due to sliding motion and the shaft orientations is very limited, so need arises for a better system. In Gearless power transmission for skew shafts which reduce the losses, cost & save the time and space. This system allows the changing in the orientation of shafts during motion which is very interesting and fascinating about this mechanism. In this transmission system no. of pins or links used must be odd 3,5,7,9... Pins or links are fixed in the drilled holes at the both shaft ends due to which motion is transferred. The Working of this arrangement is very smooth & work effectively with a very minimum amount of power losses, which is skilful and is having something precise in transmitting power in angular position without any gears being manufactured. -Chaudhari Hiralkumar Vinodbhai ; Chaudhari Divyesh; Chauhan Chirag; Chaudhari Xitij; Dhiren Paghdar
Soil stabilisation is any process which improves the physical properties of soil, such as increasing shear strength, bearing capacity etc. which can be done by use of controlled compaction or addition of suitable admixtures like cement, lime and waste materials like fly ash, phosphogypsum etc. The cost of introducing these additives has also increased in recent years which opened the door widely for the development of other kinds of soil additives such as plastics, bamboo etc. This new technique of soil stabilisation can be effectively used to meet the challenges of society, to reduce the quantities of waste, producing useful material from non-useful waste materials. Use of plastic products such as polythene bags, bottles etc. is increasing day by day leading to various environmental concerns. Therefore the disposal of the plastic wastes without causing any ecological hazards has become a real challenge. Thus using plastic bottles as a soil stabiliser is an economical utilization since there is scarcity of good quality soil for embankments. This project involves the detailed study on the possible use of waste plastic bottles for soil stabilisation. The analysis was done by conducting plate load tests on soil reinforced with layers of plastic bottles filled with sand and bottles cut to halves placed at middle and onethird positions of tank. The comparison of test results showed that cut bottles placed at middle position were the most efficient in increasing strength of soil. The optimum percentage of plastic strips in soil was found out by California Bearing Ratio Test and using this percentage of plastic, plate load test was also performed. The size and content of strips of waste plastic bottles have significant effect on the enhancement of strength of the soil. Read More...

-Akshay B. Dhangar ; Mr. Rushabhkumar S. Patil; Mr. Pratik K. Patil; Mr. Ujjwal V. Patel
This paper portrays assurance of three stages Induction Motor from single staging stage inversion, over voltage, and under voltage. Because of this electrical blame the twisting of engine get singed which deliver protection harm and along these lines relieve the life time of Motor. This blame is inciting in Induction Motor because of variety in Induction Motor parameters. At the point when three stage Induction Motor works frequently, it is mandatory to shield the engine from these impossible shortcomings. Three stage Induction Motor specifically associated through the supply, if the supply voltage has list and swell because of harm the execution of Motor is influenced and now and again winding is warmed. When stage arrangement is switched because of wrong association at that point engine start to pivot toward another path, if supply framework has just a single stage and other stage is disengaged then it is single staging issue. Online condition observing of the Induction Motor has been broadly utilized as a part of the identification of blame. Read More...

Detection of Copy Move Image Forgery on Digital Images by Feature Extraction and Analysis
-Kamal Kant
This project is worked on for forensic purpose. As nowadays digital images are easy to manipulate and edit due to availability of powerful image processing and editing software. So, it is possible to add or remove important features from an image without leaving any obvious traces of tampering. Therefore the need for authenticating digital images, validating their content is also increasing. In this paper we are studying the techniques through which the forging on digital images can be detected and the one forgery that we will be primarily covering is the copy move image tampering. The copy-move attack is in which a part of the image is copied and pasted somewhere else in the image with the intent to cover an important image feature or to cancel something that was awkward. We are working on this project with the approach that allows us to understand if a copy-move attack on the image has occurred and which are the image points involved, and to recover which has been the geometric transformation happened to perform manipulation or cloning, by computing the transformation parameters. When a copy-move attack takes place, usually a transformation is applied to the image patch selected to fit in a specified position according to that context. The technique will able to precisely point out the altered area and, in addition to estimate the geometric transformation parameters with high reliability. Read More...

-A. Rajasekaran ; Dr. V. Nagarajan
Giving dependable and effective correspondence below blurring channels is one in all the required specialised difficulties in wireless sensing element networks (WSNs), notably in Industrial WSNs (IWSNs) with dynamic and brutal things. Here we've associate inclination to gift the Reliable Reactive Routing improvement (R3E) to extend the power to quickly recover back from difficulties of link dynamics for WSNs/IWSNs. R3E is meant to spice up existing reactive routing protocols to produce reliable and energy-efficient packet delivery against the unreliable wireless links by utilizing the native path diversity. Specifically, a biased come back theme is introduced throughout the route-discovery section to hunt out a powerful and reliable guide path, that may give many cooperative forwarding opportunities. Throughout this methodology, we've associate inclination to quantify the link weight, outline forward energy density that constitutes forward aware issue with link weight, what proportion holdup is practiced by the nodes and collectively the impact of interference is analysed. So, supported this path is to be chosen for routing. Analysis ends up in high packet delivery relation and fewer delay, less energy consumption and fewer information transmission value. Read More...

Emission Control in Diesel Engine Vehicles Using Zeolite Catalyst
-Kavin Kumaran A ; Ajith Kumar R; Nadar Nagraj Shaktivel; Pradheesh O; Muralidharan K
The exhaust gases emitted by diesel engines contributes greatly to continuing air quality problems. Even though more stringent emission standards are in effect, these engines continue to emit vast amounts of air pollutants like nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, carbon monoxide, sulphur oxides and unburned hydrocarbons, including toxic compounds such as formaldehyde. All of these pollutants pose a serious threat to public health as well as the environment. The objective of this project was to develop and test zeolite catalyst for its ability to effectively treat diesel exhaust [primarily concentrating on reduction of NOx]. Nowadays, platinum based catalytic converters are being used to oxidize or reduce these exhaust gases. However, these convertors are more expensive due to use of rare transition elements like platinum, rhodium, palladium. Zeolite catalyst are much cheaper than these elements which makes it cost efficient. Read More...

Optimization of End Milling Parameters for Improving Surface Roughness using Taguchi Method
-Satyendarkumar Nishad ; Dr. Manoj Kumar Chopra
Present paper presents a study that investigates the effect of the end milling machining parameters on the surface roughness of the EN 31 steel. Nine experimental runs based on an orthogonal array of Taguchi method are performed and it is subsequently applied to determine an optimal end milling parameter combination. Surface roughness is selected as the quality target. The end milling machining parameters considered are rotational speed, feed rate and depth of cut. The feed rate is found to be the most dominant parameter for surface roughness of EN 31 steel. Present study shows that high spindle speed with small feed rate produce better surface finish and the effect of depth of cut is found to be negligible. Taguchi method is used to obtain the optimal combination of end milling parameters. Read More...

Review of Banana Fiber Composite and its Applications
-Neelam Verma ; Sanjay Goyal
Today engineering industries are finding alternate ways to produce their products using eco-friendly materials. Natural fiber is used as an alternative resource to synthetic fibres. They can be as well reinforced for making polymer composite materials and their manufacturing is inexpensive, renewable and environment friendly. Natural fibers have low cost, low density and low durability as compare to synthetic fibers but with the help of fiber treatments, mechanical properties of natural fibers are improved. Natural fibers have distinct properties than synthetic fibers like high strength, low weight, low cost processing and bio degradability. The interest in natural fiber-reinforced polymer composite materials is rapidly growing both in terms of their industrial applications and fundamental research. They are renewable, cheap, completely or partially recyclable, and biodegradable. Plants, such as flax, cotton, hemp, jute, sisal, kenaf, pineapple, ramie, bamboo, banana, etc., as well as wood, used from time immemorial as a source of lignocellulosic fibers, are more and more often applied as the reinforcement of composites. Their availability, renewability, low density, price and their satisfactory mechanical properties offers an attractive ecological alternative to glass, carbon and man-made fibers used for the manufacturing of composites. The natural fiber-containing composites are more environmentally friendly, and are used in transportation (automobiles, railway coaches, aerospace), military applications, building and construction industries (ceiling paneling, partition boards), packaging, consumer products etc. Banana farming generates more quantity of biomass which goes as waste. The parts of banana tree above ground such as pseudo-stem and peduncle are the major source of fibre. Banana fibers used as a raw material in industry for production of papers, tea bags, currency and reinforced as a polymer composite. The present paper discussed the properties of banana fiber and its application in various industries. Read More...
